Reviews of park café hönle - Festa sul Prato
A. F.
I have been a non stop regular in this cafe since 2020. Martin the owner has been nothing but kind and provided me a safe space to do my work. Even read. They make really good coffee. I like all the staff. Very lovely people! The cappuccinos and Lattes are 100% worth it. Especially considering they are cheaper than some other independent cafes around the area. The food is so good too! My favorite is the sausage pasta and lemon chicken salad. Quite healthy and light. Pefect for people on the go. This place gets 5 stars from me. Always looking forward to having my coffee and saying hi to the kind hard working staff here 😊 ☕.
T. S.
Great little local cafe. Very reasonable prices for food and drink. Friendly staff, but staff couldn’t give me the WiFi code so I could work in there on my laptop for a couple of hours. So very disappointed in that. Hence the 3 star rating.
K. I.
Favourite local cafe. Carrot cake is something special! They also sell Monmouth coffee, fresh bread, ceramics. Gets a bit crowded on weekends but I guess it’s a good sign :)
C. O.
The most wonderful park cafe and our absolute favourite. To have Martin cook you a restaurant quality slow cooked pork and vegetables for £7.50 is a treat and a bargain. The sublime chocolate cake is a joy. Coffee is of absolute top quality. And music in the park on Sundays. Brilliant. All served by friendly and helpful staff.
R. S.
Great food, great coffee, great friendly service. Frequented regularly during the lockdown months. Continues to be one of my favourite places in the Deptford area.
N. D.
Amazing food quality, lovely place, nice staff, excellent value for money. Cannot recommend enough for a nice lunch on a sunny day
S. W.
Lovely place with great pastry and beer!
D. J.
Great little cafe, very community orientated. Friendly staff, nice menu, lovely surroundings too. Highly recommended, nice background music, good quality of food and drinks, really impressed. If ever I'm passing again, I'll be sure to return.
R. M.
Excellent coffee and pastries, with first class service. Good to visit again, enjoyed a lovely coffee.
Well worth tracking down this small cafe, just off Trundleys Road, SE8.
V. J.
What a gem! We discovered this fabulous cafe during the early part of the pandemic and have been back almost weekly since on our bike rides. If we’re there in the morning, I always get their unbelievably good bacon roll for £2. If later, a pasta lunch or chicken box for £6 and a great coffee makes an excellent meal. And now we try and time our Sunday visit to take in some live music outside the cafe. Thanks so much to Martin and your lovely team. We’ll be there later today.

It seems like a lovely place especially surrounded by an absolutely beautiful park and a big playgroup for children. I was extremely disappointed by the atmosphere the cafe has. I walked in with my 2 children who noticed the 2 massive loaf of bread on the counter and naturally asked if they could buy a slice of it with butter but to their surprise they were told that the cafe can't serve a simple toast or slice of bread with butter but only a "posh roll "with salami.
Considering that the cafe is right next to a big playground , serving the most simple solutions for children should be essential. The vibe of the place feels uncomfortable and stiff. The coffee , drinks and the substitute muffin was very good but the overall experience was very disappointing.

Nice and cute cafe!
I ordered small vegetarian pasta £6
it’s better than I thought!
Friendly staff and great atmosphere
Totally recommend!

Perfect. Got there on a sunny day. Was busy but still managed to get a table outside. Inside was empty, food was great, Staff were great. Price was great. Chilled out lunch in the middle of the park. Glad I found it.
B. V.
Brand new cafe in freshly refurbished cafe in the park. Plenty of outdoor seating (mostly bier garden style benches with some small metal tables and chairs. There are some fledgling climbing plants that in time will make the slightly bare patio area more appealing. Dog bowl provided.
Excellent disabled access, with ramped entrance and disabled toilets.
Nappy changing facilities.
Indoors has a stylish minimalist feel, with dark grey tiles and bright artwork.
Offers breakfast/brunch, lunch and early dinner options as well as hot and cold drinks and ice cream.
Allpress beans, although the barista is still getting the hang of the art of the perfect cup, he is clearly keen to get there. Very friendly staff and a warm welcome.
We had breakfast here, with perfect hollandaise sauce and delicately made poached eggs.
Prices are a little on the expensive side, but the ingredients are fresh and the food made with care. (2 breakfasts and 2 hot drinks came to just under £20)
Ideally situated for a cyclist's breakfast order dinner en route via the Quietway.

Simple menu but really bloody beautiful. Beautiful coffee. Best brownie I've had in yonks. Lots of outdoor seating
D. J.
Tasty lunch box, tasty oat milk flat white and lovely service! Perfect covid measures and a great relaxed atmosphere inside. Will come again!
E. M.
A great find in a great location nr a bike route on the edge of a park with playground, pond & skate park One of the few times I've tasted perfect pasta Try the ham, fig & gorgonzola Great deserts too - we shared the affogato & a really good date & walnut cake
F. A.
Unfortunately, I only had the opportunity to eat in once. After I moved in to the area the first lock down kicked. Since then I have been going there for a coffee, take way lunch, pastries, etc. Everything that I have ordered so far it's really good quality. It's great to go there for a coffee and enjoying the view over the park. Can't wait to go back there and have a proper meal inside.
T. R.
My only regret is moving to this neighborhood after the first lockdown was already underway, because I'm sure it would have been a delight to share a bottle of wine at this cafe. However, it still proves an excellent stop for the takeaway bread, coffee, and pastries, and a great place to restock on coffee beans and flour and wine as well. The garden is also exceedingly inspired, nothing nicer than sipping a drink looking at the figs forming over the picnic tables.
D. C.
They do amazing cakes. I had a flourless chocolate cake there I still dream about! Nice tea just wish they had larger cups.
h. g.
Lovely local place. Mostly been in the day for coffee/juice/lunch but heard dinner time is great too. The menu is simple but on request they have always been able to provide delicious vegan options. Always fresh, big portions, friendly staff, etc
P. M.
Great coffee and bacon sandwich this morning while son having skateboard lesson next door!! Menu looks really interesting, I’m sure I’ll be back lots during summer.
L. T.
My partner and I love this cafe. The food is fresh and delicious. It's location is great, right in the middle of a park and lovely in all seasons. It's also a great place to work and the staff are lovely. Really recommend. Also, the breakfasts are amazing!
V. M.
Can be difficult to find but once you know where it is it's a good spot for a latte.
P. S.
Great food, lovely selection of wines. Vegan pasta with no egg also available, food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. I celebrated my birthday there and we had a large group, including children..service was excellent and attentive. Park nearby is great for children when they get bored. Definitely happy to recommend. Great flat whites too!
M. W.
In a word, superb. Having been here three times before, I'm confident it would beat anything Greenwich or Surrey Quays has to offer. It's sensibly priced. The service is excellent. The food is well thought out, well prepared and well presented. It's pretty much got everything. I visited with friends for a third time in December. They were seriously impressed. The only glitch is that the menu tends to be on the blackboard behind the bar. I think we'd all have been grateful for even a cheap paper menu to read from.
O. G.
Excellent and friendly service! My partner and I have been coming here for the past few years for breakfast and lunch. There are always daily pasta deals for £6 and £10, tasty sandwiches and good breakfast options on offer - it is a great addition to the area!
Since lockdown, they have offered a vegetable box for £20 and we picked up our first one today, I'll attach a photo shortly. Lots of variety and as good as any ordered veg boxes from Oddbox etc!
C. H.
It’s my local cafe which I frequently visit across all day parts, service is always friendly and efficient, the team all really bind well and clearly enjoy what they do and working together. Food is always of a high standard, I recently had the veggie breakfast and it was delicious a great recommendation by the waitress. Ate in a leafy park the atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming all year round.
M. W.
Great, authentic and well-sourced food prepared by nice people who know what they are doing. I was so impressed I visited for brunch and for dinner in the same week. The food is streets ahead of almost everywhere else in the area. It's certainly better than all the chains and most so-called gastro pubs. It was very quiet on both occasions and the room itself is no more than functional. This is a place that deserves supporting.
T. C.
Great casual cafe/restaurant in an area lacking in quality food outlets. Menu is often changing and offers a great choice of very well put together dishes, if I don't sit in for a meal I often swing by and grab one of the sandwiches which are reliably superb. Get in early though as there are finite amount of each item on the menu. Good vegetarian options too.
P. J.
Really great service, just gotta remember the pasta and mains don't start until 6pm on a Saturday. So I ordered dessert first (latte and their own chocolate and almond cake). Both were on point, they do a range of cakes and some pastries and they can be served with ice cream too, which I didn't try this time. The pasta was the biggest plate of spaghetti I can ever remember having which was served with a more manageable portion of meatballs on top. The meatballs and sauce were both delicious with a good amount of garlic. The spaghetti was good too and they made a side of broccoli for me which I had requested off menu. Overall a great place and lovely staff, am sure I will be back when I'm next south of the river.
S. G.
Absolutely delicious food and great coffee; the chicken lunchbox today was really excellent. Great quality and value, friendly service. Great place to stop off on the cycle route.
R. W.
Good food, friendly staff, peaceful location and pleasant design. Will certainly be back!
P. C.
every park should have one of these! Went for breakfast - very enjoyable and excellent service.
B. M.
Really cosy place; the manager has always been super attentive and accommodating towards me and my family and always at a competitive price too. Amazing food, lovely staff, great vibes. See you soon!
J. D.
Nice spot, hidden from traffic. Food was really nice and fresh. Lots of outside seating to watch the comings and goings.
I. G. (.
Perfect place for a mid afternoon tea. Dinner is delicious too!
A. N.
A recent discovery and an absolute favourite. Amazing coffee and food. Italian, despite the Scandi sounding name. If you’re walking through, stop here for a coffee and bite - to go, or enjoy in the park.
A. H.
Nice food and coffee. A hidden gem
J. E.
While visiting from the US, stopped here for breakfast each day! Great breakfast menu and full scope of coffee and tea. Wonderful atmosphere, located in the park. Also has a nightlife but didn't get to experience it!
H. E.
Lovely place with good hearty food and generous portion sizes. Nice atmosphere with a friendly owner. We discussed where he sourced his tuna and he seemed to have a really good idea of the best places to source quality ingredients. A hidden gem.
S. C.
Amazing food, lovely staff, great vibes. Really cosy place; the owner has always been super accommodating towards me and my friends and always at a reasonable price.
M. B.
Excellent little hidden away spot. Been twice, once for coffee and snacks, once for dinner yesterday. Delicious starters and mains, from top quality ingredients. Will be bringing friends and family back.
One of the best new places to open up in this area! Highly recommended.
V. M.
Superb quality of food, selection of wines and all reasonably priced.! Friendly staff making sure that you leave happy and content. Nice and cosy place, free off-street parking and a park to keep the kids occupied.
Definitely worth a visit!
B. K.
My neighbourhood restaurant. Lovely converted loos in green and tree-y Folkestone Gardens. Nice indoor space but wonderful outside seating. Reasonably priced beautifully cooked Italian food and a good selection of drinkables. I've just had a delicious plate of penne with lemon chicken and tomato sauce and a blissful affogato sitting under the trees with a view of the blackbirds and occasional skate-boarders. Perfect. Relaxed. Welcoming. Friendly efficient staff, and patron Martin is my hero for bringing Festa to life.
H. B.
Relaxed cafe on the edge of a park. If a desert was made up of greasy spoon caff's and cheap fast food outlets Vesta Sul Prato is an Oasis! Quality ingredients and well made dishes. The breakfast is a treat. 👍🏻
K. S.
I had the breakfast and it was fantastic - generous and of high quality. It's so nice to go to a place where they take pride in the quality of the ingredients they use. Perfect.
P. N.
Love having this as my local cafe. Great coffee and cakes and the £6 lunch menu is brilliant
A. K.
I went here with my Mum. Fantastic presentation and fish was cooked and seasoned to perfection anti pasti was top notch too not to mention the staff, who were fantasticly welcoming especially the young guy!
N. T.
Great location in the park, fantastic eggs Florentine and coffee!
J. M.
Terrific little modern bistro. Interesting menu, freshly cooked meals and great value. Decor is pretty functional and it's a little distance from the busier streets in New Cross and Deptford. But, were the same place to be in Grenwich, it would be heaving and much more expensive. As others gave said, it's a hidden gem.
D. R.
Best Bacon roll around
A. B.
Lovely little place. Nice pasta dishes (one veggie and one meat per day) with a few main course options too. Really cosy and friendly
D. R.
I go most weeks for lunch and I love it. They're super friendly and while they don't advertise gluten free, they are very helpful in finding options for you.
