Reviews of Montpeliers

A disguised homely English café with a Frenchified title offers good value and friendly service with a pleasant outdoor arrangement looking towards the Heath.
Also the veg and gluten-free cake options deserve a mention and the portion be unlikely to disappoint.

Really great place. Friendly and with decent prices. Bid farewell to corporate coffee and enjoy a great cuppa at Montpeliers instead. They also offer a loyalty card system.
G. C.
Great place to chill out with a coffee overlooking the heath and letting the world pass by.
D. B.
Excellent cafe for a full cooked breakfast. They buy all the papers so you can relax and make a proper brunch morning of it. The coffee and walnut cake is to die for if you like a lovely cup of tea and a cake in the afternoon. Well worth a visit.

Highly recommended, try this local favourites cafe,
Always, loved seating outside with nice coffee and my favourite avocado & Chicken panini! Just perfect!

Really lovely little coffee shop in Blackheath Village. Sells a lovely range of sandwiches and cakes and gorgeous Soup with toast. Really friendly staff who can't do enough for you.
Cant wait to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by.

Lovely cake and coffee nice and friendly team.

Cranberry panini and carrot cake was very tasty. I really liked sitting outside enjoying the sunshine overlooking the heath. While having lunch. Attentive staff. Toilets were clean.
A. M.
Cake and cappuccino really good and great staff

Decent food and venue. Better options nearby both in venue and menu on offer. The traditional British breakfast is sizeable and is good value for money.
The service was decent although I think this place has unrealised potential. Perhaps shrink the menu and focus more? They do several things - lunch/breakfast/coffee/snacks but don't do any of them particularly well

A wonderful cafe and very friendly staff. I only wanted to charge my phone as I was running the London Marathon starting at Greenwich Park, and needed my phone fully charged, that extra 2% charge came in very handy! Thanks again!

Pretty decent cafe with variable levels of service and fairly unchanging, unimaginative but acceptable menu. However, sat in the window seats today (13/01/2019) and the experience was totally marred by the presence, in the adjacent seat, of a snoring, sleeping waitress hunched over the shelf, wearing, ironically I assume, a t-shirt with the legend ‘So, how did I do?’. Well, to be honest honey, not that well. Seriously, how could any manager sanction this? Really not a good look. Must try harder......

Went for breakfast and wasn’t blown away. Salmon was ice cold and scrambled eggs were runny. Won’t bother going back. Has a good view of The Heath and a great sun-trap in the summer. Staff were a bit off too..

The best place in the village for a coffee when the sun is shining. Their outdoor seating area offers a great view of the heath and the village and it's not too hard to get a seat in even on the nicest of days. The coffee and sandwiches are pretty standard, perfectly edible if unremarkable. The interior isn't anything special, but again, pretty inoffensive. It's all about the summer days at Montpeliers.

Great quirky venue and location. Food was fresh and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and the place looked clean. I’ll definitely be returning.

Amazing and friendly service. Great hot chocolate, great food. The atmosphere is relaxing, friendly, quaint and its my cafe of choice in Blackheath. It may be rather small, but it makes up for that by the genuine friendliness of the staff, and portion sizes. I highly recommend this gem.

Lovely coffee half way round our cycle

Always fantastic.... Best place in the Village
B. C.
Sitting outside available in fine weather, otherwise limited seating inside, but some chairs are a bit wobbly. Serves hot and cold drinks and a selection of hot and cold food. Generally clean and tidy and staff are pleasant.

Nice to sit in the sun. Coffee is ok. Cakes are good. I've had lunch there once and it was a very over microwaved jacket potato. Stick to coffee and cake and you should be ok.
D. L.
Coffee pretty good, but pain au chocolate and almond croissants aren't the same quality as Gail's or Jade, round the corner.
S. P.
Friendly service, niece view if your sitting outside, toilets are clean
S. L.
Nice and cosy. May need a little bit of redecorating. Great coffee and delicious cake. Avoid the latter if you want to lose weight

The food was nice. However I thought the lady owner was a little rude. Although it must be difficult running a food place during a pandemic.

Coffee was good. Breakfast was not worth £7.95. Probably wont eat here again but would get a coffee here.
K. S.
Lovely staff and wonderful coffee and cakes. 5-star service every single time! :-)

Lovely coffee, but took quite a while from placing the order for the coffee to arrive at our table. (About 10 minutes)
P. D.

Pretty little cafe in a great location. Exceptional service and the coffee was amazing

Much better than it's overpriced neighbour! sit outside with a proper old fashioned coffee in a cup and watch the world go by on the heath.
B. M.

Lovely coffee. Rustic ambiance. Pleasant staff. Worth a visit.
P. F.
Great cafe serving light meals. Very reasonably priced with great out door seating
P. A.
Average cafe, high turnover of staff who seem to all be under 18 and spend a lot of time chatting to each other rather than serving customers, many better options in Blackheath
R. S.
Good coffee, tasty food and friendly service and all at reasonable prices.
R. E. T.
Best coffee in the village.. Outside area for posing, inside chilled to read the papers.
Look out for Pete the Pet Pig
