Reviews of Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms
s. e.
A gorgeous old and authentic tea room. Had eggs royale and it was the best breakfast I've ever had in the UK so far . The portions are big and the food is very tasty. People are friendly and it's really great value for money. Tried also the chips and cream tea, the chips were perfect and the scones were warm with a very generous portion of clotted cream and jam. They also have a kids menu. Would definitely love to go back if I've ever in Leicester again.
K. B.
Always outstanding. The food is always excellent and the service is always good. It never fails to hit the mark time and time again. Great portion sizes. Fairly priced. I love the Eggs Royale and the Caspian is great too, the other half has sampled the English Breakfast which was also the same great standard. Outside seating available in the little courtyard where the front door is. Table service provided. Would really recommend Mrs B's without a second thought.

We had a hen party and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here! It was a bit too warm upstairs. Would’ve been great if they had fans or something.
The afternoon tea & the cold iced latte was really lovely! The brioche buns gave a nice twist to the sandwiches! I chose Red Leicester cheese and chutney as my option! All the sweet desserts and scones were delicious too! Oooo and the cheesy chips with Red Leicester cheese was really really delicious too!!!
B. B.
Had a great lunch here yesterday. Service was friendly and the afternoon tea was good value and the bread and cakes all tasted fresh and homemade. They’ve got a wide selection of breakfast and lunch items. Will definitely be back!
G. W.
Banging quality. Top marks for eggs and coffee. The portion sizes was worrying to start with but when they came... Amazing! Some guy had a tuna baked potato which looked monstrous too. For what you get, the prices are well worth it. The staff super friendly and helpful to. Fav place in Leicester
T. C.
Lovley little find. Amazing breakfast options
H. M.
One of the nicest if not the nicest tea room in the cirlty centre. Does very good cakes and food. Has a pleasant courtyard too that has tables outside.
R. L.
I only had coffee but that was excellent. My Brother and friend had Lunch and were really pleased.
Very good service. 😈
M. C.
Great service . Had afrenoon tea for 2 and others assorted sandwiches .
6 people . Our waitress was smiling friendly and helpful

I've walked passed this place for years and never been inside. Decided to go here for breakfast and I would honestly say I'll be coming back. It's seems small when you look inside but there is an upstairs with plenty of space and great seating. The staff are friendly, atmosphere very chilled and food great!

I came here for the breakfast, and the veggie breakfast was very tasty, large portions and good value for the money. My friend is gluten free and when she asked to remove the toast from her breakfast, they offered to add something else on which I haven't seen elsewhere. Unfortunately they don't have a dedicated gluten free breakfast. Service was good too. However the place is quite small so in busy periods, it would be difficult to find a seat.

My wife and I love Mrs Bridges. It's been a real morale booster during covid lockdown. They have a great selection of sweet and savory favourites. The online menu is easy to navigate and friendly staff will deliver personally. Many thanks for keeping our spirits up.

Booked Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms for a hen do afternoon tea and had the most amazing time.
The team are very friendly and catered to all our needs. Food was amazing and really filling.
S. B.
Mrs Bridges is one of my favourite places for food. The sandwiches are amazing. However, since going plant-based, the vegan options need some work!
F. G.
Perfect sourdough every time!! My favourite bakery. Great birthday cake surprise with my order too! No photo of that though, gone too fast!
K.
Went here for Brunch with friends on a Sunday morning, such a quaint place to eat and chill. Everything was great hope they play some music to make visiting much better! Would definitely go back.
J. M.
Love this place the staff are really helpful and friendly, the food was amazing and a very good price would highly recommend a visit very clean and the decor is oldy worldy as to the atmosphere

I stumbled on this place a couple of months ago and I'm so glad I did! I've been in Leicester for two years now and I didn't even know that it was here. It is located in a little side alley just off St Martin's Square, and is tucked away just enough that you feel like you're in a quaint little village.
The decor is Victorian-esque and the outside seating area is so charming. The food is excellent value (you often get more food than you expect!), and the staff are always friendly and attentive. My personal favourite is their Caspian breakfast - the mixture of waffle, salmon and caviar just does something amazing to the taste buds! I always highly recommend this restaurant to my friends, this is my favourite eatery in Leicester by far.

We've eaten here many times & it never disappoints. Plenty of choice and always well supported which has to be a good sign.
J. M.
We had afternoon tea today. The food was divine but our coffee and tea were served 20mins before the food. Charged for more warm ones. Really steep stairs, so a no go for anyone with mobility problems, as loo is at the top of them.
E. G.
Stumbled across this tearoom while walking around St. Martin's Square, and what a lovely find. The staff were lovely and friendly and great service. The food was delicious! Plenty of different choices for breakfast/brunch/lunch and as a treat we took a couple of sweet treats (lemon meringue, doughnuts & bakewell tart) home with us! They were very tasty and reasonable price!

I love this place. The staff are great. The food is amazing 😋.

I visited yesterday with my daughter for an afternoon tea birthday treat & we sat in the sunny courtyard . We were looked after by the wonderful staff as soon as we arrived , they were friendly , helpful & the service was super quick . The afternoon tea was delicious - lovely little brioche buns with savoury options & a whole plate of gorgeous cakes with jam & cream for the scones . We couldn't eat them all & they were packed up for us with another piece of cake we'd bought to take away . Thanks for a lovely afternoon Mrs Bridges & we plan to return soon !
J. M.
Love this place. Great atmosphere and food is lovely. Recommend the afternoon tea.
M. F.
Food good a bit chilly inside lovely in warmer weather outside.
C. W.
Quaint, old fashioned. Remember going there decades ago. Lovely food.
S. F.
I loved this place!. Absolutely charming with a great menu. Food is delicious with something for everyone, whether that's something simple or more exotic. I will revisiting.
D. M.
Really great hidden gem in the heart of Leicester. Lovely food at reasonable prices in a sweet courtyard setting. Staff attentive and quick. Would definitely recommend.
C.
I ordered from Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms online shop for a family birthday party. They were so helpful and accommodating and the food was delicious especially the chocolate & orange cheesecake! Thank you so much.
L. M.
Had a lovely lunch there highly recommend this place
c. c.
Nice tearoom with seating on 2 floors as well as outside. Nice to meet friends for coffee or lunch. Various snacks available and choice of beverages to suit most people. Clean with friendly staff, will visit again.
R.
Great quality food and lovely surroundings.
H. R.
Quirky place. Nice staff. Good food.
L. W.
Nice tearooms we had afternoon tea the sandwiches were awesome, the cakes were a little hit and miss which does pain me to say as I'm a massive cake fan however some were nicer than others the scones were beautiful just want keen on the jam but top marks for everything being homemade. Deffo worth a visit great value, nice staff and nice surroundings
A. G.
My personal favourite to have English breakfast. I love the atmosphere and the quaint setting of the establishment. Very nice options on the desserts too! The cheesecake is simply amazing. I also like their sandwiches. Their sourdough bread is very good! I have been here many times and will go any time given chance! Highly recommended!
M. M.
Went there for brunch with a friend on a Saturday. It was very busy, I appreciate that the staff set realistic expectations for waiting times & worked hard to make sure we got sat down as soon as a table was available.
It was tough to pick just one dish to as they all looked so delicious. I was pleased with my french toast. The service was fantastic
M. M.
Excellent customer service, staff trained to be helpful, respectful and attentive at all times. Lovely setting and great food. Did I mention the great customer service?👍🏼👌🏻👌🏻
M. B.
Delicious meal and a drink today outside in the lovely courtyard. I would highly recommend this quaint restaurant for value for money and service too - We'll definitely be back 🙂
M. R.
Lovely little coffee shop.. Found it today because of the courtyard around the back. Great menu and polite staff... Was welcomed as soon as I walked in. Will definately use again and take friends and family. Recommended... And the outside courtyard space will be a lovely area to sit in the spring/summer.
E. F.
One of my favourite lunch spots in Leicester. Their soups are made fresh and are perfect on cold days, and they have an incredible range of sandwiches. Perfect for lunchtime takeaway, but also great for families and afternoon tea. Highly recommend.
R. D.
I love this place! Beautiful food, so tasty. And a blast from my past with a coke float
H. L.
Really lovely place for lunch which extensive choice of sandwiches, breakfast, brunch, jacket potatoes etc. Lovely service and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
K. H.
Had a tasty lunch here last week. Was a welcome break to a busy day of shopping! Service and sandwiches great and of course we had to share a portion of the fantastic triple cooked chips dipped in mayo
W.
Lovely place. Good smoked salmon sandwich. One problem is the lettuce served was pale and brownish .
I. K.
Amazing value for money. I thought the small confit of duck and black pudding salad would be too small, so I ordered the large. When it came it was big enough for two people! My wife had the mushroom and cashew with coleslaw salad, which was also lovely. I would recommend this tearoom to all.
D.
It’s a cute and cosy tearoom. I do feel like their service used to be better. I didn’t feel like the waiters were as friendly or attentive this time around. Maybe it’s just gotten busier? Not sure. Otherwise their food, atmosphere and prices are great!
M. B.
Nice venue Clean and tidy can get busy, it is small but does have an outdoor area around the back which is great in summer. Plenty to choose from the menu and daily specials board. Staff are very friendly and helpful. (It is table service too). Food is great and served fairly quickly and presented well.
A. Z.
Absolutely awesome experience, delicious food and such friendly team of people who served us! Thank you....highly recommend a visit!
G. S.
One of my favourite places for lunch in Leicester. A huge menu of delicious food that is homemade with a lot of care and attention. They do classic lunches, cream teas, and even hot meals. I recommend the sandwiches!
The Tea Room itself is historic with lots of character, but very small and cosy, so is not ideal for big groups. Have been many times and will definitely go again.
T. C.
Great food, service and location
A. K. S.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit, that after 30 years of living in Leicester, I haven't been to this place before.
My girlfriend and I both had a full English breakfast. They were both very very good. The service was quick and polite, we didn't have to wait to get a table.
The other items on the menu sounded intriguing, I must go back simply to try the home made cottage cheese. A great place.
S. S.
Popped in with the wife for some lovely afternoon tea 😋
g. e.
Goox food good price very welcome atmosphere and willing to please
P.
Lovely little tearoom, I only went in for a sandwich but it was the best sandwich I've had! Everything was so well presented. This place is a 25 minute drive away from me but I will definitely be back. The staff were friendly, welcoming and conscientious.
D. A.
Absolutely love this cafe, it's hidden and sweet. The Cafe Mocha with Belgium Chocolate and cream is luxurious and not too sweet. I'm coming here again! My new favourite cafe in Leicester.
M.
Really lovely, cute tea shop, great selection of food as well as being reasonably priced (prices are right for Leicester, if you go to the neighbouring cafes you will get smaller portions for London prices). The only negative I have to say is I've been around 4 times now and each time I've been staff have been patronising and irritable, which isn't a nice vibe no matter how great the food is. First few times I just let it go as people do get stressed and I might have just caught them at a bad moment. But when it's every time I can't give them that benefit of the doubt anymore and it's put me off from going to be honest, which is a shame as I enjoy the food!
A. T.
Quality hearty sandwiches! With options for good wholemeal and sourdough bread...
Soya milk also available on request
Been here several times and never left disappointed, staff are very friendly & competent too...
Also do a fantastic cream tea...
L. A.

Absolutely love this place! Always a warm welcome, Great atmosphere and service! Because our salon is just around the corner we sometimes order food in for our clients while they’re having their hair done! Would definately reccomend people to check it out🌴💕 RE:NU @renuhairstudio
C. A.
Lovely little court yard at the back - perfect for a warm day. Delicious flat white and cake.
R. P.
Excellent food! 'Hot ham, fried egg, cream cheese and beetroot', on sourdough was amazing. The ham was practically gammon but not too salty, all for £4.75!
S. H.
I came in for breakfast this morning and had eggs royal with bacon, it was delicious!!!

b. W.

The best place in Leicester for breakfast. I have tried other places but none of them are as good as Mrs. Bridges. Highly recommended you won't be disappointed.
T. B. F.
Brilliant quirky place. Food delicious and staff lovely young ladies. Just a bit claustrophobic. I understand they need to optimise space but it was uncomfortable and cramped.
N. E.
Food is good but isn’t hot enough. Good service
L. G.

Fantastic service, fantastic food. I had the soup, which I didn't like, and they replaced it without charge with salmon and eggs. I will be coming back again.
J. P.
Went here with my sister whilst out shopping. Nice decent cafe serves great tasting sandwiches and tea, pleasant place to go for lunch.
s. b.
Good, but not as good as it used to be. It has a lovely homely atmosphere. And a massive menu, maybe too big.
D. L.

Lovely food and service. Really cute decor and fabulous location :)
A. T.
We went for afternoon tea, brilliant service and scrumptious food, as much tea or coffee as one could drink. Old fashioned shop highly recommended
J. S.
Unashamedly not a posh place, but it doesn't need to be when it's home to some of the tastiest rustic sandwiches you'll find in Leicester city centre.
G. L.
Nice food, the guy on the on the phone said it open all day, we arrived and the open at 11 so had to wait around, but the food was good
