Reviews of L’eau à La Bouche
D. J. M. L.
Cute and chill cafe with a great groceries and wines shop. Delicious latte and decaf and sandwiches like the Parisian. Great quiche and salads
G. F.
Absolutely love L'eau a la bouche.
They have amazing produces, from traditional French fish soup, fancy cheese, charcuterie and deli stuff. All around brilliant. A treat palace. Finally, I love how the staff are really patient with slightly convoluted orders (a tiny bit of that cheese and a little bit of that one too...).
Keep it up!
F. A.
If you are wondering around Broadway market after getting flowers in flower market this is the perfect place to get a break. Has an excellent capuccino and very nice pastry. The dish with a name of the place disappointed me a bit but maybe I was expecting too much on first place. Over all a pleasant experience. Recommended
O. H.
Very cute cafe/deli with some outside seating (that gets very busy during the market). The food is good, a mix of salads, pastries, cakes, quiche / flans and sandwiches (which you can have on different bread inc. gluten free). Coffee is good too! Nice pitstop location half way up the market.
W. W.
This has for years been one of my favourite cafe/deli in the area with a continental style selection/theme. Great food, good coffee and nice vibe. (Always super busy tho)
Must try.
J. L.
Pretty good spot for breakfast! Great selection of cheeses, cured meats and wine, and there's some great deli items that are rare to find elsewhere.
t.
So glad I found this place, been living in Morocco before and to find my favourite food so close to my work was just amazing! Great food, nice selection of organic product to buy in their little shop, fresh olives and salads are the bomb! Quite busy place so expect bit of a wait for your order. (on photo 2 salads with kofta minced meat)
D. M.
This is the best croque monsieur in London, easily! You can usually find a corner to squeeze in even at busy times. The deli counter has good cheeses and the fresh prepared food is a winner too. Wine selection includes several biodynamic and natural wines.
S. R.
Fun place with a nice atmosphere, very busy but pleasant nonetheless.
P. B.
A nice friendly cafe with lovely coffee and a beautifull salmon breakfast.
Broadway market is a very vibrant street well worth a visit.
J. H.
Love this little deli. Great French and Italian produce. Expensive but to be expected really and worth it as a treat. Coffee is good too and there is a good selection of pastries, sandwiches and snacks.
H. G.
Definitely must try! I think they have the best sandwiches 🤤 all the products are extremely high quality. Perfect spot at Broadway market
l. c.
Very friendly invirement good coffee and lovely food
S.
Selection of cheeses is good, but I'm not sure Emmental is supposed to look like this, although they sold different varieties so perhaps this is normal. Three stars until it's clarified.
L. S.
Nice place, convenient prices and great fresh food. I went to work from there, but unfortunately Wi-Fi is turned off from 1-2pm.
G. B.
The best place in Broadway Market, the stuff is really friendly especially Chahir, he makes the best Coffee and Julian the best soups and salads in Hackney. Love. G
S. J.
The best place by far in Broadway Market for coffee and a vast array of meat or cheese sandwiches or delicious croissants.
M. B.
In one of the busiest locations on the strip, this cafe and mini deli is sure to impress. The range of food caters for meat and/or veggie lovers and the coffee is great (second to climpson and sons down the road). The staff are friendly and efficient, though I went during a rainy weekday. Will be visiting again on the weekend to see if the excellent taste and service can be sustained during peak times!
C.
Used to live two streets away. Wish La Bouche had moved with me. The staff are always friendly. It's quite a tight fit, but that's because they've filled the space up with loads and loads of delicious goodies. Amazing selection of cheese and deli options, and I've always been happy with my wine selections from here. They're great with seasonal themes as well. It's difficult to get a table since it's usually buzzing, but that's my problem, not theirs. I would highly recommend.
E. R.
We love it here. They always have interesting wines and cheese and excellent produce. Their staff are friendly and give great wine recommendations. If you are looking for a boujie french deli - look no further.
M. K.
One of my fave cafes in East London. Amazing, amazing food, salads, quiches, with vegan options, they have vegan bread as well. Really fresh, nicely made food. Great cakes as well, the coffee is amazing. Very cozy, good size, a lot of very good French food products sold, also other organic products sold, such as raw honey bars locally sourced out of London. The only thing someone might be bothered by would be the waiters and the vibe being 'too cool and French to be too nice to you', but oh well, you can't have everything.
D. S.
Friendly staff. Can sit inside or outside. Specifically love this cafe on Saturdays when Broadway Market is running. Great variety of teas and coffee along with healthy food. Just sit back, relax and watch Hackney life, and after go for a quiet stroll through London Fields Park
H. N.
Perfect French shop. Coffee amazing, very tasty. I took a banana bread as well, was very very nice. We can take some products in a display, very large choice and just amazing.
P.s. : I have an Instagram account about london and food photographies. I enjoy to post the places where I like to eat so if you are interest and if you want some ideas, my Instagram is @hannae_nelly
J. E.
Really enjoyed the food. It was all very fresh and full of great flavour! The chocolate tart was very scrumptious - smooth and rich.
Both our mains were very nice. Nice vibe and atmosphere. Busy little place but didn't feel crowded. Will be back for sure!
L. C.
Ok, it's expensive. But it is LUSH. The staff are great, the coffee is great and basically anything you buy from here will be good. Had my first post-lockdown flat white here and it was a great experience. Keep trucking guys!
N. L.
Can't recommend this little deli enough. It's been my godsend during lockdown, lovely staff, great selection of cheeses amongst other things!
C. M.
We really enjoyed lunch here, great food and coffee. And the server, a tall londoner was very nice, as was the guy who brought the food over. For London, it's not expensive. Only tiny note-the ciabatta roll was a bit under-fired. Will 100% go back. (We visited on 14th of July)
J. P.
One of the very best cafes in all of London. Perfect, beautiful decoration. A hive of activity. The espresso is the best in the city I have found - such a fruity taste. The pies/quiches with house salads are incredible - rustic and hearty portions. On a weekend it can be a challenge to get a table, but if one does it's a hell of a prize. Simply fantastic. A must-go.
M. L.
Spent the most part of my Londonner time in this lovely French boutique. The owner had opened it 17 years ago in this lovely Broadway Market Street before it became an hipster suburb. If you want to buy some products like cheese or ham, the lovely staff will always be happy to recommend you the best products and make you try new flavors...
U. Z. S.
Super nice vibe..
F. G.
I loved this place! It's a cafe with a decidedly bohemian feel to it. I was a bit hesitant to try it because most cafes doing sandwiches don't normally have tasty #vegan options. This place did, though. The Cosmic sandwich is generously proportioned with hummus, harissa, olives and sundried tomatoes. Really delicious. Your choice of fresh, crusty bread, too. On a caffeine note, I struggle with coffee in London - often it's not good, but here it is. I'll be back.
J. R. K.
Avocado on toast here is amazing! The man serving me paid very careful attention to my food allergy too. Great service!
A. I.
Amazing little French Cafe. Great Sandwiches and salads. Inside they serve delicacies like different cheeses, olives and other packaged imports from France. I want to buy the Fish Soup from Marseille next time. Very cozy and cute ambiance.
J. W.
Great selection of cheeses at a reasonable price! Good coffee and snacks too. However, it gets really crowded at the weekend and some of the shop assistants do not know much about the cheese they are selling.
R. G.
Can get busy and really cramped a drawback. Nice choice of healthy eating foods, plus Italian ham and cheeses available not to mention savouries and sweets. Sitting outside on Broadway Market nice, but it's odds on you'll get pestered by usual beggars that do the rounds.
D. M.
Wonderful place to pick up a coffee and brunch. On Saturdays, when the rush of the street market bring big crowds to this tiny space, it can mean a long wait for your food/drink. But any other day of the week service and atmosphere are delightful.
K. A.
I am very impressed by this place! There are many delicious and healthy options served here. Both salads on the menu I've tried tasted incredibly refreshing with marinated veggies and distinct French flavors. The sandwiches also have incredibly fresh veggies with optional meats and choice of bread. Coffee, tea, and pastries are served here, and there is Wi-Fi, giving this place the traits of a café as well. I'd highly recommend La Bouche!
M. C.
One of my favourite cafes in the area, good prices for breakfast. It's also a gastronomy shop with good selection of French and Italian delicacies and wines. Often very busy due to its central position to Broadway Market.
J. C.
Everyone loves this place but I've never gotten it. The salads are rarely gluten free and always vegetarian so for £7 make it hard to feel full. I appreciate the offer but wouldn't suggest you turn a sandwich into a salad unless you love rocket, sundried tomato paste and black olives... as these are added to every sandwich-turned-salad so it feels samey. If you eat sandwiches or want cheese or charcuterie then it's definitely worth a shout.
M. S. W.
Very good coffee. A nice place to relax or work with a view of Broadway Market. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the choice of music is great. There are plenty of products on sale as well.
D. T.
This is an excellent place to eat. The food is absolutely great. Even simple things like humous are better than normal. I had salad, flat bread and lunch buddy had an amazing looking sand which. All tased excellent.
They sell moroccan pots fro £10 each. However these are bought in from a shop down the road for £3. How do I know this? They left the original price tags on!
A. G.
Good selection of food, tasty quiches. Salad was a bit blunt
O. D.
Although the food here is really nice the service is just very random. For takeaway you order at the counter and even if you have ordered something on display you have to wait for the kitchen to get to your order. There are so many staff members that it feels frustrating to have to wait 10 minutes for the kitchen to pass the counter staff a box to put some salad into! So, I’m afraid, I won’t be a regular as it’s all just too irritating!
P. A.
Great sandwiches, but chaotic at lunchtime, taking up to 25 minutes for a takeaway sandwich to be prepared. It was worth the wait though! Definitely the place to go if you have a long lunch break.
F. I. t.
Yum cake selection. Noice selection of fresh foods to pick and bag.. like olives cheese tomatoes...nice cooked food selection. And cozy. But like small. Youd be lucky to get a table to sit at.
G. C.
L'Eau a la Bouche is the perfect place to have a coffee/brunch while sited outside & being able to watch people walk by across Broadway Market. With French origins, it has a great selection of brunch options & a cosy deli shop for your quick shopping.
A. B.
Strolling through Broadway Market, we decided to grab brunch here. After battling other patrons for a seat inside, we managed to sit next to other. For food, we had the Le Bouche eggs and the Croque Monsieur - nothing special, very decent offerings. Staff are very friendly, but do keep an ear out for your name when they are trying to get your food/drink to you. The real highlight was the coffee. I had to come back another day just to make sure: I have never had a better Cafe Latte anywhere else in my 6 months in London so far.
A.
I love this cafe on Broadway Market - delicious food, amazing range of sandwiches and good coffee. The deli is brilliant too - the cheese are to die for.
K. 1.
Tasty food and a good selection of it. The main let down is some of the staff (young ones) are unfriendly and act like they're doing you a big favour by taking your order!
L. R.
Lovely shop with lovely staff! The man with glasses at the cheese counter knows his stuff and is always really helpful. Makes a great cup of coffee, too.
J.
Love this place. My local for coffee, wine and little deli foods when I am on the way home from work and cant be bothered to cook. Staff are lovely and its so homely inside. A real gem on Broadway Market
S. N.
Best little deli ever! Local favourite, fab wine selection and always good vibes
I. D. H.
The quality of products is just amazing, all is organic and/or respectful with the environment, and always means good.
When is sunny in London is my prefer place to go, just because you can have a coffe facing the sun, with some plants around you...fantastic.
Staff always friendly
f. f.
Nice, tasty, interesting, unfussy food, medium price but good value in terms of the quality and choice. Somewhat inexperienced waiting staff when we went on a busy Sunday but things muddled through fine.
A. K.
Nice healthy lunch options and great french épicerie
Y. H.
Best brunch on Broadway - even on market days. Sitting outside with a hot lamb flatbread and house salad and watching the world go by is the best way to start off a Sunday morning.
S. W.
Charming, beautiful coffee place just off London Fields, I love it so much. They have these tiny wooden tables by the windows where you can sit back, relax, enjoy your coffee and observe the busy life on Broadway market.
B. M.
Yes, it is pretentious and overpriced, but I like it. I like it because the cheese selection is great, because even if the service is sometimes a bit disappointing, they know what they are doing, at least the people choosing what to sell and what to serve. The Adam and Eve sandwich is still my favourite, goat cheese and fig relish!
D. J.
Tasty coffee and super nice breads. Will visit again
j. b.
Colourful, continental styled deli cum cafe serves quiches, pies, pastries and more. Great buzzy weekend spot, if you be so fortunate, to bag a seat for the passing show shuffling and sauntering along Broadway.
J. D.
Went to grab stuff for a cheese and wine night. Nice olives. Some interesting wines. Staff not particularly friendly. Pretty expensive but i suppose delis normally are.
P. K.
Such a nice small pop up shop/cafe!
Great crowd plus lovely drinks and cakes.
A place to visit more often :)
J. W.
Very decent portions and beautiful presented. So colourful. Real hearty rustic food and nice staff. Good music playing too. ❤
L. M.
Such an amazing cafe, great for people watching , meeting and super wonderful food? Salads are sweet! Staff so kind :))
E. K.
One of the best brunch places in Broadway Market.
Granola is great, so is the spinach flatbread :)
Also, operates a little delicatessen.
Friendly service
H. P.
Great deli and coffee house. Amazing cheese selection and they do a loyalty card so you can save up points and treat yourself!
M. C.
Prompt service even though it was busy. Stimulating selection of food. Laid back vibe. Can people watch if you manage to get a table outside. Just wish outside were non-smoking.
E. H.
Lovely produce, slow coffees, cosy in the winter, lovely for breakfast outside in the sun, can accommodate a great cheese selection. They also sell carambars.
B. S.
My favorite place on the street. Morning or afternoon coffee or great salad or sandwich for lunch. Vast choice of special bread or delicious deli products for special home cooking night.
F. G.
My kind of place to have breakfast!
J. F.
Awesome, atmosphere by the bucket load, tasty salads, falafels, quiche, cakes and coffee. A great place for a lazy lunch or a quick pit stop.
L. R.
I love this place. Great deli with the right vibe. A lifeline in times of pandemic.
M. M.
Certain charm and good for contemplating Broadway life, though totally overated and overpriced. Please find a better way to reheat your pastries.

Nice shop, has a range of artisanal kind of foodstuffs. Meat, cheese, packaged goods, coffee, chocolate, sandwiches. Also a small selection of beers, some in fridges. Emphasis on local breweries. Can get quite busy at peak times. Worth checking out on a visit to Broadway Market.
Z. C.
Great coffee, friendly staff, lots of Mediterranean products at the deli, fresh bread and bakery goodies. Great space to chill outside and watch the crowds of the Broadway Saturday and Saturday farmer's market pass by
