Reviews of Pavilion Cafe Victoria Park
M. C.
Probably one or the nicest parks in East London. Nice food and drink. Builders tea from £1. Toilets and easy access. A good size park with plenty of benches and space to walk or cycle around
S. G.
Nice little cafe right by the Victoria Park lake. Egg hoppers are decent. Bakery products are good. They have a small collection of juices & light beverages as well. Gets really crowded later in the day.
S. P.
The Sri Lankan breakfast was fantastic. Simple tasty food. Second visit I opted for the fish finger sandwich, probably the best one I've ever had. No cheap, soggy frozen white fish. A glorious fish patty with delicious salad, capers all topped off in a brioche bread surround
P. W.
First time been here, had cheese and kimchi toastie, great fresh flavours on sourdough, flat white was flavoursome and creamy, excellent, going to try the Sri lankan breakfast next time
Also sells bread pastries and other homemade goodies, I did peruse the Vege kimchi
G. M.
Beautifully place cafe with a very nice design with a dome. It also has a nice metal extension over the lake. This is not even getting into the food. I had a very nice croissant and an apple juice. And what makes it even better is that all of the “plastic” cups and napkins are 100% recyclable and plant based!!
Overall I would strongly recommend you stop at this café if you are in Victoria Park!
T. H.
Really friendly staff and best coffee I’ve had for a long time. The food was mostly really good. I would say however that the cheese sandwich was a bit weird. It had some sort of curry in it that my friend and I didn’t enjoy. They should stick to classics like ham and cheese.
y. l.
Nice lakeside cafe. The cinnamon buns and croissants are must try.
G. S.
We had Coffee & Cardamon Buns in the morning. Both were delicious. Then, for lunch, we had the BBQd Sea Bass with Salad, Flatbread and added sides of Peppers and Smoked Potatoes. Washed down with a couple of glasses of Rose. Every single dish was superb, cooked to perfection, and tasty. One of the best meals we've had for a long time. Staff are also very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Fully recommend.
J.
This cafe is really popular, meaning long queues are common especially if you come in the weekend. The cornish scallop roll here was an ABSOLUTE DREAM.
Joined the queue with the intention to order the mussel chowder, only to hear that it was sold out! Fortunately the scallop roll didn't disappoint! Please update the board if any food is sold out, really helps one decide if we should to join the queue!
A. O.
This place never disappoints, from great coffee to delicious food and lovely bread this is a great place to stop off in Vicki Park and relax.
The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, the food is reasonably priced and delicious and the coffee is great.
We had the asparagus omelette (which had brie in it) and a vege breakfast.
A heads up this place is pescatarian so if your looking for sauages and bacon you won't find any here!
M.
Cute place. We stayed outside as it was full inside and a huge queue that was impressively fast for its size. Good food, they don't have a full English breakfast though, had to go somewhere else another time to show the touristic full English Breakfast
F. G.
This has been an amazing cafe and everyone talked about it and I was quite lucky to be able and experience this now. Although it’s for takeaway only I managed to get the special weekend Sri Lankan Breakfast - really amazing curry dal and roti. Also the combination of spice they have on the dish was just amazing. The cafe is an excellent place for meet up or hang out for a coffee or some amazing delicious hot food or pastries to go for. Total recommended. Hi
K. S.
We had the Sri Lankan breakfast, which came with some dhal curry, coconut sambol, deep fried curry leaves, beetroot chutney, one red rice stringhopper and one savory roti.
It was a wow meal!!!
The stringhopper needs to be cooked for another 15 seconds or so. But, we were so happy with the authentic taste!
Good selection of breads, jars of chutney,
buns and other meals.
A beautiful place by the lake. Several nesting water birds too.
F. H.
Very nice atmosphere, right on the bank of the pond. Beautiful to see in the mornings just before sunrise. We usually go in for bakery/pastry products and coffee - both are nice. Prices for products are on the premium side
J. O.
I had to give it some stars, but this is not in reflection of their Food, Staff or Services as I wouldn't know. Unless you had made reservations way in advance. The entire park was heaving with people on Saturdayafternoon (2pm). The queue for the ladies, was sooooo long, you needed to make a decision to join the queue, before you needed the toilet. So I left the park to find a cafe to dine at. Not much better elsewhere, lovely park, but oversubscribed.
C. C.
My go-to spot for breakfast and brunch meetups with friends. Price, quality, portion size & service are on point 👌, they also sell the best sourdough bread in town. Don't be put off with a seemingly long queue, their system is super effecient and you'd never have to wait longer than 10 min to order. Also try out their chai tea!
E.
Perfect for a weekend brunch and vegetarians. Love sitting in the spacious outside area, which has nice views of the park. If I don’t sit down for a meal, I would at least pick up some sourdough bread which is to die for. One of the best sourdoughs you can get in London. The only thing I’d have to say is, that the Oat Milk Pavilion uses doesn’t go very well with coffee. It just doesn’t taste nice. Their food is amazing though. I wish I wasn’t always getting full after my avocado and poached egg on sourdough, so I could fit their delicious cardamon buns into my tummy. Seriously, the go-to cafe when you’re in Vicky Park!
L. S.
This is a great brunch spot in London, very relaxing and charming, food is really good as well, I’ve tried almost everything on their menu and never been disappointed. Because of the current situation the cafe only open for takeout food which still good as you can always find a nice spot in the park to have your food.
V. K.
Excellent mulled cider and cheese and spring onion toastie kept me warm on my chilly morning walk around Victoria park. Great café by the lake. Also good coffee with non dairy milk options!
L.
Would get addicted to the almond croissants if I lived closer! 😍
P. A.
Not your average cafe in the park! Very good coffee and great brunch menu!! Large sitting area outside (if the weather allows) located in gorgeous lake area of Victoria park.
Highlights are:
- pancakes
- mozzarellas and tomato sandwiches
W. Y.
Great breakfast in Victoria park. Although we needed a queue like 10 minutes, we got served very quickly after ordering the food. It's by the small lake so you can enjoy the sunshine and lake view outside of the restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. The price is not not very high and worth the price. We ended up paying £11 per person.
J. H.
Very popular cafe with what looked like great food. We only got coffee, which is where I have two issues. They don't do soy milk (only full cream or oat) and they got my order wrong. Besides that they are very organised and move people through quickly. Would give them another opportunity.
S. N.
A really great place to stop for coffee and a Sri Lankan breakfast!
Had string hoppers, roti, sambol, parapu (dahl). Was really tasty.
Also had an egg, cheese and spring greens muffin.
The socially distanced queue and one way system worked and was relatively quick at 9.30am on a Sunday.
Would defo recommend!
i. “. j.
Good coffee great bread, staff can be prickly but I would be too if I was taking orders at 7 in the morning on a cold winter's day
j. b.
Albeit a limited selection, served with little fuss but trendy-on-the-button and the locale is pleasant .
Streamlined functionality the keynote here and executed with aplomb.
Again, prices are mostly within the realm of reasonableness, while the quality is beyond reproach.
This is a popular destination.
C. L.
Lukewarm Coffee
Beautiful location within Victoria Park. Go early to bag the very popular seats overlooking the pond.
Staff are pleasant but not overly friendly, the coffee is very good quality, but always served up lukewarm ( even when I request it extra hot!). The juices are refreshing & delicious.
The food looks wonderful, but I wouldn't dream of paying such extortionate prices for such simple food.
A pleasant cafe , but very much a "yummy mummy"/ hipster place. The prices reflect this.......
C. C.
The coffee is really inconsistent but the food is great. Gets super busy at the weekends
v.
Very nice place, and amazing food. Kids friendly. Lovely place to eat. Very good quality coffee from Red Brick Square mile. Price for coffee £2.5 for meal £8.5 - £10
M.
Open during lockdown, takeaway available
Great coffee, pastries, bread, granola, sandwiches, small selection of olive oil, jams, veggie boxes 📦 and other yummy must have’s for your kitchen.
5/5 😍
N. O.
I had a decent flat white, delicious salmon bagel and a delicious raspberry jam. Very nice vibe. Will come back for more food.
F. S.
What a nice surprise, this cafe has wonderful food and their coffee is just as fabulous! Freshly made, and inspired by Sri Lankan cuisine, their food has vegan and vegetarian options. I'd strongly recommend it!
B. P.
Lovely cafe with nice seating looking over the lake. My favourite place for a chai!
L. Q.
Love the vegetarian idea of the cafe! Always a pleasure to come here during sunny days, great food, fantastic view and can always get a seat and the food was fast given the long queue of orders.
A. H.
Most incredibly resilient business, adapting to every curve ball the govt has thrown this year to reflect what the people want. Providing benches as outdoor seating, the summer outdoor pop up, selling local growers’ and makers’ products, offering ritzy and herbaceous locally made hand sanitiser instead of the metho-smelling lube-like jelly you’re subjected to elsewhere... and consistently selling great coffee, bread and pastries in the lifeline that is Vickie Park. Thank you for being 2020 everyday heroes! 💕
F. J.
This cafe is perfect in everyway. Great staff. Cheap prices and they also help the community. They gave out free food for people who cant afford buy their own food.
S. J.
This is the kind of place where when a 35 year old man shouts "Mabel! Flo!" You don't know if he's calling his kids or his dogs.
I find it expensive and pretentious, £6 for a hot chocolate and pain au chocolat, both mediocre. Actually the hot chocolate was slimy. But hey, it's by a lake and there's lots of dogs to watch. Some of them are called Mabel.
P s I must admit though that my friend thought the Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing. Just not to my taste.
A.
Had a carbonara take away during the lockdown. Quality food and got served quickly despite of the huge amount of customers that day. I paid £8.5 for this.
C. D.
One of my favourite coffee stops. Great spot with friendly staff and great food.
G. K. G.
Best almond croissant so far 😋👌 the other food is good too, and chai is nice!
D. D.
Every Saturday and Sunday morning they provide a perfect coffee for the post ride cool down... Lovely people gorgeous food
D. L.
Great cafe - friendly staff, good produce and prime location. Would recommend.
d. k.
Always great to sit next to the lake and have breakfast in the park. One of my best spots when visiting London with my family's dogs
S. P.
Deservedly popular, original cafe that has found its groove by making its own original breads and vegetarian/pescatarian dishes inspired by Sri Lanka. Typically not a place to spend too long (comfort and crowd mitigate against this) but the staff are accommodating and the views iconic. Decent coffee but the ordering system could be more efficient!
P. K.
Coffee and snacks at acceptable prices, seating available with a great view over the lake. Remember to ask for milk and sugar if your want it as it's not self service. Bit of a queue when busy but there are plenty of staff and you shouldn't have to wait too long.
A. H.
Went in got coffee and tea got a couple of snacks later.staff were very good friendly servise.at nice spot at side of lake.
A. L.
Food options were adequate. Friendly staff. Lactose free coffee option. Had the avocado with eggs and the mushrooms with eggs. Both were good. Small portions for a full meal but very delicious. Set in a great environment.
M. B.
Very nice breakfasts. Kippers was excellent and it's so good to taste something different from regular English breakfast or avocado on toast. They have other inventive options too.
B. B.
Love this place! Delicious food, delicious coffee...love the Sri Lankan breakfast and the bakery is exceptional.
S. B.
Excellent cafe with outdoor seating in Victoria Park. A good range of meat-free (vegetarian and fish) options. It may look busy but by the time you've ordered you'll be able to find a seat before your food arrives. Very good coffee with oat milk too.
C. B.
Great food for lunch or brunch, not a lot of choices but basic tasty stuff. Great place by the lake. 30 pounds for 3 meals and 2 coffees. Nice to have a walk in the park before or after or both. Choose a sunny day to go there.
A. G.
Sri Lankan brunch is incredible! Lovely little local cafe in Victoria Park alongside the lake. Perfect location - always busy which speaks volumes, get there early!
T. H.
Location, location, location! Perched on the edge of the lake in Victoria Park with a sun deck over the water and outdoor seating for soaking up the sunshine. Really great vegetarian food (and I’m a carnivore through and through) and the coffee is always good. They get busy but the staff are always on it and it’s clear no-one has to wait longer than they need to.
M. N.
Fantastic casual breakfast, dog owners must unfortunately eat all fresco but otherwise all good. Pastries tend to be verging on overdone here howwver.
R. M.
Not your regular park caffe. Come here for the food and you’ll be a happy camper. It’s an all veggie menu and the Sri Lankan Breakfast is divine. Skip the coffee and enjoy a cup of tea here ;)
E. A.
Possibly one of the best park cafes in London. The only thing missing is some vegan pastries 🌱
B. H.
Good coffee! I'm yet to try the food, but that looks great also. Very friendly staff & a great view of the park, whether you are strolling a long for a takeaway coffee or planning to sit & enjoy the view this spot is perfect.
T. H.
Perfectly positioned on the edge of a beautiful lake with both indoor and outdoor space to eat or fuel up on coffee. It's relaxed, laid back and the vegetarian sri-lankan/British food menu is great.
P. H.
It's a really lovely cafe with excellent food and drink. People who work there are friendly, but I think that it's because they actually are instead of being forced to be so.
Plus, you can sit outside with a view of the boating lake, which is extremely nice.
Everything is pretty pricey, but usually worth it.
M. H.
Breakfast and brunch next to the lake is the best thing you can do in Victoria Park. They have fresh pastries baked locally everyday - and that almond croissant! <3
F. C.
Nice and friendly breakfast place
Coffee norma
Food great
J. B.
Busy at the weekends but don't let that put you off. Pavilion serve great vegetarian brunch options as well as fresh bread and pastries. Well worth a visit.
G. S.
Great bagel tbh
J. B.
Great food and great coffee, and a lovely view of the lake.
C. E.
Great food with a lovely view. Mainly large shared tables inside with lots of space outside weather permitting.
M. L.
Went for brunch on a sunny Sunday. Was lucky to get a table straight away. Really good food and brilliant view. The iced coffee was good too
S. M.
Doesn't look much from the outside and so we were just expecting a small cafe but inside was much different than we imagined. Lots of freshly made produce (mainly baked goods - sourdough breads, pan au chocolate, croissants etc), also so hot snacks - toastie, muffins etc and a range of coffees, as well as other fresh produce and snacks. Very nice coffee and cookie, thanks!
s. h.
5/5 because the experience, location and food was splendid! Ordered smoked salmon and eggs, veggie breakfast. The filter coffee flavours were also great, very fruity and less acidic.
B. S.
Best brunch place in the summer 😊👍
An even when its not so summery its good
N. H.
The sri lankan breakfast was worth it and a great vegetarian option!
J.
Good coffee & OK food.
Our order of two Shri Lankan breakfasts came out separately with a 5 minute interval.
Some background music would be a nice addition.
D. H.
The coffee is tasty and the pastries are delicious! Really open and friendly customer service. One of them correctly guessed my name too - the even better coincidence was that his name was Dan too! Would definitely recommend, if not for the nourishment - for Dan ;)
E. m.
Great location, outdoor seating looking at the park. Cool cafe and great food options. The lankan breakfast was ok, avocado eggs and toast better, coffee pretty good.
R. A.
One of my favorite places to go to in the morning. Great location, inside Victoria Park with a lake view. Staff is great, Callum and Alister are super friendly, food is brilliant and they have good quality coffee!
L. C.
Had coffee and a bun to have in the park. The food menu seemed good and worth a return visit to try it
J. C.
Good coffee and great views of Victoria Park. Outdoor seatings with a view of the lake. Friendly staff. Prices Ok.
R. C.
Exceptional baked goods and coffee - all three of the turmeric, cardamom and cinnamon buns are worth a try. Especially peaceful first thing in the morning, a perfect spot to grab a coffee and sit by the lake.
A. A. C.
Lovely brunch for the summer make sure you get the pancakes and the Sri Lankan food it was AMAZING loved the pork
J. W.
Great coffee and foods, menu and prices could use a refresh
L. S.
The cinnamon and turmeric buns are outstanding (you can also get them at the Pavilion shop on Broadway Market).
The highlight here is the outstanding Sri Lankan food. Always impressed with it and left wanting more.
The chai is also good.
And you can't really beat the setting, being right next to the pond in the midst of Victoria Park.
O. H.
We really enjoyed food and location.
d. j.
Great selection, excellent coffee. Friendly staff
J. P.
A brunch idyll. The setting is quintessential modern, gentrified East London, with al fresco diners ranging from yummy mummies with toddlers to well-heeled young families; sweating runners to industrious cyclists. It's a hub of energy and conversation, with the best views in the East End. Once upon a time it was a shell of the original cafe abandoned to post-war decay and urban poverty. How times have changed, and the brilliant Antipodean bakery group that is running it deserves great credit for revitalising this essential cornerstone of Victoria Park life.
k. D.
Busy on the weekends but really tasty food, service is quick. Highly recommended the chai tea
T. V.
A great coffee, brunch and lunch place situated near the lake in Victoria Park.
They now stock bread and other grocery items. In the summer, they have an outdoor area which serves cocktails.
The staff are cheery, helpful and polite. It has been a real god send during the pandemic. It's been my regular pit stop for a coffee and a pastry after long runs for a while now!
M. N.
The pavilion is ok. It is slap bang in the middle of quality. Service is lacking, granola is nice , coffee is not great, muffins are 7/10. For the price and hype it’s an underwhelming experience.
S. B.
Lovely cafe in the park... prices for one person is estimated at 12-13 pp healthy options...
D. B.
I love the Sri Lankan breakfast and Sri Lankan chai. Yum! Arrive early on a nice day to get a good spot outside. Also really like the sourdough bread they sell.
A. P.
Great coffee but would be nice if the staff smiled once in a while. Nice little pastries and bread to go although slightly overpriced.
A. R.
Best coffee I've had in London. Friendly staff and good pastries.
F. v. A.
This breakfast cafe is ok but nothing special. Food options are a little limited. Also toilets (being park toilets) are beyond unusable - don't use your imagination...
T. C.
Superb coffee and excellent quality food and service with a fantastic view
A. M.
Square mile coffee prepared very well and a Sri Lankan twist on some great brunch options. Very tasty.
S. V.
Good food, super nice location
S. B. L. S.
Very nice environment and clean comfortable Pavilion Cafe. I visited lots of Times and drinks Flat White coffee. Amazing 👏 ❤❤❤👌
A. P.
Expensive but delicious. Almond pain au chocolat is amazing
J. S.
Amazing location (when it's not raining) amazing food (always)
D.
This is a lovely little coffee shop situated near the boating lake. I haven't had the pleasure of using their services, but it does seem very popular as there are usually lots of people queuing up or seated around it.
g. s.
Best omg. Great cafe by the lake and watching the fowl.
E. D.
A bit expensive but it's a nice experience, the food is real nice and there is quantity AND quality !
E. B.
A decent park cafe, not the widest range of products / options but as you'd expect for this kind of place. Good quality food / drink, though they could improve their GF / vegan offering.
C. A.
a bit pricy but worth it!
a. o.
Love it, fresh bread is worth going back for. Great service, they use cards no cash, order and pay, give name and await your name being called to collect. One way system and hand gel available, space outside to site. Hands, face and space.
a. L.
Really nice cafe in Viccy park. They have a great Sri Lankan selection of dishes which is a must. Coffees and breakfast all great and a lovely spot to sit by the lake and watch the world go by. It is however, always super super busy so just be prepared to queue, particularly if the sun's out.
R.
I was impressed by the speed of service when there was a large queue. It went down very quickly.
They clearly have a system and it works. They also have a large selection of baked goods like brownies which looked so good!
I managed to resist and had an ice cream from a van in the park instead.
Coffee tasted good and can definitely recommend the place if you are in the park.
Good seating area next to the water outside too.
S. T.
Great place to have cofee and breakfast ! Very expensive !
J. E.
Love this location, especially on a sunny day. The baked goods are fabulous.
S. M. C.
Brilliant cafe in Victoira park. Nice outside lunch in cafe.
J. H.
My local fave: whether it’s the breakfast roll with egg and kimchi or the lunch special... it’s always dreamy. I love my ritual of walking here with the dog and a friend, grabbing a coffee or a hot choc. Such a local gem 😍😍😍
D. M.
Good food, drinks, staff, vibe and ducks and birds
N. F.
Love this place, they have the best toasties and hot chocolate❤️
C. N.
Very nice sri-lankan breakfast
B.
The food is good but some things are better value than others. Two portions of soup for example just cost me £15. It's tasty, but not £7.50 tasty. Also, and this is subjective I know, but Minor Figures is no match for Oatly.
B. F.
Bit hipster-ey yet they don’t have coconut milk. Haven’t eaten there since pre pandemic but the food is usually nice, despite always adding some random unnecessary ingredient to make it more fancy (and less nice)
j. s.
Lovely food tea brew wow and view lake omg
D. M. C. F.
Really nice place, to have a coffe with a lovely friend
C. W.
If there were cafe goals in life then the Pavilion Cafe has set the standard pretty high. I’ve never been disappointed by the quality of coffee, the menu selection for brunch or their array of baked goods. Staff are lovely too.
J. S.
Oh but they have the best pain au raisin and lovely Hackney Gelato ice cream. You can sit looking out across the lake at the fountain... just brilliant.
S. V.
Wow the vegan breakfast is incredible - so many mushrooms, great beans and loads of avocado. The ‘roti’ was a bit tough and unusual, but was nice to have something different to bread. Please consider using reusable cups and glasses for the ‘eat in’ coffee and orange juice though 🙏
R. R.
Good food, great cafe and awesome location! Really good Sunday morning spent here
E. P.
Seriously good coffee, great baked goods, handmade pantry items and of course a great place to sit and relax. Easy to recommend.
C. T.
Really tasty coffee and all the food I’ve tried has been great, especially the cheese and kimchi toastie. My lockdown would definitely be much worse without this place to go to for a treat and to escape the flat.
R. C.
Gorgeous healthy food with a lovely views.
A. A. C.
Amazing Sri Lankan brunch, sadly the hopper wasn't in the menu anymore :( was so delicious!!!
r. y.
Great food, great place. The food is great, nicely cooked, quite a bit of variety for a relatively little place. my one tiny bit of constructive feedback is that they could have at least the option of some bacon or sausage. while I loved the veggie breakfast I think options for everyone would be better. otherwise nice staff, cool place and well cooked delicious food with a stunning setting especially today with the sunniest day of the year so far
S. R.
Nice setting on the lake, but way overpriced
S. V.
Almond croissant, cardamom bun are my personal fav. Coffee is pretty on point and a good view every time I've been. Not tried their brunch dishes, this review is based on me having only tried the pastry and coffee
E. H.
The Sri Lankan breakfast is soooo good
S. C.
Chai is a staple purchase. Naughty treats of pastries and a board platter of delicious, seasonal bowl foods destined to make you go for a walk in Victoria Park to fight off the food slump. They could do with indoor seating when the weather gets colder but a great place nonetheless.
T. G.
Been a great place to get through lockdown, always has lovely food (the egg muffin and Sri lankan breakfast are both awesome!) and actual authentic chai tea - worth the visit for the chai alone!
J. Z.
Great quality and tasty breakfasts, brunches and baked goods, though I miss my bacon and sausage, lol. Top notch coffee. There may be negatives( there is always room for improvement) but I will leave others to talk about those, I love it!
d. s.
The place is so nice and perfect for a Sunday morning breakfast
E. H.
Good value and quality coffee in a cute location, perfect for a weekend morning
D. M. d. C.
Lovely cafe by the lake in the park. Delicious coffee, tasty breakfasts/brunch (I had wild mushrooms on toast which was brilliant). They are also a bakery and have tasty sourdough loaves on par with e5 bakery. Not super cheap but if you prefer splashing out a little in a cafe than the lake then well worth it.
L. C.
Nice view, but they seemed to forget that we had ordered
G. C.
Really nice place. Its got a lot of seat and really good views. It's a bit expensive but still manage to get huge crowds on bank holidays or warm weekends, so probably actually priced too cheaply if it's that full
The people who ran the cafe are incredibly nice and kind, and cant rate them enough.
Their bread and buns are also banging, would recommend
Great place, decent prices for views and places to sit etc.
S.
Avocado on toast here is generous and incredible. Lovely staff, great coffee and a beautiful setting
M. H.
Awesome breakfast selection. Went there for several times and still finds it one of the best cafe around east London. Ingredients are fresh, pancakes are fabulously done can tell they have used nice eggs for it, mushrooms on toast is excellent. A perfect place for weekend brunch!
M. R.
I visited the Cafe today mornig. It was busy, nice view of the lake from the cafe. Was looking forward to my Srilankan meal which was priced £10.00. Therefore I was expecting nice decent portion meal. However I was disappointed with portion size. Portion that came could hardly be classed as a meal. Certainly not enough for the price they are charging. Therefore although food I found tasty but portion size very poort. Hence the reason for
3 stars in my opinion.
M. D.
Winter adjustments are perfect. Big covered area outside, wider range of pastries, a mini on site deli and a reduced hot menu which really works. I can definitely recommend the new egg and cheese muffin.
E. c.
Lovely café right on the lake in the middle of Victoria Park. Limited seating indoors so wrap up warm in the winter! Great coffee (for takeaway too) with a good selection of tasty cakes and brunch options. It gets really busy even on weekdays, but the service is quick and friendly. Children and buggy friendly.
T. R.
If you think you're just coming here for breakfast with a view over the lake you'll be pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and drink.
A table full of pastries compliment a great breakfast offering - I particularly enjoyed the kippers with potato cakes.
The queues can often look long but service is quick and efficient!
H. W.
Great breakfast/coffee bar in the heart of Victoria Park. Indoor and outdoor seating (over the pond which is nice)be prepared to share a bench. Wheelchair access and dog and child friendly. Toilets are the public ones situated hear bye. Can get very busy on weekends for brunch as popular with families, runners and dog owners. Food is mainly breakfast, tastes great and has recently added a Sri Lankan twist to the menu - really tasty. Good selection of drinks and fresh breads available to buy on their own.
Prices are not cheap but not ridiculously expensive, especially being near Victoria Park village.

This place was a game changer when it opened and now it's incredibly popular and gets really busy at peak times. Now vegetarian. They make all their food from scratch and use great organic ingredients hence higher prices. Great bakery - I often stop to buy my bread from here. Their cinnamon/cardamom buns the best but rather expensive.
T. B.
Surprisingly into this place (most park places I find a bit stale). This place has awesome food and coffee in a great setting. It's always busy, but service is quick and I always find a place to sit outside. My only complaint is the poached eggs were a bit too runny and the cinnamon pastry wasn't very gooey cinnamon.
B. T.
Delicious coffee. A wonderful spot for a warming drink and staff. And very dog friendly
E. N.
Enjoyable drinks and pastries, very popular with locals who queue up in any weather. Won't say it's the best in the area but the staff are always warm and polite, worth a try.
M.
My favourite little stop off to break up the monotony of lockdown. Can't wait till we're allowed to eat in but the takeaway options, cardomom and cinnamon buns, cheese toasties and Dahl are to die for. Thanks for being a beacon of light in the madness of Covid.
j. a.
My partner told me about this place. We went there for my birthday over a year ago and keep going back since then you could say I'm a regular. Amazing coffee bread and the some more exotic food I have eaten is epic. You could say the are big in the cafe game and I highly recommend this place. Well done
E. F.
Great setting in Victoria Park next to the water, and always buzzing. As such sometimes the queue wraps all the way out of the building and round the corner. I think all of the seating is outside which is nice, and they have umbrellas for sun and rain!
The brunch/lunch menu is yummy, and I would love to visit more often but it’s a bit pricey. The sourdough bread to take away is very good though again it’s expensive at £3.50 a loaf.
A. T.
Sri Lankan themed vegetarian cafe. Great views and tasty dishes but horrible coffee and fairly expensive
a.
I popped in here whilst out for a run to have a coffee and toast. I hadn't realised it is card only and I only bought cash with me. The guy who served me was amazing and said I can pay next time! Restored my faith in humanity in one simple gesture. Will definitely go here regularly whilst in the park. The coffee and toast were really good too.
M. W.
There is little doubt that this place does delicious bread and very good coffee. 5 stars for this.
However, as a regular customer of the Pavilion for the last five years, I have noticed a dramatic increase in price of their coffee to the point where it is now simply too expensive.
An espresso at the Pavilion today costs £2.50. If my calculations are right, this represents a minimum of a 25% increase in the cost of an espresso at the Pavilion today compared with five years ago. There may be an operational reason for this, but it's not because the real cost of coffee has increased by £5% over this period. Global wholesale coffee prices today are actually at their lowest level since 2008.
Overheads are a reality for the Pavilion, and I'm sure they are significant (because of its location, produce, staff wages etc), but it's got to the point now where I'm going elsewhere to get my espresso shot because the Pavilion's prices are too high.
There are multiple other great options near Victoria Park that do an excellent brew for, sometimes, 39% less (ie. the Corner Cafe - £1.80 for a great espresso).
The Pavilion will always have lots of occasional weekend customers because it does make delicious stuff and it's in a great location. But to many locals living near the park, some things on the menu (like the cost of an espresso) have become prohibitively expensive, especially when nearby competitors do excellent coffee and brunch for a fraction of the price.
J. F.
This is a very nice and friendly place with healthy food but quite expensive. Two poached eggs with avocado and salmon on a toast plus a cuppa and small roll cost me over £17. The Hub Cafe in the other part of the park is equally nice but cheaper.
E. G.
Lovely cafe with amazing sour dough. Recommend the avacado and dukha on toast!
G. H.
All good
Laid back lake view dining
A. M.
Everything here is spot on - food, coffee, service and seating.
i. h.
Very expensive, but atmosphere was nice.
S. m.
Expensive food (£11.95 for a 12" inch pizza) and considering there wasn't many people, our pizza took too long to arrive, and that too burnt around crust. It also looked like a 10inch pizza.
L. L.
Perfect location, great view, captive audience. Too often this is a recipe for a mediocre product. This is not the case here: good food choice, excellent coffee professionally brewed with attention to detail. A good destination after a pleasant walk along the canal.
M. B.
Really tasty coffee, smooth and tangy without the burnt taste that espresso often has. The sourdough is amazing - go and buy it RIGHT NOW. Also the staff are friendly and they have a good selection of beers and soft drinks.
A. W.
The Pavilion is a must visit café, especially in the summer. The ques are long but the service is so fast you'll only be in it for a few minutes. Getting a table, especially for a group of more than 4 is rough, especially on a busy day, and it's self-serve so be ready to share and embrace the community feel.
Food is good, coffee is great.
Ambience? Well the lake is absolutely lovely, and provides a near perfect background for a classic London Sunday breakfast; Dogs, pushchairs, bicycles, ducks, and a bunch of east-London's finest young 20-30 somethings pretending the weather is far nicer than it really is.
Highly recommended, will probably go tomorrow.
C. W.
So lovely!
M. M.
One of the best breakfasts in London. If it's sunny, it's the ideal location
J. G. R.
Great quality coffee with very friendly and professional staff. They also bake very decent bread. It's just nearby Victoria Park lake with indoor and outdoor sitting. So ideal stop for runners, families or just yourself having your chilling out time.
J. L.
Croissants are top notch and the atmosphere in the morning along the lake is lovely.
P. B.
A lovely place to have breakfast!
H. O.
Amazing food In really cool Park by the pond with thé ducks. A highlight of Hackney.
S. D.
Good coffee! I'm yet to try the food, but that looks great also. Very friendly staff & a great view of the park, whether you are strolling a long for a takeaway coffee or planning to sit & enjoy the view this spot is perfect.
A. C.
Lovely cafe always super busy so getting a seat can be quite difficult and especially over winter as the indoor seating space is small. I've not yet managed to get a table to eat here. They have their bread and pastries bought in from Pavillon and Fabrique so delicious. Coffee is good but it's always only luke warm which is a shame so now I only get the filter.
S.
The cafe has freshly baked bread and pastry and all veggie breakfast/lunch options. It's beautiful to sit by the lake and enjoy a coffee and pastry then go for a walk around the park. Outside the park there are some cool locals places to eat and drink so have wonder. Café closes at 3 I think.
N. A.
Like a well oiled machine, they operate so efficiently. No friendly banter though! Just line up take ur “delicious” order and go.
E. D.
This place is the perfect stopping point for a neighbourhood walk. Their food menu is excellent and their coffee line is long but worth the wait!
M. C.
Nice place for a coffee in the park. Dog friendly, kind staff, having tables outside. Can be crowded during sunny days but then you can take your coffee and sit on the grass.
G.
Fabulous location by the lake in Victoria park. Breakfasts are served all day with the lunch menu starting from midday. Coffees are very good and served up well. Eggs royale and eggs Florentine are simply fantastic. Fresh ingredients are used in all dishes and it all adds up to a truly nice cafe in the park.
O. C.
Great food. It can be a bit chaotic in the summer months at weekends. Coffee is really good. Also the bread they sell from their bakery is banging. It is definitely worth a trip for that alone.
M. P.
Cafe in Victoria Park, serving the usual fare, hot and cold drinks, food and cake.
Prices reasonable, staff friendly, service quick, card only
H. S.
This place was rated number one on the app London Coffee, so we came with high expectations. On first impressions, it didn't seem to be all that crash hot but it must be rated number one for a reason. The coffee was fantastic and the breakfast, was one of the best I've had since living in London. My boyfriend had black pudding and bone marrow- he loved it. The cakes were amazing and we left having head, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea!!!
S. M.
Lovely little cafe with nice views of the park. Breakfasts are quite pricey so I opted for a pastry which was lovely. Coffee is nice although the portion was a little on the small side. Staff are pleasant. Nice little pitstop.
s. f.
We were still in lockdown but were getting takeaway coffees...safely set up and spaced places to sit outside, great coffee!
D. V. A.
Best oatmilk flat white, best croissants ever.
I. S.
Charming little café with gorgeous view of the lake (and all its feathery inhabitants) and the greenery of the Victoria Park.
Friendly and welcoming staff, who make some of the best cappuccinos in here :)
Most of the food and ingredients are locally sourced. And it’s very hard to resist their display of mouth-watering freshly baked breads and pastries.
I love to sit back, relax and watch the dog-walkers, runners, and cyclist go by while enjoying my drink and food :)
B. M.
Nice spot next to the lake with a very nice range of Brunch options and excellent freshly squeezed orange juice. Can be difficult at times to get a seat so get there early if you don't want to wait by benches and awkwardly have to run at the sight of the first available spot and then have to deal with an argumentative couple who claim they have been waiting since the opening of Victoria park in 1845 and feel that by shouting louder then will win the coveted lakeside seats. Unfortunately for them, as they focused on ranting and raving I had positioned my posterior onto the said seats and proclaimed myself master of that particular domain....Needless to say...I had my Poached Eggs and Avocado toast before they did...The only downside of this place is the cost!! Very expensive!! They once fooled my into paying nearly £2 for a single piece of Streaky bacon....I applaud their audacity...but never, never again shall you fool me into buying your bacon!!!
A. G.
Great coffee, massive pastry, service with lots of smiles, perfect setting by the lake.
S. D.
Wonderful menu and view across the boating lake, major shame that every other Londoner appears to hit it the minute the sun comes out. Menu far more interesting than nearly every other park cafe out there, so worth scrumming for a seat.
I. R.
A must visit in East London. Brilliant.
The food is incredibly fresh. For breakfast expect chunky bacon, organic sausages, home made baked beans or even delicious pancakes with praline and maple syrup.
With more seats than before you don't even have to wait to get eating now.
K.
Nice setting. Currently here, Wednesday, 16h. There's a screeching door, which is a bit disturbing. More disturbing is that they're already trying to close up. I had to move tables. "We close early when we're not busy." But it is busy 🙄 Everyone forced to fewer tables, one hour before closing time, because the whims of the workers. Sweeping and cleaning while kids chat at my table. An hour before official closing time. Annoying.
K. W.
Excellent food, excellent service. A little pricey (£5->£10 for breakfast) but excellent and interesting.
Great meeting spot to walk to Roman Road or generally see the park, get there early to guarantee a seat before it gets too hot and popular in the summer!
M. R.
Very good coffee and food. A beautiful spot for a nice breakfast or lunch overlooking the pond. A favourite of mine as a local. Can be quite busy in the weekends, specially if the weather is warm
A. K.
Awesome breakfasts. Great ingredients, friendly staff. Also boasts the best (most authentic) cup of chai in London. Can be hard to get a seat inside when the weather isn't great.
J. 2.
If you are visiting Victoria park you must try Pavilion for a brunch or even for a coffee. It is super tasty organic food and the coffee is delicious. Try the traditional egg hopper. It is worth every spoon.
I. F.
Lovely cafe by the lake in Victoria Park. Serves good coffee and a great selection of fresh snacks. Perfect place to meet for a bike ride especially if heading out towards Essex.
j. m.
I love the Pavilion, one of my favourite, love the staff, location etc.. However, Today I went in for my usual mega breakfast. The menu has changed. No more Muesli which was delicious. Instead, I ordered the Bacon sandwich thinking I would get the usual Yumi BLT. Instead, I got 2 pieces of bread with bacon and butter. It was bog standard and disappointing. It feels like the new Pavilion menu has been designed by an algorithm. Please Pavilion, review your new menu, I want to carry on going there. Happy to give more feedback if you want to get in touch.
S. M.
Great little waterside cafe in Victoria Park offering excellent bread and a nice selection of freshly made sandwiches, brunch dishes and pastries. Grab a seat overlooking the water (if you're lucky) to enjoy your baked goods or cup of coffee.
M. H.
Basically in my backyard! Always packed on the weekends, especially on beautiful sunny days. I find the prices to be a bit high, but for a coffee and pastry (which are delicious!), it's not bad. Beat the crowds by getting there early!
J. Q.
Forget all the usual brunch menu- although that is also v good- the dhal here is amazing.
s.
Like something out of a film. Can be too busy at times but like I don’t blame them.
R. D.
Great outside seating area on the lake, and super tasty sweet treats. Have been for breakfast which is nice too. Coffee is also great, will return!
d. J.
Great place in Summer to sit by a lake, watch the ducks fly. The café staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is good with vegetarian options.
They also sell sourdough bread which looks great.
D. T.
Having lived in East London/Bethnal Green all my life, ate at the Pavilion Café for the first time today with family, and was disappointed. T
Was lovely to sit outside by the lake on a sunny day like today, but the lunchtime menu was sadly lacking. Not much of a selection that we could see, unlike breakfast menu which does look great.
Also, found service a tad slow, considering there were so many staff.
I know they are catering for a certain customer and obviously don't want to go the route of burgers & chips etc, but maybe a selection of jacket potatoes, a pasta dish or even a bigger and more inspiring sandwich select (and a kids menu) would be a consideration.
Coffee expensive and served in very small cups too.
Would go back for the breakfast, but for lunch would go elsewhere.
S. G.
One of my favourite cafes in London based within Victoria Park overlooking fountains and serving the highest quality food.
May need to be a little patient as its brilliance is no secret but totally worth it. If you're lucky one of the tables works well but so does sitting on the grass if the weather's nice enough.
Make the effort to visit.
R. T.
Their pastries are amazingly good, among the best in London. The staff however is surprisingly rude.
V. Y.
The cafe is clean and with a good selection of beverages but the toilets are tiny and difficult to get in and out due to the size. When I went to Victoria park it was a Sunday and maybe too many people for the toilets to be enough.
The water in the washing hands facilities was not coming :-/
P. P.
We've been more less regular at Pavilion since the beginning - less recently due to change of location. Coffee it's been always a main reason for coming back but different outings of the food offer throughout the years deserve the top ratings. Today veggie breakfast and Sri Lankan breakfast were delicious as always. We're occasional meat eaters but with meals like that you can see yourself giving up carne for good. Cu soon
C. M.
Great out door venue on a lovely sunny day for drinks and food. Social distancing is observed
C. G.
This is my daughter's favourite place and she is the pickiest eater EVER!! She even likes the turmeric buns. Usually she would squirm at the idea of unknown flavours in her food. Pavilion is a treat for all (:
R. P.
Really nice coffee. This is one of my favourite places to show visitors for the pastries and location.
One morning, coming here after a cycle around Victoria park, it was just so nice grabbing a coffee looking out over the lake.
n. b.
Delicious, fresh, interesting brunches and yummy good coffee. Nice staff and great location. Gets busy at the weekend
S. A.
Coffee in the park, such a relief after I have realised I forgot my homemade coffee at home. Good cookies and sweet juice for my son.
J. S.
Some of the best food I ate in London.
Quality and price is unbeatable, the coffee is always perfect and the staff is friendly .
And I'm not just saying that because they gave me free pancake with butterscotch, banana and creme Fraiche last time I went there.
So pengggggggggg ..
G. A.
Waw... the food looks really good, the quality is great and the prices are not bad. Too bad they took meat out of the menu just an FYI as I went here hoping to grab a bite of their full English and ended up eating salmon and eggs as my protein, really good salmon though!
R. B.
Easily in my top two favorite brunch spots in all of London.
Fresh bakery items, high quality Square Mile coffee and the best Veggie Brekkie are all unmatched across London. During the summer they also do lovely fresh salads (for example goats curd and courgette). When you add the chance to sit by the water, watch the swans and follow your meal with a walk around Victoria Park or the canal it is truly unbeatable.
A gorgeous setting with food that matches the views!
K. K.
I love pavilion, great coffee and chai. We always get their Sri Lankan breakfast, but lately the portion sizes are just so small we are never satisfied. Love the place, but is now to pricey for what you get.
A. E.
The ideal cafe. Welcoming and friendly staff, fantastic food and drink and a beautiful spot on the lake in Victoria Park. Summer mornings sitting outside is a great start to the day. The cafe is now all veggie too.
J. P.
Really like their brunch, remember to spice it up with extras. Nice vegetarian options. Expensive Coffee is hit and miss but mostly, larger size would provide more value.
r. b.
They all ways do nice coffee they are a little price but it's a park cafe that can be expected they have now started serving out door area and a cafe outside so that's nice
K. N.
The perfect Sunday consists of going for a run around Victoria Park and then refuelling here. The food is healthy, generous and comes to your table super quick. There's plenty of seating inside where you order or if you prefer to watch the park go-ers, ducks and swans outside; there are lots of benches to park yourself on for a couple of good hours or so. This place isn't as crowded closer to about 1-2pm. I'd highly recommend the smashed avo with poached egg on toast, and then grab any one of the hot drinks because they're all ace. Winning combination of a run and brunch because... you can't spell BRUNCH without RUN ;-) (Sorry, just had to!)
B. S.
Try to go there on a sunny week day so you will have a better choice where to sit and more relax atmosphere. Enjoy not only the park view but also nice selection of teas and independent coffee selection and definitely pick something from the all day brekfast menu. Service may not be as attending as you would like but it os not really metters ones you get your well made food and drink with the view :)
J. C.
Get there early to avoid the long queue. It's a lovely place for brunch on a sunny day. Great food from the menu and the bakery. Good coffee as well!
D. C.
Nice little eccentric cafe.
M. M.
Joined the queue to buy a ice cream for my son unfortunately they do not take cash due to covid and I did not take my card. The man gave the £2.50 ice cream and said just pay next time and this is the first time iv been here.
C. M.
Locally sourced produce dominates this funky, family friendly cafe in the middle of Victoria Park. The breakfast menu will tantalise your tastebuds and the long black coffee is seriously decent. Nice view of the pond/ducks/boating lake. Chilled out vibe. You can also buy breads, oils etc. Yum!
A. G.
I came here on a Sunday afternoon to visit a friend, the place is just by the boating lake so it's a fantastic location. Inside the café there seemed to be a Sri Lankan theme (foodwise) as well as traditional breakfast/lunch and a good range of teas/coffees and the home made bread and cakes looked fantastic, I had to really resist and stick to my healthy eating regime.
As a Yorkshireman, I had to have the builders tea (although it wasn't Yorkshire Tea) which was very nice, my friend had the Lemongrass and Ginger and said it was very nice. Very busy and no table seating left, so we made our way to one of the park benches nearby and had a lovely chat with our lovely tea.
Definitely a great place for a nice stroll, just off the canal aswell, it could be quite romantic with the right person ;-)
L. T.
A bit pricey, bench uncomfortable tables not level had to stand my bottle of water on the bench, nice view of the lake, sandwich and lemon drizzle cake scrumptious
N.
Wholemeal breads are the bests in London. They don't have decaf coffee which is a shame but overall bread and pastries are rather good.
E. B.
Friendly staff, amazing bread which truly tastes of sour dough, good quality meals. It's a pity we live so far away, otherwise we would be buying the bread there and having lunch there more often.
A.
Despite the pandemic and the stress associated with it, pavilion kept its standards high and offers a great and delicious variety of food to take away! Pavilion rocks
A.
Somewhat pricey, but a decent hot chocolate
A. A.
Cosy little cafe with great brunch / lunch options.
a. v. d. e.
I only came across this little gem the other day by accident and I absolutely loved it. Fresh sourdough bread, great brunch options and and wonderful views of the park and pond. When I was there they had a couple of Sri Lankan dishes on offer including traditional Sri Lankan breakfast (it was super authentic as we went to Sri Lanka a couple of years ago), a curry and also homemade Chai tea.
C. A.
A bit on the pricey side but convenient enough. Need more coffee options.
F. W.
Still don't quite understand how these guys justify charging £8.50 for avocado on toast?! You can get same around corner on Roman Rd for under £5. The coffee is good though.
J. E.
Lovely place in the park but seems to be getting stingy with portions. Friends and I used to come here all the time for pancakes, used to come with a hazelnut butter, loads of fruit and a good helping of maple syrup for 3 pancakes, now there's only 2 pancakes, creme fraiche, a tiny helping of banana and treacle, who wants treacle on a pancake
P. H.
Set in Victoria Park, one of my favourites. There is seating right next to the pond/lake, a perfect pitstop.
V. B.
One of the best cafes I have ever been
B. A.
Today was the perfect day to have brunch with friends at the pavilion. Right beside the pond with perfectly made poached eggs in my benedict and florentine. Not to mention the perfect coffees they make! During the winter they also have the BEST chai lattes. Andrea's cakes and cookies are also sold here after the pastries are gone - delicious & homemade.
M. K.
Excellent customer service. After a mistake led to a delay in my food arriving I was given a full refund without having to ask. I was so impressed I immediately reinvested the money in a round of flat whites for the boys.
D. D.
Located next to the main pond in Victoria Park, The Pavilion offers a large selection of hot and cold food and beverages. Enjoy your food seated by the pond offering views of the park.
R. W.
A good cafe. But too hyped, there are many good cafes like this
S. M.
Great cafe, last time I went they had no croissants to buy.
C. H.
Great spot to take a bite to eat or grab a a quick coffee, and watch the world go round. The park certainly has improved since the olympics its one of my favourite. Take a walk along regents canal and explore broadway market on a Saturday for that hipster artisan food vibe.
D. D.
Really quick, high quality food and drink are the positives - the negatives come from it being so well run that it's absolutely rammed at times and the queue can be daunting. Very child friendly - which is both good and bad!
C. G.
Best spot in London to experience the local east London vibes.
M. D.
The place cafe is close to a senic setting on a lake, on a weekend it is extremely busy and the queues are out the door there is not a lot of seats, there is seating outside though the menus look interesting I did not get a chance to try them due to it being so busy will try another day when it's quiter.
P. F.
Sit by the boating lake, eat some of the tastiest bacon sandwiches in the East End, enjoy their freshly made lemonade or iced teas, and enjoy the balmy summer atmosphere of Victoria Park...
You and the entire population of the south of England, or so it can feel. Competition for a table can get hair-raisingly fierce when the sun is shining, especially those by the water. Perhaps, people enjoy feeding some of their delicious lunch to the waterfowl.
Though with the prices charged here, I doubt you'd want to give any up to the ducks. I appreciate this must be an expensive venture to run, and that the gentrification of the Hackney area is in full swing, but some of the prices here are astronomical. It's a shame, as this should be a hub for locals and tourists alike, and sadly, it seems to be more of a playground for those with the extra cash.
If you don't mind forking out for what is admittedly good food and a lovely spot to eat it in, then all is well. For a more bargainous trip, stop by Tesco in Hackney for some sandwiches, find a shaded spot, and enjoy the atmosphere on the cheap.
N. C.
This is a very nice place to sit for a coffee. And I love their bread. However I wish they had some vegan cakes or pastries.
J. J.
Excellent breakfast, we had the Sri Lankan with string hoppers and the Egg Hopper, don't think you could get better Sri Lankan food without the flight.
A.
Alright punk, ask yourself 3 questions ... Do I like coffee? Do I enjoy experiencing the nature and tranquility of our city's royal parks? Would I be opposed to a café on a picturesque lake in said parks? Should your answer essentially align to, yes, do I ever, and nossir, I would not, then get your ass over here!
The café offers a fantastic menu of snacks and artisanal meals. Seating skirts the edge of the lake and provides an unparalleled view of some of the best features of Vic Park. On top of which, the coffee is great, there's a chai tea that shouldn't be missed, and a good selection of local craft bottles.
S. L.
Sorry, can't leave any feedback about the food, just had cup of tea but the place next to water is awesome, specially now, in Autumn when leaves are so beautifully coloured :)
S.
Tries to be a "go to" hipster place
Quality was low and price was high
Latte was served in a tiny glass suitable for a flat white.
Eggs Benedict muffin was 1 day old and stale
Only come here for a tea and maybe a cookie
View was good tho
J. M.
You can get a cup of tea for only £1.50. Recently I arrived after they were closed but they still have me a cup of tea FREE because the till was closed. Wonderful bunch of people who work really hard.
M. G.
A mainstay in Viccy Park. Get there early to snag a spot (or have hawkeyes to quickly spot leaving patrons!) They have an eclectic menu- don’t be afraid to try one of their more asian inspired dishes... it’s all delicious:)
D. V. A.
Great place, 3rd generation café Skype, with nice food and friendly staff. A bit pricey for Woolwich average person, but the audience is clearly those buying the new built developments.
B.
A true little find. I could have the Sri Lankan breakfast every day. Breads and coffee are top notch, and staff is super friendly.
K.
Great seating areas outdoors and surrounding the lake. Wonderful spot for a coffee or brunch in the park! All veggie food!
C. S.
The café is the best. Smallish selection but super yummy and the children's portions are spot on. Reasonably priced too. Plus vast majority is eco friendly!
A. A.
We went on a Monday of a Bank holiday. The food was great and the service was just perfect even though it was packed. The relax and the sun made the visit even more worthy!
J. R.
Lovely setting. Good coffee and veggie food. Friendly efficient service. Well worth the detour if walking the canal.
S. S.
Very good coffee and breakfast. In a sunny day it's really nice to sit by the lake which is full of life. Ducks, swans, geese.
l. n.
Only ever come here for breakfast but the coffee and the cardamom buns are second to none and you can consume them whilst looking out over the lake. Perfect.
P. M.
Food is based on natural produce. A pleasant place to be but staff might be happier working in such a nice environment. Although this does not affect the food it does affect the overall experience
N. Š.
Don't be intimidated by the long line outside, it moves extremely fast and you'll be ok your way in no time!
S. M.
Lovely views, great coffee and good breakfast. Only four stars due to the slightly high prices and the fact that the staff is not always particularly nice.
R. V. O.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love Pavilion any more... the Sri Lankan breakfast has got even better, and they were extremely kind after a major coffee spillage ❤️
n. m.
Lovely little cosy place near the pond, beautiful view with a touch of nature
S. B.
Brilliant customer service ♥️
K. C.
Lovely choice of food and drinks. Very hot day and very busy.
R. S.
Surprisingly good cafe. Always busy but generally you can find a seat somewhere, or around the park. Coffee is good (flat white). Has decent Eggs Royale.
A. K.
Pretty good coffee and I like their avocado on toast. Really convenient if you are spending some time in Victoria Park.
S. B.
Cute cafe by the boating lake. This is a cafè not cafe. So food is medium priced. But some nice local brands of ice cream, honey etc
K.
Nice place for Sunday brunch but I don't understand why I was charged £1.50 extra for scrambled eggs that I chose instead of fried...It gets very busy too, so expect queues.
T. K.
Lovely place, good coffee, but why oh why do they need to serve such stingy size coffee? Please give us a mug or cup it will only cost you a few pence more!
H. C.
Great place if you like a busy, outdoor cafe. Great views of the main pond of the park. Arrive early as it is always full, especially in the weekends
J. R.
Food is amazing as is the location and atmosphere. Seating is outside only but under cover so okay if raining. Not sure about windy days though. Quite pricey, but it is next to the lake!
D. J. M. L.
Great spot in summer to get drinks! They have a big selection and they are very nice. It might be busy in weekends
H. Č.
I'm sorry, but sun dried tomatoes just don't belong in a BLT. Pretty frantic and full of young children. Average coffee. Great location!
A. S.
Beautiful place, good food, service could be way better and portions could be more generous. Their location is amazing, Victoria park is great.
B. L.
Coffee seems to have taken a dive. Very bland. They used to use square mile which was too notch. The breakfasts are a good
C. K.
Great coffee and pastries! Fab location especially on a warm sunny day. The cardamom buns are to die for!
T. P.
Great views , the staff were really friendly. we had the pavilion breakfast great tasty food we also brought some wholemeal sour dough bread wich tasted as good as it looked.
G. C.
They'll do you a cracking cheese toastie and a cuppa tea. Beetroot is unnecessary.
C. P.
Sri Lankan breakfast
E. S.
The meaning of life is their almond croissants
N. H.
Pavilion is must visit cafe. While it's well-known for breakfasts, being in the heart of Victoria park make its environment fantastic. Highly recommended for weekends!
M. H.

Sri Lankan breakfast is always HOPPING with those hoppers! So good . Such a great brunch spot

Great coffee, decent food. Nice place to hangout on a hungover Sunday, but the portions are pretty small so don't come here starving.
L. W.
Enjoyed some good coffee and cakes here. Can’t fault the location, but the service was a little chaotic inside and I found it overpriced.
D. L.
A great spot for some weekend brunch. Relatively busy with seating outside. Good sized portions and reasonable pricing.
J. C.
Come here regularly and it’s alright but could be better. The one on broadway market has way better coffee. But the food is nice and it’s on the pond in the park so
P. D.
Fabulous coffee and today an utterly amazing dhal, sambar and herbed roti. Highly recommend.

It's actually a tasty designer chip shop.
Add different flavours. Yum

Great selection of drinks and food. On edge of boating lake in Victoria park. Gets very busy and difficult to find anywhere to sit.
M. R.
Beautiful cafe in awesome location. Coffee is really good. And freshly made juices are really refreshing after a jog.

It's nice place to sit and have a coffee

I absolutely love this place. The food here is wonderful, the staff nice and the atmosphere by the pond just amazing. I come here everytime I have the occasion to do that.

Best English breakfast ever! Very good coffee!
Go there around 9 not later, otherwise it gets extremely busy.
M. S.
Really nice spot for breakfast/brunch. Nice fresh foods and beautiful park surroundings. There can be a wait on the weekends.

Amazing coffee and high quality food and gorgeous building for cold weather & outdoor seating for warmer weather!

I had a great croissant - really fresh. And they serve builders tea for £1 which every cafe should do!
A. J.
Loved this place! Friendly staff and great food. Try the Sri Lankan breakfast! Great views of the park too.
J. L.
Very nice when it's not cold or rainy!! Food quality is superb, although I never understood why I never liked their coffee.
A. W.
Great coffee and good service, you'll have to fight the crowds to get a seat though which is why I've never ordered food there.
A. B.
Are you unashamedly middle class? Do you enjoy sumptuous brunches with a pinch of artisanal foodstuffs? Can you handle sitting on the same table as other people in the very real likelihood this place is hopelessly overcrowded? Then this place is for you!
N.
Coffee was good, pastry also good. More outdoor seating would be appreciated.
H. A.
Great food, was busy but efficient. They messed up our order a bit, but were super friendly and gave us coffee to apologise and rectified it very quickly.
J. B.
Totally different brunch experience - the food is amazing well worth the trip and potential to share tables
D. H.
This is a true local gem that shouldn't be missed. Sri Lankan breakfast is a good alternative to avo-on-toast for vegans
d. w.
Lovely place to have a tea and pastry. The pain au chocolat was delicious and all the other pastries looked delectable!
R.
Staff trying to do their best in despite very busy days. Only thing that I disliked though, was the coffee cups without lids
R. E.
I love going here for a good coffee and a cinnamon bun, great quality food and even though it gets busy the service is still quick.
A. D.
Great coffee, didn't really get a chance to sample food as closes earlier than expected in the evening.
I. D.
Delicious brunch, nice place to relax and watch the lake and people.
i. V.
Such a wonderful breakfast place with a great view and lovely staff. Well priced honest food that tastes amazing.
R. H.
The Sri lankan breakfast is out of this world. Available throughout the day on week days. Excellent place for a post run reward.
P. S.
This place really is a gem. Fab pastries, fab coffee. Always a treat.
W.
Cheap cuppa you get what you pay for. Some of the members of staff need to learn how to smile
L. B.
Lovely place and lovely sandwiches. Will come back again.
J. O. C.
Lovely views and amazingly well prepared food for the extreme customer churn this place has. Would love if you could make reservations though
A. D.
Best coffee in London and really nice food 👌
Probably one of the best locations you can find for a sunny day 🌞😎
T. W.
Best sour dough loaf I've ever had! Every time I walk past I have to resist the urge to buy another!
A. R.
Good service, great quality food and drinks but I wish they'd bring the meat back and provide some wheat free options.
S. F.
Nice food...good veggie and vegan options, nice to pop in after a dog walk! But, over inflated prices...
N. T.
Delicious food. Amazing scenery!!

Perfect location, overlooking the lake, good food, but a bit expensive. Not very efficient staff, which results in long queues.
F. B.
Good coffee and nice seating on the lake, but lacks a bit of more healthy meal options.
T. R.
Wide choice of good food. Well run & efficient pleasant staff.
J. T.
This is a wonderful place, very nice view over the lake, delicious breakfast choices. Love this place!
P. B.
Nice food and drink options. A little expensive, and some options run out quickly at the weekends but broadly nice for a lunchtime buttie.
R. T.
Good food, friendly staff, if you are hungry is a good place to get food quickly and a baby friendly space! Try the field mushrooms on toast 👌🏽
J. C.
Decent coffee, friendly staff, and good bread. A fine place to stop when strolling around the park.
R. K.
Great location well over priced and unfortunately just gone vegetarian!!! Will have to find a new place for breakfast. The hub over the other side!
H. W.
Amazing sandwiches and super quick service, even when the (well-deserved) queue is out the door. Highly recommend!

Possibly the best corner of London for breakfast and brunch right now. Splendid setting by the pond, organic ingredients the right innovative twist ☕️🍳🥐🥖🥚🍴

Loving the grilled mussels!
