Great little cafe we've been going to for years. Not on the menu, but still available last time I asked for is the Pizzete Algerie. Which is like a mini pizza on bread with capers and anchovies. Otherwise, I recommend the grilled sardines.

This is a review of Cafe St Germain's breakfast; it's excellent. The coffee is some of the best in the Crystal Palace area, the orange juice is fresh, and the cooked breakfast (pictured) is generous and nice - it's nothing super special (the sausage especially wasn't anything to write home about) but it does the job on a weekend morning. The service is thoughtful and relatively fast.

Great coffee. Juicy omelette and proper French fries. Lovely seating area- small but secure with an iron grill...Next to a flower shop so you can enjoy the flowers( the cafe has its own pretty snapdragons in a window box). Perfect coffee brandy with fresh cream. Slightly pricey, but staff are efficient and friendly. Will visit again.

I have been going to this little cafe for the last 20 years! They have great eggs benedict and wonderful coffee. It's a little shabby around the edges these days but still my favorite place to sit outside and watch the world go by... wonderful service, a pillar of Crystal Palace community history. I love it.

Came across the café on a first wander up to Crystal Palace...interesting options for breakfast/brunch and a very decent french coffee...will return ...loses a point for the service which took a while to kick in with no apology or explanation and a loud screamy child...though the latter was more to do with a father lacking control than and absent maitre'd

I had just gone for a jog around the park and was in dire need of a good breakfast. I went to the first cafe that was open, not expecting too much to be honest. When I first went in I was instantly welcomed and felt very relaxed in the lovely interior. The music playing was perfect for the cafe, and I felt like I had walked into a very upscale restaurant in Paris. When I ordered, the man behind the counter told me unfortunately it was too early for food, but I was welcome to have a coffee and wait half an hour for food to be served. I was more than happy to since, to their credit, I had walked in just minutes after they opened. I ordered a caramel latte and sat down, enjoying the view and the supposed regulars who came in and were already greeted with their usual order. When my latte came I, once again, didn’t expect too much. I should have thought better, the latte was so incredible I can honestly say it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had! And I’m a caffeine nut, so I’ve tried just about every mainstream coffee place and many others. I enjoyed my drink and the music, and waited for when I could order my food. I was then surprised by the waiter bringing my food over ten minutes early! Not only did they remember my order, they prepared it without me having to go and order it. The waiter was very polite, asked if I wanted anything else, and said to enjoy my meal. And enjoy I bloody did! I had eggs royal, and I had to force myself not to eat it faster. It was incredible. When I finished up, the man behind the counter came and collected my plate and asked, with a charming smile, if I enjoyed my food. When I paid, he sent me off with wishes of a good day. Not uncommon, but it felt so genuine and warm. I left with a huge smile on my face, and a belly full of delicious food. I can’t believe I just had such a lovely experience for not that much money at all. And I’m a student, so I’m not saying that lightly. I really look forward to visiting again with friends and family. I struggle to eat out alone due to anxiety, but for the first time I enjoyed my experience with no anxiety to speak of. So, I will also be visiting again alone. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I don't usually write reviews, but I can't not sing the praises of this cafe. As a vegan, I forgot to inform the chef that I couldn't eat dairy products and when my food arrived I discovered my sandwich had been covered in mayo. Despite this being completely my fault not to inform them of my requirements, they were more than happy to remake the sandwich without the added ingredients. In my experience, most places might rightly refuse. The staff genuinely couldn't have been better. Great food, drinks and customer service. I will without doubt, be returning.

Further update... Searching desperately for a coffee on the triangle at 6.30 in the morning, discovered that Cafe St Germain is the ONLY establishment open. Not only that, it's much improved and accompanied by possibly the best croissants in the area. This place is a bit of a gem to be honest. Simple, tasty and honest food well served.
