We have read recommendations about the scallop breakfast so we had to try it. Definitely did not disappointment. It was quite filling, the garlicky buttery taste of the scallops laid on top of a shell was delicious. £12 for this to include coffee is very reasonable in my humble opinion. We also had the scallops bacon roll and for £6 with coffee is worth it. Charming cafe with historic photos on the wall. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would say the same thing ... don't miss having a relaxing breakfast here when visiting the fish market.

After doing our shopping at the market we had breakfast at the café. We had the bacon and scallops bun. It comes with tea or coffee and for £6 it's quite good value. The bun was super soft and the scallops were covered in delicious butter

Just honest hearty food with large portions. However I have some minor criticism. I tried the haddock (£14) which was quite salty, and it was smoked. The seabass (£12) tasted like it was cooked from frozen. I expected the fishes to be cooked from fresh as the cafe is in the fish market! If they served fresh grilled fish it would have been perfect.

Cafe situated inside the Billingsgate market... They make the best scallops and bacon rolls... Prices are very economical as well.

A little oasis at the back of the fish market. Nothing better than a mug of tea and a bacon and scallop roll when you were up really early to go to the market.

Scallops are standard (not freshed and butter flavours were absent even it was swimming in butter, but okay and could be better) - that was the Scallops breakfast, overall was acceptable. Tea was fair, got fairly strong impacts on the red tea and the milk ratio was spot on. The tea was thick enough and have the right balance. Sorry I have to use the Asian taste buds ro judge. With traditional British palete judgement then, everything was heavenly made. But I would be have to use the Asian standard, so maybe one day, these would elevates. Saying that, we might have nothing left to fish in future, scientific news said 2039 most of the fish will extinct as there are too many jelly fish but we over fishing.

Recommended scallops bacon burger . Breakfast with whole fish (pickled fish ) ,was too salty for me ,but tasty and be able to take breakfast in the fishmarket was good experience.

Very affordable restaurant right at the first exit/entrance into the market premises. They gave such a broad menu, from breakfast options to wraps to kebab etc. My husband and I visited after going to the market and we had the sea bass with chips and salad. It was fresh and nice. I think it's a cash place too. They gave an ATM in the café which has a withdrawal charge so beware. Service was pretty fast too.

Awesome food. I had the full English with scallops, delicious and good price! Really good price for fresh sea food, as they are inside the fish market. Scallops breakfast for 9£, ans scallops and bacon burger for only 4£!

This may sound like an ordinary cafe, but the place and the history around make this place unique. You if course won't come unless you're not visiting the fish market, but I highly recommend you to pay a visit here. I'm not coming since for years, and this place has spectacularly improved. Today's photo really demonstrate how these guys have been trying to add a touch of fine cuisine even presenting a traditional breakfast.

Came here for breakfast. Located inside the fish market it was a little tricky to find. Price is amazing for Scallop Breakfast, they really give you lots of Fresh Scallops. Ham was really salty.

Busy! Noisy! Hectic! Vibrant! Most cafés and restaurants would give their right arm for an atmosphere like this one. The Haddock Breakfast, (huge smoked Haddock, 2 poached eggs, 2 slices and tea) is an absolute winner that sets you up for the day. Where better to get a fish breakfast than inside the market surrounded by the traders themselves. Get there early though.

So so good. Billingsgate market is an awful place to buy fish. It’s all rotting under the ice. However this cafe is super. It’s a shame the markets are so terrible
