Reviews of Exmouth Coffee Company

Absolutely amazing breakfast. Highly recommend the French toast. Great coffee too, enjoy sitting outside on a warm day. Quickly little cafe, always try and pop here on a day in London. 10/10
P. D.
When I find good coffee, I keep going back. The coffee here is great. Fabulous selection of sandwiches and pastries on display. The staff are very friendly. Enjoyed my shakshuka this morning! It will set me up for the day.
C. L.
The lovely cafe is just near the station. The latte was good. The croissant was delicious and crispy.
J. W.
Cute little coffee shop with local charm, apparently an Aldgate mainstay. Lots of variety and choice, everything looked pretty fresh. Service was average.
Flat white delicious. The lemon and polenta loaf was a bit dry/crumbly and not very moist, but still decent.
E. C.
Lovely little cafe with great coffee, deli, and pastry items. The vibe is very relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating. Would recommend an oat chai and the veggie sandwich. Will be returning!
S. H. S.
good coffee, great food, service, and decor. a flat white while sitting in cost me 3.30 pounds though, which is expensive.

I’ve spent the entire coronavirus time trying to find the best coffee places across the city - I stumbled across this place and had to leave a review! The cappuccino foam was perfect (on both the dairy and non dairy options), it didn’t suddenly bubble or collapse, the density and the milk-coffee ratio was done to perfection. They were a good big size and looked beautiful too. Out of probably 50 coffee shops I’ve tried in London this one is in my top 5 for sure!
Haven’t tried the food but it all looks great, I do think more vegan options could make for a great improvement to their menus. Some simple changes could accommodate this in the dishes they already have.
But the quality of service and produce is top notch.

I can't recommend this place enough. Getting my breakfast from them is probably the only highlight of attending the office. Everytime I am in the office I pop to the place for the most delicious almond Croissant I have ever had, just crispy enough the way I love it. When I feel hungry, their chicken harissa or chicken pesto baguettes keep me full and satisfied.
P. S.
Pretty amazing coffee and really nice breakfasts. I missed a place to hang my coat, and wished my Eggs Benedict had a bit larger salad on side - but certainly seen other dishes were gorgeous too
F. Q.
Excellent breakfast and brilliant customer service. I went with family and thoroughly enjoyed the butter milk pancakes, quiche and beef sausage breakfast. I highly recommend this place - their service is with a real sincere smile.
G. J.
Good coffee - and the food looks excellent and freshly, attractively served. Eat in or take away. Furniture not in its first flush of youth. Very quick and efficient counter service but not what you would regard as gregarious. Tourists have left hundreds of paper souvenirs on the wall: worth a look!
J. P.
It’s a nice small venue with very friendly staff. Very tasty food. Highly recommend!
J. P.
Could not recommend more! It looks like nothing from the street but inside it's a cozy little place. I was there twice during a weekend trip to the city, that's how much I liked it. The food and coffee is great, the staff is really nice. I loved sitting at the table next to the kitchen and see a bit of the process.
It was worth asking about difference between types of juices, as some are prepared from a powder (makes a difference from me, as I preferred having it from fresh fruit).
P. K.
Was not disappointed. Local roasters, bakery and coffee shop. Great variety of breakfast options - huge plates of avocado, salmon, rocket and eggs. Really liked the coffee there. Good spot for morning espresso shot or breakfast if you stay nearby. Does not get as much publicity as the place next door but I believe it has a bit better value for money. Discounted coffee to go if you bring own mug.
Y. K.
Excellent pancakes, it’s become a tradition to visit this spot every couple of weeks. The chef, Hassan is lovely, greets with a smile from across the kitchen!
K. M.
Great spot right by Aldgate East Station.
Deceptively large space with some good seating options. Very friendly service and great coffee which is smooth and well rounded.
8 & 12 oz take away options which is good. There’s also a good selection of salads, savouries and cakes - I went for the Vegan Lemon Slice which was AMAZING!
J.
Ok, bit of a hidden gem this one. Great homemade items ranging from poached eggs on sourdough, to quiche, to cookies. Good coffee. Seats have a partial view of the busy kitchen. My only slight niggle was the seating, whilst visually on point for the aesthetic "rustic/industrial" were a touch uncomfortable. But the food was great, so it gets an easy 5 stars.
K. S.
Fantastic coffee shop. They have a great vibe and an amazing selection of food. It’s all mouthwatering and when you walk in you can’t help but feel a little hungry. It’s almost impossible to walk out without a quiche or yummy cake.
Service is quick and the staff are helpful and friendly. They also have a fantastic selection of teas!
H.
The breakfast was delicious and the customer services was amazing will definitely go again.

This coffee shops adjacent to Whitechapel gallery is oddly anonymously. There's no sign outside to indicate the name of the cafe. However, the cafe is unmistakable. It's appealing arrangement of food displayed when taking a glance through the shop window to see the beautifully laid out food inside. This little cafe serves lots of delicious (and fantastic looking) snacks, cakes, pastries, brownies in the shape of muffin, sandwiches, flatbread sandwiches etc.
The coffee is pretty good, but a little expensive for what you get especially if it's just for a morning coffee to take away.
T. T.
So great! I come here to start my mornings. They have the best Chai Latte I've ever had. If you come in early enough, you can catch the smells of fresh baked goods. Staff is friendly.
Location is quite convenient, just a min walk from the metro.
Wifi is accessible and quite reliable.
I am visiting from the States.
A. P.
Absolutely loved this spot. Came upon it by accident and was blown away. I had the French toast which was incredible. I loved the bakery. It's a perfect coffee and cake (or brunch) to end a weekend in London.
M.
Delicious. 5 stars. The chef mafe a perfect superp excellent breakfast. The cappuccino was got, may ne needs some improvements but this is complaining on a higher level. The food gets 10 stars. Fully recommend this spot.
M. D.
Nice coffeeshop in aldgate. The staff is welcoming and helpful and the coffe I had was very tasty. They have a wide selection of pastries which seemed very good.
G. B.
This was a nice find. There is no name on the store front but the place looks very inviting. Service was quite despite the queue. There is ample seating space even though it is a bit cramped. Food was a bit bland for my taste. I tried the chicken harissa wrap which I expected to be a bit spicy. Will definitely go again and this time try the Eggs Benedict, which looked yum.
j. m.
Had a few breakfasts here last days, lovely crowd. Friendly staff, good food.
T. U.
This cafe is an absolutely perfect hipster haven for those looking for a nice, cosy cafe with good food and homely atmosphere; this is the place for you. From adorable, fan drawn art on the wall, brilliant customer service with a smile and delicious dessert right down to the aesthetics. This place may not look like much from the outside but I can assure you that it really is a treasure inside. Although I must say; it does lean slightly on the pricier side if you looking for a quick cup of coffee. Definitely worth a try!
Z.
Brilliant coffee (only reason I'd ever visit again!), the salmon bun was lovely - however it's so ridiculously crowded in there that you barely get to enjoy it. You'd think they would invest in more seating, there's plenty of room for more - instead you need to compete, negotiate or rush for a seat. Not the friendliest service either, a bit dull, moody and lacking. Not worth the hype.
V. B.
Great food as always. Breakfast and coffee are always amazing.
M. H. T.
Amazing brunch food and sweets with vegan and vegetarian options available. Everything we ordered was delicious. Limited seats inside but it's about 40p cheaper per piece to take away anyway.
K. P.
My favourite local coffee place. Fresh food, good coffee and local atmosphere. Some staff can be east end kid of grumpy, but most of them are nice and friendly. Thanks and see you soon again.
J. L.
Gorgeous coffee and snacks. I have just been to this nice cafe in Whitechapel. I ordered a Canelé and a red velvet cheesecake. They were delicious and surprisingly not too sweet. The coffee that they sell are more expensive than the coffee chains down the road but they taste better. The place is small and can be very busy during the lunch time.
K. S.
Favourite coffee shop in the area, I grab a flat white at Exmouth at least once a week. The brunch options and bakes are also fantastic 👌
L. S.
Really good and unique place for coffee and food. Plenty of options which are delicious and lots of yummy treats. Coffee taste good here as well. Staff are nice and helpful.
A. K.
Exmouth is one of those safe havens tucked away amongst the hustle and bustle of the high street. With super cute and friendly staff, the service is near impeccable. From the hand drawn images and notes left by customers on the walls to the amazingly delicious comfort food, Exmouth truly has it all. 💞
C. J.
Only popped in for a quick latte but I wish I could've stayed longer. Perfection.
S. L.
Love the way they present the food. Various food choice and great taste. I love their flat white with strong coffee flavor.
P. v. d. B.
High quality, speedy service, coffee at pritty high price. Pastries and food taste like it's presented. Small place so not always a spot ... to go is an option ...
A.
One of the best places to work, study, eat breakfast, drink coffee or/and hang out with friends. A wide choice of desserts, croissants, cakes or cookies. Staff is always willing to advice on food or coffee. One of my favorite cafes in London!
A. L.
Really good breakfast and great service. They even cleared a table for us (for 5 people) when there were singles sitting alone. Prices are okay considering.... food and drinks kept coming to the table immediately when they got ready, so no hot stuff served cold even though the house was full. Worth for second round!
S. T.
Trendy little cafe offering good coffee, food and cakes. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It's nice to find a coffee shop which is not a big chain as it has its own character and feels more personal. The broccoli, peppers and aubergine quiche was one of the best I've ever had. The carrot cake muffin was moist and yummy too. Wheelchair access: It's step-free to get in but I was so engrossed in the food I forgot to check if there were disabled toilets. I guess it just means I have an excuse to come back to try everything else on the menu :)
i. m.
Excellent food and cakes. Only but is the reduced number of tables and seats and the fact that they are very uncomfortable. Nowhere to hang your coat
Y. H.
French toast and latte are so gooood!
C. S.
I was here with my friends and we totally loved it. There's so much to choose from: salads, breakfast, bread, muffins, quiche... everybody will find something. Also perfect for veggies and vegans;)
I'd totally recommend it and I'll be back!
B. G.
One of my favourite cafés in London. So cosy, food's amazing, excellent choice of drinks (particularly recommended lavender tea with flourless chocolate cake...!), and waitresses and waiters are super nice.
C. F.
Good food and excellent service. I bought a quiche which was excellent, accompanied by an equally tasty mixed salad, all of which were delivered with a smile. After that I really wanted a filter coffee rather than an espresso and the friendly guy in charge made one for me. Wow. Am I really in London?
C. B.
Amazing place, tiny little shop with loads to offer, the food is so good here. Quite busy with not many seats but if there's a queue it's worth it.
G.
The service was a bit rude, the coffee is very underwhelming but I'll certainly agree the pastries are delightful.
B. B.
Nice coffee and cake - just a quick stop. Staff friendly and accommodating.
A. A.
Busy breakfast cafe with a wide selection of pastries, conveniently located near Aldgate East station
W. P.
great little place! it was nearby to where we were staying and would highly recommend to anybody for breakfast, or lunch. great coffee and very extensive menu. large portions with good quality ingredients and reasonable prices in compare to London’s standards.
a. m.
Amazing coffee and amazing staff. Warm and cosy, definitely a vibrant place to be in to relax when the winter kicks in!
K. L.
This review is specifically for the granola for breakfast (for those fellow granola lovers). The granola is a barely-toasted-almost-meuseli style of granola atop a plain style yogurt (vs Greek style). Tons of delicious fruit mixed in. Overall it wasn't to my taste and I'd take a pass and I'd try a different menu item next time.
J. H.
Chilled out coffee place serving delicious pastries and hot sandwiches coffee and juices, they have veggie options too. Staff were very nice and food great all homemade from the shop
R.
Fresh bakery,cakes,coffee & cool vibes...All I need is here! :))
B. B.
The best flat white around Aldgate East. Also, love the interior vibe, with global banknotes filling up the walls
D. G.
Great place to sit and chill, pastries and coffee are really nice. Can occasionally get really busy during the lunch rush so seating is hard to get hold of.
Staff are really friendly especially Jos who's always great to have a chat with.
M. N.
Great food and coffee although I wish it could've come slightly sooner
Good halal brunch
Y. S.
So tasty. I tried the aubergine quiche and it was lovely. Not many vegan options but the falafel courgette sandwich was good.
A. E.
The food has a good quality with normal London prices. The seating is a little small, but it's all part of its vibe. The stall was also nice, helpful and not too intrusive
E. K.
We had all our breakfasts at Exmouht while visiting London. Broad selection of delicious breakfasts and very friendly staff! We had such a lovely start for our days in London there! Love you!
J. K. M.
Cute little coffee shop right off of the Aldgate Eat tube stop. Can be easy to miss given that there's no sign but a great way to start your day. Pastries and baked goods are excellent as is the capuccino. Fantastic place
K. D.
Coffee is just brilliant and croissants are great, especially croque monsier croissant which is really moist thanks to bechamel sauce. The barista was not very friendly though but perhaps she was just sleepy as I was there early in the morning ;)
M. W.
Always a great spot for coffee and brunch
L. L.
Went there to work with my friends but constantly got discourteous vibes from the waitress of us staying there for too long. Made us feel really unwelcome. Food and coffee were both okay, not outstanding. Don't think I'd go back there again though.
Y. M.
Great place for breakfast! I recommend the menu, it’s full of veg, yummy options!
Л. В.
Really nice place, just wish they had more vegan options!
E. P.
Good vibes, friendly service, great choice of food and excellent coffee.
T. O.
It's worth it! Very appealing and tasteful. Both the food and the restaurant.
M. G.
Nice place for coffee and food. Liked it very much
A. A.
We had to wait for a very long time because our waitress forgot our order :(
the food was good but we didn’t have the best experience...
A. S.
It is such a nice and cozy atmosphere inside. Staff is always very friendly and food even though is quite simple but always fresh and tasty.
J. Y.
Excellent coffee and rich choices of breakfast. We had 2 different quiches and they are both wonderful. Cappuccino is really really tasty. Soft form and good espresso. I would like to visit more time to have through the whole menu.
S. L.
Great place for both meal and coffee, very comfortable
M. B.
Yummy pancakes and good latte.
N. S.
Lovely cute place, with delicious food! The variety of fresh Mediterranean salads and sandwiches are great and the breakfast is delicious too, as-well as their beverages namely the orange and carrot fresh juice and cappuccino. Great also for those that want halal! (Personally, I think it’s better than grounded.. if not the same, with added benefit of not having to wait in a crazy line as with grounded..)
C. F.
Great place for breakfast, gluten free options, very friendly service and nice atmosphere.
M. L.
Good food, decent prices, great service
D. B.
Great, trendy place with delicious brunch, sandwiches, cakes, and coffee. When it hits, the food is absolutely delicious, making it feel like a properly quality joint. However, some items fall short which make it seem a bit half-arsed. Also, and I admit this could be unique to me, the staff look at me like I'm a dummy anytime I ask them for anything, albeit in a slightly bashful way.
F. E.
I had a chai and my fiancé had the flat white. Both served at perfect temperature and delicious. I was a bit jealous of the flat white though as I tasted it and wished I'd had one too, probably the best I've had in the last few months
S. D.
Chilled cosy place, excellent coffee, quirky cafe, reasonable price. Friendly service. Staff wearing a face mask.
C. M.
Amazing Cafe!!
After I have had two times breakfast here, I’m so appreciate, thanks you guys very much. Have a nice day : )
q. A.
The best breakfast ever in the UK and smoothie. Love this place. Cakes are nice too and quiche
E. K.
Great place with alternative coffee and wall with painting from visitors
U. W.
Such a pleasant, inviting atmosphere. Mocha was great; strong with a nice chocolate taste. We could have sat and talked for hours if they didn't have to close. The baristas and waitresses were friendly and welcoming. The wall taped with mementos, writing and drawings added such character to the place. Definitely would love to go back.
M. S.
Loved it, fantastic staff, great dessert selection.
J. H.
Exmouth Coffee Company is a cute, industrial-style cafe. I can see the hipsters hanging out here. It certainly has some charm. I had a freshly-squeezed orange juice which was good, and a chocolate fudge cake bar which was very rich and oozy. I probably wouldn't choose the cake again, but there was a large selection of other things to try! Perfect for a drink and a chat, and they're open reasonably late.
王.
The pie was so good. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
i.
Always great food. Try the daily soup. My favorite is the pumpkin with goat cheese, pumpkin seeds and fresh basil.
J. S.
Fresh juice, fresh pie and cake, delicious moment spent in this small Cafe
k. A.
Great place to sit and have a coffee, friendly staff who are happy to help.
I could easily sit here for a couple of hours on my laptop or with a book.
n. k.
Nice atmosphere. Friendly stuffs.
D. S.
This is the cutest little coffee shop and has delicious treats. I was there for a business meeting and we found a cozy table towards the back and camped out for over an hour. The scene is relaxed and fun. The flat white and tea were both great too! Definitely a great experience and i will be happy to go again!
J. L.
Great sandwiches, good coffee and tea, and a fantastic atmosphere, decoration. Staff is simply superb
L. E.
Couldn't resist having savoury and sweet treats for brunch. The spread of food is beautifully displayed and the cafe is decorated in a cool-gritty style. The kitchen is open to see and they were busy preparing mountains of amazing looking salads ready for lunch. All the food was of a high standard and the service was friendly and prompt. Definitely worth a detour.
C. G.
I've been here a few times, and I really want to rate it higher. The decor is fun, the cakes and salads are all lovely, the staff are really friendly and couldn't be more helpful. But every coffee I've had there has been burnt. They need to level up their staff a bit on coffee making and it would be an easy five stars.
R. A.
A café where you can have delicious pancakes for dinner? Sign me up. No, really, they were among the best I've had, and everything else I've tried here has been similarly good and decently priced. The atmosphere is also nice if you want to just sit down with a cup of coffee and do some work, and they tend to play fun music (but any place where I get to hear Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode is bound to win me over).
M. K.
Lovely coffee shop with plenty of food options - coffee and food was great
G. T.
Very smooth nice coffee, trendy place, quite expensive. I'm not a huge fan of leaving such a wide array of cakes, pastries and savoury snacks out on the counter all day. An almond croissant home-filled with frangipan was lovely but lemon polenta cake was a dry, crumbly slab and too big as a portion. Better to charge 1/3 less for 1/3 smaller piece. Generous portions are nice but it's not value, you're still paying generous prices.
S. M.
Delicious sandwiches, good coffee (Soy Latte) in a special and unique atmosphere.
L. A.
Great coffee /tea and cake. Pleasant staff.
K. N.
Mediterranean avocado toast with pistachio dukka and poached egg. 👌
K. G.
These guys never fail to amaze me with their absolutely delicious food and incredible coffee. The inside decor is also super cute and I could spend hours looking at all the posts and art from people all over the world on their wall. I went for the hummus and roasted veg flatbread, toasted fresh! Can't wait to come back to try something sweet their red velvet cheesecake brownie always catches my eye when I walk past but I'm yet to try it!
M. R.
Lovely coffee and pastries staff are friendly and efficient
d. E.
Fantastic vegetarian quiche from a lovely cafe with pleasant staff.
No name on the all black front.
P.
Fast becoming my favourite place for lunch. The food is great quality and the salads are generous and delicious. I would go here everyday if it wasn't a little over my budget for lunch. You should live within your means, I'm looking at all the vacuist hipsters paying 3 quid for a tiny coffee. How you feel today will not reflect how you will feel in 20 years time. You will wish that you never wasted so much. Be kind to animals.
P. A. C. R.
Delicious pastries and coffee
D. P.
Their house coffee paired with croissant or their specialty toasties makes the best combination. True quality taste of East London. Highly recommend!
I. S.
Fantastic little coffee shop, which mysteriously does not have a sign outside at the moment :) but you cannot miss it because of the gorgeous display of pastries and cakes in the window.
They certainly have mastered the art of making coffees and baked goods. A bit expensive, but as a special treat, it’s totally worth it. Their almond croissants are the best in the area!
Keep in mind that if you want to pay by card - the minimum spend is £5. Otherwise you better have some cash with you ;)
I loved the drawings of coffee and local sights on the walls downstairs by the toilets :) As there is only one toilet, it’s quite entertaining to read all the notes and look at the drawings if you have to queue ;)
R. Z.
One of my favourite coffee places in London, it's really easy to walk past because it's so discreet and doesn't have a sign..and that's what makes it so special. You've got to have been a customer before to know what it's called. Otherwise most people wouldn't know about it. Makes you feel special. Like it's your secret. It's so good here and it's so discreet and that's what makes it.
V. M.
Quite cosy little cafe with good coffee, decor and friendly staff. Only down side is it's quite noisy inside
M.
Great coffee, great food, great people, fantastic ambience.
It's one of those places that doesn't need to brag about itself or need flashing lights, etc. as the place and people sell itself!
If you know about it, consider yourself amongst the fortunate and blessed...
Highly recommended.
=)
T. O.
The sweetest staff and the best salads in town!! The sandwiches are so good too, and there's a lot of choice. Have not tasted the coffee and cakes yet but it looks delicious too <3
J. H.
Delicious coffee and mouthwatering pastries and sandwiches for all to see from the window. I must have consumed triple digits of flat whites from this place since 2013, and I don't think I have yet been disappointed by any one of them. The space has a convivial atmosphere and a perfect place to while away sometime before or after visiting the Whitechapel Gallery next door.
M. E. C.
GREAT food & coffee and the friendliest Chef out there!
C. H.
Excellent Coffee Shop in the Aldgate area that's a hidden gem. I say hidden gem because the name of this shop isn't anywhere obvious on the outside. I don't know if that's a clever ploy to keep mass amounts of people from discovering this place because there is limited seating.
That said, the staff here are very friendly and welcoming when taking your orders. They have a huge selection of food, sweet and savoury on display in the window ( a way to entice you into the shop). They have everything from flat bread sandwiches and mini pizza's to Muffins and Custard Tarts.
Then there's the coffee itself which is amazing. The blend they used when I went was perfect in their Flat White and Cappuccino as it was smooth and velvety in the mouth with the milk. They also have free wifi here (password at the moment being: antisocial2016, you have to laugh at the irony of the name) which also make it a good place for working. There is a toilet downstairs which you can use just in case.
A. K.
Delicious food, especially the chai latte!
H. W.
Awesome staff. Nice food. Little high in price but that's the London life🤷🏿♂️
K. M.
While waiting for our 7pm Jack the Ripper tour, I ran over and grabbed a ham and cheese flat bread and hot chocolate for take away.
Everything was delicious and ready quickly. Perfect to hold us over during the tour until we could eat a proper dinner.
Very friendly staff and the baked goods looked exquisite, but I didn't try anything- my only regret.
O. G.
Beautiful store. Great staff. Lovely coffee & food.
Simple really.
M. M.
A beautiful interior. The food display is so tempting that anyone walking by cannot resist stoping and staring. I've always had very good customer service here. They offer water to all customers. The kitchen is open, which means you know you can trust the food you are being served. Only bad thing is the toilet in that there's only one but it mostly suffices given it's a small cafe. I'd recommend getting a flat white from here. It's one of the best in London.
S. J.
Best in the area. Open until 8pm on Sundays! Great baked goods, sandwiches and salads. Solid interior but I think the lights (especially the wall lights and chandelier) needs rethinking because the atmosphere could be improved with better lighting.
A. R.
Really good food and juice. I didn't tried the coffee but it looks good as well.
H. M.
Great food, great coffee, friendly staff, modern atmosphere. It's a reliable "go to" place to grab work lunch, I have been to Exmouth maybe 20 times and was never disappointed, I wish there were more of them!
Y. K.
Been a long time since I had egg Benedict, it was so yummy, we swapped half of meal so also tasted avocado toast which was also good 😋 dessert seems nice, but place was a bit chilly so didn’t stay too long. I had mocha which was ok, could have been better 🙃
B. B.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic soy lattes. I highly recommend. I haven’t eaten here as this is my “coffee on the way to work” spot but everything is presented beautifully.
P. L.
I really like this place. It's got delicious food. They serve pastries, cakes, quiches, pizza and other things so you can go there any time of the day. They also do good coffee and juices!
D. W.
A really nice coffee shop come roastery. The coffee was good and the staff friendly and knowledgeable.
I had a sandwich and a cake from their large selection. Coffee wise I had a pour over and an espresso, both were great.
Highly recommend!
C. M.
The atmosphere is good, the staff are friendly and I was served very quickly at 13:30.
They also tried hard to find a lactose free option but seemed to have mixed knowledge. I had a Falafel and a coffee to eat in, at £8 which isn't cheap.
I'd go back again though.
A. “.
Great coffee, tea and big selection of pastries!
J.
Great coffee and fab selection of cakes, worth a trip
P. F.
One of my favorite spot for coffee!

Really good food and juice. I didn't tried the coffee but it looks good as well.
T. J.
Great food for breakfast
K. S.
Great coffee and fantastic cannoli!
M. P. W.
Love this place!
One of the best places in London, for great cake lovely coffee amazing salads and all served by friendly staff can’t recommend more!!!
D. S.
This is the cutest little coffee shop and has delicious treats. I was there for a business meeting and we found a cozy table towards the back and camped out for over an hour. The scene is relaxed and fun. The flat white and tea were both great too! Definitely a great experience and i will be happy to go again!
E. K.
Nice coffee place with great selection of healthy sandwiches
I. S.
Genuinely good coffee and varied fresh food options. Friendly staff and reasonably private seating add to the experience. If ordering takeaway it can get somewhat congested around the pickup point.
v.
Nice coffee.. Good toasted sandwich and granola cake . Nice staff.. what's not to like?
H. M.
Simply the best, from coffee to food. That's maybe why we go at least once a week :)
A. E.
Flipping amazing place. The vibe is so relaxing, coffee is incredible, delicious food and friendly staff. I love going there to study and talk to people. I'd highly recommend this place to all my friends (especially coffee lovers :) )
T. M.
Rather wonderful! Good coffee to be sure - but the range of daily food offerings (including attractive salads) makes this rather a special find for us. Pity we live on the wrong side of the world for regular visits!
I. S.
A gem in the neighborhood of quite ordinary places. Fresh and tasty breakfasts and sandwiches. Don't let the service put you off, the food is pretty good here. Priced normal for this area, but not very cheap.
I. D.
Very good food and service. Pleasant atmosphere.

M. G.
we just tried the almond-chocolate croissant cake and the nutty brownie and both was soooo delicious! I will definitely come back and have more!
***
New entry:
I had today a vegetarian pizza and another nutty brownie - both amazing!
D. H. M. E.
Really loved this place. It has an exciting and diverse menu. The quality is very high very nice coffee and the staff are friendly. One of the best cafes In London.
A. S.
The space is small but very lovely, and the snacks are very niceeeee

Lovely atmosphere and great food
M. D.
Great coffee and cakes.
Fast and helpful staff.

I was on a trip to Europe and had a stop in London. I’m more than glad I discovered Exmouth! Authentic tasting espresso drinks with a great ambience and environment to be around. Great service! Definitely recommend.
A. B.
Blueberry Cheesecake! Best thing ever!!! (I will add a photo after I've been again)
C. F.
This is a gem of a coffee shop. You can walk by a ton just like it on Whitechapel Road, but what makes Exmouth superior is the amazing quality of food and ingredients. I had a turkey, brie and mango chutney flatbread with a fresh arugula, goat cheese, fig and pecan salad for about £7. I will definitely make this a regular lunch spot so I can try their pizzas, quiches and salads.
n.
very nice service and atmosphere, loved it. Tea & cakes were delicious! Definetely coming back some day...
Left a little drawing on the wall, hoping to perhaps see it when I come back to London! :D
P. B.
Nice coffee and good pastry.
J. O.
Had the best lunch I've had for ages. Food fabulously fresh and tasty. Coffee 5 star. Service excellent. Value for money - tops. I'll defo be back!
P. M.
Love this places and people working here. Manager is really nice!
K. M.
Great location (by the underground). Coffee is good, sandwiches and cakes are even better. All reasonably priced. Staff were great too. Good way to start your day.
D. T. d. G.
very much like this place. Good choice of healthy foods. Coffee is good and tea selection is brilliant. Loads of brunch foods as well as sweet stuff. Seating is relexed and music not overpowering loud (which is a problem in a lot of other places). Check out the toilet and read the books... lol
A. H.
Great vibe and delicious food. Loved the breakfast menu!
C. C.
I had their quiche Lorraine and a mixture of their 3 fresh salads. The salads were literally to die for. I dream of the dill-beet-bean-carrot salad. Huge servings. I did not try their coffee, but the salads give enough of an excuse to come back.
P. L.
Is not my first visit to this cafè and I will keep coming back because the food is tasty and the price not too bad, but in my opinion the service is them best point. The staff is gentle and fast. Hot dogs and fries or coffee macchiato should be on your list.
c. c.
The coffee is great, and the food is tasty, too
R. B.
5* Coffee roasted on site. 5* food made fresh daily on site. Service is outstanding. I wish they offered a discount to NHS workers, but it's such a nice place.
E. T.
Good food, lots of options! Good amount of seating inside.
A. W.
They were having trouble with the order given the queues. One of.our orders was wrong and another was undercooked. I would love to give it the benefit of doubt and visit it again, given the dept of their menu- however they are in a neighborhood with plenty of choices.
S. V.
Friendly staff nice coffee
B. C.
Great cafe, with perfect cups of coffee, utterly delicious cakes and great savoury food. Laid back atmosphere, cool décor, nice staff and good internet. Takeaway options also available.
M.
Excellent food and friendly staff. A slight mixup due to a new start was resolved swiftly and a delicious juice provided as an apology!
Would definitely come back, the salad was fantastic :-)
B. D.
Nice coffee of course and very tasty cakes and also savoury (vegetarian) options (salads and that). It's usually quite busy so getting a table might not be possible at any time.
D. M.
Their coffee and food is soo tasty! Prices are absolutely fine, customer service is okay, the place well situated and looks fine.
B. N.
Great coffee and a cost warm atmosphere. The food also looks amazing will need to try some next time.
D. D.
It's almost impossible to walk by Exmouth Coffee Company without being tempted to step inside. The window is full of delicious cakes and pastries that would not be out of place in a traditional French patisserie. There's also a selection of freshly made sandwiches, quiches and salads and, as the coffee is roasted on the premises, you can always be sure of a super-fresh cup. Whenever I visit, I keep my fingers crossed that there will be Congolais (coconut macaroon) on sale as they're the best I've had outside of France. Located close to Whitechapel Gallery and Aldgate tube station, around the corner from Brick Lane and close to Spitalfields Market, it's a great place to stop by and worth seeking out if you find yourself in the area.
J. K.
Great coffee, food and interior, brilliant service. What more could you ask for? We got a free coffee when they accidentally made two too many.
Would recommend it to anyone!
周.
The best carrot cake I’ve ever had in London!!
Y. Z.
Three days in London, three breakfasts at Exmouth. Pastry is fresh and tasty and made with quality ingredients. Filtered coffee was on a cold side, but not enough to spoil the overall experience.
W. M.
Everyone there was ultra friendly and really care about the quality of the coffee. The Ethiopian single origin pour over was great and the orange and polenta cake is a must.
N. C.
Nice café that offers a huge variety of options for breakfast. Welcoming atmosphere
I had a croissant that was probably too dry for me. Coffee was ok.
R. D.
Delicious turmeric latte with many milk alternatives 👍🏼 great atmosphere of music, great looking prepared food, and free WiFi. Cute place to stop for a coffee, tea, and or snack.
J. H. (.
Great atmosphere, great coffee, great food. Prices are reasonable, and the building is very well planned out, very open. Highly recommend, visit almost every time I'm in Whitechapel.
J. K.
Great Service!
S. S.
Top, top coffee! It's a struggle to find some stellar coffee in London but so far this place has never let me down. The baking on offer is just as good.
T. M. (. M.
Very good royal egg (muffin, poached egg, salmond)
T. B.
This café offers a great selection of sweet and salty freshly prepared food in an easy going and young atmosphere. Check out the absolutely well prepared window!
N. S.
My favourite café in Whitechapel. Lovely, friendly staff, great bustling atmosphere and their vegetarian quiche & salad combo is mouth-watering. Just love it!
C. H.
Been here a couple of times a few yeaars ago - was always good but went recently and the take away coffee had taken a turn for the worse. The soy latte wasnt the best.
feel i need to try again just to be sure...
food looked good as always
H. C.
Excellent creamy flat whites, great selection of pastries and savoury food. The staff are friendly, laid back atmosphere and free wifi. Highly recommended.
K. E.
I have been lured in here several times, but in the UK, no one knows how to bake. In this cozy place they know how to make their sweets look great, but when you buy the overpriced cakes you soon realise it was just a trick, a facade, a promise that wasn't kept, the love your mom never gave you, a dream of heaven, the hell of disappointment.
R. R.
Nice place. They make a lot of items themselves. Unfortunately I feel it is too expensive and the coffee, espresso, had a bad burnt taste I had to leave it.
E. K.
Nice coffee, friendly staff. The cakes are good but they are always a little bit disappointing (just a bit dry, just a bit too sweet...)
S. T.
A good place for breakfast or lunch. I tried porridge the first time and it was tasty. For lunch, you can have sandwich and salad for around 7 pounds. Very nice atmosphere too.
M. L.
The best coffee in the area, both the macchiato and latte’s have been great every morning for the past few weeks. The food is not half bad either!
M. H.
Awesome coffee, fudge bar to die for and a quiche lorraine so good we took two slices away as well! Staff are friendly and accommodating.
S. A.
A place that serves such high quality coffee and breakfast at 7am on a Sunday deserves at least 6 stars in my book. Also the staff were very nice.
I.
Great Americano and selection of baked goods, sweet or savoury.
R. G.
Best lemon drizzle cake in the world!
S. v. R.
Top quality coffee delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff really what more could you ask for ? -it’s only a short stroll foranyone walking past star- chucks and thinking please give me something tasty human and real!
M. M.
Exmouth is my local cafe. It is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the area or to have great food and coffee on the go. Everything is at the more expensive end of London prices but you get what you pay for.
M. B.
A quintessential trendy East end independent cafe, Exmouth has a selection of wholesome artisan food to wash down your coffee.
Tasty looking pastries, cakes, quiches, pizza slices, flatbread sandwiches and fresh looking salads are attractively laid out in a rustic fashion to match the Shoreditch cool decor.
S. D.
Total hidden gem - I walked past here on a rainy day and the window display, with groaning piles of stuffed baguettes, cakes and more, lured me right in. I walked off with a delicious square of ham and cheese pizza for £3. The only downside was that the staff weren't very chatty - I had to ask three times what the place was called so I could review it!
M. D.
Great food, healthy options that taste delicious. The staff are helpful and considerate. One of my favourite little spots.
A. R.
A nice little secret if I'm honest. Generally no ques for really good coffee and breakfast unlike some of the other local spots
K. 3.
Amazingly good food and a really chicish place. The service was implacable.
Coffee wasn't such as good as the rest which is a surprise.
Cool and tasty.
J. C.
Very good coffee. Wide selection of food for lunch, including lots of vegetarian. There's also lots of cakes and snacks! Very nice place to sit!
J. G.
It is a small coffee place with super nice and helpful, brick walls, genuine food, every coffee has got a genuine theme such as hearts, flowers and the tips box is called karma machine. Very recommended!
E. K.
Nice coffee place with great selection of healthy sandwiches
R. S.
Awesome place but today I couldn't recommend the coffee because it was without any crema and too bitter, the aftertaste was also not good.
G. J. B.
Honestly most of the food here is amazing (I've tried all of it pretty much). I especially like all the different salads they make, the savoury croissants and the pecan pies!
M. M.
Great food with a fair bit of variety, great coffee, friendly staff, and a cosy vibe. Love coming here.
R. C.
Great coffee, even greater staff. An ideal place to takeaway or sit in. Recommend the flat white and dirty chai. Oh, a good spot for lunch too.
S. K.
I had a sandwich which was quite good and staff was friendly but the coffee was far from perfect; I got a double espresso, more like ristretto, my girlfriend got latte and it was warmish; they made it again but taking into account the prices we could expect more.
I. S. Y.
The coffe has body and taste, sweets and sandwiches are just fab.
Great for brunch followed by a visit to the gallery.
J. B.
Great place to meet friends for lunch
S. M.

F. G.
Speedy service. Coffee and food brought to table with water or even homemade palette cleansers. A coffee shop not pretending to be something it's not. Just great coffee.

D. N.
Nice friendly staff, alternative milk for coffee, vegan option from cakes as well. I recommend.

S. o. G.
Real coffee, fast service, smiley staff, delicious food, reasonable prices. Just maybe they need a better air freshener or etc for cooking smell.

The folded flat bread sandwich things are lush and the coffee only comes in one size so you get a consistent strength.
