Reviews of Kanella & Co.
J. S.
Great local cafe with a nice atmosphere with delicious pastries and food.
T.
I wish I knew what cheese was used but regardless, this is, without a doubt, the best cheese and tomato toastie I’ve had.
L. B.
I had a delicious lunch at Kanella & Co of filot pastry spinach and cheese with a side salad. I was disappointed in the size of the chai late, it came in a tiny glass tumbler thing and cost £3.30. Still trying to find a decent chai late in a massive mug in Dulwich.
J. T.
If you are Greek you be disappointed! Its one typical British coffee shop not have fredo cappuccino ,fredo espresso its shame you call greek coffe shop and you not have the most popular Greeks coffes ....
F. J. B.
Cakes to die for and the filter coffee is excellent. Friendly staff too.
D. P.
Great local coffee, always pleasant environment and staff. Also a perfect escape for working out of the house during the week, laptop friendly Mon-Friday!
W.
Relaxing place with a great Customer’s service .
Staff very friendly and very calm ambiance .... The ham and Cheese and the Bougatsa are just perfect . Well done 👍🏼
S. M.
Awesome Sunday breakfast treats would recommend walking in the snow to purchase
M. M.
Great cafe, vegan&gluten free cakes. You can always find a sit there.
A.
Fantastic place, friendly staff, amazing coffee, best cake in Dulwich, really nice atmosphere to chill and have a coffee!
R. B.
Lovely cafe and delicious cake (I had rose, raspberry and pistachio) but could of done with an extra shot of espresso in my iced latte. Great experience though.
C. S.
Cool cafe with crazily tasty filter coffee (without milk for maximum flavour savour!). Crumble also delicious. Wish I lived nearer to it!
E.
Good coffee, expensive for what it is but lovely atmosphere and love the staff and service
l. s.
Great coffee, very friendly staff, classic pastries and some Greek influenced dishes and snacks which sets it apart from your average neighbourhood coffee shop. Would come back any time.
A. G. Y.
Great atmosphere, great staff and great cakes 😀
E. Ö.
I think £3.10 is a reasonable prices to pay for an iced latte considering the size.
The only issue I had was that I would've wished for more espresso and less ice, other than that, nice staff, fast service 👍
M. S.
Delicious cake and coffee. Ambient atmosphere
B. M.
It's a pretty cozy and welcoming place. Been grabbing my morning coffee there for over a year now, it's the best one in the area. The staff members are usually friendly and I always joke around with the head barista / discuss our workout routines (the guy is BIG), while I wait for my order. The pastries are on point, everything is reasonably priced and they have a wide range of products. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
S. S.
Great coffee, friendly staff
Y.
Nice and relaxed coffee place. Water bottle on every table. The carrot cake was delicious. There were other delicious looking cakes and it was hard to pick. Disappointed with the coffee though, a mocha for £3 came in the tiniest of mugs with no saucer or cup handle and was quite bitter.
M. S.
Perhaps the best coffee I've ever had.
E.
Fabulous coffee & the best cream slice you will ever eat! Been coming here for a while & returned today as lockdown restrictions eased. Pleased to see a steady stream of customers & a couple of tables outside for people to stop and devour their buys. Tried the bougatsa (Greek custard pastry) today & this was also delicious.

Dulwich is full of cafes etc but none like this.
Family run, great coffee, I can take the dog in with me and the food is delicious. The people have really become a big part of the local community and this is evident at the amazing supper clubs they have put on when using produce from other local businesses.
People complaining about not being able to have a laptop on the weekend - really? That's how you rate a coffee shop?
Do me a favour - Get out more, spend time with friends and family and enjoy life :-)
S. D.
Best coffee on Lordship Lane, open and bright space with incredibly friendly staff. The food is also fantastic and I highly recommend one of their toasties! Great spot for families to sit down or a quick bite.
A. M.
The good: Convenient and very close to my house, nice space and interior. The cakes decent and coffee fine (been lovely once and bitter then 2nd).
The bad: Refuse to do drip (V60) on weekends!? Take it off your menu then. Place like Monmouth coffee manages to do this in central London. Signs saying "No Laptops" on the table during the weekend - too many rules for a cafe IMO although I understand you don't people hanging out in there without ordering.
J. G.
Fantastic Greek cafe that’s been in Dulwich for two years. Food – such as salads and toastier are all delicious, and their cakes are wonderful.
Very friendly service, and it feels fresh and open on a sunny day with the big open windows and tiny outdoor space at the back.
One of my favourite cafes in Lordship Lane!
M. L.
Love the ambience. Takes you away to Greece.
D. F.
Lovely local business serving easily the best coffee in SE22 and there isn’t a beanie wearing hipster taking 20 minutes to make it (see Brick House Bakery) to be seen. Always a warm welcome, very hospitable as you’d expect from a Cypriot business owner. Keep up the good work and get milkshakes and cookies on the menu please.
R. K.
Great coffee, food and staff. Best coffee in East Dulwich in my opinion. The food is lovely and fresh, I can recommend the home made sausage rolls! Alex and the rest of the team are always friendly, willing to chat and like to get to know their regulars. PS For anyone of Cypriot decent this place is a must, took a mate and his eyes lit up at the food he hadn’t seen since he was a kid.
J.
Just love this place. Superb service too. Very clean. Calm. Perfect!
A. U.
Love the coffee from this tiny little restaurant. With its ear wood floors a d large dining table. Great selection of Greek influenced food I'm a fan as the coffee I felt is the best in London
M. M.
Kamella is a fab little coffee shop in East Dulwich. Great staff, savoury and sweet light bites are fresh and tasty. Do you self favour and try one of their sausage rolls !!
G. P.
The only place to have good coffee in East Dulwich and probably in my top 5 in London. So lucky to have little gem in the area!! Staff are always fantastic, quick and very Friendly. Could not recommend this place more. Get here if you take your coffee seriously and try the Chicken flatbread with taziki!!
P. M.
Nice new cafe for east Dulwich. Coffee isn't too bad but I did get a bitter one. Nice environment. They don't do cooked food but have a good selection of fresh pastries that they can heat up for you.
J. L.
Best coffee in ED here without any silly prices. They just know how it’s done.
M. C.
Bright and spacious cafe with family charm. Excellent take on the cafe "staples" but the Mediterranean accents and the greek specialties are what really make this place stand out. The mix of options has allowed us to explore their specialties bit by bit and has certainly added some new favourites to my Brunchtime repertoire. Although perhaps not traditionally greek, the pistachio croissant is to die for - my favourite of any pastry anywhere. Their coffees are excellent. My wife tells me that their Tumeric latte is "a hug in a mug" and the best in London.
D. W.
I love this place. Greek-infused, unpretentious, great ambience, fantastic food, friendly staff, and surprisingly, especially for East Dulwich, thoroughly affordable.
The place is at its best around lunchtime. Lovely fresh salads in generous helpings, delicious savoury pastries and muffins, a wide selection of pies/frittatas and other Greek style lunch items.
The coffee is excellent, including a cold press and vegan-friendly milks, and the sweets are excellent without being too heavy and sticky.
They also have a nice selection of olives and oil to take away with you and fast wi-fi. Can't recommend enough.
D. S.
Delicious, healthy food. Great coffee and great service 👌
R. D.
Quite a nice independent cafe in East Dulwich's Lordship Lane. Good food, good coffee. Plenty of space.
The owners are descendants of Andreas, whose eponymous grocery was famous through the area for decades.
D. Q.
Nice food (sausage roll and empanada), good tea and coffee. Good atmosphere, with the music at the right volume (buzzy but not noisy). The decor is pretty without being twee.
N. F.
My wife and I have been going to Kinella since the doors opened early last year. Alex and the team run an extremely friendly coffee focussed space, and also make extremely tasty modern Greek food. Highly recommended for those wanting a relaxing no fuss experience
J. C.
Great place to sit and chat and work as necessary. Good coffee, food and service.
D. S.
Really nice place. The toasties are a must and the sausage rolls superb. I don't drink coffee but lovely breakfast tea.
B.
My favourite place to go for a coffee in East Dulwich. Always the very best and welcoming service. Never ever disappointed
A. W.
The Wife and i love this place
Great coffee
Great tasting food
Great energy
The only issue i have is that if you don't go very often and hope to get the same snack as the time before it will come down to luck if that snack is currently available as the cakes are always fresh and rotated
K. C.
The coffee tastes delicious. Not many places have good coffees as this place. Brownie is very nice as well specially having it with a flat white
a. c.

The food here is lovely, get there about 11am on a Saturday and try the freshly cooked moussaka. The coffee is some of the best in London. A regular haunt of mine
R. M.
Fantastic food (the moussaka was as good as I've had in Greece), nice surroundings, and relatively reasonable prices for East Dulwich. Had a lovely lunch and would totally recommend.
R. M.
