Super friendly staff and really yummy food. Affordable prices and food is prepared quickly. A small seating area inside with cute decor. Lots of veggie options available too which is great. One of my favourites was the vegan steamed bar. Would love to visit again and try out more of the menu!

Had a very positive experience on deliveroo. Cookies are so yum, and so were the kuihs (which tasted very authentic). The buns were warm when they came so bonus points for that! The pandan desserts - both the kuih bakar and the pandan cake - were the star of the show🔥 Will definitely go & order again!

Absolutely love this place! Stopped here for lunch the other day and was so intrigued by this venue! Really cute summery decor at first with the flowers and green floor. There’s plenty of seating inside and we’ll spaced out for safety. Hand sanitiser also available. They sell also some asian snacks including milo hot drinking chocolate, pocky and peculiar flavoured pretzels, all the Asian favourites! Their specialties are the Malaysian and Hong Kong style pastries. Lots of tropical flavours including coconut and pandan. Got a matcha latte, sausage roll and pandan cake. Really nice. You can tell it’s home cooked and not so greasy like some pastries. The staff also very friendly and explain the products well. I highly recommend you visit this pop-up before it’s gone!

I tried a variety of the sweets and the pork bu and all were fantastic. Please let this place stay on Bethnal Green! I'm local and think it should stay, it adds a lot :)

Happened upon Ong Ong Buns at lunch time. What a treat. The curry puffs were excellent. Had the veg and beef ones. The pastry is so delicious and fillings flavourful. The cakes are fantastic as well. Pandan Coconut is my favourite and you don't find it in many places. Glad i found Ong Ong and will definitely make it a regular stop.

Honestly my favourite bakery in London! Shop owner is so friendly and I love that it's a little family business. Highly recommend the pandan coconut cake, cocktail bun and char siu bun! If you're making a big order, might be worth pre-ordering first. I've always pre-ordered and it's gone smoothly every time.

i had the pandan cake and it was amazing！it was only 2.5 pounds for a generous portion and at breakfast time tea comes for 1 pound together. So i thought the price was really great for the amazing food. The owners are both from Asia so it is very authentic. Friendly and thoughtful staff. You can eat drink inside too. Dog friendly 🐶😊

I stopped by the bakery today after walking past a few times and being intrigued. The server was really lovely and talked us through each item. This is an absolute must visit if like me you enjoy trying something new and authentic. It’s a great family run independent with everything made in house by the servers wife and mother. Lovely family-run bakery with a mix of Malaysian and Chinese buns, including sweet, savoury and Vegan options. It’s all homemade in the back of the shop and served fresh from the oven. Good coffee too and a very friendly chap behind the counter. Definitely worth a visit!

Had a delicious veggie curry puff and an impeccable char siu bun, but the best thing was the service! So lovely to chat with, telling us about each of the items available. Even got out a pandan leaf for us to smell to get a sense of the sweet goods. It's a must stop by if you're in Brick Lane.

I am so glad I visited this place! At first I couldn't find it but it is right opposite PRET. Inside, you are greeted with a lovely indoor garden. On the wall, there is this beautiful Asian tea set. Unknown to me it was used for a wedding ceremony because the guy told me. I love the way, all their bakery is displayed in these bamboo steamers under heat lamps. There is a lovely choice like pineapple buns, cocktail buns, curry puffs, sausage buns. Some are halal which is thoughtful of them. Overall, worth visiting and my favourites are definitely anything pandan!

Anyone who knows me know of my undying love for chinese/ peranakan pattiserie. So, imagine my excitement when Ong Ong Bun opened near my home. On a first glance, they are a bit pricier than the Chinatown Bakery in Soho- which has a more substantial operation and multiple shops in Soho. Yesterday, I tried their bread for the first time. Ong Ong's breads spoke for themselves: The bread is really dense and kept warm on the shelves. The ffillings,rich and spicy. I was expecting them to be on par with Chinatown Bakery's breads, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. Definitely will come back to Ong Ong Buns
