Reviews of moko made cafe
R. E.
Really lovely cafe. Convenient location just up the road from busy shoreditch high street towards hoxton.
Came in and there was a very warm cozy atmosphere. Ordered a yuzu tea drink, salted seaweed onigiri rice ball and matcha brownie.
Everything tasted amazing! Presentation was good too. Rice was fresh and seaweed tasty. Yuzu tea very nice and the matcha brownie was crumbly but delicious. I hope they do custom orders for cakes.
Interior was Japanese twist with modern but quirky elements. Highly recommend if you want to find something authentic and nice to escape the busy city

Went there last year around Summer time. Small cosy cafe, staffs were friendly, love all the Japanese bakeries I had. Will go back at some point!

Love this cute cafe run by Moko.
I ordered the special of the day which was roasted vegetable with chicken, rice and miso soup for a good deal.
Had an iced coffee and also a roasted salmon Onigiri rice ball.
All tasted very lovely and friendly service.
Would definitely visit again! :)

A very homey, cozy, café with good food and great coffee. When sitting inside, the design feels like you’re at someone’s house. The coffee here is a 9/10. The baked goods are all made in house and are good. The food is traditional and authentic. Love their lunch deal for £6. Includes a miso soup (10/10) and one Onigiri Ball of choice. So far the Salmon Onigiri with salted baked salmon is my favorite. Would give 5 stars, but the service isn’t really friendly and welcoming, which doesn’t really make me want to come back much.

A quaint little Japanese cafe we had stumbled across. Their matcha honey latte and onigiri were great. The stand out has to be the yuzu cheesecake. I will definitely be back for another matcha fix.

Lovely peaceful cafe with calming atmosphere and Japanese accents
Matcha brownie was a nice sweet treat and paired well with matcha green tea of course

This is such a brilliant little place. The cheesecake was amazing, their ‘today’s special’ seafood stir-fry was incredible and reminded me of home. Just a very genuine and homely environment, with really hospitable staff.

Absolutely love their butakaku sandwich. It has been my weekend treat for years! If you see some handmade chocolates around Valentine’s Day here, please try! Best chocolates ever!

simplicity at its best. Japanese yuzu cheese cake. I like it because its is not too sweet and overbearing. Just perfect and i feel like i couldve had the whole cake. amazing pitstop to go before museum of home as it is close. kinako latte looks amazing too
A.
Lovely welcoming cafe in the heart of Hoxton. Great coffee and selection of food. The onigiri (rice balls) with an eclectic choice of fillings are highly recommended. Very good selection of cakes and Japanese teas also

cute and cosy japanese cafe. the matcha float is a must try!!

Small but cute and cosy cafe. I didn't eat in, but had a red bean bun, soft and warm from the oven, and a good cup of strong coffee to takeaway. Both were delicious =)

Really great Japanese cafe run by Tomoko-san. The highlight of the shop is their onigiri rice ball coming in all different sorts of options. The staff is also really accommodating and interacts with their guests.

It's like taking a little trip to Japan every time I visit. Lovely pastries and sweet bread. Best miso soup I've had in London, and yummy rice balls.

Best and authentic Japanese food in lovely cafe in the area. We had Tuna rice ball, Beef curry, matcha latte were all amazing. Will definitely come back.
R. A.
Today was my first day here and I loved it. I had a late lunch which was the special - beef with rice. My friend had the beetroot and goats cheese salad and a rice ball. We also took a matcha brownie away and a matcha and honey latte. All was perfect and really reasonably priced. Happy tummy :)
Tomoko is so lovely and patiently showed me the pieces of jewellery on display. I bought a hand made necklace! Very happy and will definitely visit again next time I’m in the area. 100% recommended.

An update since I first visited: a really special memory to recall of my time in London. Brought my friends to moko made in different times and they all felt the same, that Tomoko and moko made is so special. As this is my last weekend in London, I brought my mom to moko made. We really enjoyed the time, shiitake onigiri (must try!) And tuna mayo set. Mom was really impressed with the ginger in the miso soup, and I'm glad to have shared Tomoko's wonderful cafe with her too! At last, thanks again Tomoko, for all the memories and heartwarming engagement ! The cakes were amazing. I will definitely come back to visit you again.
And for those who are reading this, please try out kinako latte too. It's not anything you could get from usual cafe scene in london.
What a heartwarming place to stay for reading! It's rare to have such a strong sense of belonging. There's something special about the ambience of this cafe. It feels more than just a cafe actually. Tomoko is very genuine. Her food, the onigiri with shiitake mushroom and vegetables miso, reminds me of home.

This place is a hidden gem. It has the most amazing atmosphere. You are surrounded by little cups and teapots. Every object tells a story. The coffee is great, just as the loose leaf teas and desserts. Wifi is fast. Great place to chill or work. Moreover, the owner makes little comic books that depict her and Boo's coffee adventures. Boo, a little piglet, actually does physically exist and sits by the counter. Don't forget to send him my greetings.
W. W.
Lovely new Japanese cafe, that also serves coffee. Nice people and good vibe. Can’t wait to be back for more.

The matcha latte is probably one of the best I’ve had in London. Onigiri(rice ball) good portion and they made it fresh once you order!
