Reviews of Coffee Circus
E. A. G.
Had a lovely brunch here this weekend. Staff were friendly and there was a great selection of enticing meals to choose from. The food came out quickly and was as delicious as it appears (pictured below). I recommend trying one of their fresh juice options - I had the carrot, apple and lemon mix and it went down a treat.
The only downside was the seating area - there really isn't much space for parties of more than two or three. Depending on where you sit, leg room for taller guests may be an issue. Other than that, I highly recommend this lovely cafe.
K. M.
Such a sweet place, and an extra treat if you manage to get a little table by the cosy red theatre bench. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Came for lunch and was a tiny bit disappointed with the food considering the price - the wrap was very small and the side salad was a clump of lettuce straight out the bag. But the drinks made up for it and I'll definitely go again.
L. M.
This is an exquisite little gem of a cafe just off Crouch End Broadway. The food was lovely and the atmosphere unhurried and intimate. The coffee was also great.
K. K.
Super cute place and really great coffee. Whenever we go to Crouch End we stop by.
J. M.
We had a lovely cappuccino and apple juice here earlier on. They have a decent selection of pastries and the cafe itself is really atmospheric, there's a rustic, hipstery feel to a place. However, it's quite expensive (£7.10 for a cappuccino and an apple juice) and some of their staff have a bit of an attitude...
C. W.
The best coffee in crouch end. Good coffee , nice and simply decorated , an unassuming and laid back coffee place to read the newspaper , check some emails or just a friendly chat with the baristas. Been going there for 10 years!
M. G. B.
This is a cozy place. The staff is really friendly.
Good coffe, nice selection of teas and lots of juices choices.
The cakes are awesome and almost all n of them vegan.
The menu it is simple and the food look relly yummy but I didn't try anything yet.
L. B.
The food and drinks were absolutely spot on once they arrived. However, it was a full hour between ordering and food arriving and it arrived one plate at the time meaning our table had finished their food by the time the final plate arrived. Pretty frustrating to see deliveroo orders jumping the queue every time over customers who have made the effort to come and sit in the cafe. If you can’t fulfil the orders in house, don’t accept deliveroo orders!
W. K.
Nice cosy independent local specialty coffee shop with very good coffee. Warm and friendly with decent selection of food items too. Definitely worth dropping by for a break when in the area.
A. P.
Finally, I can now tell what the hype was about. Loved the ambiance and vibe. The staff was helpful and pleasant. My flat white was flavoursome and at the right temperature. I also had the avocado toast, which was served on delicious sourdough. If I were picky I'd say that the plate was a little narrow but the taste definitely compensated for it. 😇
K. P.
Very nice and cosy place, great for reading and some quite time. The only negative was the pancakes i ordered which tasted like the ones made from the pancake mix rather then home made and the maple syrup didn't really taste or look like maple syrup. I saw someone order avocado on toast and it looked really good so will be back for that.
C. S.
Absolutely my favourite coffee shop in North London. Lovely soup served with sourdough toast for lunch. Great coffee, and a wide selection of teas!
P.
great coffee, friendly staff and cosy place.
A.
The best coffee shop in the area! Delicious flat white! Friendly and welcoming staff. It's always a pleasure to visit and we miss it very much having moved out of Crouch End recently.
P. R.
This is probably the best coffee shop in Crouch End. I am a regular. Excellent selection of coffees, fresh roasts, full beans or ground, served by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The space is very intimate and quirky, in an old fashion retro style. Great cakes too. Have a coffe, have a cake. Take coffee circus home.
J. L.
Food took ages to come. All good quality products but my poached eggs had hard yokes. That was a big disappointment. The bread was also quite heavy not light and soft. Coffee was good.
J. B.
Best coffee in Crouch End! Nice brunch dishes at the weekend - I love the poached eggs, avocado and chilli on toast. Nice selection of cakes and pastries too, plus they sell fresh coffee beans (which they can grind for you if you wish).
N. M.
Nice small coffee shop in Crouch End that serves up delicious coffee with a decent food menu. They have a selection of pastries and cake in the cabinets and hot food selections such as a full English, bacon and egg rolls, eggs benedict and avo on toast.
They have 9 or so tables inside and it's spaced out enough for social distancing. In winter it's nice and warm and the service is always friendly.
For children they have baby chinos and hot chocolate.
X. C.
Sunny, excellent coffee, good music
B. C.
Delightful place - intimate, good coffee, and some nice dogs from time to time - but (and this is true of most similar places in Crouch End and beyond)- the music, although not particularly loud, is the usual dogged pop and doesn't contribute to the otherwise sophisticated style of the place - there is a world of soft jazz, world and mood music - I'm getting old and can't take the millennial whoops any more. But if you like 'pop' this is a great place to go.
R. T.
Pretty good selection of coffee as well as pastries / sandwiches.
l. w.
Cute coffee shop. I'm becoming a bit of a regular!
T. K.
Excellent coffee. Shame about the minimum charge to pay by card - and the refusal to just charge me “whatever that minimum is”..
something about the law (really?)
I was in a rush, I wanted a decent coffee.. don’t judge me.
I decided it was easier to buy the next customer a coffee instead, which is silly that it’s necessary but it seemed to make his day at least! Yay feels!
D. W.
The best in Crouch End. Staff are friendly, helpful and maticulous. The atmousphere (decor/music) has a mixture of soft energy with some international decor which makes it charming. The coffee itself is of real quality and come with a complimetary biscuit. Any food produce (partucularly the peacan chocolate brownie) is high quality and reasonably priced.
R. H.
This place does some of the best coffee in London. I have been to hundreds of coffee shops and some of the best in the world (Barn, Prufrock, Kaffeine) and this is certainly right up there, in fact I would say it is possible the best. Located a little out the way in Crouch End it serves locals and those using the recording studio opposite predominantly, but it you are ever in the area it is well worth the trip. Excellent, excellent coffee.
I. L.
Visited this afternoon and went for a coffee and a brownie. Disappointed to see the barista's reaction to the question of whether the brownie was suitable for vegetarians. He looked puzzled and responded with a "I do not know.". I expected coffee of a much higher quality and the music was quite loud, so not ideal if you want to work or read. On a more positive note, staff were friendly and café was clean and cosy.
D. A.
Nice, friendly little Crouch End coffee place.
M. W.
Took time to bring my breakfast and coffee but overall they're ok. Up to ten minutes was taken before I received my meal. I had to ask three waiters what was happening; also a customer came in some minutes after me and received their order before mine. But as I said, once the meal was received I enjoyed it.
J. Y.
My wife and I came in yesterday to get a bacon butty and scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and avocado. The butty and coffee I had was good, but her hot chocolate was way too sweet, and her portion for 9 quid for the toast was way too small with just a small dollop of avocado, two small eggs and a few ok rashers of bacon. What's worst was that she immediately in a few hours felt very sick, and even now is quite sick. The only thing she ate the last 48 hours that I didn't have was the eggs and avocado, so I must ask the standards here if it's clean or in-date for your produce. Sorry, but have to call it out.
C. L.
Really nice cafe. One of the best Crouch End. Good selection of drinks and food. Particularly refreshing juices and smoothies available too. Slightly pricey but standard for the area.
M. C.
Excellent coffee and pastries. Extra points for being open during the xmas hols!
L. S.
I've been here several times but have decided to get my coffee elsewhere. Yes the coffee is good and the food is okay, but I've always found the staff flat and a little bit awkward.
Regarding the staff: each visit they have been inattentive and on numerous occasions they have ignored customers at the counter - not even an acknowledgment until they decide when they're ready.
J. B.
Gluten-free cakes (the mocha one is a tasty one) and coffees (wonderful flat white) in a very small, chaotic, charming place right in the middle of mid-class Victorian Crouch End neighborhood. More coffee and cake shops nearby. Longing to come back again.
C. C.
Great coffee, very adaptable to suit dietary requirements. Barista's are well trained in the less commonly ordered coffees.
M. H.
For rating the espresso it is a 10/10. Best in the area. Full flavour. Service isn't fantastic and space can be limited but perfect spot for real espresso fans.
S. W.
Coffee nice. Service good. A loud Ozzy in full-hipster was holding court at the front of the café with some demi-hipsters. At the back there were more of the general crouch end wealthy.
P. T. (.
Coffee was good (and cakes looked too but we didn't try) but it's a small place and there was not much space for knees under the table we got at the back (seems to be an old sewing table)
L. O.
Charming and wonderful. Huge selection of gluten-free cakes to accompany their wonderful coffee. Friendly staff and cute decor. <3
F. D. J. M.
Simply the BEST coffee in Crouch End, (As far as I am aware!) followed by Beam. Cosy and nice homely atmosphere and good light snacks. A little treasure!
a. c.
Taste coffee , for me it more the enough . Small and nice place
M. T.
Great coffee (one of the best in Crouch End, if not THE best). Yummy, reasonably priced brunch options and great vegan/ GF options, too.
A. C.
Friendly staff that make you feel welcome and one of the best Mochas I've had in a long time!.
M. B.
Delicious coffee, people who work there are incredibly nice. You can even get a yummy breakfast if you like. I highly recommend it.
J. R.
Great local coffee place, best coffee I’ve had in London. Nice warm ambience, and the pastries are pretty good too!
J. B.
Coffee is high quality and the baristas are knowledgeable and friendly. The seating area at the back is pretty cosy but can get a bit busy at weekends, get there early for a decent coffee and breakfast.
S. L.
The best place for coffee in Crouch End. Regular here as the coffee is great and they sell good beans, interior is shabby but charming, very popular with locals.
X. D.
Nice friendly place. Not the best coffee for my liking, hence the 4 stars.
M. T.
Good quality of coffee. Never disappoint me with my flat white. Great customer service too. Must try
T. D.
The coffee was A MAZING! The best I have ever tasted, great food, friendly staff, chilled atmosphere, very positive experience.
I. B.
Fantastic breakfast menu: I tried nearly all the options and you can't go wrong with any of them. The French toast lacked some crunch, but tasted fine otherwise.
J. B.
I should say I hate it so it won't become too busy but it's a lovely spot with great coffee and a good range of nice food. Service can be a little flaky sometimes but they mean well.
D. H.
better than the local competition
A. P.
Amazing coffee shop in the middle of Crouch End. It's cosy and warm, love how it is decorated. The coffee is very tasty. Definitely recommended if you are a coffee lover
B. W.
Without doubt the best coffee in Crouch End. Excellent service and cosy seating. Can get busy at peak times but only because it's totally worth it!
D. H.
Nice tiny place with very good coffee and a young and artistic ambience. The food is delicious and served very slowly. A nice place for an occasional getaway.
A. S.
