Reviews of Mr Falafel
J. R.
Today I had a lunch of falafel and hummus, with olives and pickles, at Mr Falafel. It was outstanding, the best falafel I've eaten in London by a long way. Crisp on the outside and succulent (but not greasy) on the inside, perfectly spiced and delicious. The hummus was also perfection - a generous helping nicely garnished with parsley, olive oil, boiled chick peas, pickled turnip and a dash of cayenne. I've lived and travelled in the Middle East, and my meal compared very favourably with the best I've eaten in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan or elsewhere. Don't miss this treat. A simple café, very moderately priced, but which packs a real punch in food quality and friendliness.

Absolutely stunning food, I'm a very picky eater but the owner of this place will always cater to your needs! I was incredibly happy from start to finish, the owner is friendly, hygienic, thoughtful, and puts care into every single wrap. I highly recommend this place, the portions are large and not that expensive at all. It's filling and a good energiser, and can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or simply just a snack if you're hugnry and happen to be passing by. This is definitely my favourite place now, I'll never get sick of how flavourful everything was!

I recently met someone who told me about a simple little café in Shepherd's Bush Market, called Mr Falafel. It's an AMAZING place, they said - small and unassuming, but offering some of the best falafel wraps in the whole of London (and possibly the world). You might wonder, as I did, just how amazing can a falafel wrap really be? Well, after weeks of anticipation, my newfound falafel-fan friend and I had the chance to put these bold claims to the test. Not wanting to dabble in half-measures, I ordered a king-size Deluxe - the size of which exceeded even my wildest falafel fantasies.
And let me tell you, Mr Falafel lived up to the hype and more. Words alone are not enough to convey the combined taste sensation of fresh, crisp falafel, succulent florets of charred cauliflower, spicy potato chunks, crunchy salad, and a generous drizzle of creamy tahini, all in a warm wrap. I am a fully converted Mr Falafel fanatic, and I will definitely be back again soon! 🙌 🧆

By far this is the best falafel I've tried in my life and I am from the middle east BTW! I cant wait to go back to London and of course this establishment is a must do for me when I visit London. My only point for this lovely joint is that they open kinda later in the morning like 11:00 am I just wish if they open earlier, still, I remember during one of my few visits to eat there I have arrived maybe around 10:30 am (before their opening time) and the gentleman who was handling the place was very kind to let me in and started working his magic with the falafel and served me, and boy it was super delicious. Highly recommended for falafel lovers!

I don’t even know from where to start. It is Ramadan and I just broke my fast with Mr Falafels deluxe wrap. Everyone who fasts know that you become so lazy after breaking your fast but this wrap is so good that even after iftar with little energy I just had to write a review. I have tried so many falafel wraps in London but none come as close to this one. I have ordered Falafel from here numerous times and with each bite i go mmm mmm soooo gooood. Do not hesitate if you want a piece of heaven. The wrap is sooo filled and the sauces and spices all of that you cant go wrong with. Many thanks and blessings to Mr Falafel.
B. A.
This is a good falafel place. The falafel isn't already cooked, they cook it once you order. It doesn't take long for the food to get ready and when you do get it you won't be disappointed. Definitely going back.

Don't expect a restaurant as this is more of a takeaway place where there are only a few tables inside and no waiter. Strip away the peripheral superficial decor and this unpretentious little Falafel shack tucked away in Shepherds Bush market is undoubtedly the best Falafel joint in the whole of London. It’s very close to the main road, so you don’t have to venture too far into the market.
With a variety of Falafels to choose from, they have innovative flavour combinations to cater for the Western palate including fillings such as Feta Cheese, Halloumi Cheese, Spicy Tomato and more.
I asked the chef to prepare me the traditional Lebanese Falafel which includes just five ingredients; tomatoes, red pickles, green pickles, parsley and Tarator sauce. Tarator is a wonderful Tahini based sauce used as a condiment for many Middle Eastern dishes. Having been raised on falafels, I know what a good falafel is supposed to taste like. Theirs certainly don’t fall short compared to those I’ve eaten in the Middle East. Crispy, fresh, warm – each bite is truly mind blowing.
Prices are reasonable where portion sizes are very generous. Regular wraps are between £4.75 - 6.25 and the extra large between £5.50 - 7.30. The cafe is open 11.00 - 18.00 Mondays to Saturdays. If only they were open for dinner too.
I have been coming here for years and this place never disappoints. It is spotlessly clean and consistently excellent with very fast service. A mono-product concept where quality is very high. The owner who is Palestinian also runs the café. He merits more than just a recommendation. He deserves an award for this place.

Best falafel in the area. Very friendly staff/owner. Great portions and taste is on point 👌
R. O.
The best falafel in London. I am very picky with falafel; I gave ip on finding really good falafel in London but this one is authentic delicious falafel
P. S.
The best falafel wrap in London. Chips with zatyr are also heavenly.
S. G.
I have been eating here for several years and travel 5 miles to eat their falafel. You won't be disappointed best falafel in London.

I have been coming to Mr Falafel's since 2014, after a trip to Jordan and Lebanon, where I discovered what real falafel is meant to look and taste like. I tried dozens of different falafel places around London, in the pursuit of the ones that I had had in the Middle East, but none ever satisfied me. One day, a friend told me about this place, saying "they're real Palestinian guys, who make real Palestinian falafel, the best in London". I tried it once, and never looked back. Nearly 8 years later, I am glad to be able to report that it is even better than it used to be: the falafels are still made fresh, from scratch, as are the tahini sauce and hummus. The other ingredients ( lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, etc) are also fresh, and very generously served. What has changed is that the wraps themselves now come in different sizes: budget size, the smallest one, medium, large, extra large, etc. Different appetites and budgets are better catered for in this way, without compromising on quality. As for the service, it is fast and efficient, although the long queues sometimes mean longer waiting times. Don't be put off by that, though, for your wait will be worth it. By the way: there are four or five other falafel places in Shepherds Bush market, but none is ever as busy as this place is: why do you think this is? The staff ( two Palestinian guys, one with a beard, one without, both nice!) are friendly and helpful, and clearly 100% committed to their craft. To them, this is about way more than just cooking and selling falafel, which you'll realise from the very first bite. I now live in France, but still make a point of visiting this place every time I come back to London, and could not recommend it more. If you love the taste of real falafel, in the true Middle Eastern spirit of generosity and attention to detail, then this is the place for you. Period. Long live Mr falafel and his crew :-)
M. F. G.
Absolutely excellent falafel! Try the falafel and makdous wrap, and definitely try their pomegranate sauce!
I was recommended to get their falafel by a friend and it didn't disappoint. I'm a regular now. Probably one of the best places in London.
Y. W.
Amazing falafel definitely the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere inside is also very nice with the staff being very friendly. Ive had a selection of the wraps and all taste really good. Sides are also nice and the prices are amazing. A must visit destination in west london.
L.
This place is a staple in Bush. If you don't know it but like falafel, then you've been missing out. Go!
Great quality, tasty and good size portions.
N. L.
One of the tastiest falafel in London..Just love it.I recommend very much 👍🙂👌
A. A. A.
One of the beat falafel I have ever had
The flavor is good and very friendly staff
THE BEST
Y. A.
Genuinely the best falafel place in London! And this is coming from a Middle Easterner! The falafel is served hot and fresh, the hummus is fresh and home made and the wraps have all the authentic and original ingredients that are hard to find in other falafel places around London. It’s also a big bonus that the owners are a family from Palestine 🇵🇸. Highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back!
D.
I go here with my friend Michael who introduced me to Falafel at the ripe age of 40!
Every QPR game I'm free we come here and I love it!!!
Best meat free meal I've ever had, good size portions, quality fresh produce, great prices with fantastic service.
A. H.
Love Mr Falafel, they’ve been our go-to for seven years!
J. M.
As always the best quality Falafels in London are found here. Even the spices are concocted at home. In an ideal world, I'd eat here once a day. I'm grateful for this place and their commitment to quality
S. T.
The original.
Superb and the best falafel in London.
Tasty falafel and a great customer service.
R. S.
We tried their classic falafel wraps and fries multiple times and it was great everytime.
J. S.
This space is amazing. I go there all the time. Just one thing - you used to do fried potatoes in the wraps but lately it's been chips. 😕 Will you be bring back the potatoes? They were great!
D. A.
I have lived in London my whole life, tried a lot of different Falafel Wraps and can honestly say this is the best Falafel Sandwhich Bar in the city! The wraps are always freshly made using the highest quality ingredients and the staff are very polite. A true hidden gem in the area and a must try to all Falafel lovers!
A. K.
Friends told me for ages to try this place and it took me a while to get around to it. It's almost always my go to take away when in the area now. I've yet to find anywhere else in London that even gets close to the true Middle East flavours like here. The falafel is made fresh and there is a great selection of accompaniments. Some very authentic ingredients can be added as extras as well.
J. D.
Authentic Middle Eastern falafel! I've tried many falafels across London, turkish, greek, lebanese-some of them were tasty, one of them I couldn't eat because I smelt fish when I started eating eat (probably chef was touching a fish before :/ even though my order was without any fish!) Mr falafel is the best from all the falafels I tried in London! That's the taste I was searching for, I just made my first order and it was very tasty. I will come in near future to try different options as well. That's the falafel I had when I was exploring Middle East, ingredients seem to be fresh, food looks nice and taste even better! Thank you for the great lunch.
H. R.
I spent a long time in Lebanon trying to find the best falafel, but never found one as good as Mr Falafel in Shepherd's Bush Market. Very very highly recommended.
A. C.
Excellent. Very friendly, gentlemen took the time to explain about zaatar and the different options available. Highly recommended
J. S.
Best falafel I've ever had
M. P. D.
I've just had my first falafel wrap from Mr Falafel and already can't wait to go back! The falafel was light and delicious, the feta - fresh and creamy, the fresh mint added a lovely flavour, and fried slices of aubergine make anything better - yum!!! Staff were also super friendly! Can't wait to go back!
Update approx. 2 years after my initial review: I have been returning regularly, still the best falafel wrap I ever tried and it NEVER disappoints. Couldn't recommend this place enough!
P. v. H.
Perfect! The chicken shawarma is delicious! Order it spicy!
H. K.
I've been eating here for the last 10 years, having worked nearby. I can honestly, with hand on heart say that these are the best Falafel wraps I've ever had. Ahmed the proprietor is an amazing guy, always professional and friendly and is constantly striving to bring new varieties out. My personal favourite is the no 4, Falafel wrap with spicy potatoes which will set you back 5.50 for a medium wrap. This is an extremely generously sized medium and is quite sufficient. I highly recommend this place.
W. W.
The best falafel I have ever had! At lunch there can be a bit of a wait but that's because so many people want these delicious wraps. The guys behind the counter are lovely people that have been making and selling falafel for years and they have it down to an ART. Their staple is the classic wrap, and it's a solid place to start. But once you've sampled that delight, don't be afraid to try their other menu items, your taste-buds will thank you. What are you waiting for?!? Go get a wrap, you will not regret it!
R. F.
Best falafel in Shepherd's Bush! We often get our staff lunch here, lovely chaps behind the counter. Always servicing with a big smile. I love the falafel with the fried aubergine and feta the most.
G. S.
Recommended to try the Felafel & Makdoos, (roast small aubergine stuffed with walnuts), wrap. (Normally have the Felafel & all the extras from the Sudanese guys). Glad these guys have survived the Covid lockdowns, wrap was tasty and filling, with the Makdoos providing a smooth & crunchy contrast to the yielding felafel. Support your local takeaways with direct purchases.
D. T.
The BEST falafel wrap! We come from Cambridge especially for these, no matter where we go in London, we always stop at Mr Falafel. Tried so many places...these guys are the best!!!
U. U.
Amazing place for falafel. I would say this is my favourite place for a falafel wrap in all of London. Supreme and Deluxe are great.
v. w.
One of my favourite places to go for falafels in Shepherd Bush Market. Super friendly owners, owned by a Palestinian family. They sell other produce from Palestine in store.
A very pleasant experience and always nice to go for a quick date with your other half.
Portions are just enough and the falafels are not too wet (where it begins to break at the bottom). It is vegetarian and vegan friendly (for those who are conscious about their diet). Their pickles hit the spot every single time. If you can spare a bit more get their chips as well!
They were very accomodating for our baby even though space was limited.
C. R.
Amazing falafel!!! Good staff. Recommend.
A. P.
Best falafel in the UK by miles.
ا. ا. ع. A.
Easily the best Falafel in the UK. Just remember to decide on the fillings of the sandwich yourself (I personally recommend the following ingredients to get a feast of taste wrapped in a sandwich: Falafel+hummus+tomatoes+fries selection (potatoes/aubergines/and most importantly cauliflower). I also recommend not adding any pickles as the taste of pickles will hide the many great flavours (that is unless you love pickles). You will thank me later.
A. T. M. c.
The best Falafel I ever had 😊
H. V.
Amazing homemade food and friendly service. The best food in Canterbury!!!
H. K.
Hands down the BEST falafel in the UK. I remember coming here when I was a little girl before they even moved into their current location. It was the best then and still is now.. absolutely amazing.
M. T.
Very tasty food. I had the classic falafel wrap and was very delicious. It certainly hit the spot. My only gripe was I'm not 100% keen in tomatoes, and my wrap had a lot of quite mushy tomatoes in it which I ended up removing myself. Also the houmous could have been spread within the wrap more evenly. But very quick, yummy lunch food.
A. K.
What a great place! I moved to London late 2019 from the Arab world, and I think Mr Falafel's classic falafel sandwich is the best one I've ever had. Also staff are super accommodating. Thank you guys!
C. J.
I'm a self proclaimed fussy and particular foodie, and I absolutely love this place. Discovered it a few weeks ago and have been more times than I can count. Great value for money, fresh food, quick, and clean environment. Don't be put off by the 'look'. Could just be the best falafel in London? :)
Z.
Best falafel in town from my experience and I've had LOADS of falafels in many places in London! Nice vendors as well.
H. R.
Absolutely the best falafel in the world! Friendly service—you pay only after you have eaten and enjoyed your wrap. They have a local and an international loyal fan base who leave the 5 star dining of London to come to them because YES, it’s that good! They don’t serve tea but they allow you to bring in tea from outside. (A few stalls inside, Azizah an absolutely charming woman makes great tea!)
j. l.
The BEST falafel wrap, I’ve had!! I’ve been coming here for years. very lovely staff, amazing service! I travel across london just to have eat at Mr. Falafel!! Never disappointed!!
H. S.
Easily the best falafel in London. Nobody else uses pomegranate molasses. Genius.
Second best is in Hendon.
A. H.
Everyone must visit this amazing place. The whole experience is authentic, non-pretentious and delicious. The owner is fantastic. He remembered me years after the last time I had been. He remembers everyone's orders. He's affable and very polite. The food is out of this world. Fresh falafel, crunchy salad, perfect pickles all in a warm wrap. It's the best place to eat in London. I only wish it was closer to me!
A. G.
My other half loves this place, and will crave this atleast 5/7 days of the week. Me on the other hand, like the falafel, but find that the wrap itself is too tough. Im not a huge fan of white flour, so OPTIONs would be great! Id love for a 50/50 dough for the wrap, itd taste a lot better. Overall the menu us extensive and i love the spicy potato wrap!!! The owner and workers are very nice and polite. Its a shame the mr. Falafel in guildford closed down. Hope to see mr. Falafel branch out.
P. F.
I love falafel and this is the best place where to get one. A friend of mine showed me this little place during our lunch break. Since that moment I can’t stop going there! Food is so fresh and the staff is so kind and friendly! Don’t miss the halloumi wrap- it’s my fav. Try it please If you are around the area, keep in mind they close early afternoon! You will not be disappointed!
S. S.
One of the best falafel I have ever had. Very friendly staff as well. You won't be disappointed.
M. I.
Fantastic Falafel
I have no idea why I just found out that this place exists near my living area!!!! This shop is the place to be if you fancy authentic PALESTINIAN falafel. The place is very clean, staff members are polite and helpful. The falafel wraps are extremely delicious. Thumbs up and for sure I’ll be revisiting this place soon.
S. H.
Great Falafel especially the 'Foul Mudames Falafel' which is falafel with fried beans.
J. G.
Without a doubt consistently the best falafel in London! I have been coming here for years and am still not sick of it. The staff are really friendly and always welcoming too.
The falafel with spicy potato and the supreme falafel are my favourite.
Definitely give it a try if you are in the area!
C. H.
A 5 star rating is totally justified for this friendly place where the falafels are absolutely gorgeous. The pomegranate and tahina fries were a bit on the tarty side but tasty nonetheless.
A. K.
Best Falafel in the whole UK, and probably even Europe. This small place already won the awards to prove it, but u must try it to know why. It does have a wide variety, but u can never go wrong with the traditional simple wrap.
L. O.
Best falafel I ve had in london! Great fillings too!
D. B.
Absolutely the best falafel in London. I used to live near here and went regularly, it's just a shame I don't live that close anymore! I still occasionally travel across town to come here though and it's always worth the trip!
a. r.
Go here regularly. Classic falafel, potato, and feta cheese are one of my favorites. The owners are quick but warm and always get your order right. This little place is must go to if you are anywhere near shepherd's Bush or Westfield. They have recently redone their interiors with very interesting tapestry. Love this place.
S. E.
Best falafel in London. A must try!! I go with the classic and always enjoy it.
S.
YES YES YES. The falafel wrap is simple, delicious and vegetarian, although you can choose to pay more by adding extras like halloumi. Also love the Palestinian flag interior. Guy at the desk is very nice. (If you’re on a budget, you can find cheaper falafel wrap just down the road inside the market in an outdoor cart/ stall)
J. F.
This place is amazing I can't get enough of it! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this little gem. As I'm a vegetarian sometimes it's hard to find places to eat when I'm out and about so this place is perfect and I love falafel! The menu is amazing there is so much to choose from and the price and portion size is very reasonable. I will be back soon! Cheers guys!
B. R.
Excellent, cheap falafel with a variety of additions. Come any lunchtime and this place is packed. Try the wraps and you'll understand why: delicious, fresh and cheap good food. The medium is always enough to satisfy me - only go for the XL if starving or greedy!
A. 1.
The best falafel I've had yet, I'm literally eating it as I write this. There is a very authentic feel to the place and the staff are very nice. Highly recommend the place, keep up the great falafels!
j. w.
No one in London does Falafel better. Mr. Falafel never ceases to be anything less than delightful. I tried the avocado falafel today and it was fresh, flavourful, and the falafel perfectly and lovingly made. Their secret is freshness, their recipe, and just doing one thing brilliantly - falafels!
thank you for making my day time and time again!
B. S.
simply the very best falafel anywhere! With the most pleasant owner ever!.. with the most filling choices veg and vegan friendly...it's a must try.
A. W.
Best falafel wrap so far. We eat a lot of them and this is the best we've had.
The variety is good, ingredients are fresh and portion sizes are good.
D. S.
Mr Falafel is definitely the best falafel place in West London. The size of their wraps is decent, and the ingredients are on point.
P. W.
One of the best eateries in the whole of London. Don’t be put off by the long wait during busy times - it’s well worth it. You won’t find a better falafel wrap in London.
F. D.
Tried this for the first time delivered 3 days ago and have been ordering from them each day since. Really good falafel wraps and sauces. I love the amba and tahini with fries as well as the pomegranate syrup and tahini sauce with fries. The falafel wraps are huge and delicious. A+!
J. S.
Best falafel in London!
M. J.
Best Vegan Falafels of LONDON!!
Have been visiting this place since August 2016 and I must say the place is amazing.. The Falafels are fresh and tasty.. There are loads of options to chose from and you won't be disappointed!
S. J.
One of the best shops in London for Falafel wraps. Healthy and tasty. Lot of options and friendly owners. Highly recommended.
R. B.
The best falafel in London. We've been going for years, we actually still go despite now living on the other side of London. Tasty and great value. We'll worth travelling to.
M. J.
Abu-Ahmad makes the best falafels' in London. They're as good as any I've eaten in Aleppo or Beirut!
L. G.
Made a special trip across London today to visit for the first time in about six years (when I used to go at least once a week as I worked nearby).
It's still exactly the same: the best falafel I've had in London.
E. A.
Read lots of reviews saying this was the best falafel they ever had. Me thinking "yeah yeah, that's what everyone says" realised after the first bite that I will have to come back every week. BEST! FALAFEL!
J. G.
I eat a lot of falafel wraps. These guys do them best. Thank you Mr. Falafel. You truly are fluent in falafel.
A. M.
Amazing falafel wraps served fresh from a somewhat unassuming makeshift shop at the edge of New Shepherd's Bush Market. It doesn't look like much, and the staff aren't what you'd call friendly, but the wraps are the equal of any in London. They're Palestinian style and perhaps for that reason are quite different from those at, for example, Falafel King in Portobello Road. Where Falafel King does simple and vibrant, Mr Falafel does complex and ethnic. There's quite a variety of variants on offer. The makdous is worth a try: a falafel wrap sexed up with aubergine (eggplant) stuffed with walnuts and red pepper.
Z. A.
Absolutely delicous, friendly staff, clean kitchen, fresh ingredients. Yummy. Can't wait to go back
H. U.
The classic falafel was tasty, it would be much better if it is served with soft wrap bread warmed in advance and with a little bit less pickle in my opinion.
N. P.
Amazing like no other falafel. Vast number of delicious fillings. Unusual combinations and all at a good price. Friendly.
W. G. (.
Really tasty and healthy falafel wraps. There are a few falafel places in the area but I always go to this one. I always a no. 5 that has ful medames. 👌
R. T.
Not what it was hypedup to be, rather average falafel, probably no better than any other kebab or falafel shop down the road from you
K. W.
Deluxe falafel wrap has to be the best £6 you can spend in London
C. M.
I've been eating falafel all over europe and the uk, I love me some falafel. This was the best I've had so far, easy. The service was friendly and fast. I rate this place.
m. f.
If you are looking for an authentic falafel place - (I can verify that statement as an Egyptian), with no frills that might just serve the best falafel in London, this is the place for you!
R. M.
Fantastic falafel and an array of delectable fillings and condiments. Also, my dad reckons Nish Kumar was at the next table over, so it has celebrity endorsement.
a. h.
I’ve been buying wraps from this fab place for years. They are the nicest guys and the food is just great. My whole family are addicted. Highly recommended!!
J. C.
Great falafel. This is an institution.

Seriously good falafel. New favourite lunch place!

This is a very casual spot on a busy street to have a quick bite and they make very tasty falafels, sometimes you need to queue but definitely worth it.
J. S.
This falafel place is one of the best that I've been to. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic FALAFEL!

The best falafel joint in West London.... I've been served so many times freshly made falafels, that fresh that they fry them in front of you.... How dare you Mr. Falafel?

Authentic falafel place in Uxbridge Rd, London. This is a family-owned and -run business. You can get here via the Shepherd's Bush Market tube station, or if you don't mind walking you can come via the Shepherd's Bush tube station (on central line) and walk for less than 10 minutes.

Went there because of the great reviews. Falafel is reasonably good, but by far not the greatest I ever had. Chips were mediocre and factory made.

(Translated) This is a Palapal specialty store. The price is also very affordable, but the quantity is huge. It was my first time trying falapal and I really enjoyed it. It was so regretful that I did not eat one more time before leaving London.
