Reviews of Hagen Espresso Bar (Hagen Chelsea)
A. T.
Seriously the MOST VELVETY CAPPUCCINO in town. The staff are super kind and nice. The coffee Is AMAZING. I didn’t have coffee in 4 months and the thought of having a coffee took me straight to Hagen this morning. It also a cool place to hang out.
K. P.
Small but nice place for a quick coffee in Chelsea London. Coffee was great I love it so much. I had hot Latte and I feel it stronger than other coffee shop. They have such a challenging wall seat 😅which is a bit uncomfortable. Staff was friendly. Overall was great. Would come back to try the other items.
C. G.
Lovely coffee and interior but left something to be desired.
Came in today for a quick double espresso, beautiful interior and nice space even though it is very small they manage to make a good space out of it.
For a speciality coffee shop I would have liked more variety of my coffee blend and input from the barista but I understand only having a single blend.
The espresso I would say was nice. Just nice. It was a bit over extracted I would say and lacked depth of flavour, most likely it is late in the day and the espresso needs to be dialed in more.
One comment I must say, the stool chairs are grossly hard to sit on and extremely uncomfortable. Like sitting on a pole.
Overall OK coffee and nice vibe inside.
If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!

Like the name of the shop describes, this is an espresso bar and a very excellent one too, there are some snacks to bite but they mainly sell coffee. The people working behind the counters know very well about their coffee so your coffee of choice will be done in high quality. My friend likes her flat white which I recommended, she normally only go for lattes and it was her first time trying a flat white. I only had an americano and it was one of the best coffee I ever had. It was not busy so we could find a table to sit and enjoy our drink.
G. Y. T.
nice espresso. the flat white feels abit light in taste though. probably should get the cortado instead.
A. A. R.
Let’s get it straight, these guys do a mean espresso. They really understand the idea of specialty coffee, it shows in the flavour of their beans and the consistency of their shots.
This is not the place to stay for 5 hours and study/work, this is the place to come and sit over an espresso, to take a break from the noise.
It’s a small cafe, with charismatic and friendly baristas. It’s warm. Need a break? Come inside.
O. M.
Tiny but cute little place on the kings road - probably only one that serves a decent cup of Joe. Serving up the really fab Dark Art coffee roasters with a mean flat white (on large modern spirit machine). Was disappointed with batch brew filter (on a standard Marco machine) but it wasn't bad. Might have expected "best coffee in town" (as their sign outside purports ) to have done v60 or similar. Might be slightly unfair as I did see carafes on the shelves at the bad and their space was limited by covid restrictions.
Anyway overall v good.
Nice matcha latte btw too.
B. B.
Such a great coffee shop which has unfortunately been ruined by tik tokker “chelsea lee art” I will never step foot in here again as I had such a horrible experience the other morning after she was shouting disgusting things at her phone
a. R.
Do not skip this place , best coffee place in Chelsea ❤️
N. M.
Nice coffee shop on Kings Road. It is easy to miss so look for the sign outside.
The coffee is very good and the baristas are very friendly. It is a good place to take a break if you are in the area shopping or visiting the Saatchi Gallery.
l. g.
I had my coffee here last week and that was fantastic. nice place and kind people. such a nice coffee
S. B.
Very good atmosphere: they’ve done a really good job to make the most of a tiny space. Good coffee and interesting snacks too.
A. M.
Cosy place with uncomfortable wall seating. Good cup of tea and salmon and cheese croissant. Unisex toilet.
E. B.
This coffee shop is so small that it’s easy to pass by this place. But try not to 😄coz their coffee is very good 👌and barista is super friendly. If you buy beans your coffee will be for free 😉
S. A.
Best oats flat white I've had in London. Simple place, yet solid in its execution.
J. f.
Best cappuccino in the area. 10 out of 10. Limited seating but great coffee.
M. G.
Had my first coffee here 2 days ago and now won’t go anywhere else… the real deal. Nice people too.
S. W.
Always a no-fail option for coffee although the prices are higher than just as good places elsewhere. I suppose there isn't much competition on King's Rd. Nor many who'd blink an eye at the premium.
D. D.
Cute little coffee bar. Quite a cosy space, very good coffee, food looked nice but we didn't try it. Limited seating but nice ambiance.
M. C.
You can easily miss this tiny coffee shop on the Kings Road, but you shouldn’t! The coffee is really very good and so are the tasty pastries. The staff are lovely too! By far the best coffee on the Kings Road!
T. W.
Nice place to get some artisanal coffee!
S. M. P.
A gem! I am so happy we found this coffee shop on King’s Road!! The place is beautiful and they serve an excellent coffee 😛 Don’t miss it as it is quite tiny, you can easily walk pass without noticing.
A.
So lovely and amazing coffee - really very good
C. M.
Best coffee shop I've been to in London. Their Oat Milk Flat White was amazing!!!
S. F.
Four friends met in in London for a few days and were enjoying a walk around the city. A sign that said "Best Coffee In Town" caught our eye, so we gave it a try. This place is the real deal. The coffee was amazing, Glogg was just as delicious, the owner was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing break. To top it all off we got a very informative lesson on all of the different types of coffee beans and the attributes of each. I highly recommend this place. I will be going back the next time I'm in London.
A. D.
Love the coffee here. Wonderful cosy little gem of an independent coffee shop. Not enough of these places around.
J. D.
Excellent coffee, especially the filter!
A. S.
The best coffee in London , I like the Atmosphere & Music
- small coffee shop
A. H.
Great coffee, service and environment.
Z. J.
Great little no fuss coffee shop on Kings Road!!
Had a Capucinno was very pleased
S. B.
Love it. Charming people and delicious coffee from darkartscoffee.co.uk. small place easy to miss but delightful.
C. S.
This really is exceptional coffee! Consistently tasty each time. And the staff are super welcoming and friendly. Ace job gang!
P. R.
We were in London for the day and popped into this Espresso Bar. A notice on the door said “Best coffee in town” which enticed us in. And it is! Great coffee, delicious filled croissants and scrumptious raw balls(almond cream and choc chip). Wish we lived closer!
M. H.
This is an incredibly cute spot! The lovely barista is very knowledgeable. There are the usual variety of coffee and espresso beverages. The flash cold brew was delicious. The café also has a decent about of seating if you’d like to stay for a bit.
M.
Best coffee ever, I confirm.. I am a regular since they have opened.. Excellent on all levels
O. B.
Fantastic coffee, lovely atmosphere and Nicky was extremely friendly. Best coffee joint in London.
D. M.
Coffee from dark arts was ok. Service was very slow as there was only one person on the counter, making food, being a barista and everything between. It’s a very quiet coffee bar, good if your working or reading a book.
M. W.
Best coffee in Chelsea, great staff, and great vibe for such a little place. I highly recommend the batch filter coffee. They have excellent quality beans and excellent baristas. Definitely visit if you are on the King’s road!
s. n.
Brightly lit and luxurious coffee house. They use estates milk and a space age coffee machine so great quality coffee and flat whites. I'd recommend popping in if you're passing
T. G.
My favourite coffee shop in Chelsea, the Oat milk flat white is one of the best around.
a. c.
These guys take their coffee seriously and back it with great personalities. The cafe is a real gem, a local with a friendly attitude not often found in London coffee houses. Highly recommend.
D. G.
Excellent coffee and hot chocolate. Can always tell when they know how to make the swirl patterns on your cappuccino. Nice salmon and avocado open sandwich as well. Nice to have a quality independent coffee shop.
D. S.
I'm obsessed with coffee, and super fussy. This place is SOOO good! The staff are lovely, and the way theyv'e set it up with the card only payment system makes it swift and fuss free. I can pop in and out quickly. I really love the roast they use, as it's smooth and flavourful. The cortado is heavenly. Thank you :))
S.
Friendly, quick, and cute little coffee shop. Great iced coffee.
L. R.
Small coffee shop, tucked away. Good coffee for reasonable prices, but they also sell protein balls and filled croissants. At the time of visiting they had an offer for a coffee, a filled croissant and a juice. There a few seats in the cafe and there is a small bench outside weather permitting.
E. J.
Sunday's are the perfect time to hang out with my coffee musketeers. Always a pleasure to be at Hagen. It wouldn't be a perfect Sunday without seeing my favourite barista' s. Ask for the ethiopian coffee cappuccino the next time you are here. Ps at times there is a que, but you just have to wait.
a. b.
I am a true caapuccino maniac and I have tried thousands of places in Italy and in the world and Haven is firmly in top ranks! First time I could seriously flavour the coffee aroma of pure arabica through milk and if you care for rhe look .. TOMAS can make a work of art out of your cappuccino!
D. K.
Great coffee, super fast and efficient stuff.. recommended!
H.
For me, this is the best coffee in town 👏🏼 great coffee and fabulous service. Ohh don't forget to try the protein balls🔥
C. F.
Tiny coffee spot with surprisingly abundant seating (good use of space) and really friendly staff. Cappuccino with oat milk was okay but not very potent even with two shots.
A. M.
Amazing coffee but the Batista's weren't wearing face coverings. Won't be back in a hurry.
O. F.
Best coffee in London (I've visited a lot of cafes). Amazing staff. Atmosphere second to none. Would highly recommend one of the filter coffees.
A. G.
Great space on Kings Road, the deco is well thought out and the bar is beautiful. Coffee is made with a whole lot of passion here. Great selection of mid morning dishes/ snacks
A. S.
The sign says "best coffee in Chelsea". And it's true. Great little space, awesome staff, and superb fare. Nibbles are nice as well.
S. C.
It was a pretty good cup of coffee at this popular shop. Quite pricey although probably on par for a specialist coffee shop.
A. A.
Good (if a tad expensive) coffee
G. E.
The coffee is lovely and the baristas are friendly and knowledgeable. It smells divine as soon as you walk through the door.
L. C.
I’m pregnant and want to reduce my caffeine intake so i requested if they can make a iced latte (which uses a double shot espresso) using one shot decaf, and the other normal. They said yes, but they have to charge for the extra shot (?!). They quoted me £4.25 instead of the usual £3.25. Disappointing service as I have never been charged by a cafe like this during my pregnancy to date.
P. W.
Excellent artisan coffee, friendly staff, nice decoration.
J. W.
Very good coffee here it tastes great .
V. O.
Good coffee, very small, which is cosy, but heavy. Need to improve on pastries. Croisant, etc. really dry, etc. Go try a pret a manger one, croisant low hanging fruit, come on.

🍽【Food Guide】
📍Detailed address: 151 King's Rd, Chelsea, London SW3 5TX
🚗Traffic guide: Near King's Road bus station
🍽Recommended dishes: Latte
🖼 Restaurant environment: Located in the Chelsea area. It looks like it came from Denmark. There are some paintings of Denmark and Copenhagen in the store. It looks like there is not much space outside, and because the epidemic has just passed, although the store can sit down, most of the area is still empty.
💰 Per capita consumption: 3 pounds
🍜 Total restaurant score: five stars
London's super delicious cafe, it is more convenient to take out coffee, the latte I chose is quite satisfactory, and the design of the take-out cup is also very cute!
