Reviews of Provender Restaurant
C. W.
Lovely little place with beautiful, tasty dishes. The menu had plenty of interesting, unique choices and was all reasonably priced. We had the French onion soup, lobster and shrimp cocktail, duck burger, and stone bass with bouillabaisse sauce. Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes!
C. P.
Absolutely delicious food with a great atmosphere. French restaurant with French servers and chefs. There is a set menu or you can choose an individual dish. The set menu is not available on a Friday or Saturday night however. The house red wine was divine and the steak frites was cooked exactly to my liking. They even had pietra - a Corsican beer. Cannot wait to visit here again!
C.
Cozy restaurant with hospitable staff. Every dish was delicious. Duck breast was juicy and tender, perfectly cooked with sweet Madeira sauce. Salmon platter was indeed good to try, it let me try out salmons they cook in various ways.
M. D.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. Recommend to all 💥

Decided to give a try around Wanstead area on Sunday morning when it’s opened. As dining indoors still not allowed, I was lucky to get a table in this nice brasserie. Loving all the dishes offered on the menu. French food indeed! The roast beef was just amazingly cooked medium rare. Can’t wait to taste other dishes in the future when I pop by this area again. Definitely recommend people who are around Wanstead area.

Our son & daughter-in-law took us to this Michelin listed restaurant in Wanstead. Reservations are necessary as it is a very popular. It has Prix Fixe menu during the week and a la carte on weekends.
The service was impeccable with appreciation of some quirky dietary restrictions. Two of us had the duck breast chef daily and it was delicious and it was made with a light hand and lovely array of seasonal vegetables.
We recommend.

Authentic French cuisine. I recommend the ox cheeks with a delicious gravy sauce with potato mash.
K. M.
A great restaurant- chic and definitely classy while also remaining friendly and unpretentious. Great staff - well informed and excellent service as well as wonderful food. A problem with my steak was resolved immediately and replaced with a wonderful option. All was cooked to a high standard and good value. So happy it is within an easy bus ride of where I live.

This is the third time we have wandered into this restaurant whilst on a stroll.
The food is lovely, the atmosphere is a relaxed one and the team of staff are amazing.
I know we will visit again.
A. L.
Great value, delicious food and friendly staff
J. C.
Always a pleasure! Fabulous starter platter followed by lamb and stone bass. We had the special of poached pear which was divine.
D. M.
Always amazing food.
We've been there often in the last two years and never disappointed.
A. C.
The food was full of flavour and texture! Amazing chef and superb service. Great atmosphere!
Why can't others restaurants be like this one? Michelin star? Possibly!
A. W.
These guys have got the whole new way of serving sorted! Wonderfully spaced seating, careful attentive service and a really lovely 3 course Fix Prix menu. For a steal at £16.95! I almost wanted to say it was too cheap! Especially for the portion sizes?
The food was exceptional. Couldn’t fault anything.
Can’t wait to go back!

We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxed, fun, delicious, and stimulating time yesterday lunchtime at Provender, delighting in not only the amazingly good food, wine and service but also the happy joyful atmosphere that such good things bring. I´m already planning what to try on our next visit, and urge you to try the tuna salad starter, that not only makes a perfect light main course, but comes with the tuna cooked very rare, or that is to say to perfection! Thank you to all involved, love Catherine

Excellent food. French restaurant so I don't know what I expected but thought their offering for the vegan in our party would've been more innovative than a salad...
L. P.
Had a very enjoyable meal. Food good and service professional and friendly.
J. G.
Amazing French restaurant Delicious food & very friendly staff. The charcuterie starter board to share ws lovely & the mains of Ox cheeks & Duck delicious as well 😍
C. L.
Good for quick lunch. Service and food was excellent.

Fabulous meal great service had a Lobster Crayfish pot to start which was lovely and the a venison wellington. Our party all had a lovely meal high recommended.

This restaurant is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. when I feel like having a proper meal, this is the place that comes immediately to my mind. exeptionalgorgeous and diverse food and a large menu.trained staff, and great vibes. Also, the tariff is reasonable. I praise this place with no hesitation.
S. P.
Lovely french dishes with good presentation. Its also a very nice place to eat and staff are friendly staff
J. L.
An excellent Saturday night dinner with friends. They thought that the French onion soup was great. Two had duck, one the steak frites and I had twice cooked cheese soufflé. All really good.
H. M. H. B.
Thank you so much for the way you welcomed us & provided such attentive service. We had a great evening at your restaurant. Sending our love ♥️

Great local bistro.
The 3 courses for 16.75 is possibly one of the best bargains in London!
the 'coq au vin' esque dish was tasty and not short on flavour.
Smoked crevettes were light and refreshing.
the Trifle was really tasty but far too small - only real disappointment. Oh and a glass of the house wine is under £4 - another bargain.
overall the food is good but not exactly mind blowing. but definitely deserves its 5 stars on sheer value for money. Can't wait to return.
a. g.
One of my favourites restaurants and so happy to be back. Tonight was the braised ox cheeks with potato gnocchi. Rich and sumptuous and washed down nicely with a meteor blanche (ot two). Service is always impeccable and it's really lovely that they remember you and treat you like a valued customer.
P. C.
A nice restaurant, french themed with an accent on country food. The meal was a pleasure to eat but 1 star less because the coffee was forgotten and it shouldn't have been.
G. R.
We had a lovely evening. Really good menu. Good service. Lovely food. Reasonable prices.
R. C.
First visit. Definitely not my last.
Excellent menu, food and service
A. R.
Very Good food, a little pricey, service ok

Merry Christmas everyone
V.
A really fine restaurant with excellent service. A joy to visit and a celebration of good, honest, food.
J. L.
Treated a friend for her birthday yesterday. The food is just fantastic. High end, like fine dining but without the high price. Outstanding value and lovely service
j. O.
Amazing local restaurant. Lovely service and great food. Can highly recommend. Been several times and it never lets you down. Will return
P. B.
Excellent meal. Very good service. Garlic bread to die for!

This is a brilliant French brasserie. The menu has all the French favourites on it. They even serve a red Sancerre which is divine. Service is brilliant. Love this place.

L. O.
Favorite place to go for local food. Amazing breakfast, very delicious. Definetely recommend visiting!
J.
Have visited this restaurant a lot in the past and never been disappointed until now. I found the food quite average.
G. L.
I come here regularly and I highly recommend this place, the food is brilliant and staff are great
S. P.
Oh what a wonderful experience. Amazing sharing platter and classic magret de canard! Beautiful French cuisine. 🤩
J. H.
Never go anywhere else.
Very hard to fine an excellent restaurant but Provender ticks all the right boxes for me. Been going for years. We love the place. Especially that it's open all day. And we can go when it suits us. The food is first class. 😋

Really nice and reasonably priced.
Fantastic service, cozy decor and a really delicious meal.
Will be back for sure.
K. L.
Fantastic quality of food and generous portion. Fish and chips was the best I ever had and services were good and you were made to feel welcome and enjoy every minute of it.
P. M.
Great burger, always good food.
Don't like services charges here because I like to choose who I give my tips to.
R. G.
Lovely french restaurant with authentic french cuisine
C. D.
We went for a family lunchtime meal. Every meal we had was beautiful presented and top notch. Service was excellent. Highly recommended Thank you.
S. W.
Great food, well executed, tasty, not over done. Friendly staff. Super prix fixe lunch menu, really enjoyed the whole experience
A. W.
We have eaten here on several occasions and have always really enjoyed the food, the ambience and the great staff.
R. H.
This place is everything you want your neighborhood restaurant to be, but so often isn't .. the team here are just wonderful. The welcome is always warm and friendly, the food consistently of a high quality and delicious, and a tasty wine list too! I've been lucky enough to eat in some outstanding restaurants around the world, but I'm always happy to come home to here. Keep up the great work ♥️
P. S.
It's really ace here. Came for a late lunch on Sunday, we sat outside letting the day drift along, eating ace food. The hors d'oeuvres 'royale' was an ideal starter to share, proper French business. Ox cheeks for the main were incredibly good. To be honest though, all the food here is spot on - no fuss, amazing taste. The biggest shout though goes to the staff - from the guy who runs it, to all the folks serving, they're just lovely. Never in your face, but always attentive and happy to chat. Merci!
C. B.
Wonderful experience. Easy to book a table online, everything is very clean and social distancing works well in the space. Dinner was absolutely amazing, we had the steak and it was one of the best I‘ve ever ate! Looking forward to visiting again soon.
K. H.
Had been highly recommended so when friends chose to go here tonight was looking to try it out. It did not disappoint. The place was very busy which for me is nearly always a good sign. Food was very good (fab onion soup) and loved the coffee with mini desserts (six mini portions, each one delicious) Service was polite and friendly. Great to discover a good local restaurant.
A. W.
This is a top class French restaurant that could easily grace the West End. The menu is well chosen and better than most we experienced recently driving through France. The staff are always pleasant and charming. My sole today was perfectly cooked, as were the green beans and potatoes. It’s what you should always expect but often it’s not what you get in restaurants. The wine list is excellent and it’s very fairly priced. Compared to a supposedly top class restaurant in Central London, where we ate earlier this week, Provender is amazingly good.
R. T.
Another amazing 3-course French takeaway! The price-fixe menu is fantastic value. Lots of choice, the quality is very high, and portions are generous.
R. B.
Went here for dinner and it was stunning from start to finish including the friendly efficient service. Had the beef carpaccio as a starter which was delicious followed by Ox cheeks for the main which was to die for as it was so tender and delicious in a red wine sauce!! The food was served hot
P. S.
Best food and service we have had locally for a long time. Will be back soon. Quandoo sent me a message just before 4 pm to say reservation was cancelled. Hey ho no it wasnt.
J.
Excellent French Restaurant in Wanstead High St. 2 and 3 course set Menus also available. Pleasant Lunch with 3 other friends ... Attentive Service and managed to be Seated Outside too although couldn't Guarantee that at Time of Booking. Thoroughly recommendable!
Z. T.
Our favourite restaurant. Brilliant service, friendly helpful staff, top quality delicious food. Great for a special occasion and to take family and friends to. Best local restaurant by a long way. Feels like being in Paris.
A. M.
2 girlfriends and I spent a fabulous afternoon at Provender. The staff are helpful, cheerful and efficient. The crab cake and chocolate fondant were delicious
P. T.
During Lock down providing a very good take away service. Order on line pay on the website or pay on collection. Food as good as normal at table service. November free wine with orders over £30 offer.
D. H.
Excellent menu, relaxed atmosphere and prompt service. Perfectly cooked egg on top of asparagus: the simplest of starter which can be ruined by an over or undercooked egg but this one was spot on. Delicious rabbit in cream sauce with delicate and delicious tiny roast potatoes and baby carrots. Champagne chilled and dry. Very good value for money. Highly recommend.
J. r.
If you want something special, this is the place to go. This restaurant gives you an authentic taste of France and is stylish with great atmosphere. It ticked all the boxes for my family as we had decided to go for an extra special meal together instead of buying each other Christmas presents.
O. W.
Great food great service. Lovely evening. Magret de canard was fab as you would find it in France.
J. J. L.
Wonderful in every way. Food glorious...the aubergine pate was delicious. Service cheerful. Wine was lovely.
L. H.
Amazing food, lovely open restaurant with good ventilation, staff wear masks, felt very safe and the champagne was sublime!
M. S. M.
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and the service is excellent.
S. B.
For Traditional French cuisine this place is a delight. But they seriously lack in the vegetarian and vegan range. Tasteless couscous and massive slabs of halloumi with perfectly done vegetables. Making it a hard decision to go back but it made everyone else on the table happy
M. F.
Just excellent takeaway service during lockdown: thoughtfully assembled dishes easy to reheat, and of course all the taste and quality we expect from Provender. Don't hesitate!
Y. M.
A lovely local treat. By keeping things simple with great quality food.
S. M.
Wonderful French Bistro. Food is well cooked, beautifully presented and delicious. Service is friendly, attentive and professional. Prices are reasonable, particularly given the quality of the food. Excellent wine list.
Provender is one of my favourite places for a good meal, particularly for a special occasion.
M. S.
Excellent, delighted to discover it. So wished I live locally !!
L. A.
Delighted to get back to Provender last night after the lockdown. As always the food and service were superb. It really is a great restaurant, we are very lucky to have it local to us but it's well worth making a trip for.
C. C.
We stopped in on a busy Saturday night and it seems we were fortunate to get a table - next time we'll call to reserve. The friendly manager and waitstaff ensured we were well looked after throughout the evening. The food was delicious, expertly prepared with fresh, high quality ingredients. And the atmosphere was pleasant - stylish, comfortable with some great jazz playing at just the right volume to add to your experience without obstructing conversation. We will definitely be back.

Amazing food, great service
C. H.
Very charming french bistro, service is great and the food is done very well.
H. D.
Every little part of Provender brings joy to the heart.
The pillowy double cheese soufflé cut clean against a simple green salad, the buttery artisan garlic bread (for two) and unctuously thick vermillion bouillabaisse; close your eyes and you're there. The staff are welcoming and attentive. A beautiful restaurant set quietly amongst leafy Wanstead.
J. F.
Good food, friendly staff, homely atmosphere. The menu never disappoints and this is a great place to eat.
K. A.
Been to this restaurant so many times and every time it has been perfect. The staff are so attentive and welcoming. The food is always amazing and very authentic
S. G.
Lovely French Bistro
My wife and daughter and I dropped in here after visiting my sister. It really restored my faith in French food after a disappointing visit to Paris recently. The food was delicately flavoured and perfectly cooked, the seafood soup was as good as I have tasted. The service is discrete and timely.
E. G.
We had a great time, nice welcoming layout, I personally quite liked the the design and details.
The staff that served us was actually French which gave it an authentic feel, and they were very friendly.
The food was tasty and even though it looks expensive we were pleased the check.
I really recommend it, if you are around Wanstead area for brunch or just a cafe, it will give you a good mood.
If you have a bigger party you might need to phone ahead just to make sure they have a free table
l. b.
Well we are in lockdown, restrictions easing and Provender is doing takeaway, hurrah! All so easy, order via the website, choose a time to pick up, get your food and enjoy Provender chez vous! Food was amazing- we had the trio of salmon then wow, amazing bouef bourgignon served with gnocchi, and other half had the burger. I wasn't sure the burger would travel well but he was super happy with it, all really delicious. Really nice touches were some complimentary popcorn to nibble on and also delicious sorbet to round it all off. We will be back for more takeaway but so looking forward to being back with Christophe and team when things open up again properly after lockdown. So appreciate everything that businesses in our community are doing to bring us all some normality in these strange and difficult times, thank you.
D. F.
Lovely intimate restaurant with delightful food. We dined with another couple and had a great evening. The waitress service was on point and we were not hassled off our table - lovely👌🏾
S. B.
Succulent chicken and lentils. Catered for my GF without any problem
M. R.
Another great meal. Delicious food , good service. They were not champing at the bit to get us to leave. Bill for 4 with starters, mains, two desserts, 2 bottles of wine tea/coffee then after dinners drinks including service £178.... It was our friends first time and they were very impressed. ... left feeling stuffed and very happy... been going a few years now and so far Provender has never let us down.
D. V.
Well-presented and well-prepared reasonably-priced food. Looking at poor reviews for the place it seems as if the complainants have problems - it is fine for normal people. It would be good, probably as much for the chefs as the customers, if the menu changed occasionally.
P. B.
Went to Provender with family to have late breakfast. The food was just amazing, big portions and very very delicious. I wanted to praise this place for their bamboo straws - they brought our bloody Mary with this straw and we didnt even asked for zero waste straw. Well done! Even zero waste movement is quite popular right now, still it is a pleasant surprise if a place think about it even without asking! Also, staff is very welcoming. Definetely going back!
C. S.
Went for my birthday meal with family. A group of 10. Food was great, especially for the price. Food took a long time to come out, 45 minutes from ordering for starters, but guessing it was because of the group situation. It more situated for groups of 2 or 4. Could do with music for a better atmosphere.
A. H.
Great French food with friendly staff. Cheese soufflé through to duck and rabbit so an excellent choice. Good lunchtime deals for extra value.
A. P.
I have been to this restaurant many times, and although it is not a 5 star or even 1 star Michelin one, the owner then staff and mostly the food has always been of very good standard, I have been going with my wife, friends and/or children and they capable to accommodate us even on short notice. Food as always been great, even those snails are pretty much as good as I can make then myself and am pretty good!!! Keep the good work as I will be back.
L. H.
Nice, medium sized French restaurant in Wanstead with breakfast/brunch offering, plus lunches and dinners. Have had some good meals here. The service could be a little friendlier but it's a great addition to the village nonetheless.
M. L.
Fantastic meal again at Provender.
Great selection on the set menu and on this occasion we went for the house wine which was delicious.
The finishing touch is the French bistro atmosphere.
Our choice time and time again for special family occasions.
C. H.
I had delicious poulet (chicken). The waiter was very helpful when I asked about gluten free options.
J. B.
Lovely food. Wonderful staff. Very welcoming to all the family. If you want to feel that you have taken a trip to France in Wanstead, this is the place, and excellent value too.
S. M.
A wonderful, welcoming institution of the Wanstead restaurant scene. Always great food, impeccable service and from the variety of customers who pass through its doors, everyone is welcome.
Classic French bistro food done with flair, the menu is always reliably impressive and it's always a pleasure to eat here, whether in a small or large group.
Booking is recommended as Provender remains eternally popular with local diners, but is not always necessary.
Worth a visit if you're not sure where to go in Wanstead and my favourite restaurant in the area bar none.
B. L.
Always great in here. Classic and simple dishes done incredibly well. Service is excellent. Never misses.
A. W.
This is a top class French restaurant that could easily grace the West End. The menu is well chosen and better than most we experienced recently driving through France. The staff are always pleasant and charming. My sole today was perfectly …
K. A.
Been to this restaurant so many times and every time it has been perfect. The staff are so attentive and welcoming. The food is always amazing and very authentic
E. G.
Probably the best restaurant in Wanstead pre pandemic, still serving great takeaway food now.
T. G.
Delicious food
D. F.
Lovely intimate restaurant with delightful food. We dined with another couple and had a great evening. The waitress service was on point and we were not hassled off our table - lovely👌🏾
M. H.
Lovely little French restaurant with a good value lunch menu.
E. N.
Exquisite food and very attentive staff
D. B.
Great service, good quality food and comfortable experience.
L. J.
The service was excellent as usual but unfortunately the food was disappointing. Order the Sole which was tasteless and the duck which was good but the accompliments were disappointing.good food service nice atmosphere and popular. by Snaresbrook tube or buses leave you off nearby. we go as groups they do set lunches mon to fri or can obvioulsy order off the main menu it is one of the better restaurants
S. C.
This is our go to place for celebrations, lunch with the family or just the two of us. The food is always good quality and tasty and the choices of wine are in keeping with French taste. Staff are friendly and accommodating and there is always a nice vibe inside.
B. L.
Always great in here. Classic and simple dishes done incredibly well. Service is excellent. Never misses.
N. H.
Excellent food and service, priced reasonably and presented very nicely. A great experience
N. P.
Good food & service. They looked after us very well at a difficult time.
N. B.
The soufflé was impossibly good! Staff wonderfully welcoming. Just a joy to know that you're back even better!
T. C. -. V.
Very nice French restaurant with high quality food.
The seabass was perfectly cooked and quite large. The creamed spinach that came with it was the best I've ever had.
My fiancée had the cod with seafood risotto. Again, both cooked to perfection.
Pain Peru was very tasty and my fiancée had the Knickerbocker Glory which was lovely.
We are definitely going back.
A. M.
I like it here. I think the food is tasty and well presented, the restaurant is comfortable, the staff are friendly and the value is good. Importantly, the standards are consistently maintained. Worth considering if you're looking for somewhere to eat in Wanstead.
A. K.
Didn't realise chicken could be so nice. Staff are great. This place is busy and price wise I would say it's more of a special occasion rather than a weekend eat out.
M. B.
Took advantage of their takeaway menu. Really fantastic food and a great price!
G. S.
Really enjoyed the aubergine vegetarian starter. The burger was nice but I wouldn't order it again. We went on a Monday for lunch and place wasn't very busy. Service was very good
Z. R.
Food is definitely amazing. Staff is ok. I have been there on several occasions and I must say all waiters and the main manager are very helpful and nice. However their waitresses are slightly abrupt.
J. B.
This is the best place in Wanstead to eat, in my opinion. Good, friendly service and incredible food with great classic flavours. They have a petit dejeuner (or brekky) menu that is out of this world, including the best bloody mary you'll ever have made for you. The Sunday menu is excellent too, and they serve side dishes in those little cast iron ramekins, which is awesome.
C. A. D.
This is the best restaurant in Wanstead, serving excellent, reasonably priced, traditional French cuisine. The staff are always very welcoming and efficient without ever being overly attentive. I would recommend Provender as a great lunch or evening meal venue, especially at the weekend.
P. W.
Always lovely food and service. It's definitely become our 'benchmark' for other restaurants. Sunday lunch is amazing and the breakfast is good too. Definitely recommended.
A. G.
A little bit of France in Wanstead. Top quality food well prepared and served by friendly and attentive staff.
A. L.
Great food and lovely staff. The set menu was perfect, loads of choice at a brilliant price. Looking forward to next time.
W. P.
Lovely food, attentive service, great atmosphere. Great local bistro.
D. M.
I've been visiting Provender fairly regularly for years. The food and service is always excellent. This is one of my favorite local restaurants.
G. A.
This restaurant was on my list of restaurants to visit in Wanstead as soon as it openened. I wondered how a French Brasserie would fare here, but the food scene is truly burgeoning. A mark of this is it still retains bakers and butchers shops (Ginger Pig no less) where other have had them supplanted by chain 'Local' shops. Upon entering on a cold wet December afternoon we were welcomed and our coats taken by the very attentive team. Being a French restaurant I thought my son's dairy allergy may be a problem, but we needn't have worried. The waiting staff are extremely knowledgable of the preparation of all meals on the menu. We were told that some would be too difficult to remove dairy and to be honest would not have tasted the same had they tried. We were able to pick from a choice of two starters, two mains and offered a stewed pear with pear sorbet which were all excellent. As were all the meals we sampled. Entrée: escargot were pre-shelled and embedded into a delightfully heavy garlic butter sauce; fish selection were delicately smoked. Main: Rabbit had a decent amount of tender flesh and not tough or dry as I have had in the past; John Dory succulent and full of flavour. We chose the house white as our accompaniment which was light a delicately complimented the food. The bottled beers were also not the usual French beers we are used to and suit a range of palates - I will try these on my next visit. Nothing can be faulted, from the quality of the ingredients, to the way they are cooked, to the way they are served. I haven't been to a French restaurant for a long time, but Provender is now my benchmark.
S. T.
Everything perfect except a dessert Poires Belle Helene, the Classic French Pear Dessert was not on the menu. 4 stars for encouragement.
R. K.
Excellent food and friendly and efficient staff.Highly recommend this restaurant. Been many times and always had a great experience
H. B.
An okay French restaurant, I had higher expectations for a restaurant in Wanstead, the staff were great and kind. The staff were very attentive, the atmosphere was subdue. The quality of food was above average.
B. P.
Great little cafe, hired for a private function. Staff, food and service highly recommended. Pulled out all the stops for what was an excellent end to a wedding Reception.
S. L.
Table for 6 early Saturday evening. Atmosphere was already excellent, very relaxed. Staff absolutely first class. Food equally so. Thank you.
C. M.
Delicious food and friendly Staff.
C. F.
A lovely little spot for breakfast. We both had their fantastic interpretation of an english breakfast. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and wonderful, certainly a must try.
B. P.
Really lovely staff and fantastic food, and wine. Great service.
J. N.
Had a lovely lunch in the sunshine, food and service was excellent.
G. L.
This restaurant does what it does rather well and with a definite sense of style. Three of us went last night for a quick mid-week meal and encountered capable cooking, good ingredients and service that at first was a little awkward but became friendlier as the evening progressed.
Although I wanted to try the 'steak hache' which the manager recommended highly , in the end two of us had the 45 day aged Rump Steak and frites which was a tasty, good quality 250gm piece of meat cooked to perfection. We also tried two starters, a cream of potato and mushroom soup and prawn cocktail, both of which were excellent. The bread and butter served here were extremely good too. Steak and burgers are offered with a choice of frites, dauphonois potatoes or salad.
The bill for the above, plus two beers and one small glass of wine came to over sixty pounds including the automatically added 12.5% service. Compared to other local modern bistrots in this area, I am thinking of East17 in Walthamstow village, this represents pretty good value.
A couple coming here for a three course meal with wine, water and coffee could easily spend above £100 which might be a little high for this place in this part of London. It might be that eventually this place is forced to introduce better value combos, early bird specials etc.
I really think that Provender has a good opportunity to succeed in Wanstead, especially when it starts opening all day.
Will definitely return to experience that hamburger!

Beautiful restauraunt, friendly staff and delicious food. Definitely coming back. Recommend the rabbit leg, the sauce is creamy and sweet, compliments the dish perfectly!
L. C.
My favourite local place to eat - go regularly - good food cooked and presented very well (thank you chef(s) & kitchen staff) - good value - friendly & attentive - love it there.

Exceptionally good food. Whilst I cannot remember exactly what I had (too much wine), the lamb was insanely tender and mashed potato incredibly tasty and smooth tend to stick in my mind. I will be returning.

Food and service good. Wrt to covid measures, not enough ventilation inside (i.e none) for my liking.

Max Renzland is a perfectionist on every minuscule detail and goes all out to create an unforgettable dining experience. After having the great of pleasure of working for him at Michelin star restaurant Monsieur Max I can't wait to have the Max Renzland dining experience again. His menus are always outstanding and exciting...

Great food and wine. Prices on the higher side but worth it for great quality and service. Good weekday set menu. Great steak and fantastic seafood.
R. S.
Lovely meal with my Sisterinlaw celebrating a belated Birthday.
R. J.
I thought this was great food reasonably priced and with a reasonably priced wine list. Good service. Would happily go again
R. T.
The iron steak as part of the set menu is excellent and the desserts outstanding. We head to Prov for small celebrations whenever we want to stay local.

A great French Bistro with superb food and service.
Wanstead has been crying out for an offering like Provender. This modern take on a French Bistro is a stunning success.
The star of the show is the set menu. Great produce cooked with imagination and Gallic flair. The Bavette and Frites with peppercorn sauce was a revelation. Francophiles will love the classic braised dishes. The a la carte menu has some great fish dishes. They have an offering for every palette.
Add in a good reasonably priced wine list, all day opening and friendly service, it has become a firm favorite. Visit soon. Say Paul sent you!
