Went in to have a well needed breakfast. Had poached eggs on toast and hot chocolate and it was cooked to perfection. The eggs were cooked and the yolk was still dippy

Max is a legend and his cafe is fantastic! Great value, tasty food and lovely staff. Cannot beat the jacket potato with baked beans and cheese for just over a fiver! Takeaway or eat in, you can’t go wrong!

Used to use it when over in college, sampled different meals regularly well pleased, went back 6-7 years after finished college course Max still remembered me. Was impressed (and No I didn't owe him money).

The shop assistants are very friendly. I won’t be hungry all day after eating breakfast.

A real treasure that stands the test of time in a forever changing highstreet. Don't expect bottomless brunch or smashed avocado on sourdough! This no nonsense London caf provides great food at even greater prices. The owner Max is a real character who seems to know every customer by name. Make sure to try one of the many breakfasts on offer. More and more of these places are disappearing from the highstreet, get down and support the local community.

Nice family run and owned business. A wide menu of food. From set breakfast, to paninis and lovely freshly made sandwiches made to order. You can eat in and they also do delivery. Restaurant can get a little cramp when its busy but it's a lovely atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop of if your hungry.

Amazing Cafe, lovely people. The value for money is AMAZING! For £5 I got an English breakfast plate with loads of mushroom, bacon, sausages, eggs and hash browns PLUS 2 giant delicious buttered toast AND a huge mug of hot coffee. The portions are amazing and all for £5 is a steal! Will definitely become a regular customer.

Lovely food. Most staff are very friendly. Max is always smiling putting you at ease. Only gripe is bacon can be so small at times with no rind. Gotta have some rind on the bacon. Place needs updating badly. Otherwise, we love coming here.

Well since I had few days off work and feeling lazy i have had several breakfast's from Max Cafe and all have been fantastic and I love for toast they use a crusty loaf. All have been delivered well; just wished they included tea or coffee when you order a delivery. Anyhow would definitely order again!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I love this place, it’s a local gem. Doesn’t look like much (given everyone is after fancy instagrammable hipster cafes these days) but it sure is a treasure find! VERY reasonable prices and great food (the portions are huge!).
