Found this cute, family owned place by chance! We were super happy with the food, it was delicious and fresh. Loved the coffee too! Absolutely recommend for breakfast, didn’t have any other food so can’t comment. Had breakfast in a different place the next day because this was the opposite way, but to be honest should’ve come here anyway hahaha.

This is an absolutely unique place where you can feel like you are in London and Italy at the same time (however, a few decades ago). The portions are very big while the bill is rather small! The food is absolutely amazing!

Food was good... Ambiance good... Waitress needs to keep eye on customers when they are ready to order. She had her back to customers and chatting while I wanted to order... Looked over, saw me, carried on chatting. But pleasant enough when she did decide to do what she's paid for.

Been walking past Alpino since I was a child in the 1980s. Never been inside till now! The owner been there for 50 years. We must have seen each other passing all those years ago. Simple comfort food. Great value and large portions. Coffee is very good.

Friendly and accommodating staff. Unbeatable prices for good portion sizes and quality food. Freakin' awesome Italian fresh pasta dishes you can order as early as they open. This time I ordered a spaghetti puttanesca and it came in minutes - a dish hard to find in London as it's not particularly popular - but I wanted the noodles to never end. The decor feels like you've gone back in time. Lots of posters and things up which adds charm. A very genuine space that makes it warm and enjoyable. I will be back to work my way through all the pasta dishes.

Great quality for the price and excellent kippers. 6£ for a full english with tea and toast is remarkable in central London. The sausage was only okay, and tasted quite bready. Other than that, couldn’t ask for me. I’ll be back here soon.

Excellent breakfast place. It's a mixture between good old English breakfast and Italian breakfast. A lot of locals eat here, which is always a good sign, coming to a new restaurant. Try the Jumbo English Breakfast, you'll love it! The prices are affordable and the staff is super friendly!

Lovely cafe with decent pricing and a menu with something for everyone. To note it's a CASH ONLY establishment. Staff are friendly and service is rapid. Had the fried breakfast, the American pancakes (which came with a mountain of perfectly crispy streaky bacon) my friend had the corned beef hash which looked and tasted amazing as well. This place sets the bar for cafes in the area.

If you want a full English breakfast that will make you happy, this is the place to go, top quality food is used and it's cooked well, I highly recommend the jumbo, you won't be disappointed with the food or service here, it's 10/10 from me. My only negative comment would be that I only got half of a fried tomato, really should be two or three halves.

Quite a lot to like here, and in some ways reminiscent of the Regency Cafe in SW1. It is interesting that many of these most traditional of English eateries are in fact Italian! The vegetarian breakfast was pretty good, and elements of it were definitely on a par with the Regency, although I did find myself longing for a hash brown. Very nice old fashioned decor, and the sign out the front is a delight.

One of the best small restaurants in London. Don't be fooled by the name, people usually go there for the delicious food there rather than to have a sip of coffee. Not to say that the coffee is bad, but rather that their pasta is one of the best. Very competitive prices as well.

One of the best cafes in islington. Long may it reign. **Update** put prices up .. approx £1 dearer on most meals. Some plates are now a little smaller too. 😕
