Came upon Wake & CATE by accident, so glad we did. We loved it. Food is made fresh, so it was lovely and hot, not to mention delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back; this will be our place to come to when we come to Liverpool.

Wonderfully friendly staff, soothing atmosphere, and delicious food! Went in with a headache and grumpy with hunger, left well fed and smiling. They warn you on the menu that, since everything is cooked fresh, wait times may vary, so I was prepared for a much longer wait, but it was some of the speediest service I've ever received. Prices are excellent too, I can't wait to go back and try more!

Lovely cozy place, I went there with my Greek friend and she was totally right - I had to try it! As an Italian I'm quite picky with my coffee and I was pleasantly surprised! The staff is smiling and kind - actually Greek. The place is warm and spacey and extremely clean. I took some club sandwiches to eat at home - totally worth the price, nice packaging, and a ration perfect for a 20 stone guy like me. Recommended.

This place is the best kept secret in Liverpool. Had breakfast today here with my wife normally we just have toast and their delicious cherry jam, but as we had more time today we had the pancakes and greek yoghurt and cherry jam and brioche bun with scrambled egg, streaky bacon and thick sausages and i have to say wow just everything so fresh and cooked to order and latte was so creamy, we also took away feta cheese and spinach pastry pie which my wife devoured for her lunch. So lets not keep the Wake & Cate a secret anymore and lets all enjoy the their pleasant hospitality with their great food together and i would happily queue for table here in the future.

Excellent on all fronts. We ordered macarons which are the best I've had in the UK. A Kinder Bueno mousse which is incredibly moreish, they've really struck the balance right with that one. A couple of coffees of excellent quality which is rare, my Americano came in a sleek, classy mug served with hot milk on the side. The service was outstanding too, staff were full of smiles and very attentive. Credit to the team, so glad we stumbled across this gem!

Just wow. I absolutely love baklava and kataifi and this place is the best in the whole liverpool to go to. The prices are very small the staff is extremely friendly! Also their macaroons are unbelievable as well! You can choose to stay in or take away. If you are ever in the mood for something sweet and different would strongly recommend it!

5 stars for the food - toasted sandwiches are easily the best I've ever had. Only 3 stars for service though - while most of the staff are fine we keep getting the same woman serving us who seems to have a major attitude problem - pretty much anything you ask her seems to get a huff and roll of the eyes - because it's far though trouble to add some onion to a sandwich! But at least the food is amazing - tonnes of amazing looking cakes! So on the whole I'd recommend but just ignore the rudeness if you get this waitress... Update - I've had a reply from the owners explaining about the difficulties with staff at the moment and its made me realise I was being a bit harsh. The food is top notch and most of the staff are nice so I shouldn't really mark them down because of one staff member. So I've put the mark back up to 5 stars which the food more than deserves :)

A brilliant new cafe, different from everywhere else is town. Greek or Cypriot owners and staff. Food quality is excellent and they have different pricing for eating in and taking away. They make their own cakes for eating in and taking away for use at events etc. Top quality for a cafe. Really impressed with the quality overall.

Found this place for the first time last weekend and instantly fell in love with it. It's always busy, which says volumes in itself, and everything I tried on the menu was toe-curlingly good. The selection of cakes is second to none, and the homemade lemonade was perfect... I even took a few boxes of cakes and pastries into the office for colleagues, and all diets went out the window at the sight and taste of them :)

I popped in for first time today and they gave me a free taste of the Greek coffee as I never tried before.. it was really great unusual and a lovely almost herbal taste to it. I bought a whole cup after trying. It is impossible to select what dessert or cake or macaroons to try they are all incredible. I trained as a pastry chef and know a little about what makes a good cake, they know a lot more than me. Simply the best desserts that you can buy in Liverpool . Since a friendly team of people couldn’t do enough to make you feel welcome. Nice salad options on the menu great vegetarian food including Moroccan koftas with chickpeas lovely falafel. At breakfast I noticed they do Greek pancakes... hope to try! I will be back here often such a warm cafe and great food and coffee. A must!

Finally a proper patisserie shop. This place has everything. From sweet to traditional Greek savoury treats. Proper table service and the only place in UK where they bring you filtered water without charging you as soon as you sit. This place is a unique hidden gem. One of the places to visit in Liverpool at least twice a week. And the quality and taste of the coffee is at least 100% better than the best coffee shop in the area. Plus they serve traditional arabic/greek/turkish coffee. Just smelling the aroma wakes you up. I can stop talking about the place i am so happy and grateful it exists and it is here in Liverpool.

Das Personal ist teilweise etwas aufdringlich, aber dennoch sehr nett. Leider war der "Griechische Kaffee" (s. Bilder) sehr schlecht. Unglaublich bitter und wässrig. Außerdem wurden die Bestellungen etwas fehlerhaft aufgenommen. Ich würde das Café weiterempfehlen.
