Reviews of Gray

We went in for a bit of lunch with a friend. We had been here previously and enjoyed it very much. This time was no different.
We had a 2 cheese toasty, a chorizo and cheese toasty and a salmon and crushed avocado on toast. All 5*. Our friend had some sort of salad with different beans and pomegranate. It looked good.
As a treat we shared a fig cake, which had real fig on top and a pear cake which had a pear half inside. These were both very good, the fig especially.
Very friendly and helpful people.
We will be going again.

Our first visit, very impressed. Only ordered eggs on toast and coffees this time round, all was good. Looking forward to trying something else on the menu.
Very clean, nice seating areas, lovely friendly staff.
Lots of yummy food/gifts too, well worth a visit.
Highly recommended.

Lovely little cafe with great coffee and locally made artisanal products and homewares. Delightful atmosphere, very warm and welcoming.

Lovely little cafe off Leytonstone High Road. Delicious coffee, a small menu of various breakfast staples and light lunch bites as well as cakes. Somewhere nice and friendly to stop and enjoy a coffee. They also sell homewares and unusual/ different China etc. A favourite of mine.

GRAY is a small but very pleasant café. There is a choice from a small menu where everyone can find something. There is also a selection of something sweet for coffee and portions of cakes are literally "breathtaking" 🙂

A heavenly oasis in a desert of chicken shops and launderettes. The staff are wonderful. The decor chic. And the baked beans are out of this world.

Very good breakfast and hot chocolate in the neighbourhood

Fabulous little cafe on leytonstone high road. Family (mother and daughter) run business with a tasty menu of breakfast, brunch and sandwiches. Coffee is also quite nice and from a local roastery.
The cafe is located towards the back whilst the front of the shop has some lovely and unique homeware pieces (armchairs, light fittings, plates, glassware, etc.). They also have some great local produce for sale (e.g. honey, soaps, candles, cards).
This cafe deserves to be a huge success. I hope the community continue to get behind this great cafe. The family are genuine, lovely local people. Literally, Asado, Mora and Grays are the best the area has to offer.... but in addition, are true gems of East London.

I found the cafe by chance while visiting friends. Lovely to see an artisan cafe in the area with nice coffee and pastries. I like the decorations and what are on the shelves too, would love to purchase some of the tableware!!

Gray is a family run cafe that serves really well made coffee and food! Dont be deceived by the incredible homewares section at the front as there is seating around the back. The service was really genuine and kind which made you feel very comfortable in their cafe. Definitely going to be my weekend coffee spot from now on!

Truly one of the best cafes in London. Its a bright star in an unassuming stretch of the Leytonstone High Road. The cafe itself is beautiful, with shelves at the front selling artisan goods from pots and vases to sauces and coffee beans. The food is sensational. Although the menu isn't extensive, everything on it is so fresh, unctuous, and delicious. We kept coming back for the brioche buns with egg, a fiery and smokey tomato relish, and halloumi. The cakes are huge, moist, and full of flavour. Big slabs of salted caramel and pecan sponge have proved irresistible, day after day. The staff are wonderful and friendly, and its completely worth checking out if you are in the E11 corner of London.

Absolutely incredible food, very comforting atmosphere and lovely staff too, with a really nice selection of cakes and other extras sold there that are well worth checking out!

A wonderful new addition to South Leytonstone - lovely furniture /homewares, homemade cakes & food and delicious coffee (all lovingly made). Friendly family-run staff and a cosy atmosphere. A must visit.

An absolute gem of an independent cafe with delicious coffee and cakes along with friendly and helpful service.

Friendly staff and good service. Good food and coffee.

Amazing cakes and lunch options - their flavour combinations (sweet and savoury) are outstanding. Well sourced food and homeware products, desperate to work out how to fit it all in my house... Plus lovely friendly staff to boot

Great coffee, friendly owner and staff, 10/10!
F. H.
Great service, delicious coffees, food and cakes (plenty of vegan/vege options) and their selection of local artisan homeware is top notch! I go in for a coffee and come out with a plethora of gorgeous homeware goods too, count this as a warning. 🤭😁
J. R.
Beautiful little cafe and incredibly reasonably priced. Great selection of brunch dishes, lovely local coffee and the cakes look beautiful although we haven't tried it yet. The furniture and other bits and bobs up front all look great, I wish we had room for some of it!
A. Q. L.

Lovely coffee shop with lots of beautiful trinkets and treats. I had delicious homemade apple cake and a super smooth flat white. Great spot for quality stocking fillers also, candles, cards, etc. Friendly staff who know the products and they have kombucha which made my mum very happy!

Really lovely staff and amazing high quality food offering great value for money. Just a lovely warm and clean place that’s a pleasure to visit. Also sell some lovely things. Bought myself some great quality organic apple cider vinegar infused with turmeric and cinnamon.

The owners are warm and welcoming, extremly friendly and have provided a place with a lovely, warm and inviting atmosphere. My partner had a lovely freshly made sandwich and really enjoyed it, deffo worth visiting if you are in the area! They also sell furniture at the front of the shop - had my eye on a few things!

Absolutely delicious food, great service and beautiful place. So happy we finally have a nice cafe in this area! Also kid friendly- went with my 3 year old and she had kids beans on toast and played with their toys.

I had a delicious coffee from Gray Café this morning! What a fantastic addition to the area. I love the shop in the front and the lady was extremely friendly. Also, their disposable coffee cups are 100% biodegradable which is a plus! Once they are open from 8am in the new year, I will definitely be making this a regular stop for my morning coffee fix.

One of the best cafes in Waltham Forest! Such a warm friendly atmosphere and the food is delicious! It’s also very reasonably priced. If you are looking for breakfast or a coffee with a friend then pop here!
R. D.
What a lovely new place in E11. Been here a couple of times now and will be back. Food is freshly cooked with vegan options. It's delicious and great value for money. Highly recommend the halloumi salad! The owners are lovely and welcoming.

A delightful new cafe in Leyton! The front half has furniture and various homeware bits and pieces for sale.
There’s also a section with a variety of delicious homemade cakes - the selection changes but there are usually gluten free and vegan options which is fantastic!
The back half of the shop is the cafe area with tables to sit and eat (or to drink a coffee). They have a selection of grilled sandwiches which are all made fresh and in house - I would definitely recommend trying one as they’re delicious and very good value for money.
Everyone was so lovely and friendly I will be visiting again soon!

Lovely day at this lovely place - highly recommended by my colleague, Vicky; and I was not disappointed.
All our food was fresh and actually tasted fresh - absolutely loved that touch of pomegranate seeds in the salad. I went there to try their avocado on toast but ended up with a heavenly mozzarella and sundried tomatoes toastie (I still had my avocado on the side!) and a gorgeous chai latte.
Vicky clearly enjoyed her halloumi wrap and her slightly modified flat white - loved the fact that they remembered how exactly she likes it.
The place itself is small but adorable and ever so cozy. With loads of houseplants - that alone was more than enough for me.
The owners themselves were warm and welcoming, and the service was without fault. Impressive. A little gem in Leytonstone. Who knew?!
G. S.
My first beverage in a cafe for months. Had a lovely hot chocolate and an almond croissant prepared by a lovely Swiss gentleman who was kind enough to spend time chatting to a conversation- hungry older lady.
F. H.
Such a lovely atmosphere, great coffee and amazing food! Great selection of gluten free brunch options. Everyone who works here are so lovely.
C.
Lovely pastries, cakes and coffee here and all very Covid secure. Friendly staff. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I’ve been here a few times now and wanted to wait for a while before posting a review. This new addition to Leytonstone deserves the 5 stars I’m giving it. The staff are super friendly, it’s a family run cafe/shop and they make you feel very welcome. The food is delicious and made fresh to order (I recommend the halloumi wrap). Drinks (they have coffee, tea, hot choc etc) were also tasty. They also sell good, quality furniture and homeware which not only look good but are also affordable. This is my new go-to cafe and I plan on purchasing some furniture from them in the near future

This place is as cute as the pictures reflect. An oasis of luxe and comfort in a sea of otherwise dithering avoidable shops. Lovely coffee matched by lovely service. This is newish local and hopefully a reflection of things to come.

Gray is a breathe of fresh air to the Leytonstone High Rd and the south Leytonstone area. Beyond the mix of vintage and new homewares is a cosy cafe serving excellent coffee from a local roasters, home made cakes, plus sandwiches and brunch bowls are all delicious. This family run venture is my favourite place to pop in, say hello and grab a coffee to go or a lazy weekend breakfast!
S. L.
Finally a decent cup of coffee available in E11. Gray only opened today 12th Dec 18.
A choice of coffee from locally roasted beans (curved Brick Co. (sling shot)) with tables at the back. The front sells retro furniture.
The staff are friendly and looking to provide brunch at weekends.
They are easing in over the next few weeks and fully launching in January.

Ohh lawd let me tell you about this halloumi wrap that i was served at this establishment. I have never eaten such a wonder in all my days, it is all i could think about all day- i sincerely cannot wait to return to feast upon this delicacy in the future.
And the people? Oh my they were the kindest folk I've ever encountered, after a long hard morning they were the smiles and the friendly faces i needed to make it through the rest of the day.
5/5 doesn't do justice.
