We have walked passed Cafe 1001 many times when we go for our Sunday stroll through Bethnal Green road to Brick Lane on the way to Spitalfields Market, but we never went in until today. We just wanted to sit down to take a break and discovered it was a perfect place for that. It was about 2:30 pm and Brick Lane was pretty busy with people buying street food and eating on the street. We thought Cafe 1001 was a bar as there was a DJ playing and a bit dark inside, so we asked if it was ok to sit outside, but it was a real cafe selling coffee and stuff. There was upstairs and it was really nice. Tables were wobbly, so we sat by the window looking down Brick Lane. To our surprise, it wasn’t busy at all inside. We felt lucky to find a great spot to rest. I love the sign for women’s toilets, and they were clean. I have a thing for toilets. I cannot do dirty toilets. By the time we left, it was getting busy. I think we were lucky to be there at right time. We will definitely go back! The music was good today.

Very cool place, chill music and good ambience. Not the best cocktails thought, as the mojito I had was very sour and had no sugar at the bottom. There are a few things to eat, non-alcoholic drinks too. When I went it closed at 9, however the tap room next to the place is theirs, so you can bring your drink next door and have a good time clubbing until later.

I go to coffee 1001 since 3/4 years. Only on the Sunday, because sunday is the big techno night in the W. Room !!! And tonight it was totally changed ! New security, new cleaner. I felt so good to go to the toilet and it was absolutely clean, and smelling good. The security was amazing, Serious and human. They totally understood the flow And they have been amazing. I would like to tell you, it was amazing. Fantastic ! Thanks you for this night ! I had lot of fun, and i can’t wait to be back next week !!! Bravo 🤟 thank you again for tonight. Good coffee and food. Pricing is the standard London rates but the food is of good quality and decently sized, so fairly priced. The cafe is small, so ideal for small, intimate meetings

Exactly what I was looking for. Artsy neighborhood and cool vibe. Great selection of food, full bar, and coffee bar. Plenty of comfy seating. If I had more time I would've sat here all day with my laptop drinking coffee. The breakfast I had was delicious, fresh and fairly priced. Loved!

I found this a quiet place (somewhat deserted) with an eclectic upstairs containing comfy sofas, Wifi and some power points dotted around the place, reminiscent of a student common room - so was a nice place to sit and chill for a bit. They have a fair range of bottled beers, including a few bottles of local brew. Didn't actually eat, so can't comment on their grub. Definitely worth a visit to relax; I'm guessing it gets a lot more lively when there's music playing.

Although it is an iconic place I visited regularly after parties years ago, I was surprised with the prices during the day. Went to have a drink with friends. My husbands beer was 7.50!!!! And my drink £11?! Of course, very crowded and loud....but should expect that!

This is a very nice café to take a coffee and grab something to eat. It is not very expensive and there are nice places to sit and chill upstairs. Bonus: they do nice electronic parties on sundays. I've always liked this place. In years gone by, I used to love to come here on a Thursday for some old school hip hop the DJ would play. I've been to impromptu live gigs in the back room. I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the benches outside. The coffee is good. It's a great place that I hope stands for a while

Drink prices are cheap as it is self service and WiFi is free but the staff is a little confused. Expect to get paper cups even if you give them a cup to refill. You're not allowed to close the door even if it's only 10 degrees outside and everyone inside is freezing. So do not come here on cold days or if you get cold easily. I like working for uni here as the sofas are really comfy but I have to wear a warm jumper

This cafe has been going for years and is a key part of the brick lane pond life. They host events and have djs on most nights of the week. The coffee is pretty good and the food healthy. What lets it down is the toilets - the men's cubicles are pretty terrible.

I come here for their short film movie nights. This place makes a great space for it as it's pretty big and full of couches and chair, although they are well warn. The staff here are friendly, and they have a decent bar with the full cafe out front. I haven't eaten here yet, but they do seem to have a good selection of items to choose from. I'm not sure this place knows what it wants to be. We had some food outside,which was really really nice by the way, and then we decided to go inside.It's Friday night, and the place was empty( the bouncer said it's always like this in summer). Then, only by chance,we discovered that there's even more space upstairs behind the sofa section,with dance floor and etc..Again, almost empty with 5 guys dancing on their own..I think the place is simply mismanaged, as with a such location+ amount of people that pour into the area each day, it shouldn't be like that.

We went here for coffee at around 10am on Saturday, which was evidently just before all of the shops opened. The coffee was really nice and a great price considering the area. For some reason, although the cafe is directly opposite Rough Trade records and in one of the trendiest areas of London, they were playing Top 10 music really loud, which at 10am was a little strange! We had a couple of fruit salads but if you're looking for something more, the sandwiches here looked incredible. I wouldn't call it cozy, it's a very big open space with an industrial feel but the staff and really nice and we were served very quickly.

To be honest, it's much more enjoyable for a coffee and a (pricey) slice of cake during the day, sitting on large sofas and listening to lounge music. Rather annoying at night. Too many stoners around, pathetic cocktail bar, techno music so loud that makes a conversation impossible even in the sofa area. Shocking toilets. 3 stars only for the nice coffee vibes

Love this place - the upstairs seating area used to have bookshelf of books 'to loan', but having gone back recently, this is no more. But lots of sofas, bean bags and cushions in the open-plan upstairs place still makes for a relaxing, sociable atmosphere. They have a great breakfast menu and coffee selection, and outside, burgers and kebabs on the barbecue - something for the journey.

Definitely one of my favourite places to go and chill at the weekend. It's a little bit of everything, cafe, bar, chill out, club and has a great vibe - but a little hard to describe. It's prime location on brick lane and a great place to go after spitalfields / up market. In the summer, there's usually a BBQ with picnic tables outside.

Cafe 1001 is a bar/bbq/cafe just off Brick Lane, and if I’m the area I’ll often find myself here on a Saturday night. The dress code is mostly t-shirts and jeans, but I’ve come here dressed in a floral dress and no-one batted an eyelid. The inside is very worn and a little grubby, but (if you actually get a seat) really comfy and relaxed. On a Saturday the back room is turned into a mini club and gets packed with dancers, whilst the rest of the Cafe is a bit more chilled. There’s also plenty of outdoor seating next to the BBQ selling chicken burgers (quite tasty, but nowhere near as good as a salt beef bagel). Bizarrely it doesn’t switch entirely from a cafe to bar/club, so if you wanted a cake and coffee at 11pm you could get one (like a friend of mine did).

Only been here for night time Techno shenanigans but found the venue to be vibsing, as you would from any underground establishment. Also plenty of nice seating around too. Little piece of Berlin in London, shame more people don't show up!

Honestly haven't checked the staff, nor the range of drinks, so can't really rate these, but seen the music - Techno to be precise.. there was this guy called DJ mayuriseby...he wasn't that bad, but yo the music? I mean for Techno lovers it must've been great, but for me as an EDM lover it just didn't feel good. The club itself has terrible acoustics. Basses aren't clear and crystal, mids and heights are just "meh". Therefore I rate my overall experience as 3 out of 5.

Went there for lunch. Excellent variety of delicious fresh food and wonderful staff. If I could make just one suggestion, I might say having condiments (olive oil, sauces, salt and pepper etc) on each table instead of on only one table, would be a great idea. It was a pain having to find these!

The fact that 1001 is divided in 3 spaces really gives you the chance to move through different spaces and change your mood. I would highly recommend this place to chill during the day (especially from outside you could see banksy and Shepard fairey's Street art which are located in the alley nearby). During the night you can dance there, but my favourite spot is the middle area where the music is soooo good!

I went there on a Sunday morning for a cup of coffee, after my walk around the Bricklane. I was fascinated by the music and the fact that there were djs spinning the vinyls even at the morning! The coffee was not that great (I didn't expect too much actually) but the combination of the vibes, the people and the area was really good in general.

I visited Bar 1001 for an recent event. There were street stalls outside selling yummy grilled food, mainly burgers and there was a sandwich shop that sold beers inside. Bar 1001 has a typical Shoreditch décor with a rough arty warehouse vide and has a big main room perfect for big events. Drinks are cheap , there’s lots of comfy sofas, a DJ and big TVs down stairs. Great vide and worth a look if you are in the area.
