Fabulous reviews and being a coffee fan it was an easy choice. There is only outside seating at the moment but we were lucky enough to get a table. The coffee was excellent as you would expect and I had a pastry while my other half had a bagel with cheese and marmite!! Which he loved The menu is quite extensive and everything is prepared fresh... Another reason for going... The fabulous mural painted across the front... Check it out

The staff at Ethical Bean are nothing short of legends. The coffee takes you to places you've never been before and the burgers take you back to your childhood. (The good parts). If you're looking for a caffeinated little cozy or just some banter over beans, Ethical Bean is the gaff for you. Don't pass through hackney without taking a moment bro enjoy a café at its finest.

Great coffee. Great service. My iced latte was too strong and when I raised this with Antonio, he quickly offered to make a new one for me which was much better. All the staff there were friendly and polite, they should keep that up as there's a lot of competition around in this area. The little things make the biggest difference. 4 stars as opposed to 5 because I think the prices are way too high, even for an ethical company. I personally couldn't justify a regular visit because the mark up is too much. Overall, it's a nice place. I look forward to trying the food one day.

Lovely to sit outside and soak up the east end Hackney vibes, situated in a soothing and relaxed area nearby the canal…. The insides are brown wooden furnishings adorned with green leaves… Regularly come for my chai latte which is always oaty, warming, foamy — just right!!… They also do delicious burgers and salad…… John, Kartik are great fab guys who treat their regulars well !!!

I’ve been here a few times now and it’s always been a lovely experience. They have a great range of veggie and vegan options, all served in a friendly and down to earth atmosphere. The people who work here are thoughtful and welcoming. Delicious vegan wraps, oat cappuccino and vegan peanut butter blondie ! I paid a visit to this wonderful cafe/restaurant after a recommendation and it was a little goldmine especially if you are vegetarian or vegan (no doubt where the ethics in the name derived from) Dax and owner Amit couldn't of greeted my companion and I more warmly! A pleasant surprise in this day and age where the customer is more likely to be an inconvenience let alone always right! The food was super delicious with a varied menu and especially delightful if you have adopted a more ethical diet as of late. Served on time and prepared to perfection I must mention the surroundings also. Furnished in a rustic and eclectic design it was a pleasure to be in and with a vibrant atmosphere where the staff knew most of the clientele by their first name the whole experience was so refreshing as to really stand out from the countless corporate and independent clones found everywhere nowadays. I would highly recommend a visit if you happen to be in East London, well worth try you won't be disappointed. I will definitely be going back!

Am and the team are always very nice. Good selection of local pastries. I am a coffee pleb but people say it's nice, and they remember my order which is good. Have had the vegan burger on a few occasions and enjoyed it quite a bit, there's a bit of extra effort like seasoning the fries and toasting the bun, that makes it better than a chain imo. Near the end of the greenway, handy for the canals and Victoria Park, pretty great overall. Once I saw a load of cops here and one of them had a big velcro Punisher patch on his stab vest. I wonder if he has ever read The Punisher. Anyway yes it's a good cafe

This is the best coffee in the neighbourhood. Everyone is extremely friendly that works here, so I love coming by. Best cafe in Hackney Wick. Ample selection of breakfast options and fresh coffees to choose from! Try their full English breakfast. The beans are done exceptionally well. Breakfast sandwiches are nice and light, and prepared with healthy ingredients (ie. not greasy). Location is still a cool part of London and true to the culture of Hackney area. Lots of interesting local artwork just outside.
