I wanted to share a random experience with you that I had on Monday.
woke up feeling only OK.. ran to chapel market and then I saw this shop looking very unique all in between other shops so I decided to grab a coffee mixed with hot chocolate as always
and a banana, music was dreamy / soul jazz cafe vibes / not thinking too much about my actions or how I was moving throughout the store but just quietly gathering my things.
When I went to the counter a guy working the register and literally the same guy who made my coffee (and eventually, my day) said to me as I was tapping my card -
I just wanted to stop you and let you know that you have the most beautiful energy
I’ve seen this month. A lot of people come
in here talking loudly not looking me in the eye so whatever you're doing keep it up.
and I smiled at him and I said “really!”
And he said “really, keep up that beautiful energy”.
So I wanted to say thank you to the universe for making me feel supported today.
Being human and writing about it - Cada
have its twists and turns- it can be a lonely
road when other people express their negative projections onto someone
who prioritizes being embodied and strivingTO meet themselves, but ultimately the way you live your life
and how you treat people is a work of art in
itself and I believe everyone is an artist.

I absolutely love this place.
Eating their Reuben Sandwich simply fills me with joy. The ratio of meat, condiment and pickles is just perfect. Most places in the UK serves this with not enough meat. Not Mercer. This is a deep filled and is a real handful to hold and to take a bite out of. Good Salt Beef, good rye bread. Just great. It really reminds me of a good Reuben that you might get in New York.
The service is very friendly but can be a bit casual which I think some might find unsavoury. They're lovely people though. And I really enjoy going there.

Delicious salt beef beigel (bagel) was the star here. Packs a heavy mustard punch. Very generous serving of salt beef.
Flat white was alright. Better in the area.

I used to live locally and would get a salt beef bagel weekly. Just as good as the famous ones in brick lane. There are tables outside in good weather.

I discovered Mercer Cafe during the lockdown and developed a love for the place. A good coffee, nice tuna melt sandwich, a delicious cake became a regular for me. During lockdown, Mercer would be my daily 10-11 am stroll/ walk. Its centrally placed, reasonably priced, clean and friendly.
I will admit, it was the pleasant and positive energy at the cafe which pulled me. While the coffee is good, what I enjoyed is the atmosphere- good music and phenomenal people. The cafe was quiet but Martina kept the energy up. While the lockdown was daunting, going to Mercer felt like the familiar positive energy. Martina is very warm, knowledgeable, artistic, creative and very uplifting.
Over a period, i have interacted with other servers at Mercer and acknowledge that they have an artistic side too. Elijah, Deborah, Oliver, all of them very warm and friendly!
So while you enjoy a cuppa coffee to spend time with a chat and you may explore a creative tangent. I will highly recommend it if you are
around the area.

I strongly recommend that people go there. I was served by a very lovely man named Luca. He was a ray of sunshine. He was so full of life. It was very refreshing to be quite honest with you. I would definitely go back there again. It's nice to go where you are made to feel welcomed.

Great food at prices that beat the chains, and the other more pretentious cafes in Islington hands down. Definitely recommend!

New to me. NY style small one room deli in Chapel Market. Does good coffee, smoothies, juices and deli style food such as bagels, chilli, toasties, salt beef and Reubens sandwiches. Clean premises. Friendly and polite server. Eat in or take away.

Tried this place for the first time today as they do lunch boxes for a bit over £5. I had the combo box which was veggie/beans chilli and two salads and overall I was really impressed. Much better than I was expecting it to be, particularly the bean chilli. I will definitely be back to try out the tasty looking (if slightly expensive) Reubens sandwich they also sell there.

Frequently buy lunch from here and I have noticed a change (not for the better) in the service. Over the past couple of months a new member of staff has served me who is always miserable, never even looks at you when she talks to you and gives much smaller portions than the other lady (who I think has been there for longer & is lovely). I haven't ever bothered complaining but after 2day I felt I had to. I waited for a very long time to be served and she just ignored me while she worked on a laptop. Finally she turned around, sneezed into her hands and then began serving me. She did not bother to wash her hands and put those same hands all over the container she then put my takeaway food in. Really disappointed and its a shame because aside from her, the rest of the staff are very helpful and the food is great.

Cosy corner Coffee place half way down chapel market. Serves good coffee and offers dairy free alternatives. Straightforward sandwiches, bagels, cakes and pastries. Good music playing and a chilled vibe. Only criticism is it's really on the pricey side. A shame as I'd prefer independent coffee shops rather than chains.

I love their bagels. I wish they are closer to my home. I’d go every day.

Great quality, and the salt beef bagel was amazing. They have a good range of food and the lunch time offer is worth a try.

Best spot in Chapel Market. Staff is incredibly nice and friendly. The food is very tasty and their coffee is way above the average of the market. Amazing!

Had the best pastrami sandwich ever there made by Luca.... Great staff great cakes... And best of all they use biodegradable cups.... Which I will go back there alone for...... If this small independent can do it everyone can..... Lovely place....

Trendy, New York style, corner deli. Welcoming staff albeit a little pricey but to be expected really. Good selection of sandwiches, Beigals (yes Beigals) and breads

Good coffee, nice salt beef on rye, overpriced though.

It's okay. Not much seating, not enough mince pies for everyone to have a festive treat, but good coffee which is the main thing, right?

They've just reopened for food service during COVID–19 with a smaller menu. We stopped by for Salt Beef Bagels, service and food was excellent.

Superb lunch. Their Rubin is fantastic. Prices just gone up which is a shame and I've stopped going there as often.
