Reviews of Friends of Ours
T. L.
My partner and I ate at Friends of Ours last week. They serve delicious brunch style food inspired by the brunch scene in Melbourne. We tried a few vegetarian dishes including Turkish Spicy Beans, Mushrooms on Toast and French Toast. Each dish has interesting ingredients and layers of taste, for example the Mushrooms on Toast features sage and wild garlic mushrooms sat on top of Jerusalem artichoke cream. I did appreciate the artichoke crisps and the Dusty Knuckle sourdough toast. I also added a well-done poached egg and had the whole lot polished off in a couple of minutes. The coffee is by Dark Arts and that is very good. They have plenty of bench tables on the pavement in front of the cafe so you can dine alfresco in the summer. The staff were noticeably friendly and the food arrived quickly. I'd definitely go back. I wrote a feature for my London Lifestyle Blog so am posting some of those pictures for you to see.

Always enjoy my coffee here at friends of ours. I wanted to have more to eat as the menu looked quite appetising. The date porridge is big enough to share and very very good. Tastes like what mum used to make before school, the jam I think it was, the crumble and apple all came through
C. H.
Great brunch and coffee. Not the normal brunch menu but it’s amazing with the twist they put on the dishes. I would recommend anyone looking for a great place to either grab coffee or something to eat in shoreditch.
D. S.
What a great little cafe! The coffee here is exceptionally tasty and very well made, the Batista's are on point. I also grabbed some food whilst there and had the Japanese Benedict which was an amazingly tasty surprise! Extremely well done from presentation to the flavours on the plate.
It's now my go to brunch spot in that area and will definitely be coming back to try more from their menu and also their parties will looked delicious.
Also, free wi-fi and amazing service makes any visit a pleasure. Only wish they had more comfortable seats!! 😂
S. H.
Had the Japanese eggs benedict as a lil Saturday treat along with a coffee. Coffee was v good but the food was INCREDIBLE. Also plenty of lovely doggies in the vicinity which was a pleasant addition.
M. B.
Exciting and unique menu, friendly staff, good prices and portion sizes and good coffee.
L. G.
I had a soya late, with the right amount of foam milk and caffe. Not too strong, nor too weak. So, we started great. Then I had a focaccia sandwich with bacon and a piece of bread with poached egg and salmon, as a side. Total budget for this outstanding breakfast: £28. Eat two. Here’re some pics, just in case you have not been tempted yet!

Friends of Ours is a the perfect stop for a quick afternoon bite or coffee. I was impressed by the diversity of the summer brunch menu and overall atmosphere.
I initially wanted the Pain au Chocolat to start, but they were out and alternately suggested the Almond & White Chocolate Croissant which I was delightfully surprised by! Bacon & Focaccia was also a solid choice with more of a crispier focaccia top and rich spicy Mayo.
Ambiance is nice with friendly staff and plenty of shaded outdoor seating with shareable tables. WiFi is available, but strength is limited so don’t expect to be taking a zoom call from here.
One thing I will knock them on is size of the iced latte. I like a bigger latte in the hot summer heat and theirs was on the small side and I found the espresso overwhelming without more milk.
W. W.
Love this cafe, it’s often busy but always fantastic. The food is fresh and delicious. Why pay the same for a mediocre meal elsewhere when you can have something made with so much more care and attention to detail 💁🏻♂️
S. S.
Came here this weekend as was visiting London with a friend. The food was unreal and service very very good. Didn’t feel rushed at all and the staff were all very attentive. We had the french toast- SO GOOD. Would definitely recommend!
E. V.
Very busy and bustling cafe with a nice outdoor sitting area. It is a bit more chaotic and unorganized inside but the coffee was very good! Food is expensive
V. G.
Lovely lovely food, coffee and service. Nice table service from well-trained, laid-back staff who seem genuinely happy to be at work and chatting to customers. This is a rarity in parts of London! Sign of great management.
T. S.
Friendly staff, good coffee, and the french toast was *incredible*. Will go back for sure!
А. Б.
nice, food (porridge and Japanese benedict) were very good, carrot cake very juicy tho a bit too sweet the cream jn it. Drinks phenomenal! Super delightful oat flat white and ginger tea, I am wondering what is the brand of tea they serve
The only thing is the value, felt a little too pricey.
A. S.
Great place for coffe and food looks great. Gets quite busy on sunny days so prepare to queue for a bit ,it is worth it.Menu changes from time to time so check on website day before 🙂

As good as precovid time,
Friends of Ours is a recommendation of mine.
You can order for takeaway, you’ll be fine
I can assure you’ll have the best dine.
If you feel healthy go for the eggs on toast or wrap,
if you feel hungover a toastie will bring you up.
Don’t forget to get something sweet to have ASAP,
like a cookie, banana bread, followed by a nap.
Frieds of Our doesn’t ever fail,
I’m sure they would be great even via mail.
Remember you can always bring your tail,
a place where the food and service they always nail!
J. B.
consistently incredible food, service, and coffee. a strong staple of the community, and a solace for the past few months.
really the very best of hospitality. friendly and local - can’t stop won’t stop going here
M.
Was looking forward to try this place, but the Japanese Benedict was way too salty. I couldn’t finish it, and felt like I wasted £14. The staff didn’t ask us how it was and took everything away before I could inform them that the food was disappointing.
Y. Q.
French toast was divine 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️ but service charge was 12.5%, kinda steep!
C. C.
Amazing quality food, I was drawn to it because people said they use unique combinations of ingredients. I had soufflé pancakes and it was fantastic. My husband had salmon and potatoes and we left feeling very full. Portion size is good and for what you pay, it is so worth it. Service was impersonal but nothing bad. Waited half an hour for our food. Would 100% go back. It is very Shoreditch, hidden gem I would say as we didn’t have to queue!
A. P.
🍳 Tasty brunch
🔥 Cozy environment
🥒 Fresh and healthy ingredients
👩🏻💼 Excellent service
Mocha and English breakfast tea were exceptional. Also had the Smashed Avo and the Friends of Ours Benedict. Extra-tasty and very well cooked. Definitely recommended!
R. W.
Great coffee (can serve with skimmed and soya milk)
The dishes are very creative (had the Mackrell and French toast dishes) and the portions are generous. Compared to other brunch venues the price is very competitive.
The only downside to this place is the fact you can't book and it's a little out of the way, that said its well worth the journey
E. S.
Having breakfast here is like taking your taste buds on an art gallery tour. Full of flavors, textures, and colors! Their twist on what we know as breakfast is unique and refreshing, and it’s healthy (vegan friendly) and delightful. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and cheerful. They created a great vibe for this place and makes this place one of my favorite cafe in London so far!
M. G.
The coffee is nice but a bit expensive. I have been going in on and off for 5 months and in that time the quality of service and hygiene has gone down. Staff do not wear face masks, the counter screen and hand sanitiser have been removed and the tables are no longer promptly wiped down. These are simple things to do and make customers feel safer.
Y. D.
Great place and outside seating is awesome for summers. French toast is amazing! Beware of phone grabbers in the area.
E. F.
This place is absolutely lit!
Off the hustle bustle, a few steps away old street/shoreditch in a very quiet area.
The food menu is fantastic and heavenly tasty!!! Interesting roasted coffee as well!
Such a great discovery.
Very very recommended and can’t wait to go back and try the other specialties!!
I. L.
Friends of ours has been my all time favourite local brunch place since their opening in spring 2015. I’ve seen their amazing menu changing every season and even though it has changed from more breakfasty to more lunchy over the years, I still enjoy every dish I’ve tried. Menu might be changed but one thing is consistent: great coffee, nice crevice and delicious creative and seasonal dishes - my current favourite being the lobster with turmeric scrambled eggs on sourdough. You just have to go and try it, seriously. They always have a sweet dish which I always drool when looking at it online (currently being an amazing French toast with rhubarb and gin and tonic strawberries).
The staff is really nice (with very little exceptions justified by increased popularity/busy times).
It gets VERY busy over the weekends so do go early (or late), especially if it’s a sunny day!
Highly recommended for one of the best brunches in London.
S. T.
So delicious!! I went to this place with no expectation but the Reuben Benedict was so good. The hollandaise was so smooth and tasty. The pastrami was also good match with the sauce and the pickled red cabbage which gave a slightly sweetness. Avocado with black salt was lovely. I really intended to have only a cup of cappuccino but I was glad that I had this yummy thing. Definitely recommend this place. Nice and friendly staffs. Reasonable price. Not so far from public transportation (5-7 minutes walk). The poached eggs were perfectly made too.
J. H.
Awesome unusual brunch options, friendly fast service and delicious cakes. I had the Reuben Benedict which was perfectly seasoned and unlike any Benedict I’ve had before. What more could you want on a sleepy Saturday morning?
T. S.
By far my favourite cafe around. The staff is incredibly friendly and mindful. They serve delicious food and also cater for vegans.
The place reminds me of the Melburnian cafe culture, and the coffee matches the same high quality too.
They can be too busy on the weekend, and even takeaway coffee can be a 10 minutes wait. I recommend a mid week visit, or a rainy weekend, or simply arrive extra early.
D. C.
Lovely Aussie run/staffed brunch spot. Feels like a slice of Melbourne in London. I ate the kedgeree whilst doing some freelance work, it was amazing, served on a popadom. Coffee was delicious too!!Passed here on my bike on the way to hackney from Euston and very pleased I stopped.
N. A. A.
Always a wonderful experience. I love that their menu is always changing.dishes took forever to arrived but they were well worth the wait. Amazing flavor and presentation
A. M.
The beetroot, carrot and corn fritters with avocado and poached egg were really nice. Unfortunately, the dish was initially served cool, but the staff offered to replace it directly and the second plate was delicious. The ox cheek was also good. Quite unusual, but tasty.
T. T.
Oh my goodness.....the absolute best fresh eggs and avocado. Awesome monster green drink and humongous sandwiches. Come and see how the locals do it.....London style. My absolute favorite brunch restaurant!!!
M. T.
An amazing find in a quiet neighborhood off the beaten path in Shoreditch. Great coffee and brunch. I had a hard time choosing between all the dishes, ended up getting the corn fritters (with pineapple salsa!) and they were amazing! Great solo spot or with a party of 4 or less. They have outdoor bench seating, beautiful on a nice day. Highly recommend this cute spot if you’re in the area
n. d.
Coffee was okay but the food was really good
A. L.
I went here this past weekend after passing by several times and seeing it packed. It didn’t disappoint. Cute decor and tasty brunch. Would be great on a sunny day to sit on he benches outside. I’ll definitely be returning soon! I ordered the ‘hot cakes’ and will give the scrambled eggs a go next time around.
l. C.
If the only problem with a cafe is the beautiful sun being too warm then you must be into a good thing.
There were so many great food choices that I literally could not decide so left my fate to the friendly waiter who picked the salmon!! Wow, was it great.
I will definitely be back!
S. A.
Delightful coffee and nice atmosphere
A. P.
Delicious breakfasts! one of the best places I ve tried. Good quality and very good presentation. I went there at 12.30 though and the most popular breakfasts and orange juice were gone.
S. H.
First time at Friends Of Ours - can see why my brother loves this place so much. Had the vegan friendly broccoli steak. The best plate of food I've had in a long time. The oat cappuccino was great - think the coffee's from Dark Arts. The staff are all lovely. You know the future is vegan when you can get cruelty free food and coffee that's this good. This place rocks x
D. M.
I went to Friends of Ours several times because I live in the neighborhood and because is one of the best breakfast/brunch spot around.
Great coffee and food selection (sweet and savory) that won’t disappoint anyone. Menu changes quite frequently so you can try new dishes pretty much any time you go.
You can sit inside or out side in the sun as I did last Sunday morning, there isn’t a best way to start the day :)
Friendly and easy going environment and staff!
L. N.
Other than it being aesthetically pleasing, nothing extraordinary.
French toast was dry, the dashes of custard not so generous.
The only element I can applaud is the coconut sorbet which was quite refreshing. Other than that - meh
N. K.
Reuben benedict was out of this world. So many amazing flavors coming together with this. Friendly staff. Came sunday morning when they opened at 9:30, by 9:45 it was pretty full. We also tried the buddha bowl with a poached egg which my wife thoroughly enjoyed, very fresh and flavorful. Oat flat white was delicious. Highly recommended, one of our favorite breakfast spots in London!
E. F.
Delicious lunch (vegan options, price not too outrageous), outdoor benches (in the sun at lunchtime) and friendly staff (like the name)
D.
The french toast is just so yummy! It's an explosion of taste, starting from the toast to the coconut sorbet and the peach. The place can get quite busy, so we needed to wait 30 minutes to get seated and another 35 for the food to arrive.
V. B.
Visited "Friends of Ours" on a sunny Saturday - the staff were great - attentive and helpful, coffee was ok (was way too strong for my liking) , but the food.. the food was truly exquisite!!! One of the best brunches I had in East London to date! Their Japanese Benedict is an absolutely amazing flavour sensation you have to try!
Z. Z.
One of the best breakfasts I had in London was in here, the pancake is just amazing. Scrambled eggs were nice too! The staff is friendly and service is excellent!
J. C. H. S.
Great brunch. Lovely ricotta pancakes, duck breast Benedict eggs and coffee. Friendly staff and lovely terrace
S. O.
I have lived a ten minute walk away from this place for six months now and I wish I had found it sooner. Very kind and knowledgeable staff, lovely atmosphere. The area is so peaceful, you would never know it was a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of Old Street.
I had the Reuben Benedict; a very unique take on an old reliable that was bursting with flavour and was beautifully presented. I ate it so quickly, I'm glad that I managed to photograph the evidence beforehand.
To finish I had an americano and a brownie. The lunch was a bit on the expensive side but it was totally worth it. I'll be back for sure.
P. S.
Great food, drinks and service. The Japanese Benedict was tasty. Nice place to sit in the morning sun
C. Z.
One of the best scramble eggs on toast and french toast I’ve had in London. Great coffee, pastries and breakfast
A. P.
Honestly one of the best lunches in Old Street/Hoxton. Delicious and healthy menu with a friendly team. Will definitely be back soon
T. S.
The food is amazing! The place is very nice and the stuff very friendly! A perfect brunch!
D. B.
Such a welcoming place with great food for a weekend brunch. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere was nice and pleasant. Worth giving a try!
P. H. S.
Not going to lie I've wanted to try these guys and girls for a while and it didn't disappoint. The brew project on filter and the eggs bene.... So so good.
D. M.
The most instagram-able brunch; Rich and delicious flavours in a small cosy sitting near the park. First had the cauliflower harissa which I didn’t care for, but our server very graciously allowed me to change my order to the salmon eggs on toast which were delicious! Great friendly service and delicious coffee.
T. H.
Great local cafe serving perfect coffee and the best oat and honey biscuits I’ve had in ages. Worth a visit if near Shoreditch/Old Street area. Always excellent service with pleasant atmosphere.
T. K. Z.
Delicious food and lovely service
D. P.
Great coffee but over salty brunch, just bad luck?
V. B.
Lovely spot for brunch, lunch, late lunch, snack—any meal really. The coffee is delicious and the food is amazing. On your way out grab a bottle of wine or some of their delicious cacklebean eggs and butter. Just a fab neighborhood food stop :)
A. B.
Great brunch exceeding my expectations! Highly recommend for a pleasant culinary surprise and great service.
N. H.
Great Australian style cafe with fabulous food, great coffee and excellent staff. Wonderful place to sit outside on a warm day and enjoy lovely food and coffee.
E. M. (.
Good and very tasty food for reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. Extra plus point: they accept Cardpayments. Picture: Fried Eggs on Toast and Iced Latte, was about 10€.
Y. -.
Absolutely love this joint! Went here two days in a row and each day charmed me more.
PRO TIP: try their Pork Congee, you won't be disappointed. Perfect for a quick bite in the morning or a longer sit-in for brunch and beyond.
Y. C.
Delicious taste and creative platters. Perfect for a sunday brunch. I ve never been there earlier than 12 noon mayne thats why there is a waiting list to sit. small place with good taste and nice smelling coffee. If you are around east london, just walking in and try to grab a table, its worth it.
D. O.
Friendly bunch and nice tasty grub. Will be back.
M. S.
The food was so good here!! You have to try the matcha and cherry brioche french toast especially. Also the lady who greeted me was very friendly. I've tried a lot of matcha lattes in different places and most of the time its so disappointing but I was not left disappointed at Friends of Ours. Will definitely be coming back here.
n. b.
Amazing cold brew, probably one of the best I've tasted, really good food and great service! Loved it
K. G.
We are obsessed! The food is unbelievable and so pretty ❤️ the only possible criticism is the wait time, especially for coffee, but we know this so expect it and it’s all worth the wait 🥰
M. M. M.
Absolutely delicious food here! As a very hungry boy was worried from photos that portions where quite small however after ordering 2 bacon focaccias I was pleasantly surprised they're ruddy massive! I was left feeling very full and happy. Staff where very friendly and service was around 10 minutes which is great. Would definitely eat here again!
T. A.
I can't say anything more than i feel i was at home, all food served was excellent and prices is acceptable for the quality of food and atmosphere.
S. C.
Amazing brunch!!! I had the matcha and cherry brioche french toast. SO DAMN GOOD 👌🏻
I. F.
Incredible brunch place. Would recommend everything I had. Can’t wait to come back!
R. E.
Great experience all the way through. Cakes amazeballs. Go here for breakfast/brunch and expect wait time during weekends. Totally worth waiting though. Staff was really nice.
S. F.
Vegan friendly café, their coffee and croissants are amazing. Friends of Ours is my fav spot for breakfast and quick lunch, super recommended!
p. j.
My favourite place to go for brunch in London. The food I incredible and the service is amazing.
J. S.
Oxtail benedict was delish! Good portion size and great flavour. Expect a bit of a wait to get a table. Toilet is downstairs, so not wheelchair accessible.
D. K.
Great food and really friendly staff. We especially liked the French Toast. It wasn't in the typical maple syrup style and was delicious!
T. S.
Good food and nice place. They really should close the door in cold weather, though.
A. L.
Great place for brunch, cool vibe and affordable prices!
H. Z.
Great food! Very pleased with what we had.
M. L.
Friendly staffs, simple vibes in the air. Everything is fresh and wonderful, except the lobster we ordered a bit fishy, still worth to go.
P. W.
The food here is so good, my friend and I keep going back to work through the menu and baked goods. Coffee (Dark Arts) is excellent. Salivate just thinking about it. Discovered this place in lockdown and would like to go back when it’s not in takeaway mode as that’s the only downside of the dining experience. Have seen some people say the staff can be unfriendly, I agree sometimes they do seem stressed, but not holding it against them right now, I find pandemics pretty stressful too!
A. P.
Great little brunch place. They change the menu often but it's always really beautiful, original and absolutely delicious. You often have to wait for table but not long usually. Great coffee too, vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options available.
M. B.
Awesome vibe, delicious and interesting breakfast items, very chill and friendly spot in Shoreditch, instant fave!
J. p.
If you like pampering, go somewhere else. If you like excellent take away food and benches to sit on with an efficient service, come here. Waitress performs her job description- waits on tables. good to see you guys open. best of luck.
J. H.
Easily my favourite cafe on Pitfield Street. That might not sound like a huge level of praise - but trust me, there's plenty of competition. Friends of Ours always has banging coffee & the atmosphere is spot on. If you like a little sweet treat - this place has you covered too. I once went in and was completely torn between the cinnamon bun & the sticky swirl thing. The staff member recommended the cinnamon bun and he was honestly so right. It's the best cinnamon bun I've had since Copenhagen (which was 4 years ago) and it's really challenged my thinking on suitable breakfast food (having recently been firmly in the savoury camp). Regularly recommend this place to everyone. My colleague also won't shut up about their eggs. Admittedly, I haven't tried the eggs but my colleague was a head chef so I trust he knows a thing or too about l'oeuf.
A. K.
WITHOUT A DOUBT the best brunch/breakfast in London. Came here 2 years ago and keep coming back. It is full of flavour and experimental food with a seasonal menu! Staff are lovely and enthusiastic! I’ve had to wait every time I’ve been but it’s worth it! Please go!
M. P.
So unusual to find a creative menu like this when everyone else seems to be serving the same old things. The sea bass poké is super healthy, balanced and delicious.
R. P.
Absolutely amazing food and drink full stop. Now add in all the dairy, gluten, or sugar free options and it's truly a gem for those of us with unusual diet restrictions. So happy my host recommend. My new favorite coffee in London... perhaps anywhere? Oat milk flat white was so good I ordered a second to go.
C. “. L.
🌟 food, 👌 coffee, lovely small place with outside seating, great staff and service. Trendy local crowd.
M. K.
Very nice place for breakfast/brunch. Coffee was also very good and the service exceptional, very friendly and relaxing vibes. Thank you :)
C. N.
We had Friends of Ours delivered to us in our office, and it was absolutely delicious. I had the Salmon and Potatoes, and the potato was crisp, salmon hot and the artichoke dip was fabulous. It kept warm during transport as well which was amazing. I will definitely order from them again!
V. H.
Tasty and innovative.. Love the sour egg in the porridge but the amount is too small
S. E.
Gem of a find. Great coffee, relaxed feel, chill staff but professional, clean and awesome breakfast options.
C.
AMAZING place for brunch! Menu is seasonably updated and caters to different dietary requirements. Coffee is superb. Staff are attentive and friendly. What else do you need? (They're also dog-friendly too!)
A. H.
I recommend this place for Sunday brunch. Great food healthy choices which are still really yummy. There are also vegan options. Downside was the waiting which In fact wasn't that long but the guy took my name wrote it on a list and never told me the table was vacant. After a while I went inside and there were 4 tables free!!! He did the same with the next clients. The rest of the staff was lovely. But this guy was really not helpful
Y. C.
One of my favourite cafes in London.
The presentation of food is always amazing and the taste is even more impressive. Its a small cafe and often busy with queues but its worth the wait. They have nice espresso based drinks and filter coffee too.
I love that they have a seasonal menu so its always exciting going back for the food.
Only annoying thing is that its not convenient for me to travel to. A bit for from the closest tube station.
G. N.
Fantastic brunch with few but delicious options
O. S.
Great brunch food, and very 'instagrammable' plates!
A. L.
Very nice and cozy place and friendly staff. I ate Ocean Trout & Scrambled Eggs on sourdough toast with extra smashed avocado
L. L.
Delicious brunch place, good coffee too.
H. O.
Amazing food that changes seasonally and done with great presentation and taste and always consistent! Great coffee's and fresh juices and the new layout is much more accommodating. Our favorite local breakfast spot which we continue to come back to again and again!
C. L.
Quaint local coffee shop.
The coffee was amazing. They offer a variety of foods. The eggs Benedict were really good. We also had a croissant sandwich. In addition, they serve pastries and fresh pressed juices.
Would definitely recommend if you're around.
S. “. H.
The cafe is snug and was chock-a-block on Sunday for brunch. Despite being so busy, the service remained friendly and warm. The decor is clean, simple and uplifting. They use Ozone coffee here and the flat white I had was strong, velvety and simply perfect. The Breakfast Skillet is exciting and stunning - in looks and in flavour. There was just one small mistake; the first serving of buttermilk fried chicken was still raw in the middle. However, they took it away apologetically and came back with a freshly, thoroughly cooked serving. Well-seasoned crispy batter and silky soft meat: now that's how it should be done. I think I might have just found a new favourite brunch cafe.
A. K.
I will definitely be back to this cafe. I struggled to choose something off the menu but really enjoyed the Buddha bowl I settled for. Thankfully my friends are greedy and so we were able to share a French toast too. I will be back for sure to try something new.
H. S.
Ordered at Deliveroo and it was honestly so good, the banana cream souffles are amazing (the banana cream and chocolate cream are something else) and the eggs bene (without bread) was amazing. Please come back to Deliveroo, it was the best brunch I had during this quarantine! Definitely will be paying a visit when all of this is over
R. K. (.
Coffee was so good!! I got the pork belly eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The pork belly had a sweet glaze, and the sweet and salty combo was really good. My friend got the corn and beetroot fritters, very aesthetically pleasing and also delicious.
The interior is really cute and homey.
H. D. S.
Really lovely service. QR code menus for covid safety. Americano was really nice. Would recommend the focaccia bacon sandwich.
Á. D.
One of my favourite coffee places in the area, highly recommended++++
M. A.
Love the staff and they have the best pain au chocolat (from dusty knuckles). Super tasty food! Can't wait for them to reopen under normal circumstances :-)
M. D.
Not even sure where I should start. Hands down, best breakfast ever. We were lucky we could wait in the sun - were seated in less than 10 minutes. Very special dishes and the taste.... blew our mind. We had a nice prosecco with it to complete the experience. Will not forget about this one!
J. C.
Absolutely amazing.
I had their Oxtail Benedict which was to die for. The meat was so tender, it melted in my mouth. The hollandaise sauce had the perfect balance to go with the richness of the egg yolk. Not to mention, the salad they served on the side was tossed with a citrus dressing that really cuts through the richness of the dish, striking a perfect balance. For dessert, I decided to get a blueberry lemon cake with lavender, and it was equally as amazing as the main was, although quite pricey at £3 ~ for just a small piece (The radius of a drinking cup)
The servers were also very friendly and smiled a lot which made me feel very welcomed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to have brunch.
P. T.
Overall enjoyed breakfast here. Salmon and eggs was very tasty, brisket dish needed more hollandaise for the amount of potato. Coffee was good, one staff member was great but the others seemed a bit glum and uninterested.
M. H.
Smashed avo with crab meat was delicious and very filling. The coffee is one of the best I've had in London.
The staff were all really lovely and it looks nice inside. The waiter offered to bring us split bills without us even having to ask. Definitely would like to go back and try more!
T. G.
Great little coffee shop with a decent flat white. I didn't eat there but the brunches looked to be more than just your average scrambled eggs on toast and they smelled excellent as they passed.
L. L.
The best brunch place in town. We‘ve been going to friends for a while now and really love it. It can get quite busy but they are always friendly, always have the best quality food and beverage and the staff is very attentive. Treat yourselves to it, you will not regret it. Price is worth it.
F. S.
It is on the more pricey side for a cafe, but the food is delicious and healthy. Also the staff are always really friendly. One of my favourite spots for a midweek treat
S. J.
It's a cute place to stop at close to the park. The day I went there were no vegan options, but a member of staff kindly let me have a snack I had with my coffee. The coffee was good, though it's a bit much to charge 50p for non-dairy milk, hopefully they'll lift that charge :) there was a dog there so it's nice to see a pet-friendly café as well!
A. V.
Very tiny latte for a full size price
l. m.
Crazy good breakfast, friendly team and perfect Coffee!
y. t.
The best brunch cafe I've visited in London. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was phenomenal. I was so fascinated by its creative recipe and beautiful decoration.
C. P.
Good brunch, few options, really like the hollandaise though some around the table found it a bit much. It's a great spot locally, just not sure it's a the 4.9 star level it's rocking at the minute. The service was nice, but they forgot one of our sides, and though the vibe is good, there is nothing much more to it than that. Again, probably in reaction to the 4.9. It's still a pretty good brunch, just not a destination brunch.
A. N. R.
Cozy, familiar place with great food and very friendly staff ❤
N. B.
I am a huge fan of this place and have been coming here regularly over the last 6 months. However last time was a disappointment. The menu got changed to feature mostly vegan options, we went for the new eggs benedict option (good but the friends of ours benedict was a lot better). We managed to get the last 2 orange juices (at 11.30am on a Sunday). We later heard the waiters saying that they had run out of eggs benedict (at 12), i am assuming that given lack of options most non vegans were ordering the same dish. It was sunny so the outdoors space probably doubled the capacity of the place, which meant waiters were overstretched and the kitchen was very slow, we waited over 45min to get our food, had to ask for the bill a few times, etc.
Given how good this place was on other days, I hope they were just having a bad day...
H. Y.
Great coffee and great food can't fault it, glad they are in the area. Probably the best coffee shop in the area actually, don't bother giving your money to grind or ozone and origin. Keep it local as these guys have consistently been doing their thing!
A. D.
Food was good, coffee good (albeit a bit too hot at first), however I found the brunch menu a bit limited in regards to creative egg dishes, so I had to build my own which was basically two food items and bread in order to keep the cost reasonable.
F. I.
I come here for brunch at least twice a mouth. Amazing menu of favourite brunch options with a fusion twist. The coffee is strong, the atmosphere is buzzing and I can't wait for their winter menu to return!
D. L.
Really great little place with a local feel. Prices are decent (think slightly more expensive than a Nandos) but the food is wholesome and prepared with care while also boasting some lovely flavour combos. Staff are all really kind and attentive-- a great place to stay at and work from for a couple of hours too. Bright and airy feel to the space. Definitely recommend 👍🏼
O. B.
I was mostly interested in the coffee and it was really good
J. M.
Were there on Fri afternoon, taking last free table. We had Golden Daytime Bao and Salmon & Chilli Eggs, both tasted absolutely perfect and looked great on the plate. Flat white of the better ones.
J. W.
Favourite brunch place in london (this says a lot as we are completely spoilt for choice here). great coffee. food is classic. super tasty and with a twist. their BACON omg you should taste this for yourself!
M. G.
Staff is really friendly, and food is really good quality and not too expensive especially for this area. I am a decaf-drinker and the quality of the decaf coffee is fantastic (water- washed). They do charge and extra 50p for decaf, but as I said, quality is well worth it 👍
S.
Really good coffee and creative healthy food. Great for brunch but you will probably have to wait a while as it is popular and only small. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
K. H.
A little cramped but the brunch food is sublime
S.
Fabulous little place, great breakfast!!!!
C. L.
The service here is unmatched in the area. Coffee is perfect and the food is now consistently great. Loads of special menu items always on offer. Stop wasting your time queuing for mediocre breakfast spots in the area and give this place a shot.
A. C.
Fresh ingredients, nice ambient and good service. The mocha I ordered was ok though. I might be back just to try another dish since they're very creative and they make a good use of unusual ingredients.
S. G.
Lovely place! Great service, excellent brunch choices. Came on a Saturday and were seated immediately.
Looking forward to coming back and trying their other tasty options!
A. D.
Been multiple times over the year. I would say it's the best cafe in the area by miles. Food is delicious, constantly changing the menu every few months to provide variety. Great bunch of people serving.
A. H.
Arrive before 11 to get a table and make sure you order the baked eggs with a side of chorizo on the side. Totally worth it - the chorizo is delicious! The staff were awesome enough to provide us with individual receipts without us asking! Rocking service :D
F. B.
OMG, they just do everything right! From super tasty coffee and chai latte to a creative and unusual food menue where everything is sooo jummy. The kitchen is super small so they must do magic ;) honestly, the place to be on a sunny weekend morning - love it, keep going like this!
I. P.
Our favorite neighborhood place for brunch. Great staff, excellent coffee, an eclectic mix of healthy and tasty dishes, and a bright, comfortable space. Our only objection is that we sometimes have to wait for a table!
V.
One of the best hidden places for brunch. Tried all vegetarian dishes and all were really delicious.
Quick service
Good coffee
Nice environment
Friendly staff
O. B.
A very cute cafe in Hackney, off Old Street. The eggs benedict were perfect and the thick cut bacon nothing short of amazing. Not sure what the praline crumbs are good for though.
Also had a wonderful Chai Pistachio donut for the go.
They also have limited seating, so you might have to share a communal table with strangers.
T.
Great food, especially the soufflé pancakes. The staff is very friendly, overall a great place to have breakfast, although bear in mind it is hard to get a place during peak hours - what is hardly a surprise.
S. Y.
One of the best coffee I had in London so far. Coming from Sydney, I'm delighted to find a place where they have coffee close to what you can get in Australia. £3 for a capp is a bit expensive but Im definitely going back!
P. D.
Good food, great service. However, i gave it a 4 because the eggs were not runny (hard boiled eggs benedict is a sacrilege).
They have a pork belly breakfast that is great ;)
R. L.
Lovely food, and great atmosphere. I’ve been here a number of times, and it has been consistently good. The only issue is the staff who are on in the morning. They are quite dismissive and rude, which detracts a lot from the experience.
I. H.
Very nice and friendly neighbourhood cafe. Loved the food and ambience. Despite the limited menu option, every dish was cooked to perfection and tasted awesome!
F. i.
Unique experience, as i've never tried riccota pancakes. I would recommend a different cheese that would blend better.
Fresh ingredients, but tight seating.
Jugs were filthier than london with the plaque.
Service: Nice enough.
Try the fritters.
H. C.
Breakfast heaven! Great place with great dishes. The menu changes seasonally, which is awesome.
Seat places are not many, however it's worth waiting.
Thank you, Friends of Ours, I will be back soon!
M. H.
Firstly the food and the staff were great, the only downside is the fact that this place is so popular meaning there are considerable waiting times. We thought we had booked online but this is only an estimated waiting time. At the door we were told it would be a 20 minute wait so we put our names down. After 20 minutes we came back and ended up waiting a further 40 minutes before we got seated (by this point we were throughly frozen). Now this is through no fault of the staff, they kept us notified and it's so unpredictable as people would hold up tables by ordering coffee / desserts after their meals but I think they need to come up with a new system, particularly in the cold weather. Possibly they could take people's numbers and call or text when the table is ready. Unless they change the waiting system I wouldn't really recommend visiting at busy times like the weekend.
S. L.
Coffee was legit. Service was really good too. The portion size of the burger wasn't worth a tenner in my opinion. It tasted delicious, but I was done in 4-5 bites or so.
R. F.
Small, so you may have to wait a short while in peak times - however it is worth it! The food changes seasonally and there is always an interesting dish on offer. Great coffee too!
J. C.
Very wholesome hearty tasting food!
J. E.
The service was great but coffee and food took a bit of time to come out. It was busy though. The food is really tasty but possibly not enough of it. Coffee was above average for London, but still not up there with the best.
J. J.
Great brunch, amazing coffee! Could have been quicker but I guess if you have time then the good things come!
K. S.
Great food! Seriously good food. Healthy Asian fusion. The coffee is well made and they are very friendly. It's a hidden gem! With a great sense of community!
A. C.
My god, what a find! The service here was incredibly friendly and it has a lovely atmosphere. We went here for brunch and I had the fritters which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'll definitely be coming back.
J. S.
Best coffee in the area. Food is top rate too, with interesting and adventurous dishes comparable in ways to many great restaurants in London. Try the vegan brownie.
M. N.
Food here was absolutely delicious, and so were the drinks. There’s a small seating space outside which is nice in summer. Losing a star as the bathrooms weren’t very pleasant.
C. T.
Stylish, simple and relaxed. One the new cafés in Pitfield Street. It's a little cheaper than it's neighbour, the Curious Yellow Cafe, which was previously one of the only good food spots. They do good juices and cakes, and are always upbeat.
V. P.
Beautiful food, so tasty, coffee and cocktails are great, recommend it
J. S.
Great place, I went a couple of weeks ago. The service was excellent, really friendly, and the food was brilliant. I had the one man one pan and had to ask how it was made. I've since tried it at home but it was a very poor version so will have to visit again soon!
L. G.
The most amazing brunch you could possibly have on a groggy Wednesday morning. Prices are a bit...urghhhh...but if you can get past that and revel in all those lovely flavours and textures and insta worthy food things then you are in for a real treat my friend.
C. G.
Great food with some unique twists. Superbly made coffee from local roasters. Nice outdoor seating options, not many places have that for brunch around here.
T. M.
French toast was insane!! Coffee was a bit hit and miss
D. B.
Tasty and kind of artistic breakfast meals. When i was there, although the place was not full I had to wait quite some time to get our orders. The coffee is good as well.
A. A. M.
The staff is very helpful, friendly, and cheerful. They created a great vibe for this place and makes this place one of my favorite cafe in London so far.
A. P.
I really wanted to like this spot more. While the employees were friendly, the service was horrible, and it wasn't even that busy while I was there. The food was expensive, fine enough, but small portions. My dish was great, my SO's not so much. Just disappointed as I was looking forward to it based on other pix/reviews
J. K.
This place is fantastic. The eggs the avocado and the bacon are a must. They also take their coffee very seriously. Compared to the places in Hoxton Sq this is way better and slightly off the beaten track.
O. S.
A lucky find - impressed with this cafe, the French toast looked bonkers but was scrumptious. Friendly staff and cozy seating to top it off. Would recommend.
R. G.
Love this place. Well thought out, delicious food that is also great value in a bright and comfortable venue. Staff are also efficient and lovely. Far outshines any of the other cafes on Pitfield St.
D. W.
Will definately buy my coffee here again , friendly staff and under the circumstances my coffee was brought out to me quickly. Highly recommended....
M. B.
Really great coffee, delicious cakes and amazing brunches 😊 The only small minus for the toilet that would need renovation. Anyway, I recommend this place a lot !
E. G.
Delicious brunch. Nice place.
L. D. N.
Live just down the street and my friend recommended me this place. Really nice service and good coffee! Perfect go to on Fridays when I’m off work as it gets very busy on the weekend( a good sign)!
A. M.
Fab little cafe and it is true the golden turmeric latte is warm and spot on perfection. Nice menu choice for savoury and sweet.
V.
Lovelyplace for a weekend brunch. Been here twice. Once in the weekend one ôa Friday and one on a Saturday. Food was great both days but definitely avoid the weekday, the friendlier service was on the Weekend.
D. L.
Great service and best brunch and coffee in the area. Probably some of the best in London. Definitely needs air conditioning though, waaaay too hot in mid summer.
J. G.
Perfect place for a... pick me up. Vegan White Russians anyone?
p.
love the coffee, place, and the guys are super cool too. and they sell great yellow eggs <3
M. B.
Still one of my favourite brunch spots in London. Great coffee, innovative dishes & nice atmosphere.
J. H. S.
Friendly staff. Coffee is great . The croissant with pastrami is amazing ! Nice relaxing atmosphere.
M. F.
Delicious fresh and healthy food! Staff is super friendly. Great ambience. Great for people with dietary requirements (veggie, vegan, GF, etc.)
W. M.
The harissa eggs (and the food in general) are great, service is friendly and good (although a little slow at busy times). The coffee is some of the best around.
C. K.
Very nice and very instagrammable food!
J. C.
Amazing coffees, great selection of filters! Staff super nice, food incredible, you will leave there energised, smiling and full <3
T. W.
The roasted Cauliflower was delicious, but the tofu tacos lacked the needed oompf in comparison. Staff were super friendly though!
N. M.
Nice place in a nice neighbourhood, if a bit too trendy. The brunch we had was really tasty! Expect to pay about 15 pounds per person.
T. E.
The coffee was insanely good - best place I have found for coffee thus far in London! Their food is pretty great too, I had the mushrooms on toast :)
S. P.
Perfekt breakfast place. Very good coffee. The Reuben Benedict and the cinnamon buns were delicious!
P. X.
Nice and cozy coffee shop! Great variety of specialty coffee and brunch menu!
A. S.
Nice little coffee shop/café. Can be annoying if you have to sit next to the door on a cold day with people going on and out. Otherwise the coffee, food and service is all excellent.
B. C.
Great place for brunch! Enjoyed the food and drinks and the staff were friendly. The food was a little slow coming out however
j. E.
Beautiful food with a definite wow factor. A fantastic ambiance... And I have no complaints whatsoever. And I complain About everything.
Y. Y. P.
Our local Cafe and one of the best coffees in London. Great spot for brunch also.
M. J.
Lovely staff, nice vibe, limited vegan pastries unfortunately and coffee is usually good
D. S.
Awesome staff, really friendly. The food was delicious too; I had the salmon pastrami on toasted bread with scrambled egg.
E. H.
Loved the honeycomb coffee, vegan options and my god those Aussie cookies!! ❤️😱
Go just go. And talk to the people, they are lovely 😊
Y. D.
The brunch was delicious, but once we sat and ordered, we waited for about 20 min for the hot drinks and 20 more for the food.
A. L.
Aussie inspired brunch menu (lots of avocado - win!), decent coffee and lovely staff. Top 3 brunch spots in Shoreditch.
C. W.
My favourite place for brunch in London. Perfect food (go for the steak and avocado), perfect service, perfect atmosphere. Strong WiFi.
M. M.
Great coffee, food is nice, however am sure they use pre packed bacon and not the usual bacon rashers
D. T.
Great filter coffee, friendly and warm hospitality, fantastic chill and relaxed vibes. Food was also fantastic. I’ll definitely return.
E. H.
Lovely food, lovely coffee and lovely staff. Made three severely hungover people's morning infinitely brighter. We'll be back!
S. R.
Great food and friendly staff
J. A.
Amazing brunch style food, the dishes are really tasty spins of brunch food. Dessert was surprising excellent also on the same style.
M. G.
Great place for a coffee/bite. I often work there for a couple hours during the week.
Staff are great and food is delicious.
D. M.
Cracking cup of coffee and I highly recommend the Bombay muffin!
H. P.
The best coffee shop in Hoxton. Fantastic selection of products, lovely staff and excellent coffee.
A. Z.
Been enjoying their weekend brunch since they opened. The changing menu is always exciting and pushing the usual flavor boundries!
N. R.
"Australasian Inspired" really undersells the quality of this place. Coffee and food both absolutely top tier and would be the envy of many an Aussie cafe.
R. H.
Good vegetarian food, right in the city center
M. J.
One of my favourite cafes. Best porridge in town, possibly the world. Flawless service and good tunes.
J. L.
Amazing coffee, food looks fantastic (not yet tried it) but the best part are the friendly and chatty staff that work there.
L. C.
Fantastic little local cafe serving speciality coffee and creative brunch food. Great location and very busy on weekends!
A. R.
Food was ok. Coffee is ok. Overpriced for what is delivered given the choice in the the area. I would suggest looking a bit more south for better options.
K. D.
Reqlly tasty and chill place. The menu is always being updated and the coffee is on point. It can sometimes get really busy on weekends though.
J. C.
Amazing brunch. The staff are top notch and so is the food. The french toast was incredible.

Totally delicious brunch destination.
E. B.
Tasty brunch! If you are looking for a culinary experience, just go. Be prepared to wait at busy times.
R. C.
Super friendly staff, good cake. Unusual Australian influenced menu, also good for food intolerances.
B. O.
Coffee was ok. Staff not so friendly and the space is small, so at busy times they get a bit frantic.
T. F.
Food is amazing but the service is not good. The two times we have been they manage to get the orders wrong both times.
Y. G.
Super cute neighborhood cafe, excellent baked goods and coffee, great team running this place.
