A nice place to stop and chill inside the IWM. When you need to take a rest from all the gallery browsing. Good food and they sell alcohol as well as coffee and soft drinks. Free wifi and access to the park when the weather is good. Reopening 01.08.2020. This is just a small update. The museum is now open, but because of the virus I'm afraid food is off the menu.

Not great for a museum cafe. There is very limited menu for hot food and it’s quite pricey for the quality. The pizza was hard and was very thin. It was more like a tomato sauce pizza than a a cheese pizza as there was one small circle of cheese on each slice. I’m not sure how good the salads as we didn’t have one so they might have been nice. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The museum is very good though.

The cafe is located on the lower ground to the right from the main entrance. The fare is limited but we'll cooked and presented by a helpful and friendly staff. I had a chicken burger and chips for £10.50, very slightly dry but nicely broiled.

The queue of self-catering recalled the time in the militry I think😂and the size of dish is very big. The coffee and food is normal but it is still a good place to enjoy more time beside the war.😉

Great exhibition on Britain's involvement in the First World War and the life and experiences of soldiers in that conflict. Assorted exhibits other conflicts since then with impressive artefacts and concise write-ups on them. Top floor has an exhibit dedicated to the recipients of the Victorian Cross for gallantry. My favourite museum in London so far. The Great War main exhibit is well curated and has a logical linear flow. Newly refurbished and reopened in 2014.

Expensive (£2.80) hot choc from a vat but tasty (even if in a paper cup). Was really tempted by the lemon meringue cup cake as it looked lovely but at £4 I passed - £1 cheaper and they would have been flying off the shelves.

Painfully slow service, when hot food is available you have to queue behind everyone buying food even if you just want a coffee. Having said that food is good and reasonable value, cakes are outrageously priced!

Considering how good the actual museum is, the cafe is disappointing. A scone which was advertised as being 'great with cream and jam' came without cream or jam, just a single piece of butter. Apparently the cream and jam cost extra but no info was given as to how much extra this was, nor a chance to buy any was offered. The scone was dry and tasteless. The coffee was watery. Though to be fair, my parents both enjoyed their cakes so I may have just chosen badly

(Translated) There is tea from large porcelain mugs. There are enough seats and it is cleared quickly so that everything looks clean. Quite expensive, but the second hot drink and pastries are free. Since the museum is free you can of course go out to eat around the corner. (Original) Tee gibt es aus großen Porzellanbechern. Es gibt ausreichend Sitzplätze und es wird zügig abgeräumt, so dass alles sauber aussieht. Recht teuer, aber das zweite Heißgetränk gibt es zusammen mit Gebäck gratis. Da das Museum gratis ist kann man natürlich auch um die Ecke essen gehen.
