Reviews of Flotsam & Jetsam
S. D. A.
Great brunch place. They don't take reservations but you can expect to always find a seat when you pop in. Food is great. Best mushroom toast I've had in my life. Coffee was also great.
R. E.
Really nice cosy place for brunch or a coffee break.
The crowd is also very local or 'upscale' who go here.
We ordered the pancakes and sourdough bread with veg and goats cheese. For drinks we had matcha latte and a lavender matcha latte, which was purple.
Pancakes are from the top-end of town with nice consistency. perfect amount of garnish in proportion to the size of pancakes. The drinks were nice too.
Worth a visit if you're walking in this area.

Really special brunch spot! Went for a birthday brunch and the food and service delivered on making it a memorable occasion. The staff were attentive, service a good speed for how full it was and we didn’t wait too long for a table. The food was tasty, the espresso hollandaise took some getting used to, but definitely was something different. Pancake was amazing!

I can see why Flotsam & Jetsam has quickly become a favourite among locals. They serve the freshest food and delicious coffee. I have yet to try their cakes and pancakes, so another visit is needed!
B. H.
I've been multiple times to this bright and cheerful cafe. Good coffee, by Allpress, and tasty food. Staff are friendly though service can be very slow, depending on the time you go. If you manage to go on a sunny day, sitting out the front is lovely.
J. M.
This cozy little coffee shop has been on my list of places to visit for a while now. Inside is cozy and I look forward to being able to sit inside with a coffee post tier 3 regulations. Fast service and delicious coffee. Staff were friendly and following COVID guidelines, you can enter to place your order, you then wait outside and they bring it to you. My friend had the banana bread with cinnamon butter and advised it's one of the best she has tried! #oatmilk #coffee #cozycoffeeshop

Amazing coffee, really good food and welcoming service. The selection is wide so everyone will find something for them. My hubby tried smashed avocado with extra eggs which was made extra special with marinated chilli which gave a very nice sweet and spicy taste. I took American pancakes which I found a very nice taste and probably one of the best I have eaten. The atmosphere is fantastic.
The place is busy - we arrived at 9:30am and had to wait for 10 mins to get a table. They keep a list of people waiting so you don’t have to queue. There are lots of tables outside so you can sit down while waiting there or I imagine in summer actually have breakfast there. This place is popular with families, you can see lots of babies in car seats even. Toilets were very nice and spacious as well.
L. M.
Beautiful space, lovely staff and a high number of staff for the number of tables. All press coffee - quality but not my taste. The eggs Benedict was a little odd. Firstly, only one slice of bread for two eggs. Which seems a bit stingy. The other thing is that the plate was decorated with baby coriander shoots, which was a very strong flavour, reminiscent of blue cheese. It overpowered the other ingredients and I'd probably encourage the kitchen to switch it out for something a little less overpowering.
T. B.
Lovely cafe with some gorgeous food on offer. Artisan and handmade cakes and treats which look and taste delightful! Staff are friendly and efficient, service is quick and the pricing isn’t too bad.
Quite a popular spot on the Common and tends to get quite busy with people queuing outside for a table, best to arrive around or before 9.30 on the weekends/ bank holidays.
C. P.
I came here for a delicious lunch with my niece . Everything felt safe and clean . We had to queue a little to get in but it was totally worth . Excellent food and drinks and polite friendly service .
J. M.
Their Thai sweet potato soup with spicy hot chillies and a slice of toast. Very warming food and the place is well coming on a chilly day. The venue is On the shopping parade of Wandsworth Common - South London.
A. H.
Flotsam is my local and my favourite spot in london for brunch. Staff are lovely. They can be busy on weekends but their food & coffee is always worth the wait! Definitely recommend.
R. C.
Standard brunch menu but definitely done to a very good quality. The BLAT Sandwich was excellent and hearty, surprisingly good zing from the mustard aioli. The F+J pancakes are a good version of a classic.
D. G.
Place takes no bookings - line up outside is nearly always the case. Coffee whilst you wait is doable! Good is great and good menu selection - they offer meats from "the ginger pig" which are lovely.
Might be rushed towards the end if there is a line outside but on the whole lovely place for breakfast and brunch!
V. S. B.
I love this place! Amazing matcha and the bread is perfect. Staff is attentive. There's queue on the weekend but it clears fairly fast.
A. P.
Lovely quaint coffee shop just off the common. Delicious coffee in compostable takeaway cups. Banana bread is divine. Oat milk also available. Will return for brunch (and salted caramel brownies 😋)
D. E.
The food is high quality and a real Kiwi twist on breakfast and lunch. There are some unique and interesting combinations that they put into their food which gives it a certain USP. Perfect for those weekend and weekly daily days after sport or to enjoy a coffee with s friend or two.
c.
Nice cafe off the common. Food was real tasty and the vibe was cool. The waiting / queuing system is a bit unclear but if you get there before 10am on weekends you should be fine. Would recommend.
B. N.
Excellent coffee and delicious sweet treats make this place a worthwhile visit.
A. M.
Solid neighbourhood cafe. Busy so expect a line on the weekend. Turmeric latte with Oat milk is yummy.
J. S.
Really great coffee shop that has a nice breakfast menu.
The location is perfect being just off wandsworth common and its dog friendly.
The staff are excellent and service is quick.
M. S.
Exceptionally tasty brunch and really friendly staff. All the classic staples with the right little twists and details to stand out. Definitely worth a visit
F. M.
Avocado and halloumi sandwich changed my life, the bread was unreal
H. F.
Good coffee and friendly staff, but often a confusing queue for takeout.
C. N.
A beautiful cozy space to enjoy some brunch outside. I had a lovely BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato for the uninitiated), quality coffee and a generous offering of carrot cake to finish.
A. K.
Came here for breakfast two weeks ago based on the great reviews I'd previously read. The queues outside gave me confidence and was looking forward to the breakfast. Whilst I didn't mind queuing, it did raise expectations that the food would be worth the trip. Unfortunately I didn't get what I ordered and the food portions were generally a lot smaller than I may have expected. Nice decor on the inside and service was generally good albeit very busy on a Sunday morning. A little small on the inside so if you have reservations about being able to keep distant, this may not be the place for you. Great coffee however!
R. G.
Fabulous food and fabulous service! Got the smashed avo with feta and chilli and it was delicious; the banana bread was to die for too! The only reason it was 4 stars is the pet friendly bit, had a lady with a dog next to me, not a fan of dog hairs flying around when I'm eating!
K. M.
Delicious coffee, incredible baked goods and the most generous portion of avocado I’ve ever seen. The staff are super friendly and atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Our favourite local for brunch or just a coffee or juice and a walk around the common.
S. C.
Amazing people, great food and cool atmosphere! They let my girlfriend work on her laptop there as she needed wifi for a few hours. The staff were super accommodating and nice about it. We have just moved to the area and will be coming back soon!
P.
Great cafe with amazing service and good food, looking forward to my next visit
J. M.
Delicious food with good portion sizes for a decent price. A good amount of outside space too.
N. S.
Best way to start a Sunday morning, coffee and a delicious slice or toasted banana bread with cinnamon butter
L. M.
I've been missing my Aussie coffee since moving back to London so I was so happy to find F&J and that they serve allpress! Totally worth the half hour walk just for their coffee. Staff are super friendly. Can't wait to try their food and dine in when lock down is over.
T.
Banana bread and cinnamon butter is unbeatable. Coffee and service also impeccable. So glad to have you guys on the common 😀
P. B.
Food was average. Prices eye wateringly high. £8.80 for a sandwich. Say no more
L. C.
Flotsam is our local brunch spot! The food is always amazing and the staff super friendly. We often grab takeaway food and coffee during the week when doing a school run, and are never let down. Def 5 stars and a local gem in Wandsworth
R. L.
Continues to be the best breakfast in South West London! The pancakes with berries, banana, bacon & syrup has been a family favourite and not bettered anywhere else for a few years! Caters well food allergies with an eggsellent menu! Very friendly staff and lovely vibe.
A. L.
Good food friendly service, but slow.
A. S.
Great staff, great food but don't like dogs inside
S. F.
We’ve been coming to F&J since it opened. It is one of the best cafes in London. Consistently great food every time, friendly staff and the baristas know what they are doing - great coffee with Allpress beans 👍🏽.
PS - don’t forget to take a brownie to go, they are the best!
H. P.
What a BLAT! Seriously good. Coffee excellent. Great fresh juice too. The toasted banana bread, with cinnamon butter, was perfect for our stroll around the common after brunch.
S. C.
Best banana bread ever. That's all you need for brunch, it was amazing. Coffees also delicious, no wonder its busy on weekends. Couldn't get inside as it was so busy so no idea what the atmosphere is like inside, but will absolutely return
C. P.
Pleasantly surprised by the pancakes! Great portion size and tasted great
p.
Very nice place for breakfast and brunch.
Friendly staff. Good interior and good admospear.
L. F.
One of my favourite places to sit for a coffee with the doggo after a walk on the common, grab a quick one when passing by, study in, or take mates there for brunch. The food is brilliant and everyone that works there is lovely. The pancakes are incredible! And all the baked goods are fab too!
B. W.
Lovely cafe, excellent soup, definitely recommend
C. D.
Huge Credit to the team at Flotsam and Jetsam!
Keeping this business open for takeaway during the lockdowns could not have been the easiest thing but by Jove have they cracked it! Whenever me and my girlfriend talk a walk around the common, Flotsam is always a pit stop on our trip. We are always welcomed with a smile and such incredibly helpful staff who go out of their way to make the simplest of things so adorably exciting!
The coffees are exactly what is needed when taking a trek around the park and grabbing a slice of their gorgeous carrot cake (which should be known globally, its that good!) to enjoy at home infront of the fire is one of the reasons lockdown has been so enjoyable for us.
Thankyou everyone here for being such a strong staple in our community!
J. K.
Brilliant service. Excellent food and coffees. Chorizo toastie is epic!!
E. S.
Really cute little café just off Wandsworth Common - perfect for a post-weekend stroll brunch. They serve the BEST Huevos Rancheros!
H. P.
What a BLAT! Seriously good. Coffee excellent. Great fresh juice too. The toasted banana bread, with cinnamon butter, was perfect for our stroll around the common after brunch.
N. C.
My friends and I really enjoyed the seafood here! Can’t wait to come back again :)
G. S.
Nice little indi coffee shop serving breakfast dishes

Very nice cafe. Good atmosphere and excellent egg royale
F. F.
Back again to this lovely cafe after a nice walk in the park! It was walk in only but we managed to find space in no time. Food was amazing and the service very friendly and efficient! Looking forward to get back soon!
M. W.
Awesome food and friendly staff. But, above all, so many friendly dogs brought by the clientele.
R. L.

Vegan review: Popped in here after having earlier walked past and it being really busy. I opted for the matcha latte, it comes with dairy milk so you have to specify which milk. I got mine with coconut milk, and chose to have it sweetened.Honestly my favorite place for a Sunday breakfast to the point where I wake up at 9 on a Sunday to Miss the queue Best sausages and pancakes in London !
A. D.
Came here a couple of weeks ago to have some brunch, it was super busy and there was a queue but we thought we would wait as we heard great reviews. It was definitely worth the wait, the food is spot on and super yummy, a bit slow but you can’t blame them as they’re so busy. We didn’t mind waiting anyway! Was so impressed, came again this morning with my partner and the food was yet again fab, will defo be coming here regularly. Thank you F&J
M. C. D.
One of THE most delicious brekkies I've had in London! Such delightful staff and a very chilled atmosphere. I would highly recommend the espresso eggs benedict, as the unique espresso hollandaise sauce was absolutely heavenly!
T. J.
Comfortable and well-priced; excellent coffee and aesthetic decor. It does feel quite generic, but the cake and food look fresh and interesting. Barista courses and a line of cycle-wear show how creative these folk are.
A. H.
Lovely food and coffee, dog friendly too. Big let down was the very slow service, albeit friendly and polite, and the snobby clientele. Being looked down when going for brunch is not the nicest and not so keen to go back.
C. Y.
Very nice cafe. Good atmosphere and excellent egg royale
M. C.
Highly recommend as a brunch place with friends and family. Dog and kid friendly cosy place. Fresh, organic produce used throughout the menu, especially eggs! Try eggs Royale and Benedict.
T. G.
The staff are super friendly and always attentive. The coffee is also great and their new Shakshuka is FANTASTIC! Best item on the menu! Would definitely reccomend
K. C.
Love the food, and the service is impeccable 🤗
D. B.
Service at Flotsam is very good. Friendly kiwi lady greeted us and made us feel welcome. We both had BLATs with a side of sausage (delicious ginger pig herb and pork). The sandwiches were brilliant just what we were after. We also had chai lattes which are a staple for an antipodean. Both flavoursome and frothy. Our son ordered the pancake for kids which was delicious (yes we of course had to try his!). Overall this was a very relaxing and tasty lunch experience that cannot be faulted. Was a bit expensive but everything tasted fresh and good quality. We will be back!
K. S.
The staff are friendly, and the coffee is exceptional - whether you want dairy, coconut, oat, almond, or soy!
There's often a wait for a table, but with good reason. I've ordered most items on the menu - lots of gf or df options for those with allergies.
If you're happy to wait for a good thing, I recommend Flotsam & Jetsam
G. W.
We got a bit lost trying to find this place as the google maps location is a bit off, but once we found it all was great! We waited a while, about 30 mins for Saturday brunch which for London isn't so bad, but were still given free coffees which other cafes probably wouldn't do! The brunch was amazing, pancakes great and eggs benedict looked amazing - big smiles all round! Planning on coming back soon!
J. R.
A typical coffee shop. Coffee is fine (better than any of the chains), but not great. Morning pastries tend to be on the dry side. Quite noisy inside, but one of the few coffee shops with outside seating (beer garden benches). Avoid the hectic morning crunch between 8:30 and 9:30 with lots of people stopping by for a take-out coffee. Later on iris still busy, but much less traffic.
D. R.
Can get busy on a nice weekend but unserstable as brunch was great. Many outside for takeaway coffees. Lovely location by the common
N. P.
A great antipodean cafe in the heart of Wandsworth. You won't be disappointed. Get there early on weekends though or outside of 'child' feeding time. Can get quite crowded if you want an inside table. Of course there is always outdoor seating but you'll need to rug up.
A. S.
Amazing place, the food is brilliant, the staff so friendly and helpful.
10/10
N. P.
Our lattes did not look like the beautiful art lattes from your instagram. Just normal dodge with a blob of milk.
The pancakes were slightly undercooked.
Apart from that the ambiance was great and staff were friendly and helpful.
J. C.
Lovely food and good service. Unfortunately it is so busy on a Sunday morning you'll likely be asked to wait outside (they use a waiting list system) until a table is free but the food for me out weighs the wait. Best Coffee I've had in a restaurant and all round lovely atmosphere and staff. I go every week and have done so for months
J. J.
Brilliant coffee, awesome Kiwi vibe in the decor and cafe culture here. Major down side = teeming with mothers in designer leggings and their small children. Expect to hear fascinating chats about baby led weaning, personal trainers and choosing the best range of organic baby food..or go to the pub.
M. W.
Awesome food and friendly staff. But, above all, so many friendly dogs brought by the clientele.
T. G.
Possibly one of the best brunch places in London. A cozy cafe serving delicious twists on all the brunch classics with friendly staff and for a reasonable price. You can walk it off on Wandsworth common as well. Highly recommend.
s. w.
Lovely little spot. Great atmosphere, staff are nice and attentive and the food is great. There's good options for something a bit diff for brunch.
J. P.
Great food, tasted fantastic! Fast service, very friendly and good view of the park. So good I'd detour to go try all on offer from the menu also the best coffee I've had in years.
R. W.
The pancakes were amazing, and my cappuccino was as good as anything I’d find in Australia or NZ. Great location for a walk afterwards too
A. D.
The food and atmosphere here are fantastic. You won't taste American-style pancakes like this anywhere in London. Great coffee too.
S. M.
Most delicious coffee, fabulous cakes & a fave brunch spot. Never disappoints!
J. D.
Delicious food. Lovely atmosphere and friendly professional staff
J. D.
Nice coffee, food and friendly staff. They were cool with me hanging there and getting some work done on a laptop on a relatively busy Saturday afternoon which often places like this ask you politely to not do so.
C. K.
The avocado and feta was decent.
Coffee was Banging
J. B.
Food was great, coffee was OK, and the location carries it when the weather is good! Really nice staff and good service.
D. W.
Dog friendly! Great cafe near the Wandsworth Common. If you get there early enough you beat the queue. These guys pour a good coffee and the beans are yum.
S. H.
Awesome coffee and great takeaway for lockdown walks. Miss brunching! Service is fantastic
R. D.
Best brunch in a long time. With Wandsworth Common a stones throw away this is a perfect place to stop for breakfast, brunch, lunch... Amazingly homemade good bircher muesli. Coffee is spot on too.
K. C.
Best coffee in London and located in the most charming neighborhood, Wandsworth Common!
Missing this place so much during lock down 👎🏼
C. W.
Great food and drinks. The staff are friendly and the service was fantastic. Came out with my girlfriend and she has already planned a girly night out!
N. C.
My friends and I really enjoyed the seafood here! Can’t wait to come back again :)
G. M.
This place is amazing. Food is very good. organic and everything is fresh. A meal vary between £8 and and £11 per person. Awesome place/staff
I. F.
Lovely atmosphere and the food and drinks not only taste good but are beautiful. Coco-mango Bircher is 100% recommended and the Violatte is delicious (for people who like floral coffee!)
A. M.
Best place on the Bellevue road, staff are lovely, food is great and always a good hangover cure. Would be great if it was a bit cheaper but definitely a treat and coffee is the best coffee south of the river!
S. V.
Amazing food, coffee and atmosphere. Though gets super packed on weekends so good to go early. LOVE!
S. G.
Great food, nice coffee and good decor but time it right. Otherwise you'll get caught with either the mums, their expensive prams and screeching babies or the local housewives with the gossip.
F. P.
Amazing food! Definitely worth the visit! Best eggs benefit I’ve had in London, hands down.
M. G.
Small yet very tasty menu. Great coffee. Friendly staff and pretty interior, and close to the Common, which is all you need really.
E. F.
A-MAZING, I sadly lost my reusable cup minutes before going in (broke it). The staff were great and helped me to see they sold them too. Food and coffee was on point. Will definately be back!
D. K.
Lovely very trendy Kiwi inspired (run?) cafe .. Good Allpress coffees, lovely iced tea & juices and good brunch menu .. small but plenty outdoor seating on a fairly quiet road
A. F.
My food wAs interesting and very well done. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The cafe gets busy after school drop off in the mornings.
W.
Happy to say no ship debris; only great coffee, breakfast and nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff, table service and all. One of our favourite coffee shops.
D. W.
Love you guys. My daughter dropped her hot chocolate and it was instantly replaced, no questions asked. Thank you
A. R.
In love with the pancakes! Also really liked the huevos rancheros! The service is pretty good and quite quick as well. Can't wait to go back.
M. M.
Great food and coffee.
R. M.
Popular place to get coffee and snacks. Good toasted banana bread, good atmosphere and very friendly young staff. Ask for Emily.
J. M.
Our favourite brunch spot, great food and lovely people
P. B.
Great independent coffee shop with a nice selection of (I'm assuming) home made cakes. Lots of 'yummy mummy' types but what do you expect around there?
F. P.
Amazing food. Especially the home baked cakes & scones. The decor is interesting & different. The staff are friendly & very attentive.
A. T.
It's a place where you can turn up literally just before they close and they won't get huffy. A relaxed antipodean experience.
Lovely decor and a relaxing place to spend time.
We shall return
D. D.
Exceptional service and even better coffee. The chia acai breakfast bowl is to die for
G. S.

J. B.
Really lovely team who seem to be handling the July soft reopening after CV19 with intelligence, sensitivity and grace. Great little place 👌
M. T.
Novel menu with great healthy food and nice ambience. If there is a catch it is F&J is no secret and gets quite busy, but it's worth persevering...
J. P.
FAVOURITE local cafe. Good vegan options and nice to see they were open most of lock down

Great Cafe, that is super popular with locals.
They don't take reservations, so you may need to wait for a table depending on how busy it gets. The longest I have waited is 20mins, however this was at midday on a beautiful sunny Saturday, so everyone was out and about.
I have eaten here multiple times
The food is delicious, good portion sizes, fair price and staff are nice.
I can recommend the pancakes!
Highly recommend if you are looking for Cafe in Balham/Wandsworth/Clapham.
