Reviews of 215 Hackney
J. K.
What a fantastic place to have a meal and relax! Just been to 215 Hackney and tried their Damascus plate with home made houmous, mergeuez, salad, eggs, pitta etc. This was a healthy, filling and super delicious meal, exactly what I've been looking for for a few days while staying in London. I also had their haloumi in vine leaves and brownie which were mouth watering. But the place itself and people who work here are simply the best staff I ever encountered in London. Darina is making this place, she's a super star! So friendly and relaxed and looking after their customers so well! I felt like I went to see friends for meal and I only met her today for the first time! I also heard the owner has been offering free meals during the lockdown, they also sell second-hand books from which profits go to charity, which makes this place even a bigger gem and I will definitely be back here again! Stay the way you are guys! 👍👏

Cool little place for breakfast and lunch coffee was amazing service was excellent. People working there really welcoming and friendly highly recommended. And the food was delicious.

The best brunch I’ve had in a while. Mediterranean inspired food has become top of the list for me and this one is just too good to put into words. Great vibes as well!!
S.
This is a little gem. All the food was just delicious, drinks (coffee and smoothie) were too, you can feel the freshness of the ingredients. And to top it all up, the service was super warm without being overwhelming, absolutely perfect.
I. M.
Absolutely delicious food, tasty coffee , generous portions and very friendly chef and waiter giving us more bread and some little freebies! Plus they donate some of their profits to Warchild charity . Amazing place would definitely recommend
V. P.
I loved the place, a bit loud to my taste, but which public place isn't! :D
The food was amazing, so delicious I ate the whole plate even thought for me that portion would have been enough for 2 or 3 meals! (that's my portion only, for most people probably it's a 1.5 meal or some people it's a good big portion)
The staff is very friendly a swell
I will defenitely go back and bring everyone I know!
C. Y. L.
I had the Damascus platter and it’s just so delicious❤️☺️ super generous portion too! So make sure you come with an empty stomach

Cute little brunch place serving middle eastern food:) the hummus is really nice!
C. P.
Amazing food. All very fresh and great quality. Group of 5 of us came for breakfast and everyone really enjoyed it. Definitely worth a try. Friendly service and great coffee. We will definitely come back and look forward to trying the lunch menu.

Wonderful place ! Delicious and fresh Brunch on Saturday! Worth travelling out for, 215 Hackney is probably the best value for money dining experience I have had living in London. The portions are enormous, vibrant and healthy! The interior has is welcoming, and had a lovely character with books staked all around. The staff are delightful and kind and very attentive. We will definitely come back again very soon.

Absolutely love Hackney 215. We have been a few times and never disappointed. The food is so tasty, I m obsessed with their hummus and bread. My partner loves their coffee. The staff is really lovely as well, always smiling. We will stay regulars there for sure!
J. C.
Food that is delicious! Indoor tables are nicely spaced out with dividers. Also, the outdoor setup on a closed street is very nice. The service was excellent. And their restrooms were spotless! Before 7 p.m., recommend for a date night or happy hour!
A. P.
Stunning food, really well prepared and so tasty. Had the Damascus and Hackney... so good. Highly recommended

amazing vegan options for breakfast, yummy food, amazing atmosphere and lovely staff!!! and all in support of charity! <3

For a special occasion lunch, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The cuisine was excellent, particularly the appetizers and main courses. However, the sweets should be better. The service was also excellent, and the greatest part is that it is a tip-free establishment. Then they say that good service necessitates tipping. At least at the 215 Hackney, this is not the case.
C. K.
Very friendly service and an interesting fusion Middle Eastern menu. We tried the French toast with tahini and home made jam (pictured). The flavours really worked well! We will be back to try other items on their menu.
E. P.
This place is very unique in style, it's very comforting, with books already which you can pick up and read and I could spend the whole day in this place. The food is very tasty and the the combination of flavours works really well. The coffee is one of the best I've had in a while. Would highly recommend 215 Hackney.

Lovely customer service
Great food. Homous is amazing, great calm vibe
J. T.
Beautiful and tasty Middle Eastern brunch! The Sabih was 👌
E. F. K.
I had a lovely breakfast here - the marhaba (pictured) was delicious and huge. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. My dad says the french toast was remarkably good. Coffee excellent as well. 20% of the profits are donated to War Child UK which is lovely! The people are lovely too - I left my wallet in the cafe and they stayed late to give it back to me and made sure it was looked after <3
l.
Love this place! Great coffee, awesome service (really appreciate the Scottish manager), amazing middle eastern inspired food + they allow dogs!
I. K.
Amazing food and prices - very reasonable for the food and quality of the food you pay for, I had the Jerusalem plate and it was very tasty. Their coffee is excellent too.
I also bought a book their which they donate the whole thing to WarChild UK they put it in the WarChild UK donation box in front of you.
Welcome to the area guys
J.
Great vegan/veggie brunch options with amazing service. We were a mixed group of eaters and were all satisfied by the range of options as well as the huge portions! The service was also brilliant with friendly and attentive staff. My friend poured the whole container of pepper into a third of her meal and the whole thing was quickly replaced. Thanks!
K.
This is the place for good barista coffee, fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, delicious, authentic menu and a nice change of pace surrounded by books and supporting War Child as you go. I stop here often for my caffeine fix and the servers are always friendly and smiling. This alone makes them a winner in my book.
I was really looking forward to the Middle Eastern French Toast, having spied it before when grabbing takeaway coffee and being a big fan of French toast in general, putting it top of my list to try here ASAP. The toast itself was lovely, and the jam also, thankfully saving the dish from being quite dry. The yoghurt was yellow, had weird brown liquid in it, and tasted a little like curry. There was a dried flower stem (presumably edible, but no pretty petals, just the gnarly dry centre) deposited in the yoghurt. No warm, juicy poached apricots but cold, dried and chewy fig bits and two small pieces of peach that were not sweet and turning brown. My friend had the Damascus and was thoroughly impressed and happy and even asked for more pita to mop the plate which was given gladly and generously!
A strange trend in coffee shops lately is to serve lattes in the same size cup as a cappuccino when, by definition, it should have more milk than a cappuccino. Considering the price is often higher as well, this is very suspicious and quite annoying for those that specifically want extra milk with the coffee. Presumably confused by the introduction of the Flat white - middle ground between cap and latte - coffee shops have simply stopped using the right glassware, making caps, flats and lattes all the same drink - strong shot of espresso with a splash of milk and foam. Which is just lazy or poor understanding of the art. Ultimately, the customer shouldn’t be charged extra for the exact same drink...and why more milk should cost extra anyway is a debate for another day. To circumvent, my takeaway cup is large, so my lattes generally get the right milk to coffee ratio and I will definitely continue to support 215 so long as it does!
L. E.
Simply delicious. Heaping portions, super fresh and a cute setting, surrounded by books. Great coffee too. Brilliant addition to the Stokey food scene
D. E.
I visited the new cafe in the Woodberry Downs area. It’s really nice, the atmosphere is really chilled and the staff are super friendly. The coffee is fantastic, it’s All Press, which is definitely some of the best coffee around. The food is pretty good, it has a big varied menu with something for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans. I had brunch, the vegan feast and it really was a feast. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is in the area.
A.
Yes, I could not agree more with the other high ratings. One of, if not the BEST choice for brunch in London. It offers middle-eastern food lovingly assembled and deliciously made with passion. The attention to detail in every meal in the menu and the consistently warm bread all adds up to the quality breakfast experience. Not the biggest and most glamorous place but who gives a rats? This is down-to-earth Stoke Newington! It is crowded by books all around, which makes is cosy and intimate. This is not a wannabe try too hard ‘fusion’, it is daring with its rich menu from a special but not so lucky region of the world. If permanent peace in middle-east could ever happen, the love of food should be its catalyst, and it could start at 215 Hackney.
G. L.
Perfect food and service, our new fave!
H. K.
Love love love! The food is so delicious and the staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating to any special requests. They always let me swap the meat for halloumi to make it vegetarian. Highly recommend!
K. W.
NIce Vegan and Veggie options
A member of the staff told me the veggie sausages were made in Meat N16,surprised I went to meat N16 to buy some and was informed by staff they do not make any vegan/veggie sausages there!
Can you confirm where they are from ?
S. q.
Such great food, I would consider it in top list for breakfast and branch in London
Y. M.
Great food and service! Love the all day breakfast here! Wouldn’t mind coming back here. Also love how you can get so distracted by the books in the toilet...
C. C.
Oh my oh my such a good brunch if you like a little middle eastern vibe
F. C.
215 Hackney is perfect London restaurant!! We went here for the first time and were very impressed. So busy to be enchanted by each and every dish. Everything was delicious! I must return and strongly recommend it to everyone.
D. B.
Dare I say best brunch spot in London !
1 - Food is excellent
2 - Lovely people working there
3 - Fun music
A. N.
Absolutely amazing food. Gluten free bread was an extra treat and it’s coeliac friendly too ❤️
D. F.
Oh what a lovely brunch! Quality ingredients, amazing flavours, great coffee and a brilliant playlist. We made the trip out of E10 to visit and are glad we did. We'll be back, rest assured...Yum!
J. R.
The coffee is also amazing, as well as the cakes - the vegan berry cake is to die for! They offer really good options for vegetarians and vegans too. The staff and management are very friendly, and involved in the community which is fantastic.
R. T.
My partner and I LOVE this place. The brunch sets are incredible and we're always greeted with a friendly smile when we pop in. I dream about the Jerusalem bagel + honey and tahini butter everyday. Absolutely delicious!
A. B.
I live locally and have been coming here for a year and a half most mornings for my coffee..With the reward system for coffees, a certain amount gets you some free food and holy moly i wish i had eaten this food sooner... AMAZING! The sabih is great but i have just eaten one of the platters, cant remember the name but my goodness it was so good.. really nice portion size, food so so tasty and works so well together.. Also really nice bagels..everyone in the area should try this place and if not in the area, come here to try it... staff also so so nice and chatty and friendly...my fav cafe by some distance x
A. L.
First time visiting here. Had the Damascus breakfast which was really good and very filling, but in a healthy way. I didn't like the green smoothie so I asked to have the tropical one instead which was better.
M. S.
The Jeruselum vegan breakfast is amazing! All of the fresh things you need and super fresh bread also. Presented beautifully. Generally comes out fast too. Thanks
L. C.
One of my favourite places ever. I order the sabich at least once per week, and it never fails to impress! The aubergines and tahini inside are absolutely divine. The vegan cakes are delicious too! I’ll never get bored of it.
Y. J.
Our food was lovely and even though the place very busy, service was spot on and friendly. Will definitely return.
H. K.
Lovely place! Great food, great service, and loads of veggie options too!
M. K.
I have been walking that route almost every day for a long time, but I haven't visited this place before. I knew it was there, but I thought it was just another cafe. I was just searching next place on Google Maps to order some meal as part of a local gastronomy support in this weird times. I found 215 Hackney and was surprised to see that they have quite interesting dishes on offer. I made an online order through their website. Unfortunately when I came to collect, it turned out that the order was not received due to some system error, so I was asked to place the order again on the spot. I waited less than five minutes, and in addition, the staff offered me to choose one of the delicious home cakes in exchange for the inconvenience. The dish I ordered was also very tasty, so I will definitely come back there!
H. B.
My staff were truly satisfied and so grateful. 215 took the time to think about our needs and made it work in a way that meant everyone ate healthy that day. Our neighbourhood so blessed to have these guys to feed us and to show real love to our community. Fresh, clean and healthy food, delicious coffee and desserts plus service with true caring
B. S.
Great, nice, little speciality coffee shop. Food is great and staff makes your day!
J. J.
Great place with tasty food. Got serviced by a blond lady member of staff who really went above and beyond, just from her manners, to how she took the order and served it. She was your best member of staff there.
J. L.
Generous portions of delicious Middle Eastern flavours! These guys also support the charity War Child as well as their fellow local businesses.
F. G. A.
LONDON’S BEST BREAKFAST! I was absolutely blown away by this spot, without a shred of doubt the best breakfast I have EVER had in London. Everything we had was amazing. The mains are all fabulous but do not overlook the sides!! Don’t skip the roasted red pepper & walnut dip- have been craving this daily ever since. The sausage served with a rose & turmeric tahini dip was to die for, had to order extras. Wine leaf wrapped halloumi blew my mind. Atmosphere is great & so are the prices. SO. GOOD.
L. D.
The breakfast menu has plenty of delicious-sounding options - lots of vegetarian choices too - and looking around us it all looked fab too. I opted for something small, scrambled eggs on pita bread, and it was just right, nice fluffy eggs on a fresh warm pitta with a bit of dukkah to spice it up.
A. S.
The food here is insanely good. Beautiful middle eastern flavours and fresh produce. The coffees and smoothies are also good value. The staff are friendly and the music up beat - this is probably the best place in Stoke Newington for lunch.
H. B.
The barista was extremely friendly and truly committed to making the most perfect (personalised) chai latte. His attention to detail was very much appreciated and I’ll definitely be visiting again for other hot drinks as well as to try out their food menu. Thanks for a great service!
M. B.
This place gives me this wonderful relaxed feeling, so does their food and coffee. I used to come here for my take away coffee which they sell at a shocking value if you come with your own cup. That kept me coming for months with my refill cup. And finally I stayed for food and oh boy, the food was a dream, incredible hummus, everything boldly seasoned, sheer bliss. The greatest compliment is the fact my husband (steak and chips kind of man) was also delighted, and we will return!
And coffee - for me this is the best tasting oat latte I’ve had in London. And they know which oat milk brand beats them all👍
A. S.
My partner and I was told 215 are now serving an evening menu and are now open until 10pm. We love the breakfast menu, so we thought why not try the evening menu. It did not disappoint! We had several dishes and still had dessert despite us being so full but everything was so tasty we couldn't help ourselves! I would like to thank the staff for the outstanding customer service and the chefs for the amazing food. I Will be recommending you to my neighbours as the local restaurant to try.
S. C.
Highly recommend. Really great brunch and excellent service this morning....lovely all round..
N. J.
Fantastic food! Brilliant customer service,my children loved the food xx
A. L.
Stop reading this and just go there!
The staff and the stuff are both great but the staff is friendlier than the stuff. Although the stuff is more the delicious than the staff... wait, what?
a. c.
Amazing food, amazing coffee and incredible service. There are so many great reviews online for this place that it had a lot to live up to, but it really is worthy of 5 stars!
P. P.
Went for brunch and it was delicious - really interesting flavours in a great setting. The bread was incredible and all the dips we're just the right size portion and so tasty. I love the fact that they donate to War Child as well. I will return very soon!
A. D.
Great experience. Amazing food, excellent service, we will be back!
C. S.
Amazing Middle Eastern breakfast spot, truly a hidden gem in London, rich flavours creative cooking.
M. K.
Amazing food!
Amazing service!
Would recommend!
Get the Damascus or the Jerusalem! 🤤
F. M.
Excellent little cafe. Got a takeaway coffee here during lockdown 2 (November 2020). Friendly staff, great coffee, and it looks like it's a lovely cafe to visit properly in happier times (loads of books on the shelves).
F. B.
Amazing food! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. A lot of tempting options on the menu. I would recommend the slow cooked pulled lamb, very tender and perfectly cooked.
Definitely would suggest visiting this hidden gem, for great authentic middle-eastern food at reasonable prices!
J. A.
Very cosy café with a great brunch menu, great customer service and friendly staff - perfect for a casual date! I had the Marhaba which came with x2 organic fried eggs, x2 challah bread, grilled halloumi, fresh salad, and slices of cured beef. The date jam and tahini dip was particularly nice 👌 thank you
I will be back!
L. F.
Visited 215 at the weekend. I had the vegan Sabih as I'm a bit particular about eggs. It was delicious if a bit difficult to eat - they stuff the pita so full you can't pick it up with your hands (which is really a good thing, when you think about it) I also tried the Middle Eastern french toast as it was too big for my goddaughter - absolutely delicious, sweet but not too sweet, the jam particularly was great. I'm told the coffee's good too but didn't get to try it on this visit.
J. H.
Simply the best mediterranean restaurant in Stoke Newington! Superb food, excellent customer service and a top atmosphere. Have recommended to friends and colleagues and will be going back in the next few weeks
J. P.
Lovely brunch, lovely atmosphere, love it here!
D. J.
The best brunch spot in east London (Hackney) by far. Amazing concept with very good quality food and coffee. Their breakfast plates are very good portions and very reasonable too.
You can’t go wrong with this new cafe - it’s my new favourite spot when I’m around
K. A.
Amazing selection of options, with each cuisine influenced from various regions in the middle east. Perfect if you are looking for an authentic meal. Has definitely become amongst my top spots, to have a delicious bite and enjoy a cosy atmosphere, accompanied by great service. And the quality of their coffee definitely has made me a loyal customer. Love the fact 20% off profits goes to WarChild Uk, even the more reason to go. Definitely recommend !
S. R.
I had the Jerusalem breakfast at 215. Burst of flavour, very middle eastern ! loved it. The fact a certain amount of profit is donated to WarChild UK was also very heart warming. I haven't come across many restaurants/cafe's that support a charity directly from profits. Really nice of you. Thank you.
G. S.
Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. Fantastic service and I will definitely be dining here again.
ל. פ.
We followed a recommendation from our tour guide, the place is well designed with thousands of books! we recieved a warm welcome from the nice owner, the taste and smells reminded us of home in Israel: a great shakshuka, hummus, vegetable salad, pita... Everything was delicious! Highly recommended!
M. B.
The food was amazing! Tasty middle east twist on english breakfast fare.
e.
The workers greeted and provided me with high quality service and desserts. I will not hesitate to give them a visit more often. The quality and taste of the desserts were beyond great 👍
S. Q.
Great food and coffee. I ordered vegetarian Jerusalem breakfast and it was amazing. The bread is so fresh that we had to order extra one
A. Y.
A very cosy cafe with great food. The staff are polite and the owner was also there, absolutely lovely guy, very welcoming. We ordered the 'Marhaba' off the menu and it was delicious. Good cup of coffee as well. I fully recommend this place.
E. G.
Delicious coffee (only £2 when you take away with your own cup!), great brunch (that pitta bread is the softest and fluffiest I've ever had!) and 20% of profits go to War Child. What's not to like?
G. B.
215 has become my regular spot! they never fail to impress. Its not just the coffee that will pick you up here, the energy and welcoming staff will put a smile on your face for sure! Keep the good work up guys. x
T. T.
Lovely new addition to Hackney/Stokey, they have amazing fried eggs on handmade pitta bread which is so fluffy and tasty. They also have amazing coffee which is only £2 when you take it away in your own cup. Thats their way of reducing cup usage which looks as if though it is working as majority of their customers bring their own cup - so cool to see businesses care these days
M. T.
Best breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. Not exaggerating! I was here 7th Dec,2020😍 I just love the freshly baked sesame bread with honey & butter 🥯 🍯 🧈
5 wishes at once. So fulfilling
F. D.
Food was okay although shop interior very nice
M. S.
Beautiful cafe and cosy interior with amazing food too, can't fault a thing and the owners are locals which is amazing to see.
You must try their Damascus platter which is extremely tasty and their hand made Pitta as well as their house made hummus is the best thing ever
They also donate 20% of profits to WarChild UK which is so cool
M. F.
Such interesting food! And they're dog friendly!
H. G.
I had the Sabih Of London sandwich and I reckon it’s the best sandwich I’ve had in London. Fresh, flavoursome, varied and exciting in a fluffy and sturdy pitta. Half an egg in each half.
SO DELICIOUS, thank you thank you!!
Splendid vibe in the place too 👌🏾☝️👌🏾
D. C.
The lunch menu was great and we opted for the paired wine with the lamb. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, all round, very good!
S. K.
Great addition to Woodberry Down, friendly staff, amazing decor - Made a reservation and look forward to trying out their Middle-Eastern menu, looks delish.
Y. A.
They serve amazing Turkish/Palestinian/Israeli/Iraqi inspired brunch with products sourced from local ethnic bakeries and greengrocers and proudly donate a fifth of their profits to Warchild UK, a charity supporting children in war-torn parts of the world. Great food, a small business that captures the diversity of the local community, all for a good cause.
M. B.
Ali + Cemal, thank you for opening this place! We love it so much. The interior, the selection of veggies from our most favourite Serg from Nature, the ambiance and friendliness of the people working there... you have won us as your fans! It is beautiful how this little place with an amazing cause has already fitted so well in the Stoke Newington community. Expect to see a lot more from us! Today was just a new page in our favourite neighbourhood life ❤ keep on the amazing work and so much thought you have put in this place! The food is just AMAZING. I have a long time first hand experience of shakshuka in the Middle East - yours is by far the best we've had in the UK! Sabih was mouthwatering. ❤ All the love for you!
A. R.
Ordered from here today and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! I’ll be working my way through the menu for sure! Thoroughly recommend
I. T.

L. H.
Excellent food, coffee and service!
Would highly recommend this place, the staff are lovely, the coffee is made well and the food is superb.
H. L.
Cute casual place and fresh food but the green smoothie tasted like mouthwash and the replacement peach/broccoli one wasn’t much better. Sorry but overall a 3/5 from me.
S. P.
Lovely food and good coffee ~ glad they’ve opened near my house.
I used to get my coffee from yellow warbler and since they’ve gone down hill this place has become my local and the owners are lovely boys and locals
S. W.
Delicious taste, quick service, highly recommended!
Z. f. v. b.
so, visited this place with my wife last week, ( apologies for writing a late review) by far one of the best places I have eaten at. Stokey needs a place like this,
More so I have known Cemal and his brothers for a very long time...Good luck and keep up the good work

Sensational sabich. Hard to find in London, but they have it here and it is serious. The pitta bread is up there with the best.
20% of profits to WarChild charity.

(Translated) It is said to be the number one coffee shop in London. The common area of the coffee shop may only be larger than the living room, but this has a stunning Middle Eastern brunch, cheap and delicious coffee (only 2 pounds with a cup), the waiter is beautiful and gentle, even the bathroom is surrounded by books It is. More importantly, 20% of the profits are donated to war-torn children, and all the details are too warm. ❤️
