C. C.What can I say? The proof is in the name: "De Vine" is absolutely that!
Not only do the staff treat you like family from the moment you step in the door, but the deliciousness of the food matches the quality of service. My traveling companion and I enjoyed a piping-warm, hearty breakfast at an incredibly decent price.
There's a genuine, home-cooked, hand-crafted quality to every dish. For example, the salmon carried an extra hint of "smokiness", giving it a pleasant flavor and texture somewhere between sashimi and grilled.
Located under the bridge, De Vine is a true hidden gem in London and well worth the visit for a classic, British breakfast, no matter what you're craving. (I'd certainly be a regular if I didn't live "across the pond.")
P. H.This place actually deserves seven stars out of five because that's how good it is. Food is reasonably priced and very good portions. The coffee is fantastic and about half the price of anywhere else nearby. But what makes this place special is how attentive and considerate the owner is. We mentioned casually that we had some time to kill in London, and were then given good advice on where to visit and what we could do there. This might not sound overwhelming, but I was impressed that, during a busy lunch time, the owner took the time to share his knowledge. Well worth a visit if you want a tasty meal at a very good price.

As a vegetarian I tend to adapt as needs be but when I mentioned this - there was no issue whatsoever with guaranteeing no cross-contamination. The food was lovely & very reasonable. The clientelle were a mix of office & building workers who appeared to be regulars & chatted familiarly which created a nice atmosphere. The man in charge was a gentleman- no hesitation recommending for a hearty breakfast

R. T.What a find! Worth venturing off the tourist route to find this gem. Probably the best welcome I have ever received. Made to feel very special. Nothing was to much trouble. The fresh baps were delicious, I had sausage and bacon in mine. My husband had the De Vine breakfast. This restaurant is used by all the locals and that is a prime indicator for good food and value for money.
Quite simply worth a short walk from Tower Hill underground, to go to this restaurant.

A. H.My family of 8 people were staying a few nights in the local Travelodge, in London for the Marathon. Their breakfast was disgusting. The second night we had breakfast in Neverspoons. I remember now why we boycotted there.
Day three we were determined to have a nice breakfast.
A matter of yards away from our hotel we found the De Vine cafe & the reviews were excellent.
From the start we were met by the welcoming & enthusiastic manager, and we knew from all the locals in there the food must be good.
A great menu which they're happy to adjust if you have requests. The chef was quick and food was delicious. Hash browns are hot and crunchy! Who knew!?
The quality & price are unrivalled in the area. If you're staying in Tower Hill area and you want a great breakfast this is absolutely the place to go. Such lovely people too. 100% recommended

M. M.This place is divine (hehe, no regrets) and I would say you have to have it. Everything is delicious!!! The owner's are very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. It's quite kid friendly and everything is under £10.00, but the actual food and proportions are huge!!! You have to try it. It is also clean, large, quaint and comfortable. They have a range of foods and drink. There's a reason there are no one or two star ratings.

S.What a great place! Walking in you might be confused about this restaurant, but rest assure the service and food will quickly change your mind. We were greeted extremely politely and even told we probably would need a bigger table if we were to eat because the plates are so big! They sure didn't mislead that! A proper English breakfast and some coffees came out in no time at all! I would recommend to all travelers around London and to the business locals they are missing out of they haven't gave De Vine a try! Thanks and if we're ever in London again I'll be sure to stop back in!

S.on our first trip to london, we discovered this place way too late. it's tucked away on a tiny little street and is easily missed. that unsettled feeling that you have when traveling? somehow this place and the awesome bearded man who runs it totally erases it. he welcomes you inside as if you are the queen, makes sure you sit at the best table to spread out your newspaper, thoroughly explains the menu, tells you what's most delectable, brings you hot steaming cappuccino in huge mugs. the portions are huge and delicious. nothing like the starbucks across the street where you could wring out the grease from the breakfast sandwich. when we go back, we will likely stay in the 'city of london' neighborhood again, in part to eat breakfast here every day. it's absolutely perfect.

Had the traditional english breakfast. These British know how to start the day, it was a tonne of food. Two eggs, a pork sausage, two pieces of bacon (british style so Yanks be warned, don't go postal if they are not crisp!) mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomato and toast!! Food was excellent, but again for the Americans, the sausage will have a smoother consistency compared to over the pond. Did I mention this was a lot of food, they gave the wife and I a heaping plate of toast too just to make the stomach seams bulge a bit more.
Oh, and the coffee is top notch here as well, large real cups too.
The decor, meh, the location, a bit scary on the outside as it is located under an overpass but don't let it bother you just show up hungry with a few pounds and you'll leave with a few pounds.

Sid is never without a big sincere smile to welcome you in. He somehow remembers my favorite food even if i have been away months. He must talk to half of London every day - but always remembers what i like.
Everything is spotlessly clean and the whole team are always on the go to welcome tourists and locals alike.
It's not difficult to see how (with the effort put in) but they have managed to bring the comfort of a local family run place together with the variety of a full diner, and if that wasn't enough - somehow the food comes out much quicker that the big name high-street chains can.
The best bit is it's in the city, it's so close to the tower - if you sneeze, a yeoman would probably say bless you.

Literally under the train tracks. Welcoming staff, great value, large portions, tasty food. Intrigued by the high online rating, I decided to skip the nearby offerings from chain restaurants and try something local. I highly recommend that you do, too.

F. E.Absolut unglaublich! Da braucht es einfach kein langes Blabla. Einfach super lecker und super freundlich und zuvorkommend auch bei der Bedienung. Lasst euch nicht vom äußeren bzw. Innendekor erschrecken. Es ist es echt echt wert hier zu frühstücken/ lunchen! Und noch dazu preislich super fair.
