Reviews of High Ground
I. J.Good coffee from, nice ambience and the coffee/wine/cake combo is quite endearing. Pace is just a little laid-back and disengaged, and it suffers somewhat by comparison with its neighbour. The ‘no laptops’ policy is quite refreshing, even if it’s not contextualised. The layout would soon be cluttered with three homeworkers on a video call, so full marks for making this a more contained experience. Just misses out on that destination/hideaway feel, but could grow into it.
J. F.High Ground is the perfect place to unwind with a cup of coffee and a glass of wine. The washroom is clean and well-stocked, and you can spend a long time locked away without feeling rushed. My friend spent what felt like an eternity in there.
We loved chatting with the staff and people watching. Even the fire department from a few doors down showed up! The staff are wonderful – They easily handled multiple orders, making coffee, and dealing with multiple deliveries all with a smile on their faces.
Plus, their selection of easter cakes was incredible – must have been well over 60 cakes. The coffee is delicious, and the wine selection is truly impressive. Plus, the prices are very reasonable.
Whether you're looking for a place to catch up with friends or just to relax and lock yourself away, High Ground is the perfect spot.

A. S.Excellent coffee shop run by the dedicated and serious coffee - and wine - lovers Simon and Oksana Peace, who own the superb Electric Coffee Co. in Ealing (my local). Bold to set up during this pestilence and the quality of the coffee, the service, and the ambience invite support. Love it.
J. R.Decent batch filter and a nice selection of pastries, cookies, etc. Open nice and early, light and airy but with a comforting glow, just what you need with your morning coffee :) If evening's your thing then they have wine too. Perfect for Upper St.
O. L. M.A nice new coffee and wine place on Upper street, I love that they open early (7am at least). Pleasant service and very good coffee, with some pastries too. There will be a seating area downstairs, and there are a few seats by the window already.

A. C.Love this place. The owner always gives me a friendly greeting of ‘Hello there!’ and he can actually push the coffee towards me. Everyone I know said it was the best coffee this side of Coruscant, and I agree. I didn’t want to leave, as it was so good. It was so uncivilised of me to do so. I’ll be back!
