Reviews of Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium

What a place! The staff are incredible, they cannot do enough for you and are so lovely and knowledgeable about the cats. The cats themselves seem so happy and have everything they could possibly need. The food and drinks are DELICIOUS, we had the high tea and couldn't believe how tasty everything was. We will 100% be coming back and will recommend Lady Dinah's to all cat lovers!

Visited for the first time yesterday and had such an amazing time! I'm a very shy person and had come on my own, so I was a little apprehensive at first. My nerves were eased as I entered the cafe as all staff were so friendly and approachable, they all made me feel so comfortable. The cats were all lovely! So soft and playful. I spent most of my time there just watching them play by themselves as just being surrounded by them made me so happy! Food was easy to order and make changes to; as a picky eater, this was a relief to see! All adaptations to my hot chocolate and ham and cheese panini were done perfectly and cake was lovely too.
Will definitely be back very soon!

Well it’s interesting for sure. We called without booking and were accommodated. Sadly we were sat upstairs and the majority of the cats hang out in the den like space downstairs so we had to go down to visit them.
The food and drinks were fine. I had a scone and it was warm and fresh with some clotted cream and jam.
My kids absolutely loved it. I’m sure we’ll go back when we’re next in London.

Everything was excellent. The cats are obviously looked after well and loved very much, the food was delicious. Vegan option for high tea was excellent and the best part, staff was so professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I will be coming back over and over. Thank you everyone.

It was a wonderful experience 😍
Had the greatest pleasure to play with Rosalind, Layla and Zora ❤️ this place melts your heart!! 🥰 It was lovely with all the cats playing and sleeping while you enjoy your tea.The staff are great and also very passionate! U can definitely tell how these cats are well taken care of 😍❤️

I had such a wonderful time here for afternoon tea. The staff were all so friendly and clearly loved their jobs. They were always there to give information about the cats and provide you with anything you needed. The food was delicious too - such nice cakes and sandwiches. You get two drinks with your afternoon tea - one when you arrive and a second drink whenever you like.
The cats were all so kind and lovely. They had plenty of space to roam around and lots of things to play with.
The location of the place is ideal as it is right next to a bus stop.
I cannot wait to come back here and visit again. What an amazing experience this was!

Absolutely lovely experience! The decorations are gorgeous like Alice in wonderland with very cute areas to play with the cats. Nice to see different cats with their own personalities and moods, all friendly and nice to pet and play with. You only have 1.5 h to enjoy the experience. The high tea includes quiche, sandwiches, scones and delicious small pastries. You can also choose 2delicious coffees and teas.

Had a lovely time! The kittens were so sweet and playful. So funny watching them bat the toys around! They're clearly well taken care of and the staff seem to love spending time with them (I mean, who wouldn't?!). The cocktails were great too!

As a cat lover this place was absolutely amazing. Having afternoon tea with around 20 cats who are in various stages of waking up, playing, eating, snuggling and napping is great.
An amazing de-stresser to be surrounded by very chill and friendly cats.
Food was absolutely wonderful as well, we had the 3 tier afternoon tea, which has 2 sandwiches cut in half, 8 small cakes (2 of each flavour, the red velvet one was to die for) and 2 massive scones with cream and jam. Doesn't sound like much but it filled us up. Very decent value for money, amazing service and adorable cats.
Will be coming back.

Absolutely loved the place.
Great lemon cake and coffee, yes... but the main attraction wasn't a disappointment! All the kitties were well disciplined, you can see that they are taking really really good care of them and they are spoiled not only by the staff working there but also by the visitors/customers!
10/10 place for cat lovers! An absolute beautiful experience!
A. R.
Soup was delicious, lovely staff and the most beautiful cats. Had a really nice experience, who needs anti-depressants when you have Cats! Very playful kittens and cheeky cats. I had a really good time. Although its expensive it was well worth the chillout time.

It is always a pleasure to visit Lady Dinah's. My partner and I have been visiting from the start in 2014. Whilst the cats may change, the atmosphere and friendlyness of the staff has not changed. My partner and I love visiting and meeting the furry residents for tea and a bite to eat. Mind you, eat the food before a ball of fur beats you to it. Thank you for another wonderful visit ❤️
A. F.
A dream - not only for cats, without to disclose to much, the basement is a world of cats and sweet / cosy decorated. A dedicated team support and protect the cats. The cats are absolute lovely and good to play and know, they are the stars and the ruler. We had an afternoon team and the scones are marvelous and the sweets are enjoyable. All over all, we will be back, whenever we stay in London.
I. G.
I absolutely loved it there, they let you play with the cats and take pictures of them as well! The food is wonderful! The staff are really nice! 15/10! It was the highlight of my year :D here are some pictures of the cats :)
L. T. M.
What a lovely place to come and be surrounded by cats while you have tea or lunch! When I came, all the cats were named after LOTR characters (Pippin, Frodo, etc.) and they were all so sweet. You can tell they are very well looked after too.
S. M. K.
Though it’s been years since I’ve been here (I went back when I was studying abroad in England, in 2015), I have such warm and fond memories of this place! The incredible, friendly staff made me feel right at home and even let me meet the adorable kittens that they were socializing! At the time, I had a kitty at home that I missed terribly, and coming here made me feel like I was back home in California again. Thank you to the lovely people who work here! You all gave me such an amazing experience, and I always will remember your kindness and warmth :)

Lovely, healthy cats! The decor is really whimsical, Alice in wonderland inspired. Little Frodo in the pictures was adorable and friendly, we hope he goes to a good home one day!!
G. S.
Went today with my partner and had a wonderful time. All the cats look very well cared for and the members of staff are incredibly attentive. If you're an animal lover you will have a great time but they are not performing monkeys so don't expect them to be receptive all the time. :)
M. M.
I booked this for my 12 year old son, who is crazy about cats and he thoroughly enjoyed it. You're greeted by the lovely staff at the door and then they lead you downstairs to the seating area, in which you are surrounded by an array of kittens and cats. They are clearly well looked after and content, appearing largely unbothered by the customers presence! You have an opportunity to play with them (there are toys available) but must be mindful of the rules whilst there (these will be explained by staff). The food is reasonably priced and a particular favorite is the mocktails, which are ever so fresh and more ish.
A great experience! I recommend you bring a camera to catch the kittys in action! Obviously, no flash though as this can spook them.
Advice: use local bus/train or depending on the distance, taxi as parking is tricky!
S. W.
Lovely place, lovely atmosphere and great to spend some time with their new clowder.
Food and drinks were great, always appreciate them being able to cater for dietary needs.
I have been to several cat cafes over the country and I still believe this is the best cat cafe in the UK.
They clearly care about their cats and the environment is safe and friendly. Looking forward to my next visit.
A. C.
cats are adorable and food was delicious! staff are very nice and despite being booked up it didn’t feel too crowded or anything. thank you :)

Had a really good experience at Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium. It has a lovely calming atmosphere with all the cats playing and sleeping ,while you have some great food. The staff are great and accommodating, and also very passionate about the cats which is great.

This is a lovely venue for a treat, like a birthday party - any cat lover would have a great time here! Definitely book to sit in the basement, where you will be emersed in the 'Alice in Wonderland' the theme. Although on the pricier side, just the cheeseplate was plenty of food for a teatime visit.
There is also a real sense of care throughout. The cats are well looked after and the hygiene standards are high. Many of the cats are available for adoption and the cafe acts as a space to socialise and advertise them. The team running the cafe always include an apprentice, whom they take on to train in animal welfare. When I ordered the 'birthday package', they included a card for my girlfriend in which each staff member had hand-written a note.
Between these little touches and the overall Wonderland theme (as well as some very cute kittens), I'd definitely recommend!
P.
Incredible cat cafe which truly cares for their animals as well as guests. The downstairs area always reminds me of Alice in Wonderland as it’s so beautifully decorated with a big tree right in the middle of the room. There are toys everywhere that you can use to play with the cats. The staff are extremely kind and happy to talk to you about their kitties if you ask them. The drinks and food are lovely too! Definitely suggest booking for right when it opens as the cats will be the most excited for attention then. Always love visiting.
L. S.
I have been here twice. Everything is lovely. I wish I could have a cat. But as a student who keeps moving, it's irresponsible to have a cat. This cat cafe is really a nice place to go. Food is nice too.
Y. L.
We went there just for the cats. They had 20 cats. Cats where absolutely loveable, sooooo cute, super playful and adorable.
The staff was also extremely friendly with crazy knowledge about the kittens and cats. They explained who to play with and how to play with them.
The place was beautiful designed for cats, so many small places to hide and places to jump on, bridges and more. Was definitely enjoyable playing hide and seek with the cats.
Would definitely go again to get my kitten and cat fix!
S. D.
Def a place I will be visiting again soon. From the friendly staff and the delicious vegan panini with the vegan ricotta (wow) to the most playful of cats. They were so cute. I left the restaurant feeling so happy. Def a mood booster getting to play with the little kitties. Highly recommend.
K. W.
Wonderful place. Had such a lovely time and so many happy and gorgeous cats to play with.
A. F.
What a smashing setup. Lovely Sunday tea with very friendly human staff and 20 something cats that definitely know they are the star of the show. Top Tip: if you leave your table to play with cats (and that is encouraged) be sure you have finished whatever you were eating on your plate as otherwise you may inadvertently be sharing....
N. Y.
The cats are lovely to play with and be around, each with their own personality some more energetic and social than others but all are super adorable. The decor is fun and interesting to see the cats engage in, totally with the 1hr 30mins playing with with. Staff were friendly too😸
S. P.
Had a great time here today, my heart was absolutely stolen by the adorable kitten who fell asleep in my lap. The food was also really great :)
S. P.
We were given a voucher for afternoon tea with the cats. They were not bothered by the hoomans in their home. The cats are very well looked after and have lots of boxes and tunnels to sleep or play in. Our afternoon tea was delicious, I would recommend Lady Dinahs to anyone, it was an enjoyable 90 minutes.
O. E.
My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's day and I loved it so much!! The food and drink was amazing and the cats were all so well natured and sweet. Definitely recommend.
D. D.
I had a lovely experience at Lady Dinah's; I chose the High Tea Omnivore option which contained hot & cold savoury choices plus 2 soft drinks. The cats were gorgeous and all had different characters; Baz (the young naughty one), Teddy (the older cooler cat who tried to steal my cupcake right in front of me) and Lizzie (the Cat Wheel Queen). If you love cats, this is the place to be...
B. D.
Loved it here, quite expensive to get in £15 per person but it was worth it, the cats were great and seemed happy and I loved the cake menu - especially as I am vegan - so much choice. The staff were super friendly and told us all about the cats. The cake and coffee once inside weren't expensive in my opinion. Definitely worth a visit if you like cats.
C.
My boyfriend and I came here today for afternoon tea and it was so so nice! Service was quick abs attentive, staff were lovely and the food was brilliant. We had Brendan as our server & they were amazing :) thank you so much we will 100% be returning!
S.
So many cute cats & kittens to play with! Staff are so lovely and welcoming.

This is what all businesses should be aspiring too.. Lady Dinah's cat emporium is a cafe / sanctuary /intermediary for cats. They help cats find homes whilst offering a well integrated space for cats to play, hide and sleep in; I wish my living room was like their space.. So creatively articulated with cats in mind.. The staff kept on top of cleanliness, as the kitties will try and sneak a bit of your High tea.. Which we had and was vegan.. What's not to love.
E. H.
Went for high tea, food is delicious with a huge variety for what is provided and you can let them know on the booking if you require special dietary requirements. The seating is a 1 hour 30 minute slot which is plenty of time and you can walk around to see the cats, not just confined to your seat. The cats are well looked after and come and go as they please on both levels of the cafe. There are many cats here all of which have beds and everything they need dotted around along with hidden hide aways if they want to he left alone. There are some rules to obey but in this type of cafe it's understandable. Overall a great experience and day out for any cat lover!
V. S.
Lovely, memorable little place. A must see for cat lovers everywhere. The staff are friendly and professional. The cats are adorable and affectionate. The food is very nice. I went here as a treat for my 23rd birthday. I will definitely be back again sometime.
Edit: Back again today over 2 years after my first visit. Same memorable, cosy experience and the cats seemed more enthusiastic than the first time I came. Zara (the cat) showed me a lot of affection. As someone who can't have cats in my house, this was a great way to be able to interact with them and get up close and personal with them. They gave us a post card for free at the end which was a really nice touch to the whole experience.
A. S.
It is £10 to reserve but you get an hour in the cafe with a hot or cold drink included. The food seems reasonably priced. All the staff in here are lovely and chatty and are all clearly passionate about cats. The cats are all so cute but it will be a hot or miss whether they will all be up and active of fast asleep. But hey, just enjoy being around cats. Great café, though personally I prefer the other one "This is a Coffee Shop (with Cats)"
A. J.
We had an excellent time ! The cats are just beautiful and it made it much more enjoyable knowing that they were rescues and they will be rehomed eventually. Its really good what this place is doing for these animals. The food was also delicious. The only things I think could be better are more savoury things on the high tea and maybe a few more cats. I'd love to visit again some time.
R. A.
A great little place to have some Tea and enjoy the cats. They have a beautiful variety of rescue cats - that warmed up to us after some time. The cheese and ham sandwhich and tomato bisque are delicious! Make sure to book ahead of time online, and arrive early.
J. T.
All the cats are fosters, the house rules put animal welfare first, and staff are knowledgable and genuinely care for the cats. The downside is the quality of the food, which could really be improved (we felt it was hospital vending machine quality food) and the temperature of the rooms, which combined with the smell of litter trays and wet cat food, can be difficult to endure. We're grateful that the place exists for the sake of the cats, but it's a bit steep given the food quality
L. O.
Had a lovely time with mum, we went for the high tea option, we are both veggies so went for the veggie option, cute little sandwiches and lovely selection of savoury and sweet treats. The cat named hot drinks menu is super cute!
The cats are very sweet ,there is a little guide telling you which cat is which and a little info on each. Staff are very lovely and happy to help with any questions, they clearly love what they do.
They have rules in place which are great, to make sure the guests have a good time but most importantly that the cats are respected in there space.
Book in early as it is very busy!

A really nice cafe in Shoreditch. The coffee, cakes and service was really good here. Staff are very friendly. The place itself is beautiful, the best place to sit is in the basement. Definitely book in advance, i went on a weekday at 14:00 and people who were walking in were turned away as they were fully booked all day. Prices are really good here. The cats were really cute and playful, there is a variety of small wheels, bridges and toys for the cats making for a really fun cafe experience.
C. H.
Fun place for high tea and to play with / be ignored by cats.
Good fun staff who seem to like what they do.
M. M.
One of the kittens decided that I was it’s favourite and was on my lap the majority of the time! Lovely experience!
c. w.
If you love cats then I highly recommend! Especially if, like me, you have work commitments that mean you can’t have your own pets and you need a fur fix. The cats are beautiful and really well cared for.
The staff are really enthusiastic and obviously love being surrounded by the cats.
We ate from the menu and had soups, toasties , coffees etc which were all delicious. It’s a fairly basic menu (which is perfect for lunch) but they cater for lots of dietary requirements which was great for us as I was with 2 vegans, one of whom is also celiac.
A lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely be back!
R. A.
Absolutely loved this place...
If you are a cat lover 😻 I highly recommend it!
Lot's of beautiful cats all over the place. Lovely surroundings, amazing staff, service was great... had a really pleasant time.
They give you 90 minute slots but the time just goes soo quickly!
Will definitely be going back and highly recommend it 👌 👍

I've been to a few cat cafes around Europe now, they're kind of a favorite pastime of mine. For awhile, a little place in Prague was my favorite, but I can confidently say now that this place is the best Cat Cafe I've been to hands down. There are a ton of cats that all seem happy, healthy, groomed, and even willing to play. The pains gone to in this Cafe to keep them that way are awesome. You must agree to the house rules before entering and wash your hands before handling the cats. The staff are so nice and love to introduce you to the kitties and tell their stories. The entire Cafe was built around their enjoyment, with enough places for them to hide away from people, nap, or play. I could go on and on about how good they are to their furry superstars. Del Boy is the handsomest and my favorite.
Anyway, the food is pretty good also. Afternoon tea is $30 pp, but it's a lot of good quality food, and 2 drinks pp. It's a high price, but think about how much food for all those cats costs. You get 1.5 hours with a booking, and it just flies by.
Presentation/design of everything, and the design of their little cat introduction book, is excellent. Even the art on the signboard outside is pretty. Well done to whoever did that. Oh, and the bathroom is really nice.
The only thing I can think to complain of is that the entryway into the cafe, where you check in, is painfully cramped. It's very hard to make room for people leaving the cafe while you're waiting to get in. And that's no fault of the cafe, it's just how their building is.
Tldr: it's the purrfect cafe
J. O.
Cats!!!! Say no more. Wonderful little cafe with lots of cats! Few rules in place to the welfare of the cats, which is good.
V. P.
The staff were very friendly and happy to talk about the cats, and the coffee and food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere of the cafe was fab, such a lovely environment for the cats with lots of hidey holes and walkways. There was no "cat smell"!
I visited on a fairly warm day, and understandably most of the cats weren't really interested in interacting, and those that were were a little "oversubscribed" by other guests. I was a little disappointed not to get more interaction with the cats but I'm not rating the cafe based on that, because you can't force them to play--and I wouldn't want to go somewhere that did. It's the chance you take when playing with real live animals.
M. A.
Great place for cat lovers. The cats are very well looked after and you can have a nice time watching or interacting with them. The staff is really friendly. The food and drinks are very good as well. The environment is cozy and creative.
A. M.
LOVED this place! The interior decoration is gorgeous and the cats are adorable and friendly. Such a cozy atmosphere and the welcoming, nice staff made it even better.
For the people who claim that the rules are too strict; they're not. It makes perfect sense and these rules make sure the cats have a happy, healthy life. I highly recommend this place 😸💌
R. L. C. P.
Nice place, lovely cats, a lot of rules to follow but that's understandable (not everyone gets they're living creatures and not toys).
Maybe a little on the expensive side when it comes to the 10 pounds admission fee (although a coffee drink is included).
More importantly, the staff genuinely cares about the cats and that's commendable!
I. L.
The cats are the stars of the show of course.
As a busy Londoner not able to keep a pet, it’s nice to be able to get a little creature contact.
The kitties have places to lounge about, and toys to play and even some little nooks here and there to hide.
You’ll likely experience a moment, when you wonder if you’re a bit of a sad cat lady, but remember, it’s good for your soul and nobody’s judging. We’re all cat lovers here🐱💜
V. M.
I visited this lovely café on Monday for afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The afternoon tea was delicious generous and accommodated our dietary needs beautifully. The space was imaginatively designed for the cats entertainment and comfort. Staff were super friendly and provided lots of information about their little pals. The most impressive thing was how much they respected the cats space and needs with clear rules around interactions with the cats and swift reminders if people tried to bend those rules. After having been to a different cat café yesterday and having a completely different experience, I can really appreciate the efforts made by Lady Dinah's staff to ensure their cats comfort is paramount 💜
S. E. T.
A must-visit. The vegan scones are good, but the vegan hot drinks are mouth-watering and heart-warmingly good! Of course the cats are adorable and playful. The staff are pleasant and friendly. If I lived in London, I would visit again! This is a good place to visit if you'd like to enquire about adoption as well.

If you're a cat lover, or just lover of anything furry. This place is wonderful. Be warned, you may not get much eating done on account of the cuteness that surrounds you. Absolutely love the theme & how well the kitties are looked after.

Had a nice afternoon tea with friends. Although I am not a cat person, it's great to see these cats. Very nice staff. There are 15 cats in this cafe.

We were brought in right at our reservation time. We were worried 1.5 hours would be too long. However, it was literally the perfect amount of time. We loved the option to order tea/coffee first and have it brought to us when we got our table. I had read reviews that some people wanted the staff to share more info about the cats. This was our first time and I am not sure if this was the normal amount, or it was something that they were working on, but the staff today seemed so natural when giving facts about the cats personalities and such. In addition, they shared that there were 14 cats on site.
Not one staff member seemed to be disengaged. Everyone was so pleasant and answered the questions that guests were asking. They didn't overshare or bother guests while eating/drinking. It was just right. In addition, the rules of masks and cat do's and don't were really easy to follow and clearly explained. The food was tasty and the tea/espresso was great! We had an espresso, Earl Grey tea, two sandwiches (you get to select your ingredients), and a scone and brownie. Seriously, no complaints. The other thing that I would like to mention, is that not once did we feel rushed or pressured to hurry to get out, even though we were there until closing time. The staff was seriously so kind.
None of the cats jumped on the table. One sat on one of our chairs for a while to join us. The place was clean and there wasn't cat hair anywhere that I could see. If you are worried about this, don't be
We booked the experience 3 weeks ago and when we got there, the staff sat my boyfriend and I in the corner in the basement... which was actually the best possible spot. We had a wonderful view and were cozy. We felt like we could be at peace and the cats engaged with us a lot more often than other tables. Whether the hostess purposefully did this or not, it made our experience that much better.
After being apart from my boyfriend for 6 months due to COVID travel restrictions, this reservation really made a memory for us both. Thank you.

Superb! The High Tea was a real delight! Served on ornate bone china cups & saucers, Many choices for tea, I chose English Breakfast leaf tea with a choice of different milks, my friend had the vegan option for hers, we had finger sandwiches, savoury pastries, scones.. which we chose to be warmed, jam clotted cream.. a vegan option for cream also.. cakes too.. so delicious, we also had prosecco. Never expected to be full but we were! It was a while before we started eating as we were enthralled by the beautiful happy well cared for cats strolling around, playing while we could play with them and pet them...bliss. Lovely kind friendly staff too from reception to our servers & the cat carer Josh on hand to answer our questions and feed and attend to the cats. It was such a lovely experience. 10/10 Purrfect!

I HAD THE PURE PLEASURE OF SPENDING MY BIRTHDAY TREAT FROM MY DAUGHTER AT LADY DINAH'S...WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE IF YOU LOVE CATS LIKE I DO WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND, SPENDING TIME WITH ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL FUR BABIES, ACCOMPANIED BY A TASTY AFTERNOON TEA,CARN'T WAIT TO PAY ANOTHER VISIT THERE..😘

Love cats, love cake! Food was lovely, plenty of drinks. Cats were about - would have loved more cuddles! Not overcrowded which was good, but not as much interaction with cats as I would have liked. Peter was my favourite, saw Wookie briefly - wow what a big cat! Thanks for a lovely lunch :)
M. B.
Really enjoyed the experience. We went for the 2.30pm slot. The cats were mostly asleep at this time, the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. If you want to play with he cats, I recommend getting a later slot as most cats were awake by the end of our slot at 4pm.
T.
Oooh I loved it here - thirteen kitties in a cosy afternoon tea area. Almost like being at home but with fantastic service. Great High Tea menu with unlimited drinks. Teas, elderflower cordial, cappuccino with a paw in the froth. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
D. W.
So many kitties! The place is relatively small, but even so the cats are allowed to roam freely. It's clear everyone working there really loves and cares about the wellbeing of these kitties. The place is well ventilated and doesn't have a strong cat smell even though there's quite a few of them there. Worth a visit if you're a cat lover
S. W.
Really impressed by the place, friendly staff, good coffee (albeit a bit pricey) and good area for the cats.
Will definitely go again

Went today with my girlfriend for her birthday.
Fantastic service from each and every member of staff we came into contact with
Food was tasty I had the rainbow cake and my girlfriend had the scones and loved them
Cats were adorable and that’s from myself who doesn’t really like them.
I fully recommend going.

This little place is AMAZING. Perfect if you love cats. You get 90 minutes to have a nice drink and spend time with the cats. All of the cats are very friendly and some will even jump on your table to greet you! There are lots of cat toys around to play with the cats and the cat carers love what they do. Overall this place is AMAZING and I would recommend it to everyone!
M. S.
The cats are well looked after here
I like that they take in many rescues and find homes for them.
It was late in the day and as you would expect the cats were not so interested
I think they get over being touched by so many different people throughout the day.
They do have their own spaces to go and hide and there are strict rules to abide by.
Well done.
J. G.
Amazing baysts, amazing staff :-). The staff in this place love cats. We love cats. We all love cats, and those cats (the baysts) were simply beyond compare.
You NEED this place in your life. Amaze-balls. Thanks for making 90 minutes of our lives awesome.
C. G.
Fun couple of hours. You can tell the people who work there absolutely love cats. Cats are well looked after. The food and drinks are wonderful. Staff really do look after you.
_.
The cats and the venue gets 5 stars. The afternoon tea was probably the worst I have ever had. Everything was dry and boring. So skip that and just order a coffee and enjoy the cute cats.
K. B.
Was gifted this for my birthday and I took a fellow cat lovely friend and we had an absolute blast.
The staff are lovely, very knowledagalbe about their cats and how best to play with them. Also they made sure you had plenty of drink and were having fun.
The vegan food was amazing. It was so nice to be catered for and the cats are super cute and chilled.
It was a relaxing two hour experience and I will deffinately be going again.
O. A.
Cats were really cute! Staff were really friendly, although service was a tad slow. I'm going to give 5 stars anyway because of how lovely it was to hang out with the cats! 😍🐱
H. P.
An absolute delight. To have a pot of tea or cup of coffee in the company of numerous cats is my idea of bliss. Don't expect the residents to be over friendly though. Remember they don't know you.
Great place. So caring.
C. D.
We've had a virgin experience voucher and it was a surprise gift for my girlfriend. The queuing up bit was a bit disorganised but that didn't affect our experience.
Once you're in you'll see that these munchkins are living the cat's dream to rule humankind. Every human that walks in there is fit to serve the cats, they have lots of space, toys, climbing stuff, scratching stuff, stress free environment. They get lots of love and the staff adores them and they do an amazing job at juggling customer experience, both human and feline.
Food was delicious, teas were plentiful and diverse, lovely atmosphere and what's not to like. I recommend and will visit again :)
M. K.
Very nice atmosphere. One of the best places in London to enjoy the afternoon tea. The cats are rather friendly and the staff is willing to tell long stories about them and also what specific activities, locations and toys they all prefer. Be aware that most time during your afternoon tea you will spend looking around for all the cats, but nevertheless, the coffee and tea are very nice there, and so are the sandwiches and other snacks.

Soooo many cats ❤️

I have been to the cafe a few different times, one of which is for my birthday. Reservation is straight forward and the online system does allow you to amend your booking from home. The concept of the cafe is lovely and you can see the staffs being very passionate. Cafe’s location is fairly central, very close to Bricklane Market - easy to get to from Shoreditch overground or only a short walk from a few bus routes.
There is a selection for tea, cakes and munchies - decent and reasonably priced. Cats can be temperamental - sometime wanting attention, other time playing hard to get (But you get this even with your own pet). It is still fun to see them roaming their tree house, running the cat wheel and interacting with each other. There are specific house rules you need to follow and being banned from Lady Dinah’s is a thing. Cafe not suitable for young children - 12 and older recommended.

Came here today and had the most amazing time! So many beautiful, beautiful cats and amazing food and drink. I would absolutely recommend high tea to anyone going here as I really loved it. The staff were absolutely amazing, couldn't help enough and all had wonderful stories to tell about the cats. These animals are loved and adored by the staff and I cant wait to go again! My only one thing I would change is that the downstairs is very very hot, but they do have fans to keep the place cool. Thankyou so much, we'll be back!!
A. H.
Fantastic customer service whilst purchasing gift vouchers online. Thank you to Laura who was super speedy with her replies to my queries. She managed to amend my order after I opted for the wrong kind of vouchers, and had it all sorted in no time. Thanks again, I appreciate your help!
B. N.
Beautiful and well-kept cats. When we came most of them were snoozing so we didn't get much one-on-one time but that didn't matter! Amazing vibes and the sleeping kitties made it all the better. Staff were lovely too. Would definitely recommend if you have anything near a positive opinion of cats!
L. R.
Amazing cat cafe not too far from Shoreditch High Street! Lots of cats of every age, playful kittens and sleepy seniors! Need to book in advance to get a table and some days can get booked up fast, so do so at least a week beforehand.
Lots of toys to play with the cats who aren't afraid to get close, with lots of perching spots for them to sleep and peer from!
Great for everyone! Guest capacity is currently limited to encourage social distancing and there is hand sanitiser available at every table. Overall very Covid-secure!
T. K.
Lovely cat cafe with great food selection, lots of happy cats and kittens around, we went in the late afternoon and had the opportunity to feed the cats some treats.
a.
This place was wonderful! All the staff were so incredibly friendly and great to chat with. You could tell the cats were very well cared for and that the staff wanted to help you get to know them- their names, how they like to be petted etc. We had one member of staff take our group photos too and she was very helpful and friendly.
The food is a little pricey for the small portion sizes but I went during Eat Out To Help Out in August so it was perfect. Any money towards the food, you'll just think of it as helping the cats so it wouldn't be a bother anyway.
A bonus- they don't allow children under age 12 I think, so you get a very peaceful experience.

As part of celebrating my birthday we went to Lady Dinah's. The cats all looked really content and the staff were very attentive. The vegan red velvet cake was really yummy (I admit I was expecting it to be dry and grainy) and the staff wrote Happy birthday on my plate which made me smile. Overall, I can't wait to go back!

First time visiting Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium!
However not my first time visiting a cat cafe, therefore I can say with confidence, Lady Dinah's is possibly my favourite.
The beautiful cats and 7 week old kittens where friendly, and happy to play!
The staff where so easy to chat too, making the environment relaxed and friendly.
And the amazing cafe design has got to be cat heaven, with little hidey spots for the cats to chill and chill away from us humans if they need, the attention to detail was spectacular.
We also had afternoon tea which was delicious and worth the money.
Honestly I'd never leave if I was allowed!
My fiancé and I cannot wait to visit again, thank you for having us 🐾x
E. B.
The cats are exceptionally well looked after and the coffees we had were delicious. My only objection was being invited to explore over two floors and then being told we couldn't be served unless we were in the basement.
P. D.
The cafe was great and so was the food. This is the first time I have been given UNLIMITED tea for an afternoon tea. The cats are great and cuddly. The cafe is spotless and smells lovely and fresh which is a real surprise given the number of cats. The staff were amazing polite and chatty. Great experience and can't wait till I can justify going again.
A. D.
Amazing, as usual. The staff were friendly and attentive, the cats were cats and the food was tasty. As a note to wheelchair users like me, if you can transfer to a normal seat leaving the wheelchair empty, AND you're very lucky, you might just catch yourself a cat.
T. G.
I took a friend here for her birthday, it's such an amazing space, the decor downstairs is amazing and they have some super cute cats!
My favourite thing about this place is all of the cats are rescues and the staff are clearly super passionate as they seemed to know every tiny details about the cats.
M.
A lovely outing to tick off that bucket list.
The food is a bit expensive, but that's London prices for you. Plus, the cats are placid and well-loved. Not a scratch or matt of fur in sight. 😉
Really impressed with their care, and the blonde waitress who served me was happy to chat about them, which was great service. Please keep in mind that the cafe is cozy, and taller people will have to bend down going into the basement.
C. r.
Really lovely place, the cats are so cute & the afternoon tea was great. Short walk from station. Would recommend.
S. G.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Lady Dinah's on Saturday. The cats are so beautiful and obviously so well cared for. The staff are lovely and always happy to tell you about the cats and things like how they like to be stroked which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The high tea was so huge we couldn't finish it and it was all packed up into "kitty bags" for us to take home. Will definitely be going again.
K. C.
I came here after months of waiting as everything I tried to reschedule it said it was full or there was a waiting list. on arrival there were only our table and two other tables in use. Everywhere else was empty.
When we arrived we were shown to our table, by polite staff and asked which drinks we wanted as we had 2 free drinks.
Our high tea arrived almost instantly but personally I was quite shocked and underwhelmed at the platter of food considering it was £30 a head. We sat downstairs in the basement and to be honest most of the cats were sleeping or not interested in interacting with sitters, which is fine but ... there’s nothing much else to look at in that case - there were maybe 10 cats roaming between the top and bottom floor.
We felt slightly hurried as we kept being reminded how much time we have left before we need to leave which got a bit annoying.
Overall. I guess what their doing adopting cats is great but I don’t think the food served was worth £30 per person and left a little bit disappointed
K. P.
Its cool, the cats were mostly sleeping and not interested. Feels awkward when you first arrive because everyones a bit iffy on how to approach the cats. Mainly because it says leave them to sleep if they are sleeping, 90% of them were so you just ended up having tea/coffee like you would any normal coffee shop.
It was ok once is enough for me. My own cat is more playful.
I feel its more of a place for people who dont have a cat already.
B. H.
Amazing decor and does not smell of cats which made eating there fine. There is one very large cat called Wookie, who is twice the size of all the other cats. He is obviously top cat here.
A. V.
Cats are lovely, staff are awesome and really friendly. Cakes are super tasty and breakfast is served for a long time.
R. G.
Had a wonderful afternoon here. The high tea was delicious and we were so stuffed that we didn't even need to have dinner afterwards. The highlight, of course, were the numerous cats doing their cat thing around the cafe. Highly recommended especially since this place really cares for the cats that they are looking after.
R. S.
Lovely little place, nice to see all the cats. Took a little longer than we liked, I did order a drink and it didn't turn up but as it was included in what we ordered it didn't bother me.
L. E.
*EDIT* Received email explaining that these cats are newly adopted as previous cats had to be rehomed in lockdown, and still settling in and not as confident as previous cats who lived there. We have been credited for another trip so hopefully they'll be more comfortable next time we go. I appreciated the customer response was so prompt and sincere.
£15 per person (not including any drinks), we saw 3 cats in the whole place, also seemed very skittish and nervous of humans. Only cats petted were a few kittens in a cot briefly, but they were mostly sleeping. Ordered the birthday mug and cake (£12) and mug was fine but not offered any choice on cake and was given peanut butter blondie which noone liked. Food very average.
E. B.
A fantastic cat café that houses about 12 cats, we came rather late and a lot of the cats where tired, dozing around. The staff was good and friendly and there was a surprisingly good amount of food, very decent food on the high tea deal.
T. H.
Great cat cafe with really cool interior decor and super cute cats. The food was also good and I would definitely recommend :)
H. S.
We absolutely loved our visit! It was our first time and we didn't know why to expect but if you love a good cafe and cats you will love this.
The staff are SO lovely, friendly and helpful and the food is simple and delicious! The toffee cake as with others is home made and gorgeous.
It is clean and fresh and friendly and we will definitely be going back!
Thanks all involved for looking after those cats so well and making our afternoon!

Cats and afternoon tea. What more could you ask for! We left there stuffed with delicious treats and the cats were gorgeous. Staff knew the cats well and were absolutely lovely.
H. M.
Lovely experience! Very clean cafe - lovely tea and scones. Loved being able to pet the cats as they played and walked around. A very lovely vibe.
S. C.
Really nice cafe populated with the sweetest most beautiful kitties you could hope to meet! Can't wait to go back.
R. W.
Amazing staff, good food and drink and CATS! People shouldn't expect the cats to be amazingly active all the time, but if you take the time to let them come to you and get used to you, they're so awesome. Ask the staff for tips on cuddling/playing with your favourite kitty, they know them very well!
L.
I’ve wanted to visit here for a long time and took mum here for her birthday. Very pleased with my visit! Friendly welcoming staff, tasty food and drink, clear house rules and beautiful decor. I’d love to come back, I’ll probably bring my friend who is also desperate to visit! Thank you guys x
L. S.
A really nice experience with cute cats and friendly staff. Vegan scones were delicious.
T. R.
Wonderful cafe. The cats are well behaved and lots of them. There is a cat expert on hand to talk about where they all came from etc. Get an early booking to see more of them. You really need to see wookie the star of the show, he's lovely. And the food is great. I can highly recommend the lemon and pepper chicken roll.
S. E.
I had the best experience ever here. The cats were so friendly and well behaved. The staff seemed to enjoy what they were doing and were very willing to aid with any questions. The coffee was perfect. It's a very relaxing, lovely experience. I will be returning.
C. J.
Loved our time here today, Panini's are spot on, the Staff and Cat's are lovely.
Definitely would visit next time we stay in London.
S. R.
This is a cosy place to spend time with cats. The best thing about it is that the cats are treated as well as possible, unlike a lot of animal cafés where the animal welfare isn't taken seriously. As such, children aren't allowed at Lady Dinah's (a bonus in my opinion!)
The second best thing is that the food caters to vegan, gluten free and vegetarians (there are some meat options too) . Even dairy-free milks are available at no extra cost.
The food served is a light lunch, like bagels and sandwiches, cakes, or afternoon tea. There's a range of herbal and caffeine free teas & coffees and fizzy drinks. It's inexpensive and totally worth the time that you get to spend here.
You need to book beforehand as it's always busy, I would also recommend checking out their Facebook as they have tons of one off events per month which are good fun.

I know there a million things to do in London but please make this a must! Spending an hour with cats and a nice cup of tea is on my top 5 things I’ve ever done! Excellent service, food and environment. Loved it!!
L. P.
Visited for a birthday breakfast. It was super cozy, the cats were adorable, great coffee, and the staff were super friendly.
Had an absolute blast! I think my only note would be that perhaps the cafe could offer slightly nicer food options. Given the unique experience, I wouldn't mind paying slightly more to get a bit more upscale pastries and sandwiches (we had the High Tea option).
H. P. (.
They love chasing the feather toy on the top ledges. Layla is a huntress though so don't make it too easy for her
T. A.
I had a wonderful time here, and would absolutely go back. The staff was sweet and the cats were adorable

My partner and I visited the other day and loved every second of it!
The high tea we ordered was delicious, the service was brilliant, the staff were really friendly and interactive with the cats, and the cats were adorable and fun to play with before their cat naps:)
The decoration within the cafe was really cute too! The cats seemed to enjoy themselves there. Overall a really pleasant experience and worthwhile if you love cats.
C.
thoroughly enjoyed an hour or 2 here with the cats, lovely drinks and cake and cute cats what more could you want

Value for money, friendly staff and loads of cats to fuss over. Great decor. Great selection of food. Would definitely recommend.

Just fab if you love cats, tea and cake. What more could you want! The cakes are absolutely divine, the staff are wonderful and the cats are very cool and totally gorgeous! 🐯

Really enjoyed it here cats well looked after they have a variety of cats we sat in the basement which was the best place had some cats come up to us, food and drink reasonably priced there was a lady talking to us about the cats answering any questions we had, toys were on offer to play with the cats will defo be coming back here again.
C.
Brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and she loved it! The food was great, however I would recommend coming a bit later on in the evening as the cats will most likely be more playful, but you’ll find that it might just be a bit busier as well!
A. C.
Lovely cats and friendly staff. A huge effort has been made with the quirky interior design. I'll be going again!

My wife and I got gifted high tea for our anniversary at this most unique establishment. Being animal lovers, we were a bit concerned in the beginning about the well-being of the cats in such a setting, however, all our concerns were alleviated as soon as we entered the emporium.
FOR ANYONE HAVING THE SAME CONCERNS AS US, DO NOT WORRY, THE CATS ARE VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER AND ARE IN A SAFE AND CARING HOME.
The house rules are simple and designed to let the cats be cats, without undue interruptions from their human admirers.
If I could rate the staff a 100 I would, knowledgeable, welcoming and service with a smile. The staff showed great knowledge about cats in general and were genuinely in love with their ward at the cafe. Enthusiastic about sharing the stories of the cats and again always smiling and polite.
In all, it was a memorable experience and I would not hesitate to recommend Lady Dinah’s to anyone. Please spread the word about this place, and support these amazing people and cats.
Thank you to everyone at the emporium, you made our day 😊
A. B.
Loved the experience! Staff were really friendly and accommodating and have an amazing bond with the cats!
S. B.
Lovely place, amazingly cute cats, food was ok - scones too large and very heavy, some cakes were far too sweet and sandwiches were very stingy on the fillings and padded out with extra bread.
A. E.
It’s such a beautiful place! The staff is more then nice, the food and drinks are incredible and the cats are unbelievable cute. You need to order the high tea!

This place is AMAZING, didn't want to leave, the cats are so well looked after and so happy, the staff are lovely and the food is nice (only had a sandwich and cake), I WILL BE BACK ;)

Amazing place! Brought my partner as a Valentine's Day surprise, and it couldn't have been a lovelier experience! Staff were really friendly and accommodating, and the food was brilliant! The cats themselves were subdued and not really fussed by the humans trying to play with them - but that's to be expected, since this isn't a petting zoo, and they must see hundreds of humans a day. Regardless, the animals were all beautifully groomed and very calm and friendly. Absolutely couldn't fault the experience, can't wait for an excuse to come back!
E. N.
The cats are so friendly. The food is so good. If you love cats, you’ll love this place.
S. M.
Came here for a virgin voucher, lovely staff and place just a shame our table was stuck in the corner and we felt a bit wedged in next to another couple so didn’t really get up much to enjoy the cats
H.
Beautiful cafe with the most wonderful cats! The staff are lovely and friendly too. My only gripe is that the ethos is centred around the beautiful cats there who are all treated as individuals with their own needs and wants yet the menu contains animal products which is a real shame. Seeing ham there next to a picture of a smiling pig seemed particularly sad and out of touch when the cats are treated with such respect. Please consider making your menu vegan so that all animals are shown the same respect and love as the cats.
S. S.
Absolutely amazing Afternoon Tea experience for cat lovers. Friendly staff who really know how to look after indoor cats.
l. c.
Very nice place, with cute and friendly cats which, contrary to other places, seem to enjoy human contacts and plays and pets. Food is very good as well, would definitely come back
F.
My friend and I went here a few days ago and we both loved it! The staff were great and really friendly, you can tell they love the cats a lot. The cats were so cute! I wanted to adopt them all, although Victor and Sybil were my favourites! The place is very well-run and the cats are very well looked after. The food and drinks were also great. The whole experience was definitely good value; £15 to spend an hour and a half in a cafe full of cats is great! I'd love to come back here again soon!
L. W.
What a fabulous place! I took my cat mad son there for his 12th birthday. Apart from the tiny entrance everything else was such fun. We had a table in the basement and there were lots of cats to tickle and entertain us. Cakes were lovely too. We couldn't eat everything but they gave us a doggy bag to take home. Would thoroughly recommend.
C. C.
I was bought a voucher for afternoon tea here for my birthday. As they had vegan options, I took my daughter with me. My feelings about the place are that it's a funny little place. There are cats all around the place, but because it was an extremely hot day the day we went, all the cats were asleep. You are not allowed to pet them when they're asleep so all we could do is look at them. As I have a cat of my own, I have seen plenty of sleeping cat in my time, so this was not particularly exciting.
The food was nice. We got 3 sandwiches each, a scone and jam (I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get vegan clotted cream, just margarine), cakes. Oh and one (!) cupcake. Every pair of diners got one cupcake between them. We had to order our drinks before we went into the cafe area (which is at the back of what looks like a pet supplies shop). We were allowed two drinks each, not the unlimited supply of tea that I've had at other afternoon tea establishments.
All that said, though, we had a nice afternoon there and it was an extremely thoughtful present.
S.
Went here about a month ago and had an amazing time! The food was really tasty and the decor was beautiful, especially the downstairs room! The cats were super cute and it was really nice how there were some more laid back cats who just wanted to cuddle, and a few more excited ones who were down to play. The staff were really friendly and polite and were very helpful in advising on what cats liked which toys best! Had an great time there and would definitely recommend!
L. s.
Took my daughter here as a christmas present and it was just perfect! The cafe itself is magical and beautiful in design. The staff are so attentive, friendly, chatty and helpful- the best service! Food was delicious, we count eat it all so staff boxed it up for us to take home. The cats were adorable and inquisitive...roaming around happily, often playing or a young strokes. We had a wonderful afternoon and left very happy. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. Thank you for a perfect afternoon.
N. S.
I went for high tea and the teas were all good quality and delicious. Food was fine, nothing fancy. The cats are beautiful and have interesting personalities, although they don't seem to appreciate human attention very much. The decor and cat play area is really well done downstairs, upstairs is a little bland in comparison. Overall a great experience but don't expect to be cuddling cats the whole time, in fact for the first hour we only saw three around the place and they were sleeping so had to be left alone. A few more came out to play later which made it all worthwhile.
C. H.
The cats are lovely and so are the members of staff. Definitely try they're teas, they're to die for
H.
My sister and I came here for my birthday - it was money well spent! I had a chamomile tea and a rose tea, which were both lovely. The food was filling and really good, especially the macaroons. I petted a lot of cats and they were all quite calm and happy. The staff were also so friendly and I could tell that the cats love them a lot. I will definitely come here again!
J. H.
Awesome place to chill out with some super cute cats
A. M.
Felt very welcoming. Lovely calming atmosphere. Staff were very attentive, polite & accommodating. Cat's were amazing just being themselves, such lovely personalities they all have!
A wonderful piece of calm in a very upside down world at the moment.
L. M.
Great experience for cats' lovers! Staff extremely friendly and food very tasty
H. I.
Absolutely the most amazing place to go in London. The cats were extremely cute and playful. The staff at the place truly takes amazing care of the cats and everybody is very nice and friendly. And honestly their hot chocolate is one of the best I have tried. All in all this is truly a great place to visit and I would highly recommend it but before going don't forget to book as its always packed but its definitely worth it visiting. :) I can 100% say I will be definitely going there again.
J. P.
Paid for the high tea package, I was very happy with what I got for the money. Cats were incredibly cute, especially Wendy, and the staff were all very friendly.
2.
Lovely staff. Lovely cats. Lovely environment. Can't ask for anything more
K. S.
Great cafe decor with lovely cats. All the cats are very well cared and adorable.
M. L.
If you love good food and cute kitties, you need to pay a visit to this place. We had the high tea and it was such a lovely experience. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and kept topping up our drinks and even wrapped up the food we couldn't finish.
We had the 1pm slot, which I really recommend as the cats were fed about 10 minutes into our visit which meant they woke up, so we could actually interact with them for most of our 90 minute slot. They were mostly all asleep by the time we left at around 2:30.
Cats were all really happy and clean, and the place did not smell like cat at all!
J. W.
I was brought the Cat Afternoon Tea as a present and was very happy with the experience. The atmosphere is really cool and quirky and the service was friendly and added to the experience. The afternoon tea was delicious and there was more than enough food, we had to take a doggy bag home to enjoy later! The only downside was most of the cats were very sleepy but i think that had something to do with the heat. Overall i really enjoyed the experience and if you like or love cats you will definitely have a great time!
s. j.
Second time we have visited, I adore cats and we have 3 rescue cats at home at the moment. I found that the girls can be very patronising especially when we've had rescue cats for 14 years, of how to touch them etc but I suppose the money goes to a good cause. I can honestly say I won't visit again.
H. M.
Had an amazing time at Lady Dinah's. The cats were all lovely and the afternoon tea was delicious and filling
T. T.
My dad booked it for me and my sister for my birthday last year. I can honestly say it is the best present idea ever! We travelled to London for the day on the train just for this experience and it was totally worth it. The staff are so lovely and they know so much about each cat, you can tell they really love their animals. We had afternoon tea which was delicious. I’m also vegetarian so it can sometimes be difficult for myself to find something for me but they had such a wonderful selection. We were in the first room (there is another room downstairs) and it was so nicely laid out and there was plenty of space for people and the cats. We didn’t have to stay at our table, we could walk around and explore the cafe and meet all of the wonderful cats!. It was the such an incredible afternoon. 100% would recommend -for both the cutest of cats and the friendly staff. :)
N. E.
When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the cat carers.
We were taken through told the dos and donts with the cats but again were made to feel welcome.
Then we were taken to our table the inside of this cafe is stunning and is made in every way possible for the cats living there. All the cats were so relaxed a few were sleeping a few were walking around. You can tell by the way the cats act around the cat carers they are very happy and fell very much at home.
The food was lovely and the cat carers were very attentive and made sure you were satisfied and had enough to eat and drink.
It was such an enjoyable 90 minutes. So relaxing and such a welcoming happy little place. We will be going back and also recommending to everyone we know who loves cats.
M. K.
Great staff, yummy food and they even had cocktails! Vegan food is also good
A. M.
My friend knows that I am a cat fanatic so she invited me to have afternoon tea in here. It was several years ago that we came. Reading the comments though reminded me that the experience has been quite consistent over time. I have nine cats and just like the cats at Lady Dinah they sleep in the afternoons and their daily peak hours are usually 4am till 10am. So yes when I was at Lady Dinah most of the cats were napping. I think it is important to remember that cats are cats, you cannot meet them for the first time and expect them to be all over you. Some cat cafe deliberately starve their cats so that they would beg the customers for food and do their best to appear friendly. I am glad that this cafe does not do that and have treated the cats well.
I think the cafe owners think more along the line of cat owners thus this is how they organise the place. I am speaking from the experience of living with cats for 8 years and helping out with fostering strays and at a rescue. If you are looking to feel as if you are reconnecting with your long lost kitten then you are going to be disappointed. Out of the about two dozens of cats I’ve lived with, only four are friendly to everyone including strangers, one of which I bottle fed from when he was two weeks old. Bear this statistics about cats in mind when you visit Lady Dinah.

Underwhelming experience unfortunately.. I think the cafe could do with a bit of refurbishing, looks tired.
The staff were mostly good, it would have been nice when seated to have been offered some info about all the cats/names/interesting things a visitor may want to know.
We were told with our high tea option we could have 2 drinks each. When the member of staff came to take our second drink option. I opted for a mocktail, I was not informed this would have to be paid for separately and not included in our £30 per head high tea. It would have been nice to be informed of this, as I would have obviously just selected a drink included in the price!
The high tea leaves much to be desired, found it to be mostly pretty dry and bland. but the cakes were yummy.
The cats were lovely, as anyone who knows and loves cats- you can not expect them to be all over you! but it was great to have them around whilst having tea.
p.s- looking at other reviews and the responses given by Lady Dinah's, I would encouragement management to take onboard feedback (within reason), instead of arguing and accusing customers of being wrong.

We were very lucky that when we called to enquire about a booking with only two days to spare, they had just had a cancellation. They make it very clear on their website that they are normally booked up at least 7 days in advance, so we only called on the off-chance. The website is very informative, so we not only knew exactly what to expect, but also what would be expected of us. The cats welfare is the most important thing, after all. My friend & I are both cat people, so we were more than happy to comply. We got a seat upstairs nearest the window, but away from where the stairs go down. There were a few cats in the window space and on shelves above us, sleeping. We had a lovely lunch, and then had a play with the cats who were awake and in the mood. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It was very Zen-like, hard to explain. It was also nice to be surrounded by like-minded cat people. The staff were friendly and cheerful. They were happy to answer questions and talk about the cats if they weren't busy serving or greeting customers at the desk. Next time I visit London and get a free afternoon I'm heading back. Really nice experience.

We had a lovely time here. The venue has the cats’ welfare as its top priority. The lunchtime roll was of reasonable standard and the cakes were divine. The cats clearly get a lot of attention from the visiting cat lovers so it wasn’t always possible to get them to interact with you but it was so lovely to be in their environment. You are free to walk around the two floors and can play with and groom the cats - provided they are up for it of course! There is a member of staff dedicated to just playing with the cats and feeding them and it was great to talk to her and learn a little more about what they do here: they have regular meetings to discuss the individual cats’ welfare and happiness and will rehome a cat if is what s/he needs. Very professional and caring. Very impressed and will definitely visit again when we are in the area.
C. P.
The staff were so friendly and clearly care deeply about the cats! The food was delicious, including gluten-free and vegan options. The place is decorated with an Alice-in-Wonderland theme, and the cats were all so sweet. While many of them were dozing, during our stay various cats were up and interacting with the visitors. I bonded with Cecil in particular! There's a booklet on each table telling you about each cat and what they enjoy and a little about their personalities. You will not regret visiting-- it's a must for any cat lover.
A. F.
Had a wonderful high tea here and was surrounded by cats, some sleeping, some wandering about and it was fabulous. Cat welfare is high on the agenda which was reassuring for me as a cat lover. The cats had plenty of hiding places and high walkways to get away from guests if they wanted to. The house rules are all about cat welfare too.
Food was wonderful as was the tea, plus there were lots of cold drinks on offer...unlimited hot and cold drinks as part of the experience. I did treat myself to a gin though which was lovely.
L.
Very lovely cat emporium, I enjoyed it and the cats were great!
W. F.
My wife and I had a lovely time here. The staff were so very helpful and happy to stay and chat about the cats. So nice to see them so well looked after and all rescue cats. Not just this, the food and drink was also really good.
K. D.
Really lovely atmosphere - everyone's so friendly and helpful making sure we had a great time. Cake was DELICIOUS too, so 100% recommend indulging. I booked it for my sisters birthday and the staff were really lovely and wished her a happy birthday!
Cats are all clearly so so loved, and have spaces to go away from people if that's how they feel, but you can tell the place is set up with the cats interests at heart. Could easily spend all day here.
E. H.
A very relaxing way to spend 90 minutes. The café is beautiful, decorated with a quirky Alice in Wonderland theme (Dinah was her cat ) but with little hidden extras all over the place if you look carefully. The cats are in excellent condition and have lots of places to get away when they've had enough of people. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the coffee is great! You can also purchase delicious food if you want to. If you love cats, this is a great place to visit and an oasis of calm in the busyness of London.
A. T.
If you like cats and tea this is the perfect place to go too.
Food is good and the place is very clean so no need to worry about hairs etc.
Cats are cats so except them to ignore you.
The staff are friendly and encourage the cats to play so you do get to see them climbing on the nice purpose built furniture, I recommend sitting down stairs but you can wander around back up stairs if that's where the cats are.
We had the tea and cake with sandwiches which I was very impressed with.
L. R.
Love this idea. Rescue cats. 13 were in the cafe but most were asleep. Rules are no touching cats when they are sleeping and eating which is understandable, but a little disappointing as 11 cats were sleeping the whole duration we were there.
I went with 3 friends and we had a 90 min slot which went so fast! The food was really good and the tea was lovely. I think there should be an option of 2 hours and more rescue cats if that is possible.

Lovely experience for a cat lover's birthday treat. Reasonably priced food and drinks for inner London. Staff helpful and seemed to enjoy talking with us about their cats (and ours). It was a very hot day so the cats were resting more than playing but they did come out and we saw most of them. They all look well cared for and we came away with a few ideas to enhance our two cats lives!
C. P.
Lovely dressed venue. Staff went out of their way to sort a problem for us. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the cakes are really expensive
A. A.
Lovely place for cat lovers. Note cats don't know you, so they won't seat on your lap (and you can't pick them up). As with any cat, you need to get to know them slowly for them to be confortable with you patting them. Afternoon tea was good and staff was super friendly. Better if you book as it is usually full.
S. C.
Had a lovely time at Lady Dinah's. Great company (cats). Lovely coffee and cake. Highly recommend
V. M.
We thoroughly enjoyed our High Tea at Lady Dinah's. It's quite small but not cramped. The high tea was superbly fresh and delicious, and the unlimited choice of drinks from tea, latte, cappuccino, sodas, juices, was great. They catered to our special requests (vegetarian & pescetarian), and the staff were just lovely. We were glad we sat upstairs, more light & air on a warm day, downstairs seemed dark although maybe more atmospheric with the Wonderland theme. The cats ...... there are times when there's not a lot of interaction with the cats, they're not to be disturbed whilst sleeping or eating, etc., but we really liked that the cats came first, and also that you could freely move around to search for a cat who was ready for a fuss. They're well looked after, beautiful coats, and seem very happy and calm (trust me, I'd be the first to pipe up if I didn't think they were happy!). All in all, a really nice afternoon, thank you.
M. G.
Beautiful rooms, delicious teas and amazing cats and staff! I visited in September and can’t wait to come back, the place is very welcoming and the staff will tell you what the cats like or not and help you bond with them respectfully so everyone can have a good time. I fell in love with Peter, but Wookie was the highlight of my day! So many toys and such a cozy atmosphere- cat paradise!
j. a.
I visited Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium yesterday with friends and we had a wonderful time. Our 'slot' was 12.30 - 2pm and we waited in the seated area just inside the door as we were early.
The cats were absolutely divine! Some cats slept the whole time we were there, some were wandering about and the 2 kittens played delightfully, as kittens do. The cats are clearly very content and their welfare is put first as it should be. Patrons are kindly but firmly prevented from picking the cats up or waking them and flash photography is forbidden. The staff clearly love the cats and encourage them to play when appropriate.
We had bagels for lunch and pots of delicious loose leaf tea, the food and drinks we had and saw were of high quality and fresh. Staff were around at all times to take orders or chat about the cats.
I highly recommend a visit for all cat lovers. If you are unlucky and most of the cats are asleep, this shows how relaxed and happy the cats are. True cat lovers would find this reassuring if frustrating, such is the nature of the independent cat! I can't wait to go back!
G. A.
Really love the place! I love how all the staffs are really familiar with all of the cats. They knew the characteristics of each cat and even their favourite toys. It was really fun playing with different cats as we understood why they acted the way they were. We ordered a Red Velvet Cake and Pop Corn Green Tea and they were really good too! I recommend this to anyone who is a cat lover or just want to experience something new in London.
a. c.
My experience was overall pretty great. The decorations were really cool and the food was great. They didn’t let my whole party of 9 in because it was too many people and might stress the cats out but that was totally understandable and they gave us free cat ear headbands as an apology. Other than that, everything was fine and the staff was super nice (one lady at the front desk seemed kind of impatient with us while trying to figure out the number of people situation but we were a bunch of American tourists who the majority of had never been to England before so I get that) and of course there were a lot of cats
L. E.
The tea and cakes were great but let's be honest, you're really here for the cats. The cats are all rescue cats and they are treated VERY well indeed. Honestly it felt like the cat's happiness and welfare was the number 1 priority here; which was very refreshing. Lovely atmosphere with lots of toys to play with the kitties! A cat lover's paradise... Too bad it's not next door to my house.
T. H.
It was a lovely place with lots to entertain the cats though they were very sleepy
A. L.
Lady Dinah's was an awesome experience. It is beautifully decorated for the cats to wander around freely, with lots of areas to climb and play. The cats are quite friendly, but happily leave you to eat your afternoon tea.
The food was great-there was so much!! Lovely scones and cakes!
Loved the Cheshire Cat Gin!! Must have!
Dorian and Lizzie were our fave cats-so friendly and cute!! :)
Was a lovely birthday gift to me from my sister, and I'm so glad we went together. It's a once in a lifetime experience, in a groovy part of Shoreditch too.
Thank you so much to Katie too-who was very helpful and told us lots of cool stuff about the cats.
xx

What an amazing place. The decor is unusual but tasteful and the Cats are just beautiful & well looked after. The Cats come and join you on the tables, chairs etc. Staff very friendly. Good day out and would love to go again.
N. I.
Fantastic cat cafe. Good sized area, over 2 floors, with plenty of spots to interact with the cats. Went for afternoon tea and the food was very good and filling. Compared to other cat cafés I've been to the cats here were a fair bit more interactive and seemed to be more used to human interaction, which made for a very nice visit. Would highly recommend to cat people of all ages !
E. C.
Lovely place with lovely staff and lovely cats!
Food and drinks were nice.
We all ended up with a favourite cat each (tough choice between Cecil and Victor). There is 2 floors of the cafe - a bright upstairs floor with a balcony for the cats to go out on to; and a darker downstairs area with a forest like theme. Loads of places for the cats to venture, but they tend to sit randomly in inconvenient places on the floor as every ordinary cat does too.
All the people complaining that the cats were uninterested and sleeping: Have you ever met a cat before?!?!
Went at 10am on a friday and there was a nice level of people, i would avoid going at a busier time.
K. C.
Absolutely amazing place to go, staff are so friendly, the cats are adorable, food is great!

Lovely place. Food and tea was great, cats were adorable. Some loved fuss and there were cute kittens being playful too. Staff were very friendly and knew all about each of the different cats!

Had a lovely afternoon at Lady Dinah’s cafe.
This place limit the number of customers in, so don’t be surprise if you can see free tables from outside as they respect the cats and keep a maximum capacity pretty low.
Cats are adorable making they lives around you, food is good (vegetarian, gluten free) and beverage are extra (amazing tea selection!) You will have one and half hour to enjoy this two floors of furry friends. If you follow the rules that you have been given you will enjoy your time there!
Lovely staff that knows all the pets! And no, it doesn’t smell bad!
R. W.
Staffed by "cat carers" who clearly love their jobs - they know their cats well and are more than happy to share that knowledge with patrons, enabling you to get the best out of your visit if you're willing to listen to their advice.
The food and drink is, naturally, only the second consideration here - the cats are the reason for coming - but it is still good. There's a good range of coffees, teas, and hot chocolates available; the cake portions are generous. We didn't try the sandwiches this time around, but I'm sure we'll be making a return visit.
The cats are well looked after and display their own personalities - so long as you remember that they are living creatures to be treated with respect then they will reward your visit if you are in any way a cat person.
Our visit was an absolute delight, and I look forward to returning soon.
V. A.
A cute place to have afternoon tea. One of the cats is HUGE!

If you like cats and tea you'll like this place, a relatively seamless experience.

On my first ever trip to London, my friend and I had the pleasure of going to Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium. It was my friend's birthday, so I had ordered the little birthday package that came with a cupcake, a card, and a special birthday mug with illustrations of the cats for her to take with her. Probably the best way to review this place is to say that my friend was blown away with how wonderful this place is--she had been expecting it to be nice and to pet some cats, but she was surprised with how much she enjoyed it. The crew was warm and welcoming and knew all the kitties' quirks and preferences. You could tell the cats were well taken care of and happy. Also, I had the most delicious iced mocha there, so their food isn't anything to sniff at either! I would recommend this to anyone planning a visit to London.
G. G.
The loveliest place in London, recommended for every cat lover out there.

We had a great time and were surprised at how cute this cafe is (Wonderland themed)! The cats are really sweet and soft; watching them play while drinking some tea was a great way to start our Sunday. The staff is very nice and the cats caretakers take the time to answer any questions and introduce each cat to you :)
W. H.
Truly a wonderful experience! The cats are taken care of so well and are obviously attached to their staff and family. The experience was fantastic and the room downstairs was amazing with fantastic spots for the cats to run about in. The cafe was also very accommodating with my diet and the booking staff were very helpful even though I was having trouble. A really great gift for any cat-friend!
L. B.
We love this wonderful cafe. It's our 2nd visit this time as a Birthday treat. It's such a lovely experience to be able to enjoy a snack & drink whilst in the company of the gorgeous cats! Their personalities are all unique and all enjoy attention in their own ways. The cafe itself is very calm and imaginative & friendly staff. Go there if you adore cats!!
S. J.
As a cat lover, the way cats are being treated is important to me and the emporium is the best example for that. Cats are given the prime importance as their catalogue mentions there are no bad or mean cats, they reflect their true feelings. The cat carers are true to their service and you literally see the cats respond to them. Loved every minute spend with the cats and interacting with fellow cat lovers and carers alike. The cafe is well maintained and the ambience is perfect. Already waiting for the next time to visit!
L. R.
A wonderful experience which was a birthday treat for my son. The staff were lovely and enjoyed talking about the individual cats, most of whom were wandering around all the time we were there. They were gorgeous and obviously loved and well cared for. I would certainly recommend the experience to anyone who loves cats.
J. S.
Lady Dinah’s is absolutely one of my favorite places! I love their mission to rescue kitties and make them feel important! After reading the policies of Lady Dinah’s I knew that although I wouldn’t be able to love on the kitties like I would my own, I would love being surrounded by the cats and enjoying a high tea! I mean if you’re in London, you must high tea, and why not high tea with cats! My sister and I had the best time!
Upon visiting again, I knew I must go back, especially since I was staying in Shoreditch! I took a friend of mine this time and it was just as magical! In the year between visits, so much work had been done to create a magical wonderland for the fluffy babies! From now on, I plan to visit Lady Dinah’s any time I am in London! Thank you for providing a relaxing atmosphere for adults, and a new lease on life for the kitties!
K. M.
Even thought it's currently the only place of its kind in London, they don't take their clients for granted and try their best to make your stay enjoyable. Cats are relaxed and well taken care of, food is great and plentiful. The high tea was a bit pricey, but the whole experience did not disappoint. Perfect for a special occasion!
M. L.
Wonderful
Can't rate this place highly enough. Lovely atmosphere, particularly enjoy the peace & quiet, which as a cat owner, I know cats appreciate. Those who expect to turn up w/o a booking and/or with an excited under-12 yo will be disappointed. This cafe respects cats needs, not your selfish demands - suck it up. The cats are gorgeous & the staff are great .Keep up the good work everyone. 😍😻

I came with my partner today and we had an absolutely wonderful time! The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The cats were absolutely adorable and the food and drink were delicious. We’ve already booked to come back again. Thank you for a fabulous experience!
J. B.
Visited today, all the staff really friendly & very approachable & told us so much information about the cats , and everything else. We really had a lovely relaxing time. Staff very attentive to us. As a cat lover it was so nice to see this little treasure of a place. Will definitely return. Thanks all .
B. C.
Such a great place for cat lovers! Felt so relaxing to spend the afternoon with the kitties and enjoy a hot chocolate and a tasty piece of cake. The tea room is amazing, beautifully decorated and perfectly arranged for the cats. You can see that the cats are kings and queens here, and the staff is super lovely and caring. Great job. Already booked for my next visit 😻
D. T.
Lovely cats, lovely staffs, and love atmosphere. We spent such an amazing time here.
R. B.
Came to Lady Dinah's yesterday for a bit of a break away from the world and to see the cats since my boyfriend and I aren't in a position to take on a cat but love them.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was great (especially the salted caramel brownie!) and the coffee was lovely. The cats were friendly and took it in turns to play or snooze. It seemed every time we went for a wander there was a new cat to meet.
Lovely experience all round :)
M. B.
We took my son there for his birthday even though hes 24. He really loves cats and seen as he cant have one in his flat this was the next best thing. It was lovely as they gave him a mug and cup cake for his birthday.( well i had to pay extra) but it was worth it. The cats are very well looked after and they love their owners. He really enjoyed it there.
E. A.
Excellent cakes and the coffee was great, but the cats took center stage. We were lucky enough to be seated at a table where Wookie was already hogging up a whole side of the couch to himself. He and the other cats definitely run the place, and they seem to really enjoy the trappings of fame. The staff is friendly and extremely cat centric, with non-food -handling cat minders on hand to keep an eye on cats and customers, and to make sure the cats are getting plenty of play and petting. Lots of fun!
J. H.
Lady Dinah's is an absolute haven. Have visited a number of times, most recently for Cat Yoga. I have especially found the staff to be friendly and happy to answer any questions, and they will give you tips on interacting with the cats (if awake) as they know them and their favourite toys / scratching positions well! The tea and cake selection is brilliant and the vegan options are a real bonus making a vegan treat easier and easier to get. It's super clean too.
Most importantly the welfare of the cats is top priority; consequently, the cats are happy and either snoozing, adding to the calm relaxing atmosphere, or playing delightfully. This cat cafe is wonderful!
R. B.
Went this afternoon. I was very pleased by the high standard of care the cats evidently recieved. The design of the environment was very thoughtful and allowed the cats have a break if they needed it.
90 minutes for £10 and a drink was very reasonable considerating London prices.
My partner and I purchased cakes inside. My vegan cake was delicious and a large slice. Worth the price most definitely.
The afternoon tea looked very reasonable for the price and delicious. Portion sizes were generous.
Staff were very friendly. Jason in particular was very friendly and chatted with us. It is clear that the staff genuinely care about the cats.
I will certainly be booking again!
Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Cats! Lady Dinah's is a lovely little tea shop with really lovely staff and some adorable kitties. I booked way back in November for my boyfriend and I as one of his Christmas presents. I booked the Vegan birthday surprise and asked if they could write Merry Christmas (yep, in March) on the card and they were so accommodating, they brought out the cake with a candle on a plate and there was a drawn on Christmas cat complete with hat and beard, adorable! Great value for money with the food and drink and really nice chatty staff. The cats are really well looked after, they have lots to do and there are really great rules in place for their protection. If you love cats you'll love Lady Dinah's!
C. A.
Great venue, I didn't expect it to be quirky with it's mad hatter themed but it was great. Most importantly you can see the cats are very well cared for and absolutely adore the staff. There is no pressure for them to sit and be with people, with lots of spaces and ledges for them to escape to should they wish. The food and drink being so nice was just an added bonus. Great little day out for the older and mature families.
N. K. (.
This is a nice cafe, looked and felt cosy, food was priced at what you would expect for a typical London cafe, possibly higher due to the setting of being around cats, the cakes are very rich in flavour. The staff were really nice, being talkative as well as informative. The cats aren't so playful really or too bothered by people and end up doing their own thing. Most of them slept the entire time. Just a nice different experience to the norm. Worth taking a cat person.
I. M.
Had a lovely time, surrounded by lots of furry, friendly cats/kittens
O. S.
Great staff and a high quality afternoon tea. We had great fun playing with cats. The area which you eat/they play is an incredible place for the cats, clearly a lot of passion has gone into making this a great environment for them.
There are kittens at the moment who very inquisitive and playful, so we had a few guests turn up at our table, which was fantastic! Bear in mind that these cats have a full day playing around and see a lot of guests, so they will get tired! Don't expect to have 20 cats playing with you at once but some of the cheekier ones may just turn up at your table!
S. C.
Quickly become a favorite spot in London. The cats seem to be loved and treated well and it shows with how playful and fun and full of character all the cats are. Its such a lovely well kept place and the staff are really friendly too. The food is also pretty decent. I literally got anything bad to say. I really really recommend this place!
G. K.
Had a lovely experience here! The hot chocolate and cake was lovely. Plenty of cats to see and keep you occupied while enjoying your food and drinks. Loved the fact that you’re not allowed to pick up or wake the cats - shows that their cats are their top priority. Look forward to my next visit!
B. N.
The place had lots of lovely and relaxed cats as advertised. The cats were very tolerant of being petted for the most part. Wasn't entirely sure a discretionary service charge was warranted for a £3 pot of tea for two, but we paid it. Hopefully all tips go to staff.
D. H.
Loved it! Loved it! So pleases to see rescue cats in a safe haven. Staff are fab!
R. C.
Myself and my boyfriend enjoyed our visit to the cafe today. The cats seem happy around strangers and in their surroundings. We were seated downstairs with 3 or 4 cats although one slept the whole time so we left her alone as the rules are in place to stop distress. The others wandered around enjoying a bit of attention when they fancied it. After our time was up we went upstairs and there where a few more lazy cats and a big tabby who was lovely so we had to stop and say hello to him. The cafe is clean and friendly and everyone there seemed to really enjoy their time
V. T.
I've gone to Lady Dinah's as often as I can since they opened and the cafe just gets better and better. The staff are amazing, the music and atmosphere are instantly calming and uplifting, and the cats are the most pampered little creatures ever. They're full of love and mischief and have lots of toys, fuss and stimulation. If they want to take a break from being fussed, they have plenty of places to go. Although I have severe allergies which prevent me from eating at basically anywhere in London, the cakes and sandwiches always look amazing and fresh.
K. G.
We went for one of their "Soothing Sunday" sessions and loved the experience. All of the cats seemed to enjoy the attention and the staff members are very knowledgeable and caring towards the cats. Great space downstairs with cat toys provided. Our favourite cats were Peter, Victor, and Sybil! Would definitely recommed for cat lovers!
V. O.
A lovely place! Even though I wish I could've spent all day I there, I understand why you can't! If you're a cat lover, and above all, a cat RESPECTER, then you will love this café. Make sure you book any dietary requirements in advance; my boyfriend did not do this and I ended up not being able to eat anything. It was entirely his own fault (it was all a surprise for me, so he definitely gets the blame!) The food looked delicious though! You get to take what you can't finish, home.
My recommendation: to make the most of your time, pick up a toy and drag it around with you. Any cats that are awake will definitely be interested in having a play with you!
L. W.
Visited today and I had to put a review straight away. Lady Dinah's is amazing! All the staff are very professional and super friendly. Its such a relaxing place! I had a hot chocolate and scone, both delicious! The cats are brilliant, you have to remember they are cats - they sleep, they eat, they sleep, they poop, they sleep some more! Seeing the cats so chilled out within a multi cat environment was wonderful. They have everything they require and the cafe puts there needs first, I was most certainly impressed with the use of shelving around the rooms for the cats! A big pat on the back to the humans for this :-) I wish I could do that for my pet cats! In conclusion, a relaxing cat haven set within the very busy London life style, so if your looking for somewhere to chill out and have a coffee, Lady Dinah's is purrrrfect! Keep up the good work guys!
B. B.
Amazing experience! The staff are wonderful and so caring for their cats. At no point did it feel like the cats are there solely for entertainment of customers and their well-being is always put first. The food was absolutely delicious and we had so much fun watching the antics of Victor the rescue kitten. Can't praise everyone there highly enough.
S. E.
I like how they have rescue kittens, such a lovely place. I like the atmosphere of the place, very calming. They have a decent selection of foods and even vegan options. Staff were very friendly and welcoming
L. J.
I've been to a few cat cafes, and this one was by far the best. A wonderful atmosphere, great food (the toastie was seriously good and the scone was filling), a wonderful selection of tea, good music choices, friendly staff and, most importantly, lovely cats.
L. G.
This a little paradise for the cats who are looked after really well and we had a great time there this afternoon. The cats were gorgeous and were really comfortable in their gorgeous play area. The hot chocolates and paninis were lovely and the staff were very chatty and hands on with the cats. We really enjoyed our time there and wish we lived closer as it took us 2 hours to get there from Kent!

Visited on 22 August 2017, what a magical place! Lovely environment, beautiful cats and the thing that we loved was the fact that the cat carers know these cats very well and are obviously all massive cat lovers like the customers. The cats needs, health and safety are clearly the most important thing to Lady Dinah's. Highly recommended - just remember that cats will be cats and they will come to you when ready. I have seen a few reviews that they cats are 'boring' because they sleep - but you have to remember when visiting that you are visiting the cats home and you have to let them do what they do. I personally thought the sleeping cats were adorable but there are certainly some live wires there too. 5 stars, will definitely return!
D. L.
Very interesting place for cat lovers. The hot beverages and the cakes are amazing. But of course the main attraction is the variety of little furry inhabitants of this lovely café. Each of the cats has its own particular character, some of them being particularly friendly. So expect a lot of attention while you're having your coffee or tea
H. W.
I loved that the cats all have unique personalities. The staff are very hospitable and tell you all about the history of the rescue animals they have. The food was delicious! The cafe is very clean with hand washing facilities all over so that you can pet the cats, then wash your hands after and go back to your food. Definitely worth the money for the experience and the quality of food.
S. H.
Absolutely wonderful! The setting was clean, cute and homely, the food yummy, the staff super helpful and friendly and above all the cats!
I would say this was the best cafe I have ever been to. Having cats around really mellows people down and we ended up chatting with other costumers, which never happens in normal cafes.
So very pleased, 10/10 would come again :)

Previously I had mean to put four stars but could not edit it. Had the gluten free high tea and the salted caramel brownie was to die for.

Booked in advance for afternoon high tea, And thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Lovely decor, none of the hygiene issues you might worry about with so many cats, and the staff were pleasant and talkative about the cats' names and quirks. Yes, some were sleeping for all the visit, but that's to be expected! The refills on the drinks were well worth getting the high tea rather than just entry, and would recommend doing so to anyone visiting.

We went here yesterday for high tea for my friends birthday. The staff are very friendly, and told us all about the cats that run around. The food was good, especially the savoury muffins! We were seated in the basement room, and LOVED the Wonderland theme down there :-)

for it's purpose it is definitely worth 5 stars. the afternoon tea was well prepared and there was a good selection of drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also they really helped you to interact with the cats ie showing the toys they liked or the kind of petting they preferred. If you hate cats, don't go here but if you like cats, it is a very fun experience to have with a group of friends.

Such a relaxing experience - my daughter smiled the whole time. We ordered a gluten free high tea and the quality was really excellent, lovely teas and helpful and friendly staff. I was impressed with the set up to create a relaxing atmosphere for cats and visitors alike. Definitely going to visit again and would recommend to all cat lovers.

Welcome to the land of adorable and very spoiled cats! If you're a cat lover, this is a lovely space full of cat toys, contraptions, and entertainment. The space is huge - with two floors full of tables and even a giant cat hamster-wheel! The cafe itself is pretty basic with the interior mostly designed for the cats, so if you prefer something a bit more upscale this may not be the place for you. We only had drinks, which were alright (naming them after the cats is an adorable touch). The staff are friendly but we felt a little overwhelmed by the chipper attitude and the house rules (you aren't allowed to leave your table before ordering, etc.) Overall, it was a cute experience and we're glad we went but we won't be coming back. That said, everyone around us seemed to have a magnificent time so do try it out for yourself.

A fantastic idea beautifully brought to life. I loved everything about the cat cafe, from the gorgeous decorations to the food and of course, the sweetest cats. I visited when it first opened and bookings were essential, but do check before you go as it's unmissable.

Amaaaaazing, really worth it. If you love cats than you will love this amazing place, all staffs are really cool and lovely. All cats are so well cared and cute that you just want to take all of them home. Loved it and definitely recommend it. Hope to be back soon.

If you are a cat person, you will like this place. At the moment I visited they had 13 cats on residence. They are what makes this place worth visiting. They walk around you, some are shy...some are more curious. The staff is helpful for you to be able to interact with them, they hand you treats or their favorite toy. The kitchen is separate from where the cats live, so there is no hygiene concern, its actually a different shop that is connected through doors. A different place to have coffee. Bagels are good.

Spent a lovely afternoon at Lady Dinah's having yummy afternoon tea. Staff were very friendly and clearly love the cats. A lot of the cats were asleep when we arrived, and you're not allowed to wake them (which makes sense). This was all made clear in the booking terms already. I can understand that some reviewers were disappointed by this, but fact is, cats just sleep a lot
And if guests were allowed to wake them, they wouldn't get very much sleep. I guess you just have to take the risk.
Understandably, most of the cats are not that interested in playing with the guests, since they know the staff and are used to them, and guests change all the time. If you come here to snuggle up closely to all the cats, you'll be disappointed. You're not meant to pick them up and they won't come on your lap. All understandable if you know anything about cats, especially taking into consideration that most (all?) of them are rescue cats and may have trust issues etc.
It's still a lovely atmosphere sitting and enjoying a nice, calm cuppa amongst all those beautiful and well-cared for creatures. Most of them are happy to be stroked and some of them will engage in play happily, especially the kittens.
The only thing we were disappointed by was that we were seated in the upstairs area. The downstairs part had far more cats, cats' toys and baskets, scratching posts etc. Of course we were allowed downstairs but it meant leaving our table and food, taking our bags (sadly you can't be too careful these days) or going downstairs separately, wandering around the other diners' tables and feeling a bit awkward.
We really liked Lady Dinah's but having read a lot of the other reviews I wanted to make sure that mine is as informative and honest as possible. It's unfair if a small business like this gets bad reviews due to people's wrong expectations. Similarly, if you're really looking forward to cuddling with all the cats, you will be disappointed, which is also sad, so I hope my reviews helps a bit.

Staff are really friendly and very welcoming. The lady with the blue hair (sorry didn’t catch her name) was so lovely and walking around talking to the customers about the cats and what happens during the day. The afternoon tea was lovely and nice to see unlimited drinks too. Would highly recommend to friends or family. It’s something different!

It was an interesting and unusual experience. The cafe is a cat's and cat lover's paradise, with shelves and steps running along the walls for the cats to exercise and lots of hidey holes for them. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about their cats and happily volunteer information about each individual cat's likes and dislikes. The food is quite good. I expected a little more interaction with the cats, however, but many of them were asleep and were not to be disturbed, and the awake ones were very much as cats are naturally, blase about their surroundings. Still, my 9-year old loved it and managed to play and stroke the more alert ones.

Such a nice experience, I went with my friend for her birthday and we had a great time!!! The cats were perfect and fluffy, the food and drinks were delicious (and the drinks were named after the cats which was a nice touch!). Staff were all lovely and friendly too, you should definitely go here! All the cats were rescue cats <3
A. F.
A really interesting experience and a fun concept. The food and coffee was great and the service was amazing. I'll have to note you're not guaranteed to play with the cats as the cafe has numerous of visitors everyday and has to have some set rules for the cats' privacy, although you might be lucky and find a playful and cuddly cat while there. Absolutely worth a visit, although you should probably book in advance as it's a popular venue.

Loved it!! I had afternoon high tea and it was really good! Something that I noticed is that we must wash our hands before going in which I thought was very important for the cats and mostly cause were going to eat with our hands. Great job! Everything else was great! the staff and atmosphere amazing and the cats of course are lovely, will be returning as soon as possible!

Myself and 4 friends visited Lady Dinahs after dying to go there for years! :) a very cosy and wonderfully decorated cat cafe. Lovely treats and drinks available. Slightly pricy and the cats don’t really interact with you at all, they were all perched in the high tree decor, which was quite disappointing as you paid to spend some time with the cats after all but cats have a mind of their own after all! :) a lovely place to visit once but then move on

My friend and I had a lovely, relaxing time at Lady Dinah's in September 2016. We found the staff very friendly, and keen to provide us with information about the cats (their character, what their fav toys were, etc.). The food (we had a High Tea) was very nice, and the service was attentive and friendly. The cats all looked very happy, relaxed and healthy. The cafe seemed very orientated towards supporting the cats in being as happy as they could be and we were pleased to see the cats all so relaxed.

Grate visit today for my partner's birthday. We had afternoon tea and for an extra £10 each unlimited food and drinks. I also got him the gift pack which had a lovely mug and birthday card. The food was delicious and the range of drinks was unexpected. I thought it would be tea or coffee but there was a huge range of hot drinks as well as soft drinks. The staff were attentive and polite and most importantly the cats were adorable, if a little sleepy! Looking forward to coming back.

Had a lovely afternoon tea experience at the Cat Cafe. The cats looked so happy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They obviously cared very much for the cats and were keen that customers had a pleasant experience. Would recommend, especially for cat lovers.

Had High Tea as a treat for my Mom. Food was delicious, fab service and such a joy seeing all the cats who were all so friendly and fun to play with. Definitely recommend it to all cat lovers. Plus got doggy bag of the food we couldn't finish too.

Time for an update after more than 2 years... Lady Dinah´s has become a fixed agenda point whenever I´m in London, no matter how short the trip; it just ticks all the cat cafe boxes (and I have been to quite a few cat cafes in various countries) with the cats´ happiness and well-being always coming first, absolutely lovely staff, us customers getting to play with the cats, have cuddles (even the odd lap time!) or just admire them during a snooze and generally being able to unwind and relax. Some reviews are a little baffling as it´s hardly the cafe´s fault if you don´t book ahead when it´s recommended everywhere and just show up on a fully booked day, cats sleep at least 16 hours a day and also have their own personalities so of course they´re not always up and ready to entertain every new person that comes in and the rules are absolutely necessary considering how many people frequent their home on a near-daily basis.
Love the cafe, love the cats, always looking forward to visiting. :)

Amazing experience, staff fantastic! Cats beautiful! Would definately recommend 🙂

A great experience at Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium last week. We weren't exactly sure of what to expect but the food was tasty (loved the fact that bagels were on the menu, harking back to the area's Jewish roots), the staff were friendly and well trained and the cats were... present. Going in it's easy to forget that cats are cats are cats. By this I mean don't expect them to be putting on a show, or simply there for your entertainment. Cats are indifferent at best, and these cats, like all cats, although very adorable are just the same as your own, or your neighbour's cats. They sleep, they walk around a bit, they yawn and roll there eyes. Although one did start running on a giant hamster wheel (cat wheel) which was pretty awesome!
The decor was very sweet, all furnished in the style of a real cat lover's frontroom with cat regalia everywhere of course. In fact it was just like being at my Nan's house, albeit a more stylish, less cluttered version. there was a very personal, relaxed atmosphere, and time seemed to move at a different speed; an hour passed and we hardly noticed.
Cat lovers will adore this experience as long as they remember that cats are not really born entertainers!

We came here last week, we was greeted by friendly staff, taken through and shown our seats, there are two lovely decorated floors.
the food was great we had tea, latte cream scone and cake, there are 12 cats they wonder around both floors, so relaxed, friendly and loving,
the only little moan I have is that it took ages for someone to come to our table and take our order but maybe we could have been more assertive.
Also, I am not sure if any are available, I didn't see but it would be nice to be able to buy treats for the cats to feed, we did get given a couple of shrimp treats by a lady at one point but it would be nice to be able to buy some and feed them at our own will
if you are a cat lover like me, this is a wonderful experience, we had to book 3 months in advance, and going to book again soon, well worth it!! thanks :0)

I had afternoon tea here with my wife and two friends. We were seated in the downstairs area of the cafe.
The afternoon tea was nice. A good selection of sandwiches and cakes. The scones were really nice and probably one of my favourite bits of the tea. It was nice that there was unlimited supply of drinks.
The tea was nice but as it was a bit warm downstairs, even in November, we soon switched to cold drinks rather than hot drinks.
The cats were playful and they all seemed chilled out with their surroundings and people being about.
We got the chance to stroke them and play with the ones that were playful.
It was a good visit and I enjoyed it. I am not sure if I would do it again but as a one off it was good.
I. O.
Lovely food, really friendly and helpful staff and GORGEOUS cats! Only one toilet, so go before you arrive!
R.
Perfect place to go for any cat fanatic. Staff are clean and courteous. Lovely theming and delicious high tea.
Shame that some guests ruin it for others by going against the rules. I.e Approaching a cat in a group or touching a cat when it's sleeping.
I love that the cats are rescued and put up for adopted when they retire.
L. Z.
The staff is wonderful and the tea is fine; the decor is exceptional. However, the cats are moggies (except Wookie, who never came down from his perch the hour and a half I was there), and not very loving. There was also a guest (who was friends with the staff? A frequent visitor?) who scolded some other guests for a behavior I didn't think was egregious - the real staff would do well to tell her to not act in such a capacity.
E. D.
I loved this cafe' and its relaxing atmosphere. The cats are lovely and they look like they really enjoy the environment. The staff was really friendly too. I visited the cafe for lunch and we ordered a salad and a bagel + pumpkin loaf and red velvet cake + white tea and coffee..everything was delicious and affordable. We will definitely visit Lady Dinah's again, we had such a lovely time.
L. B.
I had a perfectly pleasant afternoon enjoying tea, cake and the company of some lovely cats. The cats do their thing, which is to sleep, eat, groom and walk around. They don't seem terribly interested in the visitors but this is typical cat behaviour! They appear to be very well looked after and the cafe setting is cosy. Staff are helpful and friendly and we enjoyed some delicious cakes. If you have a cat crazy friend, a visit here would make a lovely birthday present!
k.
First visit to the East End. Fabulous cafe, the high tea was lovely...sandwiches, scones, cakes and drinks and as much as you want. Had treated my friend as it was her birthday so she had a pressie, a card from the cats and a cupcake birthday cake. To top it off was the highlight...the cats. So pampered and with their own staff (of course). Really well set up to pamper the cats and to service their every need. Recommend highly.
J. M.
We had an amazing afternoon tea there! Don't expect the cats to be awake and come to you, that's just cats and we're strangers so they won't jump on our lap, the cats are lovely though and the girl who looks after them knows them so well. Really nice atmosphere.

I visited Lady Dinah's during the evening session (9-11PM), and had a great experience. My friend and I were seated downstairs, and were able to interact with a number of the cats, stroking and playing with them. This was particularly thanks to a helpful waitress, who told us which toys each individual cat enjoyed playing with and whether and where they liked to be touched. There was also a selection of games and books provided to entertain guests who were not interacting with the cats.
However, we did feel lucky to have visited during the evening session, as the cats became more lively after they had been fed at 10PM, and many of the other guests left partway through the session, giving us more opportunities to interact with the cats. I feel that the experience may have been more of a disappointment had this not been the case, particularly if you expected to hold the cats as this was not allowed.
M. B.
Wife and I booked a visit here while in London on Holiday. Beautiful set-up for the cats, who were totally charming. The staff was kind and obviously cared deeply about the cats. Very interactive. While not a reason for our visit, their desserts were terrific, too!
F. B.
Location is great with lots of options to get there. Quite a small place, they have 14 cats. We saw about 8 as some were sleeping at the back of various stairs and walls. Shame it was a really hot day so the cats basically slept the whole time we were there. The owner was very nice and talked us about the cats in detail. Would recommend however you may not see much movement!
F. L.
I went back in the summer to this cafe and I am re-visiting today!
I am also hoping to visit it next year as well.
Staff:
The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. They were very clear about what to expect and what not to do with the cats. I was fine with giving them a £5 cover charge, as it helps with the cats well-being. The staff were knowledgeable about each cat there and were happy to give out information to one of the costumers that didn't know/want to know. I had a very enjoyable time speaking to one of the staff about my two cats at home and allowed us to give some of the cats a treat!
Food:
I ordered a hot chocolate and a chocolate cake which were lovely. The hot chocolate had a cat face design in it, which I found very cute. The cake was nice and rich and filled me up for my two hour visit. (The visits are now 90 minutes) I would like to point out, some people may find the cake too rich, but I am normally okay with eating rich cakes and treats. They have a range of cakes and sweets to pick from and a fitting drinks menu that covered most needs. The food is a bit pricey, but the quality is worth the price.
Place:
The place has a range of seats and tables to chose from. We were on the bottom floor, which had tables, chairs and sofas. There was a fancy atmosphere to the place and the cafe overall was kept clean and tidy. The place had suitable hiding places for the cats, as well as places that costumers could walk over to and spend time with the cats. As they only let a certain number of people in at a time, you won't be feeling overcrowded and find it easy to freely move about to change seats or just to find a cat.
Cats:
They are 10 cats in the cafe and they are all very friendly. When we arrived most of the cats were asleep and a few were at the cafe window having a nose around the street. After having our drinks and cakes, some of the cats were wondering around and were comfortable with us approaching them and giving stokes. The cats are used to human contact and approached us and allowed us to brush their fur. All the cats had soft, shining fur and were at healthy weight. They're plenty of toys in the cafe, which you are free to pick up and interact with the cats with. The cats are very cute and energetic when playing and are not camera shy! These cats are free to do what cats do and seem happy with their lifestyle.
What to expect:
Cats sleep for the majority of the day, so I recommend visiting the cafe during the evening, when cats become more active. You have to expect some of cats will be asleep for your whole visit and others won't. Some of the cats might not want to play with their toys, so will show no interest in playing with you, however this may change over your visit. Cats are curious, so don't be alarmed if you see one trying to get out of the cafe, this is natural cat behaviour. As cats use their nose much more then we do, as you approach a cat, stick out your hand (or make a fist) and let the cat smell you before giving it a stroke, this lets the cat know who you are and makes them more comfortable with your presence. You have to remember, cats are very free with their nature and will do as they please, so when they let you stroke them or approach you, you will know that is what they want to do!
N. Q.
Overall a disappointing experience. The food was mediocre and rather than a selection of sandwiches there were two filled mini rolls per person which were borderline stale. You can't split a menu selection either. My wife is vegetarian, I am not but we could have either the vegetarian option or the meat version. At £25 a head just a bit on the expensive side.
A big plus were the staff who were friendly and attentive to both customers and cats. Also drinks are unlimited and the selection of teas is impressive for a small cafe.
Lots of cats as you would expect so not a complete waste of time.
S. D.
The cats are first priority and I loved that. It's a really chilled experience, it's not over crowded at all so the cats aren't overwhelmed. The staff on hand know all the cats so well and you can see the love they have for them! An unbelivable place definately worth a visit!❤❤
T. T.
Really enjoyed our high tea... food was good and a lot!! we had to take some home =
The cats were mostly asleep when we were there, but some, like Alice, was awake and playful and demanded cuddles. Great way to enjoy the company of cats, good for those wanting to see if having a cat suits them...
J. D.
1st time at a cat cafe and it was a wonderful experience! Staff is very knowledgeable about the cats and will help you interact with them! The cats are adorable and well taken care of. The cattucino and the mozzarella, tomato, and basil salad was excellent! I definitely recommend to all cat and coffee lovers!!
R. V.
I visited the place a few weeks back and had a nice time playing around with the kittens. If you are a cat lover and unfortunately cannot adopt one of your own, it is definitely the place to go. The felines are lovely, the decoration is great as well and the animals' needs are always put on priority (you cannot pick them up or be too insistent if they don't want to play).
L. L.
What a great place to visit! If you need a cat fix, this is the place for you. Reserve in advance so you have time to leisurely enjoy the space and the cats. We even got to see Victor, a 3-month old rescue and potential shop cat, while we were there. He as absolutely adorable. The food is good as well.
If you have friends who are hesitant to join you because they're worried about cats and what goes along with indoor cats in a place where food is served, I can assure you they'd never know so many cats lived in this place by the aroma. It just smells like food!
L. P.
My sister and I Iove cats so treated ourselves to a trip here. Had a lovely time seeing and interacting with the cats. Had afternoon tea and the food and drinks were lovely. Staff wonderful and really friendly. Obviously loved the cats! Will be back!
j. b.
Was super impressed from start to finish.
Food was great, drinks were well made and the staff were amazing too, we were served by Josh and he really went above and beyond for us.
A lot of care and consideration has been put into this place and it's definitely worth a visit.
Highly recommend
S. P.
Had a fun afternoon here. Decor is very unique and like a kitty Alice in wonderland. Staff were all lovely and engaging. I like that they are all rescue cats. Had a bagel and coffee which was ok but not amazing. You don't come for the food though obviously. Can't disturb the cats too much and they didn't really care too much about us. But what do you expect, they're cats!
v. H.
I took my sister and 15yr old daughter to Lady Dinah's, and we had a lovely time ! It's so quirky and not the sort of thing you'd expect to see in that part of town, looks can be deceiving. The staff were friendly, and very informative and clearly knew a lot about their cats and their even quirkier personalities !! They're rescue cats, very well loved and looked after too. The whole set up was fab, from the way the food was presented to the décor - especially downstairs where we were sat. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at all, there was plenty to eat and plenty of options for drinks which were refillable. Though the savoury side of options wasn't really our sort of thing, not a criticism - just not for us. Scones, cream and jam delish, and the little lemon cakes we had were yum !! We had the High Tea, I think if we went again then I would opt for the Cats & Cuppa option. The day we went there were fewer cats than expected, and quite a few were sleeping or grooming and not to be disturbed of course. You can't predict these things, so don't be disappointed or moan if the cats aren't in high jinx moods - it is what it is, they're not performers ….. and after all remember you are guests in their home ! None the less we were fortunate to have a few that we could stroke, pet and feed ( with their own food of course ! ) and that was fab, they're all so cute, especially Donny who loves lying under bubble wrap & prefers to be patted on the back rather than stroked !! He's definitely a character !! All in all a pleasant afternoon out, and even if you do it just the once to tick it off your list of quirky things to do then it's worth it.
Z. M.
Me and my cat-loving neice had a really great afternoon. Lots of lovely cats to play with, nice tea, friendly and helpful staff made this a great experience. We will be back!
R. H.
The best cat café in London! Love the cats and the staff who obviously adore them!
H. S. L.
A great cause, as the cats are adopted frequently. I feel like they should move to a new place as the shop is a little small, especially for so many cats with customers on top. Preferably somewhere with better ventilation as well since I'm sure not everyone enjoys the 'cat odours' whilst eating/drinking.
N. D.
Lady Dinah’s was just amazing! A lovely place, delicious food with our tea, and, most importantly, adorable kitties who are clearly well loved and comfortable in what is their home. It meant a lot to my party that the rescue kitties were so well looked after by everyone. Thank you! We would definitely come again.
A. P.
Very nice but hardly any cats about as they were all hidden and sleeping. The tea was pleasant and the staff extremely friendly. All round a good afternoon but would of liked to have more interaction with the cats.
V. W.
Delightful visit, staff were very friendly, knowledgable and caring about the cats. Inevitably, most of the cats were sleeping for much of the time so the few that were awake had lots of humans keen to interact. Afternoon tea was pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
K. C.
Such a fantastic experience! The cats are beautiful and clearly so well loved and cared for, the staff were really friendly and happy to chat about the cats and to top it all the afternoon tea was so tasty! I went as a birthday present and we both really enjoyed our visit there, thank you lady Dinah's for a wonderful day!
I. S.
I would say that if I were to consider my most recent time there as a one-off visit, I would be seriously disappointed. The staff ignored my request for cake. The hot chocolate was delicious and my time there was aided by the company of all the cute cats. Other times I've been there were with friends so maybe it's just that I didn't pay as much attention to service but Lady Dinah's afternoon tea is nice. Definitely a place to visit for sole novelty.
M.
Just went to Lady Dinah’s the second time this year and I don’t even live in Britain so that should tell you all you need to know.. But really it’s a great spot all the cats are absolutely adorable and ridiculously soft and the staff are really friendly and will tell you all the lil quirks of each and every cat if you ask them. Good selection of drinks and the food we got with our high tea was pretty darn good too!
J. A.
Let me start this review by saying that I am allergic to cats. Well technically cat saliva. But I love them nonetheless. Dosed up on Piriton, I arrived at Lady Dinah's with mixed feelings about whether an establishment such as this was appropriate to meet the welfare needs of these animals. But as I was taken through to my seat, I soon realised that these felines lead a better life than I do. The cats were clearly very well cared for and adored by the staff who doted on their every need. I had a late booking so the cats seemed a bit sick of the attention and kept to themselves meaning I didn't get to fuss any, but I was content just being around them. The staff were attentive and a colourful cast of characters themselves. And importantly, for an establishment that blends cats and cakes (not literally that would be horrible), it was completely spotless. It was so clean I didn't sneeze once.
EDIT: In my cat-frenzy, I forgot to mention the food was really good too. Those salted caramel brownies are to die for. Especially if dying means I get to be reincarnated as a cat and can come live here.
R. J.
Having been gifted a VIP card I was really excited to visit Lady Dinah's, however I was left feeling somewhat disappointed after my visit. We were given the small table in the corner which was fine, however it was right next to the door where the cats were not allowed, so they were often ushered away from us. We understood there was a 'what to expect' section on the website, and as cat owners ourselves we know how much they like to sleep, however we were quite surprised to only see 2-3 cats downstairs, all of whom were asleep the vast majority of the time. The food was nice however it was disappointing that we had to remind them, after they had given us the bill, to give us 10% off (as a VIP). Wouldn't rush back in a hurry.
S. G.
The place is super clean, cute and well decorated, like the world of Alice in Wonderland. The staff is really nice and friendly, the teas are delicious and the cats are lovely and are really well maintained and treated. We had lots of fun there, will be coming back for sure!!!
E.
i had an amazing time there. the food is great and the cats are friendly and adorable. the cafe is also beautiful and all the staff where friendly. also ,despite what some people may think, it was very hygienic even being full of cats .
A. T.
The place is overall nice, and it's refreshing to see that they value their cats so much. The reasons for removing one star are: because cats are everywhere, it gets a bit smelly, and, unfortunately, there are long waiting times for a table, with a strong possibility of completely getting ignored by the cats (and therefore being disappointed).
J. M.
Can you imagine rating a cat cafè low because you couldn’t bring your own cat? It’s like rating Nando’s low because you couldn’t bring your own food!
anyway I loved coming here all the staff are really friendly and try to get the cats to interact the best they can, you can tell all the cats are very loved there! I loved peter I wanted to take him home 😢
But yeah if you want to have a cake with your cat do it at home this is not a dog park!
H. A.
I visited here with my dad and great aunt and it was a lovely place! At the time there were 10 cats and they were very well looked after. The cats there were doing what they do best, if they wanted to be made a fuss of they would come to you, but if they didn't they just did their own thing. The food there was lovely, more than enough and we came away fully stuffed! The staff were very professional and answered any questions we had. It's a lovely place to have a nice lunch, you do have to wash your hands before entering the emporium which is totally understandable as its looking after the welfare of the cats. Very good value for money, we got to try different teas that I never tried before and they aren't tea bags, it's real leaf tea which is great! Will definitely be going back!
E.
Amazing place! Loved the unique interior design of the cafe, it's absolutely stunning!
The staff were all lovely and of course the cats were too (watching Lizzie running in her wheel was a real highlight!)
Really enjoyed our time here - it was a great start to our day in London and I would definitely love to come back sometime!
G. P.
Cats cats and more cats!!
Essential for any cat lover! You're free to stroke and play with the cats, but there are some rules such as not interrupting them if they're sleeping or grooming etc.
The staff are also super friendly and know all about the cats, so feel free to ask away!
C. B.
This cat paradise is such a lovely calm relaxing place to visit. The staff are obviously very dedicated and welcoming, the food is great. The cats are in charge & have a wonderful pampered life. Strongly recommended to cat lovers.
R. W.
Absolutely loved every second of the experience. The high tea was superb, great selection of drinks, the food was absolutely delicious (especially the scones!) and the kitty cuddles and strokes were wonderfully soothing. To top it all off the staff were lovely and friendly. Highly recommended.

I enthused about the cat cafe for a long time, but I'm no longer sure it's such a good idea. Lady Dinah's takes excellent care of its cats and they have a great environment to live in. You can tell because they're all very relaxed. That said, however, perhaps a cat cafe isn't such a good business idea. The cats aren't really interested in all the strangers that come and go - and if you're a real cat lover, you know to let a cat come to you not get all up in their business. As a result I left Lady Dinah's feing a little underwhelmed, and more like perhaps I should adopt a cat if I want to spend some quality time with a cat. The food was nice and the cats are lovely but it felt a lot like you should expect to watch the cats rather than cuddle with them.

Had a lovely surprise birthday tea here today with my daughter. Lovely friendly staff , beautiful well looked after cats in a really clean atmosphere. Food excellent. Many thanks. Just it's a pity its so far away from us x

Absolutely amazing experience!! The cats and staff are both friendly and love their tummies being rubbed.
If you're in two minds whether or not to go, PLEASE GO! Amazing place and food!
Thank you for having us!

We had the hi tea. I have to say it was lovely. Not one of the best I've had but the food was fresh and lovely and just the right amount for 2 people which was a bonus . The cats were well looked after but the time we went they needed their sleep (well don't we all !). It was a lovely experience in a lovely place with cats.

Do you like cats?✔️
Do you like afternoon tea?✔️
Do you want to do something different?✔️
Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium is situated on Bethnal Green Road, but only a 15 min walk from Aldgate East or Liverpool Street Stations. Your 90 minute afternoon tea slot has to be booked in advance and offers the ailurophile a perfect experience!
The staff have the routine down to a fine art! Your email confirmation sets out the (all too sensible) ground rules, to ensure that clients have a good time, but, more importantly, that the cats are safe and free from stress! On arrival, a host reiterates the rules and then you are escorted to your table. The two rooms (over two floors) accommodate around 8 people each, giving space to enjoy the tea but also to walk round to have closer interaction with the feline residents!
Tea (including your choice of unlimited hot drinks, plus, if you’ve preordered, prosecco) arrives on a tiered stand and includes homemade rolls; savoury muffins; sweet scones with jam and cream; cakes, biscuits and macarons! There is more than enough for two (the lovely staff are happy to pack up any leftovers for you to take home!) and I must say that the quality was very high!
Once everyone starts to eat, the cats feel more confident in displaying their climbing skills! Both rooms have an amazing range of cat activity centres; beds; toys and climbing equipment! Make sure you spend time in each room!
Each cat has its own personality and the staff know each cat’s traits. It’s so good to hear tales about each cat and to discuss feline idiosyncrasies with people who are as passionate about them as you are!
All too soon, the 90mins is over, but the staff give plenty of warning so you can say your goodbyes. A small selection of merchandise is available, but I would say the best momento is to return! A fabulous place!

My family and I had a lovely time. It was very well organised and a really calming setting. Which was a great comfort to us after having to put our beloved dog to sleep less than a week earlier. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and all the cars were beautiful. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Cats cats cats! We had afternoon tea with the cats. Drinks are all cat themed (super cute names like catte or mochat) and delightful finger sandwiches, pastries and goodies. The staff here are super friendly and will entertain you and the cats during your visit.
L. P.
If you come here with the strict focus of petting the cats note that you need to time the visit away from the cats' resting times. However if you're you're happy to enjoy a catch up with friends with the potential of a cat trundling over then it's great.
the staff are very enthusiastic and have a genuine care for the cats knowing all the personalities.

A wonderful café and cat lovers' paradise in the heart of London. Delicious teas and food (vegan and glute-free options available) and very friendly staff. The cats are gorgeous, each with its own character. They are well cared for. A place I'd definitely recommend!

If you love cats then you'll adore this place... on top of that, the food and drinks and cakes served are fantastic.. really decadent and great quality... the cats are adorable...

Had a great time having afternoon tea with the cats! It all has a very relaxed feel with lovely, friendly staff. I think you have to love cats so that you understand that they come first. Definitely recommended!

Albeit a bit skeptical, the cat emporium was a fantastic experience. Kind and caring staff, great choice of pastries and drinks. The cats plus the relaxed atmosphere made this trip much more relaxing than I expected it to be. Definitely thinking about another visit.
PS - Biscuit the cat is love and life.

we went for a birthday lunch and it was a wonderful experience, cakes were very tasty and was lovely just watching the cats do their own thing! staff were extremely friendly and knew all about the cats! loved all the cats! Highly recommend

What a great idea! Great cause helping under-privileged cats find a decent home - either as permanent residents or rehoming if that's a better option. Not catering for too many people on either floor and the 13 cats have plenty of room to doze, play and schmooze. Good to have rules about handling. Staff friendly and informative. Great food too.
H. K.
Such lovely employees, you can tell they care a lot about the cats and shared small facts with us regarding the cats. The food is very well presented and lovely!
J. B.
It's okay for a cat cafe. Lots of black and white cats. The scones looked okay but are a little expensive. I like my ice mocha. The cat to person ratio is a little too low for my liking. Keep your expectations in check before you come, it's very unlikely you'll get to pet a single cat.

It was my first time in a Cat Cafe and I could not have chosen any better. Nice place and friendly staff. The kitties are so lovely and cute!!! Alice and Lizzie ( two pretty tuxedos) were in charge of entertaining the audience playing and wheel-running :-) Just adorable! If you visit London, this is for sure a must-go.

Suprised my nieces for their Eid present to a morning at Lady Dinahs. From the moment you walk in staff are amazingly welcoming and friendly and make you feel very comfortable.
We were shown to a cute table in the basement which was such beautiful decor I was mesmerised. The bonus was all the cats in their sleeping bunks here and there and there box of toys.
We ordered the scone, blueberry muffin and signature cupcake all of which were so tasty. After our treat we went around to see the cats which was alot of fun, getting to know each one.
I would highly recommend coming here, I am already booking my next visit this time for high tea.
Such lovely staff and cute cats, a lovely way to spend part of your day.
Thank you all xx

The downstairs area was extremely cute and staff were very friendly. Loved the cat sprinkles on the hot drink! However cats did sleep a lot so do not expect them to approach.
C. A.
Visited today and absolutely loved it! Everyone there is super friendly and the cats are adorable! Was such a calm and relaxing environment. My daughter suffers from anxiety and chronic fatigue syndrome so it was the perfect place for her! Would definitely recommend and would visit again🐱
K. H.
This place is awesome. Wookie is the fattest cat ever! He likes being treated like a bongo. The downstairs has a lot of character. Unlike most animal cafes the prices here were on par with regular unthemed cafes. Food and drinks were good. Cats friendly. Try to go early before the cats get all peopled out.
E.
Unique and welcoming. A place for anyone that loves cats.
k. F.
We had the best time ever!!! ,the cats are adorable and so friendly and so are the staff, afternoon tea was fantastic and the experience is worth much more than they charge,we will now be regular visitors and recommend to all our friends and family, everyone who is a cat lover must visit.
L. G.
Fabulous place , great people , great food ,beautiful cats. My friends were concerned re the hygeine/smell but this place is spotless and is cleaner than a lot of "Non animal" restaurants/cafes. Downstairs is so pretty and the cats are treated like royalty. Staff are so nice and polite and cant do enough for you, great experience Thank you

I love cats and I love cake, so needless to say I was more than a little excited about the opening of London's first cat cafe.
Although I only popped in for a quick meeting,
I was fortunate enough to have a quick chat with the owner and it's clear that the welfare of the cats is paramount here (as it should be). The cats are generally friendly and used to humans. However they are animals, not toys and have their own minds. It's reassuring to see that their needs are considered and they're not just props for humans to harass all day.
J. F.
We had a fantastic time. The downstairs is so quirky its just a pleasure. The staff were amazing and were happy to share the life of the cats with you. Would recommend a visit. We have done already to friends who have booked to go.
C. H.
Had a fantastic afternoon tea, staff were very friendly and happy to tell us all about the cats. Really nice way to spend an afternoon.
S. R.
We had the most amazing time with the cats and the cat care takers. It's so wonderful to see how much the rescue cats are cared for. 90 minutes flew by. Would definitely visit again. Thank you for a great time! ✨
R. K.
I love cats, so I instantly booked table at this cafe. The food is ok, but cats are very timid and the cafe smells bad (which makes you lose your appetite a bit). The atmosphere is a bit tense, maybe because customers treat cats the way they're not supposed to and staff gets irritated. Great to go and see it, but I wouldn't come back.
T. J.
Had a lovely time with the cats and kittens! Really enjoyed the whole experience and staff were really friendly.
S. R.
Very cute cafe - cats seem very well fed and looked after, if a bit sick of all the constant human attention! Food was great (warm chocolate brownie with salted caramel - yum!) but if you're expecting the cats to be all over you you will probably leave disappointed. Still an enjoyable way to spend 90 minutes!
N. R.
I love the way operations have been arranged to accommodate the sensibilities of the cats. cats are very sociable creatures but they also love to be in control of their environment and their best qualities shine through when allowed some space and dignity. Lady Dinah and her team have achieved this spectacularly an the food's good too. Thank you for a lovely Afternoon Tea experience.
S. P.
The cats seemed really happy and had areas they could go when they didn't want any attention and the staff knew each and every cats characteristics which makes you think they really care for them. They keep a close eye all the time to make sure no one is treating them incorrectly but at the same time it doesn't feel like you're being watched/monitored. Also have vegan options readily available!

Cats are cute, playful and happy. Staff are also very nice.
Food is good too.
J. P.
A great idea but on the day we went we didn't see many cats. The food was good quality but very over priced plus there was only one of each cake so if you want to try everything you had to cut them in half so a tiny mouthful each. It was something different but sadly we wouldn't go back.
M. D.
It is a lovely place, the staffs there are very nice and patient. There are 13 cats there, they all look calm and healthy. You can stroke them and play with them. I’d like to visit again with my friend, but it is hard to book a weekend time slot as the cafe is so popular.
L. H.
We went here (family of four) for my husband's 60th birthday as part of a day out in London. My son has long wanted to go so he told me about it. We had a great time and ate a lot too! Nice food (lunch or tea rather than dinner) and lovely staff and of course the cats are adorable (we have two of our own). The booking system works well and their 1.5 hour session is about right though it goes quickly.
Well recommended

5 stars for cats. 4 stars for staff, who were great in all things cat, and were rather friendly to the humans too. 3 stars for food. The food is a side show here, it's not what people come for - and it's no worse than in a lot of other cafes. The tea was proper leaf tea in a proper pot, brought with pretty vintage cups. While some cat cafes have recently been criticised for poor animal care, Lady Dinah's really is cool for cats.

The cats were gorgeous, but there were only a few of them & they arent very friendly. Probably because they're properly fed & taken care of. Only 1-2 of them are playful, most of the cats just minding their own business. U cant pick em up, so there's really nothing much u can do. Food were delicious (salted caramel brownie). Iced catte not good. Service was okay tho there's this one black woman who purposely put us on a really hard chair when there were so many empty sofas. When we moved, she bring us back to our original seats. We paid the same price as whoever arrives late. They should let the early guests to sit wherever they want. One of the staff were very friendly & helpful, she tought us how to play with the cats. There's upper level & lower level, i was only in the upper level. Hygiene very good, there no smell (arrived at 10 am).

Really enjoyed my time at Lady Dinah's. The food was lovely and of course the cats were a delight! It was obvious they were all so well cared for and they had plenty to keep them entertained! I'll definitely be going back. It was a lovely way to spend a rainy day in London

We had the loveliest time today! Friendly staff, a fabulous afternoon tea and happy, beautiful, relaxed cats. The cat emporium has a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere - my three boys and I loved it. Lady Dinah's is a fantastic experience and I'd recommend a visit to anyone who adores feline friends.
S. T.
High tea with cats - something every cat-lover should try! The cafe offers a wonderful selection of teas, cakes and treats, including a full range of vegan options. I would recommend booking a table in the cosy downstairs area, which is decorated like a woodland grotto with a huge 'tree' that the cats can climb in and around. The cats clearly get a lot of attention, and seem to take a laissez-faire attitude to the whole thing (meaning it can be difficult to maintain their attention), but it's such a joy to see them free to play and relax in such a cat-friendly environment. Lovely place!
G. W.
A bit disappointing. We were seated upstairs and saw maybe four cats - presumably the rest of them were downstairs.
Not really sure what I expected in hindsight, but it was a very surreal experience - people vying for nonchalant cats' attention and affection. The cats weren't particularly social and seemed to want to get away from the people pawing (pardon the pun) at them - can't say I blame them.
The tea and and scones, however, were very nice, and the staff certainly seemed to take good care of their feline business partners.

What a special place. The afternoon tea was superb. So much that we took some home. The cats are lovely and so welll cared for. Service was great and all the staff seemed to love the cats. Will definitely be visiting again

Lovely place! We didn't realise we needed to book in advance, but they were able to fit us in as walk-ins. The speciality coffees (each named for one of the cats!) all sounded amazing and the ones we tried were lovely. The lady looking after the cats was chatty and friendly and great at putting both guests and cats at ease - altogether a fun place to visit!
R. P.
The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing. The downstairs area really showcased the theme of Alice in Wonderland. There are a number of cats, so it is likely that a few will be active while there. The staff were friendly and attentive.

After over 2 months of waiting for our booking we have finally visited The Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium. And what an amazing experience that was!
All the cats are absolutely adorable. Romeo was full of beans that evening and entertained us throughout our visit :)
The staff was enthusiastic, knowledgeable & friendly. My cream tea with scoans, clotted cream and strawberry jam was full of flavors and top quality. They serve loose tea in tea-pots & gorgeous China cups. They've got an amazing selection of teas to chose from, and being a tea-lover, this made me very happy :)
I loved the elegant and charming atmosphere of the place. The design of the cafe is very well thought through, providing comfortable sitting area for the guests and cleverly combining it with everything that local residents (the kitties) need to feel happy and looked after :)
I will highly recommend this place to all my friends, and I'm sure it won't be too long till I'm back here again.

Took my daughter here for her birthday and she loved it!

All the hullabaloo about the place being booked out until October 2014 when London's first "Cat Café" opened seemed to be a bit of a marketing gimmick when I visited. Yes, the cats were cute. Yes, there were ladies of various ages and sizes doting on the cats whilst their nonchalant partners sat with vacant expressions. Yes, the beverages on offer were very nice and surprisingly very very cheap (£2.4 for the "Premium Hot Chocolate" - go figure!). But the cats were being themselves and didn't care about us puny humans - maybe we got into the wrong session (we did a walk-in), or maybe we should have gone equipped with a laser pointer. Worth a visit if you like cats. I have come to realize that I'm a dog person anyway.

I came for ‘Tea and Cats’ for my birthday and had a wonderful time. The cats did not disappoint - Lizzie was on fine form running in her ‘cat wheel’ and Dorian made us laugh by hyjacking a stranger’s coat. The cat carers are very knowledgable and have time for everyone and the food is great. Thoroughly recommend!

Amazing place for cat lovers. Evan has gluten free options!
J. H.
Love it, but....
Very cute place, amazing and professional waiters, beyond adorable cats, nice and interesting booklet with the cats information....
BUT, even though we had to book in a more than a month before it was empty; the decoration was cute but extremely cheap; most of the pstries and water bottles were sold out and the coffe machine wasn’t working, thereforce we didn’t actually had our 2free drinks and didn’t get any courtesy discount or anything like it.
A part of that, I like it but not enough to come back.

A delightful experience with incredible, attentive and friendly staff. Lovely cats. Very sensible covid policies and a wide range of vegan choices 10/10 experience!

Great food and lovely cats. The staff were really accommodating with my peanut allergy and I really enjoyed my time there. Would recommend for any cat-lovers!
A. N.
I must say I've got mixed feelings about this one. Took me a while to get here, and if it wasn't because I've lost our beloved cat 8 months ago and I miss having her around, I wouldn't go to such a place.
The positive: this place is nice & clean, service is efficient, seems like the cats are looked after & resident cats are as cats can be - adorable.
The negative:
1) There are 2 floors, ground floor & downstairs. We were led to sit on the ground floor which is not so nice to sit in as downstairs - it's lacking any ambiance, most of the cats are downstairs & there it's nicely decorated. Eventually we Insisted on getting a table downstairs and so we did.
2) Cats were lovely, unlike some of the customers - since the cats were sleeping (as cats do for most of the day) as we entered, some customers were nagging them to play by approaching them, touching them, using a cat toy trying to persuade them to play or even picking them up (although that's said to be unallowed, but nobody from the staff enforced it).
I know a cat cafe may sound like a good idea, on one hand you save rescue cats and you make people experience what it's like to be around cats, BUT, I can't stop thinking about these cats, and knowing from my experience as a cat owner of several cats - this doesn't seem to be the right environment for them. They don't go out, their nails seemed to be removed (what happens if & when they leave or run away?), most cats were young - so where were the previous cats? Cats need to occasionally eat grass & laze in the sun (vitamin d?) I don't know..felt a bit like I'm in a freak show..although it's a well-managed place, I'm not so sure I'll be back cause it didn't feel quite right to me.
So in general - I just realised I'm not in favour of cats cafes- not this one or any other, it's not natural for them & you can see they behave a bit weird so for me it's pretty much animal exploitation. It may sound harsh, it may not look like that at first & it's not directed to this specific cafe too. I'm granting this place 3 stars just because it seems that staff care about what they do and it does seems well manage, although as a business concept in general it deserve less stars.
If you want to be around cats - adopt one or even two.. you'll be a happier person, guaranteed.

Wow! What a fantastic quirky place for cat lovers to enjoy. A friend and I had an afternoon tea. Great quality with a lovely selection of delights, served by friendly happy and helpful staff, with the company of adorable cats running around. Cant wait to return.

We had a lovely afternoon celebrating my step daughters birthday with afternoon tea. The food was lovely and the atmosphere calm and very supportive of the cats that live there. Would recommend to anyone who cares about cats.

I went today with my friend after wanting to see for myself what a cat cafe would be like, and was pleasantly surprised! The cats are given plenty of comfy places to get out of reach of unwanted strokes but most of them woke up from their snoozes at some point in the 1h30 minutes I was there and played for a while. Having had my doubts about using cats as a gimmick to get punters in, I was relieved to see that they were treated with the utmost respect by staff - one cat was being closely monitored by a staff member as he'd been acting a little under the weather and the staff member patiently explained to us all what she was watching for, and told us other background information about the other cats. I was encouraged to let one of the cats sit on a plastic sheet and move it backwards and forwards, which the cat apparently loves, and given a (eye-safe) laser pointer to play with another cat. To everyone who expressed disappointment at the cats' disinterest, I would point out that that's what cats do! Every one of the cats seemed relaxed and content, which is pretty impressive considering the set up.
As to the food - also yummy! We had the cheese platter and then the lemon drizzle and chocolate and guiness cakes. At 6.30 pm we were gently reminded that our slot was up, but far from hustled out the door.

We were six of us, are all cat lovers and cat owners. So we expected lots of fun with the cats. The place is very pleasant and the staff very nice. but we were quite disappointed that most of the cats were asleep. The one or two that showed up were probably too tired to play and shied away from us. Perhaps the experience would have been better had we visited in the morning.

Fabulous afternoon tea made even more enjoyable by the great atmosphere
