Very beautiful and exciting bar on Deptford high street one of the best in all South London. The staff are friendly and accommodating especially Georgia who did everything possible to make me and my friends feel welcome and comfortable during my first visit here. We didn't eat but we had a couple of drinks listening to the music which is always amazing ( when Amy Winehouse came on I literally cried 😭) This place is a VIBE. The decor is beautiful and very sheek and the garden.

Staff was prompt and friendly, got service right away. Coffee wasn't something special. The food wasn't either. The bread was very very difficult to eat, i got a jaw issue and it actually hurt eating it. The plates were too small for the amount of food served. I don't know maybe this place is not for me. But i think the quality of food wasn't great. I looked up next to the decorations and there was a spider just chilling there, and another small bug, didnt give the impression it was clean. Lovely decoration, apart from the fact that there's very bad ventilation, smells of food and is smokey. Wouldn't go there again.

Very colourful cute little bar/café. Great breakfast menu. Perfect for a late Sunday brunch. Friendly staff. They have a little back garden which is nice as well. There's live jazz and jam every 2nd Thursday of the month. Haven't been to one but looks good as well. Overall friendly atmosphere.

Friendly, delicious, and very affordable. Great brunch and lunch menu, with veg and vegan options. Even the salad option is great (today was fennel, rocket, and feta) with belly filling portions. Importantly, full bar with 2 draught beers and lots of other yummy cocktails. On top of all this, the staff are friendly and add to the overall happy vibe here. I will return!

Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious with lovely flavours. The eggs were perfectly made and the sourdough bread was so good! I visited here with my wife for our anniversary and we loved it. The space is atmospheric, my wife loved all the ornaments and decorations, and the food (tacos) were delicious. We had cocktails and the staff were friendly and attentive. I found the pricing very reasonable and will definitely be back in the daytime to try out the breakfast menu and coffee.

I've started going to Isla Ray on my lunch breaks and the lunchtime salads they do are great! It's always an interesting mix of ingredients which all taste amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Friendly staff and good value, tasty tacos (which are the only thing on the dinner menu). It's perfect for a chilled out, light dinner with cocktails. The area out the back looked nice, with lots of fairy lights. I liked the latin music and holiday vibes. I gave 4 stars rather than 5 as I wasn't 'blown away' but it's definitely good and we'll be coming back again I'm sure.

Good tacos. Would have got a 5 if the tortillas were fresh and there wasn’t a distinct lack of salsas. Regardless, we still ate 12 of them. Margaritas were good too. Deptford has a bit of Hackney vibe about it these days. All round strong evening.

I applaud whoever designed this cafe/bar - it is absolutely beautiful. Lots of plants, ambient lighting, nice decor, and it's really relaxing. I love the music they play, really helped me focus on reading and writing. The workers there are cool and professional. The food I had was good. There's a nice outdoor area out the back. Happy vibes. Highly recommend a visit.

Came here for a video shoot. Staff were super friendly and owner was hospitable. The decor is well done in a fashion that matches the name (Cool & Laid back) yet modern and clean. There is a outside space out back keep in mind there are a few stairs to go down, something to be aware of for disability users and buggy pushers, however there is more than enough space to chill inside comfortably. The food was hearty and warm, I managed to make a customized brekky, eggs, salmon etc. A definite gem of the community. Thanks Guys!!

Decor is not to my liking - I think they're trying to be hipster with their very, very odd pieces of furniture dotted everywhere. It looks like they literally went to a car boot sale and bought everything. As an oriental, it slightly annoyed me they had put Asian decorations up incorrectly or with bad feng-shui and not understanding the meaning behind them. Prices were a bit more expensive than expected, but I guess they could charge a hipster premium. Had breakfast there - food was okay.

Stunning decor. Isla Ray certainly is very beautiful . The coffee was very good. Lunch was tasty but unfortunately the portions were minute and I mean teeny weeny minute . Four of us and we were all disappointed. Plus the sweet potato, feta and pomegranate salad was missing the pomegranate which was literally a third of the ingredients. Would go back for the coffee and atmosphere but not to eat.

Relaxing place, nice staff, interesting but good taste of music at the time I was there, once you get past the "too cool for school" eclectic furnishings. Typical hip prices for food and drinks when compare to the surrounding traditional cafes nearby...but with a "cycling" cafe and gastro pub nearby it adds to and compliments, rather than dominate the mix of shops, thus catering to all tastes in the area, encouraging both new and as well as regular customers, to venture in their cafe / bar....

I won't ever visit Deptford again without buying something to eat from Isla Ray. The food is unbelievably tasty and well presented. The music is excellent and the cafe is really cool, I can't rate this place highly enough! Rachael and Fred are also really friendly and hospitable. 10/10

Tropical decor, delicious food, dangerously good (and affordable) cocktails and super friendly staff. The food (veg mezze) was varied and flavoursome, the prices were very reasonable, and we liked the atmosphere (we sat out the back with the bamboo). The staff were nice, too, and keen to know what we thought of our food. Definitely going back for cool drinks next time! There was one downside, the door to the toilet, off the narrow hallway to the outside eating area, was left open.

Went for breakfast on a Saturday and loved both the food and the coffee. I had the eggs with fish and my girlfriend had the veggie breakfast. Pretty much what you would expect to pay for a nice vibe. Would really like to come back at night and see what it's like.

This is my favourite new spot in London. When I first walked into Isla Ray, I was blown away with the number of plants, mirrors and interesting trinkets. It's a beautiful environment to have a drink, coffee, lunch, date or even just chill and sit with your laptop in. There is an outdoor area with a good amount of seating if you fancy being outside in this current heat. Cocktails were delicious, the staff were so friendly too. Spots like this in London are rare, definitely worth checking out!!!!

As a local I’m always on the hunt for new places. I recently stumbled upon Isla Ray out of the blue with my friend and we quickly fell in love. It has a cozy atmosphere and the coffee is one of the best in the area. After talking to the staff for quite some time, I was delighted to find out the coffee is even locally sourced . The café seems to have a lot of offer both in the day and in the evenings with a lot of local activities.

What a gem that’s opened up recently on my own street! Surprisingly very big space with an adorable little back courtyard. Colourful in places (but tasteful), mood lighting from the many lamps dotted around the seating areas, artworks and other ‘things’ to turn your eye. Me and my boyfriend popped by on Thursday evening and they had 30% off for the opening week. It was fairly busy at the front of the bar. The Barman was very attentive to get to us through the customers waiting on cocktails. We had the new vodka based cocktail (which yet to be named...) and Whiskey sour first - which he made with fresh egg whites! He even asked if I was OK after cracking the eggs to which I was only surprised that fresh whites are still used in cocktails! Impressive. They were made to perfection. We then had a couple of gin fizz’s which was one of the most tastefully refreshing drinks I’ve sipped in a long time. Not much on offer in terms of draught beer, but. At least it’s from our local brewery! Seeing as this hang out is dangerously close to us we’re looking forward to what’s coming from Isla Ray in the near future. Great for the area and welcome to Deptford :)

This hipster, cool place hits all the boxes for me: dog-friendly, great-tasting and well-priced food and drinks and music that is not too loud at night you can’t have a conversation. My husband and I stopped here last night and got settled on the comfy couch with our chi. I ordered the green refresher to start (lime, honey and soda water) and he an Aperol Spritz. I got the Chardonnay then and was pleasantly surprised how dry and smooth it was. Our food arrived shortly: my butternut squash and feta flatbread and his sweet peppers and mozzarella on sourdough. I was surprised how my dish was presented as I expected one large piece of flatbread with feta and squash atop. Instead the squash and flatbread are cut into chunks presented on the wooden serving plate with the feta serving as a dipping sauce. It’s an easily shareable portion size so I’m kinda of a piggy in eating nearly all of it. But the squash chunks were roasted perfectly. It was delicious as was the creamy feta. My husband said his dish was good as well but mine was definitely the star. The only downer was the brownie: it looks great and fudgy but is nothing special. The place has eclectic furnishings, with lots of cool events happening frequently. Definitely a worthwhile addition to SE!
