Reviews of Regency Cafe
S. I.
I've been scared to come in here for months because it's always so packed, but any place with a line every single day must have something going for it - so I took a few deep breaths, got on with it, and was rewarded with a delicious, well priced meal in a cafe with an awesome (but loud!) environment. Getting through the line and hearing my order be shouted out felt like an achievement whose reward was fresh and tasty lunch! I'll be back here for sure.

I wanted to get a traditional English breakfast during my very first visit to London last week, and stumbled upon this place while searching online for a place not touristy and ridiculously priced, and I’m glad I did. Regency has the same atmosphere as a local diner in the US; nothing fancy, pretty simple cafe with friendly staff, good food and good prices.
I went on a weekday around 10am, and there was no line to get in, and service was pretty fast. I got the set breakfast deal with black pudding and bubble & squeak. I loved everything except black pudding, but that’s probably normal because black pudding is a uniquely weird delicacy :)
I would definitely recommend Regency if you’re looking for a simple, traditional English breakfast in a friendly atmosphere where you’re not being ripped off as a tourist especially!

English breakfast is a definitely one of the must-try dishes when people visit UK. Regency Cafe, which was awarded the Top 5 restaurants in London by Yelp, serves authentic style with super reasonable price.
We had their Set Breakfast Deal (£6.5) with extra Black Puddings, Bubble & Squeak and Hash Browns to share with a group of two. The portion is more than enough and we couldn't even finish the toasts in the set.
The food exceeded our expectations and was amazingly good, especially the beans which was creamy & the hush browns which was crispy. Friends told us the taste of black puddings are really scary, but their’s were fine for us.
The decor & ambiance is really cool with vintage style and it's also a popular spot for fashion magazine & Instagram photos.

Just £6.75 for a set British breakfast!
A rule: line up to order then take a seat and wait for your food.
Always long queue outside the cafe.
I love the atmosphere there, simple and good quality.

I love this cafe. It's changed very little over the pandemic. Love the way the orders are still shouted out when ready. Slightly miss the way they used to include a description of the person who made the order "man in white shirt! Liver and bacon!".
But the food great, reasonable prices, really nice atmosphere, and the whole place looks great of course.

Good authentic English breakfast! It taste so much better than hotel breakfast that I have stayed. If you are a tourist like me, worth to visit!

It was very busy but well worth the short wait. The food is excellent and they have everything worked out to an art. It is everything you would hope a London cafe to be without any hipster sheen or pretencious air. It is a proper cafe and should you find yourself in this part of the city I would recommend a visit heartily and without reservation.

I moved in a few doors down last month and I must have eaten here around 10 times already for breakfast and lunch.
The food is excellent, and that shouldn’t go understated, but the real appeal of the Regency Cafe is its charm and character. Before 10am you can have a relaxed breakfast at a reasonable price - after 10ish, the queue bumps up and the operation bumps up gears to match it. Often you leave the till, where you order, already with your plate of food. The atmosphere is friendly and buzzing, and the clients are a huge range of workmen, regulars, bougie newbies and many more. Truly a gem.
R. T.
A queue to get in, people talking loudly, you’ll need a commanding voice to make the order, a commanding voice in return calls you when your order is ready, decent food, economical, a perfect experience. I’d avoid their black coffee though. Go with the tea. Make it proper.
E. S.
Such a cool place. I visited it for the first time in 2018 and in 2022 it’s still the same. The perfect English breakfast in my opinion 🤩

Well, I’m an American tourist so our measuring sticks for taste vary from Brit to Yankee don’t it? Not as much as you think actually. It was classic as back home and besides the beans (which is often a puzzling breakfast venture for Americans), it felt mostly like a good breakfast at home, mum’s that is! Toast, thick and buttery, fried tomatoes, beans, thick bacon ham, fresh eggs. I’ll be back tomorrow, this time the shouting lady at the register won’t intimidate me and I’ll get my order out without a stutter. Pray for us? CHEERS to this lovely eatery and our dear friends across the “pond”.

I have been wanting to visit here for a good year. I was not disappointed… service, set up and follow through of the cafe was how one should run a cafe. The food was simply , tasty , good quality , decent portions and value plus plus and if you can find this anywhere else in london at these prices then you are as lucky to have found such a must for breakfast, cause I haven’t after 14 years of living close by. I’m a fan and will be back I’m sure as a new regular! People are lining up to get in here! What a way to start a Saturday and the weekend!!!!
C. F.
A real classic - the café isn’t big, and it’s frequently busy, which makes for a really fun atmosphere. Don’t try to be healthy here - this is somewhere to have proper fry-up sort of food. It’s the definition of cheap and cheerful, and just looks the part of an old-fashioned workers’ cafe perfectly, because it’s genuine!
M. M.
I enjoyed the affordable breakfast here it is highly recommended. They accept card now so you don’t have to worry about that. They are very fast and friendly. Loved the efficacy and the cleanliness of the palace.
R. T.
Excellent food and prices. Had the breakfast special, and it was very tasty. I was particularly moved by the hash browns—they were savory, somehow they had a hint of sweetness, and they did not feel greasy; they were just perfect. The staff is efficient, polite, and friendly too. Highly recommend it!

Looking for an authentic English breakfast, we came across the Regency Cafe on multiple blogs / websites, and we decided to give it a go
We tried the breakfast deal with all the extra and it was delicious, it's exactly what we were looking for. The style of the place was very authentic and the staff were super friendly
I would definitely recommend if you want to discover a typical English breakfast or just eat a quick meal
We came in on Monday around 12, there was a bit of queue but we only waited a few minutes, the service was fast
J. W.
Great value for money. Good quality food. One of the best greasy spoons.
A. S.
Such a lovely place 😍 Very good English breakfast. I'm recommended
J. H.
They have breakfast down to a fine art. Professional yet friendly service. High quality breakfast at a good price. It really is as good as everyone says.
S. N.
Slick service great food in an authentic setting and very reasonably priced
Amazing breakfast can't believe it took me 40 years since starting my nurses training at Westminster hospital to try it out! I will be back Got there at just the right time as there were queues round the corner when we left
M. R.
An amazing part of London's culture.
The food quality is excellent, the place exceptionally clean and well worth a visit.
The breakfasts are amazing, the fish and chips super and the omlette excellent.
A. F.
The best cafe in London.
My go to for lunch is 'Steak Pie, Chips & Peas!'
V. M.
Excellent breakfast. Just what an English cafe should be. Great prices and a lovely guy taking orders!
C. C.
This is a propa cafe!
No messing around, order your food, you collect it when it's shouted out.
This is how cafes used to be and its great it is keeping the tradition.
Absolute perfect eggs and a decent sasauge.
Really enjoy coming here as it brings back lots of nostalgia.
M. C.
My favourite cafe in london. 12/10 in all aspects! Absolutely spot on full english fry up and a good cup of tea. Encapsulates everything that london is about, the decor really feels like you’ve walked through a time capsule into 1940s London and it was brilliant! Such a welcoming atmosphere with the best staff, really down to earth and you can tell they put their heart and soul into the job; The gentleman that served us even remembered our names and said goodbye to us as we left! Cant wait to return
B. S.
Menu is British cafe food.
I had liver and bacon with chips and tinned peas.
Used to be loads of cafes like this up north when I was a nippah. All chains now, sadly. Decent tea, also now rare, but here it lives on.
Really nicely preserved inside. Interesting to look on the wall to see who has been there before you. Muhammad Ali and Martin Scorcesse were two I spotted.
Tinned peas! Madness!😁
C. L. (.
Ridiculously lovable from all angles — food, service, ambiance, and price. Went one day and kept going back for the rest of our stay. No need to reinvent the wheel.
S.
Great for a full English! Friendly and quick staff, great service and delicious food. Affordable too. Will definitely eat here again!
C. “.
One week ago, I had just had the best breakfast and mug of tea that an Englishman could dream of and it was in this place. Just on my way to work and this place had been highly recommended by my colleague, Husniye. Thanks for allowing me to buy my tea mug as a souvenir too; I have used no other for my cuppa since!
B.
Heard it was worth going to for the Full English Breakfast. The setting was vintage and had clear instructions of how to order/ how the cafe ran. Was happily entertained by the guy at the counter. Stern & intimidating at first but later found that was the main feature, and the reason I would come back! Had a very enjoyable experience from start to finish. The food came fast, coffee and tea was good and kept us full till late afternoon!
b. r.
Come here every time we stay in London.
This is a proper old school london cafe.
Food is excellent service is so fast and the staff are so helpful
К. В.
The best breakfast ever! The atmosphere, the people and food is just amazing.
You should definitely make your plans to visit this amazing place!
Upd: my heart melts seeing that the cafe is not closed and is functioning during these turbulent times! Looking forward to come to London and visit Regency cafe again❤️

No trip to London can be ever considered complete if you fail to stop at Regency Cafe for a meal.
After much googling for the perfect place where to experience an authentic English Breakfast (of which I am a big fan), I settled for this discrete place, located in a not very touristy area.
The place was packed and there was a long line that did not scared me away. Looking around, me and my husband were the only foreign customers there. Yep, we're in the right spot!
One could find the decoration tacky and dated, like the place had stopped in time, but that's what makes it so genuinely charming. Something in the likes of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it'".
It's almost hard to choose what to order because I want to taste everything, even if my mediterranean wuss stomach disagrees. And everything is so cheap!
The food was exactly what I was expecting, greasy and potent, the bustling ambience, the politeness of the staff (and even other customers)... it's just brilliant!
They don't take cards here, so don't forget to bring money with you.. and a large appetite.
S. s.
I’ve been here a few times in the last 3 months, the quality, location of cafe and price of the food simply can not be faulted.
As a ‘Northerner’ the biggest agitation when visiting London is the huge increase in costs. However, the regency cafe is undoubtedly in line with a cafe anywhere in the UK, quality of food is superb!
It’s demand through popularity, quality of service and food has simply outstretched its capability at times hence the comments about queuing.
Thank you Marco and team, you do an outstanding job on a daily basis which you absolutely do not get the credit for as it must be stressful.
You have created a machine based on your personal qualities and service which is a credit to you Marco and your team.
Thank you and I will visit you again soon 🙏
T. B.
Very tasty food, quick service overall, a bit dear but they have to pay bills too,
Well done, and hopefully halal chicken and beef burgers will be on the menu too.
Please keep the same quality of food.
Tables were very very tight for me as big tall man.

I have been to many breakfast places in London and the Regency Cafe is my favorite by far.. It offers a genuine English breakfast experience in a retro atmosphere, with top quality food ingredients and last but not least, an outstanding service which is the quickest and friendliest you will ever experience by the true gentleman who calls you by your first name when your delicious breakfast is ready.. Highly recommended!
A. B.
One of the best, if not the best cafe in London. Their liver and bacon is to die for.
Highly recommended for good honest food and excellent service
E. g. B. n.
Nice and cheap, with a little waiting in queue, but worth it, coming back soon!
v. s.
I consider myself very lucky to find and go to the Regency cafe! You can have a full authentic English breakfast plus a coffee for just £6.75 in the London city centre! The taste of the food and coffee is amazing! Cannot recommend this cafe enough tbh! I will definitely visit this place again and again whenever I go to London! Thanks Regency cafe for your great food and hospitality!
D. S.
Fancied a full English, got a full English. Reasonable priced and a decent sausage not the long cheap sausages that 90% of cafe's use now days. Friendly staff so Will definitely be back again.
D. K.
Amazing breakfast!!! Fast and polite service. I could eat here every day!
J. G.
The whole family loves Regency Cafe - the experience, the service, the breakfast & the atmosphere. Take note: Gordon Ramsay's River Restaurant.
M. H.
The breakfast comes highly recommended as does the bread & butter pudding with Custard! A must for any tourist or local!
k. c.
Perfect English breakfast. Plus we really appreciated the owner remembering customer's names! It is a amall touch but he must work so hard to do it especially with it being so busy.
T. H.
Not sure what the hype is all about. Maybe my experience was tainted by visiting at 09:00 on a Saturday, but I just found the situation chaotic.
Seeing a huge queue of people behind me, I opted for the set menu to keep ordering simple.
While I appreciate that the lady is calling out previously ordered items, it’s a bit unsettling trying to give my order while they aren’t looking at me, knowing if my order is being taken in. As it happens I had to repeat it a few times.
Food was great and served promptly, but that’s the only positive I can give.
“Set menu with hash browns and mushrooms!” Was boomed out loud. One of my orders, I went to collect but was given a disapproving look as it was someone else’s order.
The only table available for my partner and I was a 4 seater, so incredibly conscious to wolf the breakfast down, knowing that the people in the queue will need somewhere to sit, rather than enjoy the food because of the aforementioned queuing.
If you want the hustle and bustle of a busy cafe, by all means go here. But want to enjoy your breakfast without potential heartburn? Maybe try a week day or somewhere else?
J. M.
Awesome breakfast and great prices! This Cafe is tucked away in the neighborhood of Westminster and it does not disappoint! Though the line was out the door, it moved quickly and orderly. A full English breakfast is around £6.50, I got the salmon eggs Benedict with a side of hash browns (£7.75). Definitely worth repeat visits
F. Y.
Very warm and friendly staff! The Full English is perhaps one of the best I've had (especially considering the cheap price!). The bread and butter pudding was also a pleasant surprise and left me wanting for more. The decor is practical yet timeless, truly providing a sense of a slow English day :) I definitely highly recommend this lovely little cafe hidden in plain sight to both locals and tourists alike!
L. B.
The platonic idea of a Full English Breakfast. It looks like there isn't enough seating. Just follow the rules (wait in the queue and don't try to reserve a table before ordering; leave when you've finished eating) and the queue will move fast and you'll get a table exactly when you need one.
w. d.
When i say this was my favorite breakfast I have ever had in my life I mean it. The food was incredible! The eggs, sausage, and toast were perfect. The tomatoes were a great surprise!! Hashbrowns were cooked to perfection. The thing that really did it was the British back bacon! I dream of it still. I went march 2020 and i am still thinking about the place!
C. W. W.
Epic! That's the best word that describes the experience at Regency which is the London's best breakfast cafe.
Regency has been around a long time , which you can see the decor had not changed. Till this day they are still applying their trade of making amazing food. The greasy spoon serves all the expected usual lot.
Set breakfast with Hash browns is definitely the go to and for first timers with a good cup of tea or coffee.
This is definitely a must try.
T. E.
Excellent old school traditional Full English served up by cooks and waiters that know exactly how it should be down in a wonderful 1950’s setting.
K. L.
Decent price and quality for a toast, coffee or a Full English Breakfast.
Staffs are friendly. Food is served hot, tasted good.
Quite a lot people queuing for Breakfast in the morning, waited for around 8 mins.
Need to get your order before getting a seat.
A. R.
Cracking cafe. Quick, efficient and friendly service. Felt like a local - very vibrant and chatty. From N.Wales - would travel down to London for this normal cafe any day of the week.
D. L.
Straightforward fare that has no pretenses and serves beautiful breakfasts that taste great.
Update: a year later, back there for breakfast, had the homemade fishcakes this time which weren’t as good as the bubble and squeak (breakfast set addon). Photos added.
K. W.
This is a London favorite and featured in some onscreen time. Watch "Layer Cake" and the scene in the cafe. Not just pretty face but the food compliments the atmosphere.
D. K.
Regency Cafe was exactly what we were looking for. We stayed down the street on vacation to London and figured we'd try it based on the huge line (all those people can't be wrong).
The line moves relatively quickly with one person working the counter and was packed for a reason. Couldn't have been happier with our breakfast. Toast, coffee, and hot chocolate not shown.
D. R.
Fantastic place for a good English breakfast. The staff is very efficient and courteous. They have a plate called "The Set Breakfast" which has a fried egg, a sausage, 2 pieces of bacon and your choice of beans or a cooked tomato. Plus you get toast or bread (nicely sized) and tea or coffee, all for 6 gbp. Don't be alarmed if the tables are full when you get there. By the time you place your order, a table typically clears out. Like I said, efficient! Be advised, they are a cash only establishment.
P. J.
Amazing cafe. Breakfast was spot on. Boss man has it running like a well oiled machine. Sausage was a particular highlight
R. L.
Lovely traditional eatery! All you can expect from British cooking. English breakfast, eggs with sausage, and some day specials that change.
Also I found the lady that takes the orders to be amazing, not only kind but with a voice that can be heard all round the restaurant when she announces the orders. Definitely unmissable spot in London.
Busy at lunchtime in weekdays and limited time open, but worth it!
S. H.
Hands down my favourite breakfast place in London and that's before you even consider the price which is outstanding for central London.
It's a little off the beaten trail, nothing Google Maps can't handle, but make the effort it's worth it. Don't be put off by the queue (there usually is one) it moves quite quickly and I've never had a problem finding a seat. It's popular with tourists and locals alike.
The petite lady behind the counter has a booming voice when announcing orders but instantaneously changes when speaking to you and taking your order. For me the set breakfast is the way to go, but there are plenty of options.
Whenever I'm in London a make a point of visiting and never disappointed and it keeps me fuelled until dinner. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
H. S.
Written from a tourist's perspective: one of the best experiences of our entire 9-day stay in London. It's in the middle of nowhere, but if you have a "real English breakfast" anywhere in London, this is the place. Stroll in, line up, give your order, and soak up the atmosphere. Claudia (she's the one yelling your order) is a phenomenon.
S. L.
Very nice place for authentic English breakfast. Don't sit down before you order, though. Head straight to the counter, order, then sit down and wait for someone to yell your order when it's ready.
R. R.
Awesome breakfast and great service. If you have not been you must go. Appears to be a local favorite. They scream out when you food is ready. The decor creates a nice atmosphere. You would be missing out if you did not stop here. Get the full English. Blood pudding was great. And the hash browns here are something special as also. Well done
K. Y.
My all time favourite greasy spoon that that makes you want to run there the moment you wake up! Marco and Claudia are amazing at what they do, and they always make a great cup of tea the way I like it every time I visit.
E. B.
Delicious old school breakfast, the bacon tomato are just cooked perfectly. Bit hard to reach there but it’s well worth it . Cash only ! Listen when they calling the order, it’s impressive!
C. C.
Popular place for a full English breakfast. Comes with tea or coffee, toast or buttered bread (it is NOT fried bread), fried tomatoes or beans, bacon, and sausage. To get black pudding, hashbrowns, etc. you must add them on at around a pound each. Bacon was extremely salty, and the prices online were outdated. However, the place was lovely, service was quick, and it was very popular. Orange juice was ASTOUNDING, tea was piping hot and strong, and it was full of energy. Egg was perfect.
L. W.
Best breakfast in London and great service. Go there, you'll not be disappointed.
V. K.
We had an authentic English breakfast here and couldn't be happier by the experience, topped off by the old diner vibe, and the shouting lady at the front (I believe her name is Claudia) who calls out the orders ready. She also accommodated my friend's allergies with such respect and consideration. Highly recommended if you're looking to try the classic breakfast. It's very reasonably priced too.
Be aware it's cash only however and no washrooms. Though I read there are public washrooms nearby.
S. J.
It's an old fashioned authentic working man's caff of a sort I thought had disappeared. Proper full English, solid lunches like liver and bacon. Proper puds. No-nonsense service and the arrival of your food is announced at opera level volume. So pay attention. Cash only.
R. A.
Simply the best traditional English cafe in London. People from all walks of life make a detour to enjoy this place. The breakfasts are perfect, but don't forget to come for lunch too if you're in the area (the steak pie is my recommendation, and ask for "half chips" unless you have a big appetite).
Remember - always order first even though every table is full. Through the Regency magic, a table will appear just as your food is ready!
J. M.
Delicious breakfast and good value for money! £6.75 for a breakfast. We waited in a queue for 45 minutes but it was totally worth the wait!! 10/10 recommend
S.
Excellent English breakfast. We had to line up for a bit but it was worth it. It’s a great that you have real English people and tourist having breakfast next to each other, tells you something about the place.
M. C.
Wow!! If you enjoy a full English, you need to visit. We were staying at a nearby hotel on Tothill st for a few nights with then doing a limited breakfast and we were really looking forward to a full English so searched for a recommended nearby cafe.
We arrived just before 9 and there was a constant queue but the service was excellent, fast and efficient- they know what they're doing and the breakfast was just delicious. It is £6.75 for a sausage, 2 bacon, egg, beans or toms, 2 toast and a cuppa and we also chose 2 x hash browns each as an extra for just £1 and they were big. We wish we had known of this place before our last morning or would have visited every morning. spotlessly clean. You wont be disappointed.
Y. J. Z.
Although this place has become super touristic, it has very much kept it's high standards. Breakfast is delicious (and cheap) and the atmosphere is very much as it used to be when it first opened in 1946. Prepare to queue if you re not there before 10.30.
H. “. C.
There’s nothing special as a restaurant but truely wonderful place to have English breakfast. I visited here around 10am so it was bit busy. But there was no difficult at all to take my table so you don’t need to worry about that cause the restaurant has enough place. Also, interesting way to get my lovely food. I was really impressed by the calling :)
D. V.
Tremendous cafe. Come for the set breakfast (pictured), which is served through lunch. They do a great job, and you can't beat the prices, especially for London. That said, I was less impressed when I stopped by for dinner (see photo: steak pie with boiled potato and peas). Maybe it's my American palette, but that meal struck me as bland, and I was disappointed to watch the chef prepare it all in the microwave (in other words, nothing was made to order). But again, the breakfast options can't be beat.
G. P.
As good as it gets.....I've been coming here for as long as I've been working and I hope I can still come back when I retire. The best place to come for a proper English Breakfast.
T. H.
Authentic british Breakfast. As a Tourist from Germany i wanted to eat an english breakfast. IT was great, Tasty and Not expensive. I will be back again.
F. C.
Great place! I didn't even finish my meal and already wanted to share. Local business, great good, good price. The clientele is a funny mix of tourists (myself included ) and locals. Monday morning around 7:30 is not crowded, and food came fast, with perfect eggs. Lovely, and I'll return for sure.
R. A.
Just amazing!!!! Food, staff, environment 5 star all the way. Tasty bacon and sausage. Go there very early to avoid the queue.
G. D.
Nice traditional full English ( maybe not the chips lol ) with doorstep bread. Owner certainly a character. Busy but didn't queue too long.
P. B.
This place is just awesome. I wanted a greasy spoon experience in London and staying in Pimlico this place was close. I expected average food but I was very impressed. The tomato, bacon and sausages were great and the egg was perfectly cooked but it was the black pudding which blew me away. I will definitely be going back and received you give this place a try.
Also the staff were great!
M. N.
The experience could feel real if it was not for the long line of tourists (including us). The venue has a quaint and charming diner vibe, the food is very decent for the price. The Italian gentleman who screams your name and asks if you have had your toasts alright is part of the charm. All in all, we'll be back.
C. P.
An old school traditional english cafe. A great breakfast, cooked perfectly. For the location, the price is more then reasonable. Can get very busy but worth it. Friendly service and very efficient. 5 out of 5. A jem of a cafe in London
I. T.
WoW... just passing through, but highly recommended, and somehow the food is quality and the prices are still really reasonable, do not stop what you are doing!!!, a hidden London gem
S. G.
This place is wonderful, I try to have breakfast there whenever I am in London. Only downside is that customers are not very valued.
N. M.
Best breakfast in London. BUT get there early or you'll be queuing.
M. V.
Good value breakfast and lunch near Pimlico and Westminster.
It's cash only so make sure you withdraw money at an ATM before.
You order at the counter before taking a seat.
There's everything from full breakfast deals, burgers and daily specials.
Breakfast and lunch time are busy with workers while intermediate hours are popular amongst tourist.
The new schedule includes opening on Saturday morning which is a welcome addition as this place is closed most of the weekend.
T. B. L.
Location
I googled 'The Best Breakfast in London' and Regency Cafe would not fail to appear. I alighted at Pimlico Station and walk about 8 mins to Regency Cafe. It is located at a corner unit. I remember that it opens at 8am. After dining, I walked to the other end to take a double decker to Victoria Station to continue with my sightseeing at Buckingham Palace.
Setting
I find it very fun and interesting to dine in this old setting. It has given me insights on how a cafe in the 50's or 60's would look like. The cafe is spacious and clean.
Service & Hospitality
I said hello to the boss who was manning the cashier and taking the order. I told him that I had read many wonderful reviews about his cafe and he welcomed me warmly. I could feel his sense of joy upon hearing my comment. I went on a weekday morning and the cafe was almost full. There was a queue but it moved quickly and efficiently.
The food was served quickly. It came in hot plates which was such a thoughtful detail. For £5.50 (S$9.90), there was a fat sausage, two slices of bacon, two big half- tomato, a sunny egg, two slices of bread or toast, big cup of coffee or tea. The cappuccino which I had chosen had chocolate powder on top of the foam. It was hot, fresh and delicious. As for the bread, we choose from white bread or wholemeal bread. We could pay 90 pence (S$1.60) for three hash browns or black pudding. Butter was given with the toast. Marmite is payable.
All of the patrons were eating breakfast as I was there at 9am. I observed that most, if not all the diners were locals.
For a cafe which specialises in Full English Breakfast, I would say that they did it damn well. The food was of good quality and it was perfectly prepared. The hash browns were sooooo crispy and piping hot on the inside. It is one of the most satisfying meals I had in London.
I could not help but get business cards from the friendly boss so that I can recommend Regency Cafe who are going to London. I feel that I had experienced the British culture and heritage by dining at Regency Cafe. You are my Number 1 Cafe in London !

Really nice Breakfast, Highly recommended
N.
The best breakfast in town without a doubt and the staff are amazing, a place where you can mix with the suited and booted and bob the builder without being judged …amazing place and worth a try if your in the area 👏👏
D. C.
So friendly, and personable in such a short time that I can't believe it. Many options, but all good. Don't worry about the line or the tables. It moves quickly, and tables open up as fast as they serve with lightning fast cleanup. Must go even if you're just visiting London.
H. Y.
Phenomenal breakfast joint. Cash only and very old school, no table service, so order at the counter. Somehow this place moves efficiently even with a line out the door. Food was fantastic, great quality and great portions. Very impressed
J. M.
One of the best greasy diners in London and I can see why! Went here for my first official English breakfast (besides the one at Heathrow) and was not disappointed. Excellent comfort food with huge portions, will definitely keep this place in mind next time I'm in town!
A. A.
The Original!
This place is like a flashback and at the same time outlook of the future, where construction workers and business people have breakfast, lunch or just a coffee.
The dishes are amazing and the atmosphere incredibly welcoming plus the one and only owner of this Café welcomes and takes your orders, cheering you up with some exclusive London accent proving himself to be a real gentleman.
Cheers to that place, a must see in London!
R. N.
Top notch cafe. Been around since 1946. The place is an old school London cafe which you do not see much of these days. Been here many many times over a long period of time, can recommend it if you have a long day's graft ahead of you
E. M.
Great place to have a traditional English breakfast! Food is fantastic, prices are cheap and the cafe has been family run for generations.
L. T.
A nice place to have a traditional British breakfast
E. C.
I have to thank this cafe for introducing me to the traditional English breakfast many years ago. I've tried many since then and although some have been close. This is by far my favorite place to have one.
I should of known how delicious it would be from the huge line outside filled with locals the first time I came. This is the spot for a quick, cheap, and taste like moms homecooking meal. Business professionals from all sorts come here for the grub; from policeman to construction and medical field.
The English breakfast is basically pork N beans, blood sausage, toast, and a poached egg. I was never a fan of poached eggs until having it here. Now they're my favorite style of egg. The combination of food in this dish goes so well. My husband enjoys the bacon sandwich here. Its literally loads of bacon with a sauce on two pieces of bread. Wash it all down with a huge jug of orange juice. Yum!!
The English breakfast is a great deal because it comes with tea or coffee, but honestly all the prices here are amazing.
T. H.
Tasty breakfast, excellent value for money, lively place decorated with lots of memorabilia. Will be back!
N. G.
Don’t let the queue put you off (oh and bring cash!!) This cafe is SO well managed that the line moves fast enough. I had lady with the incredibly loud voice - honestly she must have operatic training, it’s phenomenal - that makes the experience even more fun. And the food - oh the food - you won’t get it much more authentic than this unless you cooked it for yourself at home. And even then, it probably wouldn’t beat this. Extremely generous portions (see photo) and the price - I paid £7.20 for a set breakfast with added hash browns. Don’t miss it! Well worth the hike from the station.
A. G.
Made famous in various films. Real fame is the old school good grub, service by a shout and cafeteria vibe. Best fry up in London and so well priced, especially considering the location. A true institution.
C. R.
A place you simply must go! Delicious English breakfast. Price couldn’t be better. Just be prepared when you come in to order first before sitting down, grab your toast and tea/coffee right away, and listen for your food. Don’t be scared by a line...it moves fast.
G. G.
The best English breakfast!!!
An experience!!!
c. c.
Must go place for tourists and London enthusiast alike!
Real grease spoon, amazing atmosphere, mixed crowd and obviously amazing English breakfast!!
Be careful to go early on Saturday as it close at 12. Bring cash and don’t be scared by the queue: it’s a fast moving one!
L. R.
Partner and I visit when we can. Proper ol' fashioned British Caf with delicious breakfast. May it be open forever!
M. X.
Well worth seeking out this long established cafe. Great atmosphere, would say a retro fitout but it has been here for so long I'm guessing everything is original. Owner is a character and uses customers names making everybody feel welcome even with his booming voice. Food cooked fresh and was delicious. Set menu cannot be changed but sides or extras are available. Great way to start a days sightseeing on a full stomach.

After 9 years in London I still can’t find a better breakfast than this one. Price, quality of the ingredient, vibe: nothing can beat them
B. H.
Really good breakfast in an old school cafe. Good quality and priced food arrives surprisingly fast. The decor is really old school but in a good vintage way. Good value for Westminster as well
E. H.
very lively old fashioned cafe good food nice staff
entertaining listening to the orders being screamed out.
B. G.
Awesome place. Established 1946. Still got that old-school feel, including Gingham curtains, cash-only payments, very cheap food. Just the best.
R. B.
A gem of a place and very good value for central London. £5 will get you a good-sized main meal (including perfect chips) and a soft drink. Easy to see why it's kept going since 1946.
R. C.
Had seen this London icon featured on the Food Channel so had to visit seeing I was in the area. A very slick operation particularly highlighted by the friendly and helpful lady running the front counter, she remembers who ordered what and calls them when their order is ready. My breakfast only took 5 mins, it was the set breakfast that filled me up for the rest of the day. 5 stars Recency Cafe !!
s.
Set breakfast was nice hot and eggs cooked perf ct. staff friendly and had a great voice to yell out when your order was ready.
Keep up your excellent service. Worth a visit
R. W.
The best places to eat have that little bit extra. At Regency Cafe you feel like you're dining amongst friends. Wonderful place.
A.
Always the best in London. My every trip breakfast routine. Cheap & tasty!
M. B.
So good and a great bargain. A traditional English breakfast for £7. You place the order at the counter and they will call out for you to pick up when ready.
f. L.
I occasionally go to the Regency with a dear friend to share breakfast and chat before work. I travel in from East London to get there. It's well worth the journey. Welcoming staff, good food. A great time. Surprisingly good prices.
S. P.
Best full english breakfast in London. Not pretentious, great location, big portions, good coffee, you won't find anywhere better for the price! Who needs the fancy places, just come to Regency and have an amazing breakfast in a welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 definitely recommend!
A. C.
One of the best full English breakfasts around! Simple retro interior. £6 for a cooked breakfast, toast and tea. Cash only.
S. J.
I love this place so much. Amazing food (vegetarian and meaty), really friendly staff and excellent prices. I've been for breakfast at nearly 30 places in London now and this is still my favourite. You can't beat the classics.
M. B.
A London classic! The food is excellent, well cooked and the staff are friendly, but it's worth the wait for a while.
R. D.
Food was good served hot and quick, the woman behind the counter should be a town crier got a voice like a foghorn.
I. S.
Really busy cafe and i can see why! Ive not had a breakfast like that in months! Staff amazing make you feel at home! Deffinatly my number 1 cafe in Victoria. I will always return here deffinatly worth waiting in line for!
C. D.
Love this place. Great honest food, in a brilliant setting. No nonsense.
V. S.
My favourite breakfast cafe! A full breakfast will cost you no more than £8 (with some extra bits). If you don’t want to queue, pop in around 8 am as it gets very busy after 8:30 am (I would say up to 35 mins wait). The food is absolutely delicious 😋
Z. R.
Excellent traditional cafe, great fry, remember to pay attention to when they call out your order.
A. B.
How English breakfast should be. Good quality and a good price. It was nearly prefect. Apart from the queue but hey, when you got a good formula your doing things right.
J.
Different English breakfasts options at a budget price. Like cheese&onion patty with fries and beans makes a really filling breakfast. Or a full combo breakfast menu of beans, toast, great poached eggs, bacon and sausage. Also dessert options like fantastic British bread and butter pudding with vanilla sauce. Service is very fast, the restaurant is really noisy and always full since it's very popular. You feel that this isn't place to hang out but to eat breakfast quickly.
t.
During my 2 years living in London I treated myself to a LOT of English breakfasts. I stumbled across The Regency Cafe during my last week and treated myself to a delicious breakfast. One of the highest quality breakfasts I had for the price range it was in. Cheap.
And the service was prompt and English which made the experience more enjoyable.

J. S.
Cool little place in Westminster for an authentic full English breakfast (walking distance to the Abbey and Houses of Parliament) that fills up at peak breakfast and lunch times. The woman running the counter is crazy efficient and has a thundering voice that carries through the whole cafe.
D. L.
Classic British caf serving up all the classics with daily specials. The decor takes you back in time, with lots of sporting moments from the 60s framed on the walls. Best fry up in London!
Don't sit down until you've ordered :)
J. D.
INCREDIBLE food with the most badass lady serving that you've ever seen. She alone is worth coming to watch as she yells across the café. Also best bacon I've ever had bar none.
T. L.
Great to see cafès like this live on in London. Without a doubt one of the most authentic places you could hope to visit.
C. B.
Best fry-up I've had in London. An institution!
S.
Loved it, really delicious breakfast for cheap price. You will not find a place like this around.
O. V.
Loved the Lady at the register calling the orders when ready with that voice.
Will definitely come back for breakfast on my next visit to London.
Excellent Traditional English Breakfast!
S. P.
Beware the CASH only!
What a great spot. Great vibe, snappy service. I can’t offer a good or bad opinion on food due to lack of knowledge of British cuisine, but it seemed like pretty standard hometown fare. Can get a bit noisy as the staff will belt the orders out loudly as they come up.
R. K. (.
What I Ordered: Bacon/Cheese sandwich on white bread.
Flavor: I never imagined something as simple as a bacon/cheese sandwich could taste so good. I'm from the US so I'm not used to this thicker type of bacon, that's more akin to pork chops and I LOVE IT! The bread tasted very fresh.
Service: This is one of those places where they know the food is so good that they can afford to have bad service. The guy at the counter will scold you if you dawdle while ordering, so just be prepared for that.
Atmosphere: Old timey mid-century looking diner. You feel like you stepped into a time machine back to the 50s.
Price: Good for what you get.
Location: Not really near the city center, so the Uber drive there was a bit pricey.
Other Comments: There will be a line when you come here, but it moves fast as they are very efficient in getting orders out.
M. W.
Lovely breakfast. Very busy inside which shows they are clearly doing something right.
D. C.
Favourite Greasy spoon in London. Great atmosphere, authentic old school setting. Great food good quality. Amazing staff. Highly recommend!
M. B.
Great English breakfast. Some queuing on Saturday, but wworth it.
O. G.
Simple food, good service. This place almost saved our small group of very hungry tourists.
H. Y. C.
Full English breakfast which was decent and considered affordable for London’s prices. Portions are huge. The queue was a tad long though.
A. C.
Exactly what you want from an English cafe. Food and service was excellent, the place was hopping with people wanting to taste the food, queue is long but the wait was short.
A. P.
I enjoyed my breakfast as much as I enjoyed the atmosphere. Definitely a charming cafe in London!
G. B.
My fiancée and I were very lucky to be staying close by to this place. And since our dollar doesn't go very far here, we were very happy about the wallet-friendly prices they had here. We knew it had to be good when we walked in. Local people everywhere: cops and construction workers abound.
The man at the register was quite friendly and the food -- the full English breakfast with hash browns was something I'll never forget. I try to make it back home now but you better bet that when we return to London we'll back!!
D. M.
We had a good and very reasonably price breakfast. It was busy, but the tables freed up and the food came out quickly.
E. D.
The line was long but it went by fast. The food was very good and amazing prices.
A. H.
Great and most of all cheap fare in a great atmosphere. Just be mindful to pay attention after ordering
E. E.
If you're looking for an authentic English breakfast experience in cheap prices and less touristic character, this is the place. Not a fancy place, no waitress to serve you but good food, fast service and a great experience.
J. R.
The whole experience was fantastic chips are out of this world
l.
Great cafe, worth paying a visit when in London, didn’t feel hungry through out the day afterwards
K. S.
Delicious breakfast at a very affordable price. Great ingredients and prepared just right. Retro decor. Friendly. Cash only.
r. m.
Nice staff, good price, delicious, but you need stay in the queue for min 15 min
J. V.
Ate here the very first time I visited London and still no disappointment. Possibly an institution in this city for English breakfast. Cash only.
V. K.
Nice and authentic ambient. Very friendly staff. They clean everything right after you. Prices are AMAZING for what you get.
A. K.
Good breakfast and very well priced. Would visit again. It can get busy sometimes with line ups.
D. F.
This place is such a gem! The good is great and the prices are amazingly affordable for central London. My personal favourite was the lady behind the counter. The way she handles the long queue and keeps track of everyone's order is a work of art
D. M.
Best traditional British meals near the Victoria station. Not expensive, great taste and large portions.
D. W.
Excellent service, excellent cafe grub and excellent prices to go with excellent coffee and toast!
Yes, I will be back.
P. C.
The problably best breakfast and branch in this area that is reasonable priced. The staff yelling at people which is pretty autentic local experience.
L. J.
Wanted a traditional English breakfast and that's exactly what I got! Great place and great food.
O. L.
Absolutely The Best from customer service to the delicious food. Thanks to Mr. Marco, Claudia and their staff cooking in the kitchen. Every time I visit Westminster from Louisiana, USA, it is a must to visit the famous Regency Café. Proud of you all, keep up the Commitment to Excellence!!!
Ž. M.
Unbelievable experience. When you see locals eatig in Cafe you know it is the real deal. Be prepared to wait in line for breakfast. But very authentic English breakfast experience. Will visit again.
C. G.
Best traditional english breakfast around Victoria station. Everything was good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended!!!
Y. A.
A no-fuss place you just have to go to if you are craving for an English breakfast (or more!!) Prices are really great too for Central London. We just can't wait for restaurants to reopen and to visit again.
J. W.
Great place for breakfast. Always make a point of visiting when in London
M. P.
Classic diner feel with authentic British food. Lively atmosphere, great for breakfast or brunch and very reasonable prices. This place is a gem.
J. Z.
Unique place on the map of London. Good food for good price.
R. B.
Amazing staff, great food. Gent at the front counter learns everyone’s name, great shop
R. W.
Fast and professional. It is quite a sight to behold seeing how the lady behind the counter does 10 things at once. Food was great. Will definitely return.

Nice and traditional looking cafe.
The food is awesome and so delicious.
The prices are the best you can get in london.
The staff is the best you can imagine.
My best experience in London for sure.
S. F.
This cafe serves a good fried breakfast. It's welcoming, has character and set me up for a day exploring London.
J. S.
Inexpensive, delicious food! The English breakfast is great as was the bread pudding!
R. L.
Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff, clean restaurant, quick service. Cash only. Busiest periods are lunch times.
G. D.
An excellent place, especially in the early evenings.
A vegetarian set option - of egg, hash browns, mushroom and beans or tomato - would be good.
L. T.
Lovely staff and classic English breakfast!
It’s super salty to me but still enjoy 💛
A. P.
One of the best breakfasts I have had ever!
The atmosphere was charming.
Service is nice and helpful. It is definitely worth waiting.
Highly recommended and very good value.
Will visit again when I am back in London.
M. B.
Lovely English breakfast. Coffee excellent.
P. W.
Great breakfast and the BEST cup of tea anywhere 👌 🫖
P. L.
Regency Cafe is a well oiled machine. The man behind the counter (I assume is the owner) runs an efficient brigade delivering solid English food.
Arrived at 1030 on a Saturday morning. Joined the queue and ordered from the owner. When my order was ready, the owner called my name in a deep commanding voice. I gave my thanks and he gave me his. I had my first bite by 1100.
I can only speak of my experience eating the breakfast set with all the extras. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. Portions were generous. I could hardly finish everything. (33 yo male, 170lbs). Coffee could be more strong, but that's me nitpicking.
L. M.
Fantastic no frills breakfast, excellent toast plenty of butter and a decent cuppa tea.
W. S.
Great breakfast,service and great prices.
M. S.
A banging full English and a great place to eat.
P. E.
Delicious traditional British breakfast.
Friendly restaurant. Feel energy after meal.
E. A.
Loved the vibe of this place, we were visiting on vacation from the States and in search of a traditional full English breakfast for our first full day in London. Even though it was mid morning already on a weekday, the place was still hustling and bustling full of customers and a long line to order. Everything went quickly though, we were sitting and eating our breakfast after a shorter than expected wait. Cashier and owner working the front counter are very friendly!
J. H.

Me and my girlfriend went there 4 times in the last week on our vacation for breakfast and once for lunch. It was a very nice experience both with the woman, do not know her name and with Marco. Order was quite fast and we always found space to sit within 3 minutes. No music inside but full of warm conversations and the shouting was funny especially seeing people jumping scared when heard it. Had a lot of fun and the food was amazing, prices are very low considering we tried a lot of other places. A full menu for two people below 15£ with drinks included is a treasure find, fresh food and cooked as per order. We tried both the english breakfast and spaghetti with lasagna and both were very good. Next trip we will definitely stop back here, recommend it for others.
B. W.
We ordered 2 breakfast sets, one with baked beans, one with grilled tomatoes. Baked beans are much better than American ones. Their bacon is really good. The sausage was a bit too mild for my taste. The toast tastes like bread: not sweet at all. Nothing is special about their coffee, just goes well with the breakfast. The price is really good. You cannot sit before ordering. There was a long line, but seems like by the time you order, you can easily find seats.
J. R.
It was really a very authentic meal at least from the process of a tourist. I was lucky enough to have someone help me through the whole process otherwise it can be a-bit intimidating. There’s a queue and you can’t sit until you’ve ordered! The ordering process is also abit confusing for someone who doesn’t know anything about this style of eatery. But for the most part, it was a great experience and the food was excellent
C. C.
A very traditional great British cafe. It looks old and out of fashion, but it's actually quite cool and quirky. There are basically two types of customers here: authentic genuine builders who need a hearty meal or breakfast, and Chinese tourists!
The food was good, and very traditional English. Where else could you have liver for breakfast!?
I. S.
Quick service, good quality food at a good price. Will go again when in the Westminster area.
M. S.
This is a classic place to have a good old english breakfast. The food is delicious and fills the tummy real well. Don't be afraid to get double bacon or add what you like. Just let the kind gentleman at the counter know. Don't miss it.
J. Y.
amazing good fashion cafe. The man at the cashier is stern but actually friendly. the food is so tasty and not like normal oily English breakfast you get from the standard pub.
I've also tried the Egg Royale and I believe they make their own hollandaise sauce (or it's just an amazing brand).
Did I say its cheap too?
s. b.
The most wanted place for real British breakfast in London, every time you go, you have to be in a long queue to get this famous thing. The people who manage the place avoid being too nice, so people could quickly eat and leave the space for others in the queue. Tourists and locals can be spotted though tourists outnumber the locals.
M. G.
They are amazing. Secret place of english breakfasts!
A. R.
If you're looking for a traditional English breakfast. Make sure you you get around this gem.
B. J.
The food was served quick and delicious, thank you Emma!
S. F.
If you’re looking for a true english breakfast experience - this is it.
N.
I love this diner...it is a one of a kind ”greasy spoon.” Their breakfast set is excellent, especially with a side of black pudding and mushrooms (enough to share between two people).
B. B.
Greater atmosphere and good food. If you're looking for something to eat it is your place. Not fancy but practical.
D. M.
Pretty cool no frills local place. Went for breakfast. It was packed on a late Saturday morning with the line to the door. There was a 20-30 minute wait, but food was well priced. Bacon was a bit salty for my taste, but maybe that's how it is here?? Everything else was great. Coffee tasted delicious. Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in a quiet neighborhood.
W. M.
Fantastic great service, real old school feel to the place highly recommended getting the bubble with the breakfast and the Tea is honestly the best cup of tea I've ever had
D. A.
Great food and at reasonable prices, this classic cafe will make you a fantastic Full English Breakfast or a tasty lunch. I recommend the steak pie, chicken and chips, liver, scampi... everything really!
Z. C.
Went on a Saturday morning and the line was out the door. After a 30 min wait my group finally found an available table big enough to fit all of us (lol party of 2, the restaurant was very busy/packed). After ordering our food was done in to time.
Although English Breakfast is made up of very basic foods, it is a tasty meal. I 10/10 would go back!
I. K.
Loved the vibe of this place. Even though it was mid morning already on a weekday, the place was still hustling and bustling full of customers and a long line to order. Quite a queue but worth the wait. Amazing fry up! Really loved it and the place has a cool retro vibe :)
J. T.
Really good and cheap breakfast, I love that place.
A. S.
Awesome! Best English breakfast ever! Thanks Angelo 🇵🇹
D. T.
Delicious, friendly and efficient. Really enjoyed the experience here. Fast service, great food and low cost. Recommend it to anyone looking for a bite to eat with a cuppa 👌
J. H.
Takes a minute to understand the rhythm of the place, but when you do, it's fascinating to watch.
Food and service are both exceptional.
R. T.
Went for breakfast, found it very busy. The interior is classic British cafe, the staff was pleasant given how busy they were, and there's a strong sense of the Regency's place in the historical fabric. The food is simple and plentiful, but not especially refined and could be better quality. It is however absurdly cheap, just remember to bring cash, cards are not accepted.
K. P.
Really close to touristy areas of Central London (about 10 minute walk to Victoria Garden). We enjoyed the “old fashioned” feel and character of this restaurant. They serve quality food and service is fairly quick. We ordered the “set” breakfast which includes 1 egg, 2 bacon, 1 sausage, then choice of toast or bread, beans or tomatoes, and tea or coffee. Price for all this breakfast was only £6!!
A. S.
An experience in dining like no other. The cafe was extremely busy when we arrived, staff handled the rush with efficiency and a sense of humour. The lady at the till has an amazingly loud voice which bellows out when your order is ready for collection. Large portions and good quality food is the obvious reason for the amount of people using the cafe. The Regency Cafe will definitely be getting my custom again.
E. S.
A full restaurant tells its own story. Friendly, capable service and great food at a good price. What's not to like?
K. B.
Proper English breakfast ;)
Great food, good service and prices.
S. Y. C.
Great place for English breakfast! Coffee with milk is superb!
C. P.
The food was good but it’s the atmosphere that makes this place. Proper little greasy spoon and the woman behind the counter is class.
G. Y.
We were jet lagged and looking for a place that opened early enough that served a hefty breakfast. Luckily, we were within walking of Regency and braved some stormy weather to trek over to the cafe. I ordered the eggs, sausage, tomatoes plate and it did not disappoint. It was so hearty that we didn't feel hungry till late in the evening (pretty much went from 8:00am to 6pm without eating -- only a couple cups of coffee to ward off the drowsiness).
Lastly, I'd point out the economical value of the meal. After coffee and tea with our meal, the total was under £15. For a city where an average meal is like a highway robbery, I'm glad a place like Regency exists.
L. G.
Best fry up me and my brother have ever had, everything is cooked to perfection, the bacon was something else, even the toast which you would think is universal, is amazing, 5 stars doesn't do it justice!
S. S.
I was so lucky to live next door to this classic greasy spoon. Crazy busy at weekend mornings, the portions are huge and it's simple, honest cooking (with a few calories to match!). I liked it for dinner too - same type of cuisine and much more empty with just the regulars. One worth checking for a proper London experience.
N. T.
Food is delicious! Queued at 10:15AM on a Saturday, ordered at about 10:30AM, and food received at 10:50AM. Although the lines are long, worry not! People come in, eat and leave rather quickly so there's no need to worry about not being able to get a table as you only get to claim a table once you've ordered. Having my name yelled to pick up food by a hard-at-work Italian man is an experience in itself too.
G. F.
Okay people it's just eggs and bacon. If you want to stand in line for 30 minutes you won't be disappointed but you won't be awed either. And because of the line out the door you won't be permitted to linger while your food digests. BUT, when the cashier calls your plate for pickup it makes it all worthwhile. There's just no way that kind of volume and tenor is coming from such a lady. And a lady she is. It is otherworldly.
G. T.
Went there earlier with the missus. I've heard good things so had to try it for myself. Amazing food and I loved the setting which reminded of London cafes when I was a kid. Fantastic all round 👏
S. L.
I've never written a Google review before, but on my relatively short trip to London, I went here twice because the whole breakfast was such an experience. The food was delicious, and the staff, especially Claudia, were extremely efficient while at the same time being courteous and friendly. I don't think I've ever been to another restaurant that did both things that well, and on my next trip to London this may be my first stop for breakfast.
C. M.
We eat breakfast here every time we're in London. I always recommend it to people visiting the city. The food is yummy and the prices can't be beat. (My son really likes "the lady shouting out people's food orders"!)
A. K.
Nice greasy spoon breakfast of good portions. Certainly less expensive than most other breakfast places around.
The queue is usually long, but moves quite fast. There will be a seat for you by the time you order and pay at the counter.
E. J.
On my final day in London, I decided to stop by the Regency Cafe (purely because I am the biggest fan of Rocketman and I wanted to be able to visit the location that had been featured in the movie). At about 10 in the morning on a Tuesday, the line was out the door, but I decided to stick it out to get a seat inside and enjoy the quaint little restaurant. I ended up getting the set breakfast deal with beans, toast, hash browns, and orange juice, all for under £10. The line went by fast and the way that they do their seating is efficient so even when it’s incredibly busy you don’t have to worry about getting a table. The food was absolutely AMAZING and the building itself is so adorable and relaxed it’s the perfect place to go when you’re on vacation. I loved it so much that I even decided to go back for an early dinner less than eight hours later, and just got the breakfast deal again. The man behind the counter (who had been bussing tables that morning) recognized me and was truly just an amazing person to get to talk to since it was almost empty at 5. He even remembered that I didn’t like my tea but did have orange juice, and offered to sub it for me so my whole meal was only £7.
I honestly never leave reviews for places, because most aren’t so good or so bad that I feel like I need to say something, but the Regency Cafe was one of the best overall places that I’ve ever eaten at, and I would come back to London purely to have another breakfast there. It will surely be one of the meals that I crave the most when I go back home.

Always friendly and polite. Always clean. It's very atmospheric but often full of tourists. I have yet to sit down to eat here as more often than not I'm working but their salad sandwich is the bomb! My daughter tells me the bacon sandwich is amazing and everyone I have ever discussed it with is very happy with the food.
It is worth spending a chunk of my lunch break in the queue and is great value for money.
Real food.👍🏽
Good prices.👍🏽
Great service.👍🏽

Best full English breakfast around, for a great price. Seriously the best friend eggs I've ever had. Bubble & squeak is good too. Next time we are in London, we'll be back!

Amazing lunch, typical food for a very low price. Went there as the Rocketman film has this restaurant as a setting and left with a new favourite place to eat in London. The line was crossing the restaurant all the way to the side walk but the food is totally worth it.
L. O.
Came here for breakfast early in the morning and we ordered the set breakfast deal (2 bacon, sausage, tomatoes, toast, and tea for 5.50 euro) and egg, 2 bacon, mushrooms, and bubble and squeak. You order your food first then you find your table. I liked the diner feel to this place and when your order is ready, they just yell out what you ordered and you go to the front to pick up your food. The bacon they use is different from the states. I definitely like London’s bacon better. We also thoroughly enjoyed “squeak”, it’s basically potatoes and bell peppers. It was oily at all. Usually potatoes are cooked with an immense amount of oil at diners. When we ordered the eggs, they didn’t ask us how we wanted it but I was glad it came over easy. They were cooked perfectly. Lots of locals come here in the morning and a line had been forming while we were eating. Despite eating this meal early in the morning, it was so filling that I wasn’t hungry until 2pm. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s a corner restaurant so it shouldn’t be too hard to find.

Simply the best old school caf in London. Hands down. Don't question it. Just go.

What a treat this turned out to be! Went there because I was told that this place serves a traditional English breakfast. I must say I was not disappointed at all. The cafe is bustling with people and the shouted out orders from the lady at the counter lend this place a degree of authenticity.
Ordered the set breakfast menu with tea, toast and beans. The portions are huge and the food tastes great.
V. B.
Oh wow great cuppa !!! Food was amazing, too they definitely know what they're doing in there they know their customers well
J. B.
Tasty, affordable, nice size portions and such quick service 👍🏼
D. V.
This place is absolutely lovely ! It's everything you're expecting of an English breakfast. Given that it's not in the center of London, the price is very affordable and it makes your breakfast even better. You'll see a long waiting line (with a lot of local people) but don't worry, it's very fast ! Oh, and don't be affraid of the big and loud voice of the waitress, she's actually very kind !
Don't travel in London passing by.

If you are visiting the UK and you want to have the same experience as a normal British worker has every morning, this is a great place to go for an English breakfast.
Within walking distance of parliament, the food is good, cheap and filling. It also has a proprietor with the most amazingly loud voice.
Don't sit down until you've ordered though, or you will face the wrath of those queueing.
V. F.
Really nice all day breakfast. The lady at the front is charmingly baritone and calls out your orders quick. Keep your listening ears on and please don't take the wrong order. Rookie mistake. ;)
P. M.
Overall a great cafe!
Being a tourist of London the prices were extremely good as was the service and the food themselves. You can sit as you're waiting for your food (which for me, was very long at all).
Make sure you keep an ear out for your order even though returning customers will know that might not be necessary.
V. U.
It was an excellent break from after long. Nice food ambiance, relaxing atmosphere, the best part was the fantastic food and excellent service at Regency cafe. The staffs was very attentive and professional.
M. B.
Set breakfast with toast, egg, tomato, bacon and sausage with tea for £6? Add black pudding for £1 and we’re in business! Quick and efficient ordering, quick delivery announced with absolute authority for you to grab off the counter. Loved the atmosphere and the food.
D. W.
This has to be the most authentic place to eat breakfast in London! I thoroughly enjoy the experience and i mean "experience". Very high quality food too! Shame about the people that don't understand the brisk nature of ordering and insist on spending their entire visit on their phone.
R. A.
Still amazing as usual - last visit I didn’t see the famous owner, “Marco the voice”, but there was another person with a very powerful voice shouting the orders and keeping everything under control. It’s not only a great English breakfast, but also became an attraction of course, for good reason. I was happy to see that, in spite of the much longer lines that it has all the time nowadays, locals like construction workers still go and endure us tourists. Worth the long tube ride, I promise. From there, walking back to the center is great, as you can go though the Westminster Park and Abbey, then St. James and maybe Buckingham Palace and so on. A must in every trip I make to London.
S. H.
Great place. Proper old school cafe.
L. X.
Hands down the best breakfast I had when I was traveling in U.K. for two weeks. If I could, I would come here every other day for breakfast.
I ordered my full breakfast set with some add-ons. And everything was cooked fast and almost to perfection, the beans, the mushrooms, the tomato, the sausage... Yum! It felt heavenly to munch on a plate of hot delicious full English breakfast.
A. P. B.
My wife and I got breakfast here one morning on our honeymoon through Europe over three years ago. I still remember it, that's how delicious it was. Nothing fancy, just a top notch English breakfast! If you don't fancy tea, get there early enough that they dont run out of orange juice, I still remember that too.
J. O.
Came here with a friend from work and walked straight in. Order taken and we found a table. We didn't have to wait long at all. I went for bacon, egg, chops and beans and my friend went for omelette and chips and both very good. It's busy but a good atmosphere and sometimes you have to queue but moves quickly.
D. O.
Excellent. Great value for money.
One of the best 'greasey spoons' I've been to in London / anywhere.
Don't be put off by the ques which often go out the door! They move quick and within a few minutes, you'll be served.
Only went there for breakfast as was round the corner from my hotel. Went there the first day, returned the second, third and so on.
If I'm in the area again, I will definitely return.
Highly recommended!!!

There are certain things that you have to do sometimes and one of those is a breakfast or lunch at the regency. This place is ideal to fortify yourself for an exhibition at Tate Britain, or treat yourself after a visit.... as something to reward yourself for being so cultured. The food is all cooked fresh and the staff seem to have unlimited patience and good humour. Always try to have some change to give the correct money, it makes their lives easier. Set breakfasts are great and good value and their lunches always satisfyingly filling.
A. M.
I've been hearing about this place for a while but so far, hadn't made the trip. The queue is, quite literally, out the door and I couldn't believe all these people were queuing just for a fry up! We stayed the wait (over 30 minutes) and had a couple of breakfasts and a bacon sandwich. The breakfasts are great value at £5.50 for a large plate full and tea and toast. It is a good breakfast but I am not sure it is worth waiting that long.
B. G.
Line up and order at the counter before taking a seat. I went with the breakfast special of one egg, ham, sausage, grilled tomatoes, toast and coffee. I also added hash browns (triangular and crispy), black pudding (crisp rounds), and mushrooms. I had £10 left so wanted to spend as close to it as I could. Needless to say I didn't finish it all, but it was a nice sampling of an English breakfast. After you order you give your name and take a seat. What's remarkable is that when I went to leave the manager at the counter said "Thank you, Wes" in a deep loud voice and I thanked him back.
T. S.
This place is a must for anyone visiting London. In my opinion, the best English Breakfast out there at unbelievable price. A meal for two was around 15 pounds, with the full Monty-style meal with toasts, tea/coffee, and other extras such as Black pudding, OJ, and more. Lots of locals and recommend to be here early to avoid queues.
A. K.
I had to try the well known greasy spoons on my visit to London! So, me and my friends picked this place for our Saturday breakfast as the previous days we noticed that there are a lot of people going there! The food was really nice (even if it was kind of simple to be done). I had bacon, sausage, beans egg, bread and a cup of coffee only for 5.5p which is quite affordable. Make sure to arrive there early in order to get a seat as it is really crowded! Don't miss the lady calling the dishes that are served :P
A. D.
Fantastic tasting English breakfast, fair prices and friendly staff.
D. C.
The establishment was very clean and well oiled, the staff were very efficient and marco carried an incredible aura about him, the food arrived promptly and was absolutely smashing. Nicely priced and all round excellent service.
J. B.
The breakfast set is really cheap, filling and super worth it. For £5.50 you can get a sausage, an egg, a few pieces of bacon, beans, toast and a coffee. Came here for breakfast every other day during our week stay and always left satisfied af. The mushrooms you can get on the side are very thick, would definitely recommend.
F. Z.
I don't know if I should spread the news but.... This it my favourite breakfast in all London!!
Like 5,5 pounds.
For this price you have:
- tea or coffee
- toasts or bread
- tomatoes or beans
- sausages or something else
You MUST be full for the day after this breakfast.
Employees are so nice!
First they take your order, they give you your drink, then you can seat.
When your meal is ready, they yell in all the restaurant.
What a voice! I love it, it is so funny.
H. G.
Full of tourists of every nationality on the weekend, getting a taste for a full English breakfast but speaking as a London this is definitely the place to go for it. Easily the best breakfast you can get. It must be the only cafe in London which has a constant queue.
J. H.
To call the Regency Cafe a greasy spoon would seem unfair - to start with it has a fabulous tiled 1940s exterior, and the interior is also a visual feast - walls covered in photographs and posters. I was also impressed with the large open kitchen behind the counter - it looked immaculate. ...but don't let these features which might seem more at home in a swanky restaurant put you off - this is a genuine English cafe, with a clientele largely made up of builders and the like. Real people eat here, and the staff are real people too - genuine Londoners - I felt like a bit of an imposter somehow!
The food was fantastic - very satisfying, generous portions, and all perfectly cooked. As a vegetarian I was a bit cautious about coming to somewhere like this, but was really pleased to find they were actually really happy to cater for vegetarians (I guess being a stone's throw from Channel 4's HQ may have had something to do with this). I had a fantastic breakfast consisting of fried eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, hash browns - and the crowning glory: bubble and squeak. It was all done to perfection - the mushrooms were extremely flavoursome (not those horrible canned things you get in a lot of places), the hash browns were perfectly crisp and the bubble and squeak had a fantastic fresh flavour to it. Even the tea and toast tasted better than usual somehow - maybe that was just the atmosphere. My wife went for the standard meat based English breakfast and enjoyed that too. It was all incredibly satisfying.
Great food, and a great experience. Am looking forward to going back.
N. G.
A neighbourhood staple and iconic film location that still serves a freakishly good full English (and variations on a theme). Skip the breakfast sandwiches - my bacon sarnie had only two slices, when clearly the bare minimum is three, especially when using bloomer slices. Instead opt for the excellent value set breakfast or build your own. If visiting at lunch, go for the pie and chips, traditional English comfort food and wait for the proprietress to bellow your order once it's ready, as much a part of the experience as the food itself at this (cash only) establishment.
But be warned, do not sit down till you've ordered - it's the single most important rule of The Regency!
C.
absolute perfection of a breakfast. everything on the plate was VERY GOOD. toast and butter was delish (toast was underdone BUT butter makes everything better so). bacon was fragrant and tender enough. sausage was very flavourful. mushroom was very flavourful too. hash brown was delicious. maybe im biased towards british breakfasts in general but this place does it WELL. love the quick and snappy service too. and the humble vibes.
M. S.
Very old school throwback cafe that doesn't appear to changed much over the years. The lady behind the counter who was barking out announcements whenever an order was ready was very eccentric, but this the added to the charm.
The fully English was top notch, with great quality eggs, bacon and sausages. Washed it down with a bloody good builders tea.
C. H.
Splendid traditional English Cafe with very nice decor, plenty of deals to be had and very good variety of food, also do brunch it seems including fish and chips (sadly only on Fridays).
J. P.
If you want traditional English breakfast, search no more, Regency Cafe is your choice. Located at the street corner, you can find it easily. Cash only, no order no seat. Food is great. Staff is nice.
M. A. H.
The best English Breakfast ever. Make sure to order the English Breakfast set and add Hash browns alongside Black Pudding. You also get a good experience of how fast it is to eat and go too. Make sure to order your food before sitting down.
R. H.
I had steak pie, chips & cabbage - bringing back memories of Junior School cuisine (that's a good thing!). Can't book. Order your meal at the counter 1st & then find a table. A queue, but the British love queuing so not a problem & works very effectively with little waiting. Oh yes, & the lady with THAT booming voice.
J. C.
My Dad used to take me here 37 years ago and I used to order cherry pie and custard......I recently went there with a lovely friend of mine and had an amazing breakfast.
L. J. A.
I was in London with my friend and we really wanted a true English breakfast, we went on a search and we've found it here.
Best place to eat a breakfast
Everything about this place made our day
Food is great, the ambiance is really nice
Don't look further you've found The place to eat your breakfast
Thanks from Belgium
P. P.
Great breakfast. The lady at the counter has quite a voice, when calling out your plates. It was a little confusing to know when it was your plates as so many people ordered similar things. We went a second time and had a gentlemen who was at the counter instead. He took our names, so that it was less confusing when he called us out to get our plates. Amazing experience. First time eating a British breakfast and it was DELICIOUS!!!
J. R.
Great quality cafe food. Best fried eggs I've ever had which were cooked perfectly. I like the atmosphere but this place is very popular and busy throughout the day so getting a seat can be challenging.
D. K. (.
This is my type of place! I found it on Google before I came to London to sort some things in embassy. And what a treat it was! After full breki I was so full it lasted for all day. And just to experience the lady's loud voice when she calls your order, but very normal when you order by the counter ☺ 5 stars from me. Well recommend!
A. N.
I love this place. In terms of the food, I always get a breakfast in here, don't know what their other meals are like, but good enough I've never felt the desire to go for anything else! If you are going to try it out, please don't sit down before you've ordered, it runs like clockwork if you just queue up and order, you'll always find a seat.
E.
There is always the longest cue, and people keep coming. It really is a great “British experience.” A full English breakfast. I feel I’m in the 50’s whenever I go there!
There’s always tourists adoring it, and locals (which says a lot of the place!)
I really do think it’s a must if you’re in the area for breakfast.
Check opening times before popping by.
J. P.
I have been to regency cafe a few times and every time it's been tremendous. The service is fast, the staff and polite, the prices are very reasonable indeed (not just for the area but in general) and the food is delicious. The braised steak on the Monday is a belter and the sausages they use in their breakfasts are sensational and some of the best I've had.
E. B.
The quality of food is way above your average greasy spoon and the experience is unique but for me the best greasy spoon is the one closest to your house! I'm glad I went there and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine London experience.
S. W.
This is a proper British cafe. It's not pretentious in any way, it's quirky and full of charm. The food is delicious, proper British grub. Home made pies and a really decent jacket potato with cheese and beans! The gent behind the counter somehow manages to remember everyone's names to say thank you and goodbye, even at busy times. It's just a lovely local place. I recommend :)
D. W.
Came here and had a really nice meal. Very quick efficient and the woman calling out the food orders was very much on the ball! Will try the fry up next time!
V. G.
Great service and value for money
A. C.
Hidden in a backstreet - it's what the internet is for: A simple treasure of a proper old-fashioned post-war English cafe. Tiled, with screwed down plastic chairs, the decor and setting is simple yet oddly welcoming. The food is good value, particularly the set breakfast, cooked to order - how you like it.
The staff are friendly (and loud!), and here's the key: they rarely change. In my book a top sign of a good place is that staff remain, and work up a good loyal customer base - and that's what this place has.
Nothing fancy here, a favourite place for trades men and women of all sorts. No reservations, no table service: it can develop a queue a peak times, but service is swift.
Whenever I stay in London, I forgo London Hotel £15+ breakfasts that have become soggy decomposition whilst wilting on hot trays in favour of this place. Cheaper, better, tastier and friendlier in every way.
R. K.
Best breakfast I've had in London. Open since 1948 the decor is period to the 60s ii'd uess, but beautibeaut maintained and spotlessly clean. Food is brilliant and the staff give it an atmosphere of friendly effeciency. Food is not expensive and great value and quality. Try the bubble and squeak. I loved the sports memorabilia too especially the Spurs stuff. I'll be back when I'm next in London.
p. h.
Top place to get your traditional English dishes. Old school café that stayed the same all these years. Food is great, so is the service. Great job! Shout out to Marco!
H. S. O.
Classic best british breakfast and brunch
C. S.
Quick, tasty fry up. Breakfast deal with 2 rashers of bacon, a sausage, an egg, baked beans with 2 slices of toast and a coffee. All for £5.50! It's not fancy but it's quick, filling and the service is friendly. Would recommend!
Z. J.
Recommend the full english breakfast set with a topping of bubble and squeak and black pudding. The bacon is quite salty though. This is probably the most affordable English breakfast place in London. The interiors of the place appears to be frozen in the 1990s with an old school ordering system. The lady at the counter with a booming voice will shout for you to collect your food when it's ready. It was an interesting experience.
B. M.
Here right now. Got the most scrumptious food, filled me up to the brim! Great value for money, only £5.50 for set breakfast! Definitely will return again and again!! Great atmosphere , a real card!!
S. S.
Loved every minute of it. Very good, fairly priced, visited by both types of working people.
Most of all I loved the boss's voice which is deep and funny. A real pleasure to hear it calling people.
I understand why it is so busy, even if you'll never wait for too long before being served (good) food !
J. K.
One of the best English breakfast cafes that exist. Long running, classic red and white check look with formica tables and big silver tea urn. Orders are shouted out loud and clear when the breakfast is ready to collect so don't irritate the other customers or the staff if you dawdle and faff about when collecting it. Listen out. This is a ship shape operation run with as military precision as a command from Churchill. Large portions. Thick chips. Strong tea. Sunny side up fried eggs. You won't be able to order a chai, decaf oat milk latte here. Nor should you be able too. Not broken. Don't ever try to fix it.
N. C.
Absolutely LOVE this place - step in and step back in time to what a proper "caff" should be. Marco is a legend and always has time for you no matter how long the queue. Food is great and not just the full English - the other dishes (fish and chips etc) are very good too and the Regency serves the best cup of tea - full stop - made properly with proper tea leaves not bags and it really hits the spot. Five stars all the way!
B. C.
Great coffee, good for Monday Morning to have a great cup of tea and delicious foods from Regency Cafe. Great and helpful staff and always present. Nice service. I highly recommend the coffee.
H.
Will definitely be going back. I got the breakfast deal with black pudding, and it was pretty tasty. The place has character, as well as the guy at the register. The only downside is the limited seating.
R. K.
A real character venue and a stop-off on the film location map of London. Rough and ready, this place is a fantastic 'greasy spoon'. Most expensive item on the menu is around £9. I had Eggs Benedict at lunch for a stunning £5! and the quality was excellent. I do have a feeling the breakfast is better though - only one way to find out!
S. C.
Love this place. Proper old style cafe with bags of character and atmosphere. Food is great - basic but delicious, decent portions and really well cooked. Don't be put off by the queue - it moves quick and there's always a table available by the time you've ordered and paid.
S. N.
The best breakfast in London at very reasonable prices. Top quality ingredients cooked to perfection. A proper mug of "builder's" tea, and bubble & squeak to die for.
My go to when I want a treat.
F. G.
When you select a place you should evaluate: price, quality, atmosphere and welcome. Regency cafe is offering a warm (shouting) welcome, the best English breakfast in uk and the price are the lowest I have never tried. With 6 pound you can have English breakfast with a cup of coffee and the quality of the food is equivalent to the best icon pub of London. It is an icon in itself and since 1946 is preparing breakfast for Londoners
A. J. H.
The best fry up in London, great menu, great staff. The chips and hash browns are on another level.
Notes: No dogs allowed, don't sit down before you've ordered, and there is often a big queue at lunch time so make sure you set aside plenty of time - it's worth it!
M. F. S.
Love this place!!!
I've been there several times for English breakfast at lunch time.
Even if there's a big quee, take a wile to wait because it goes really fast!
You quee, order and they shout the names around to pick the orders.
Simple decoration and simple food, but so nice to eat there. There's always a mixture of suited office people, street workers...
Good price.
Check opening hours
M. M.
My mum used to take us there 45 years ago all ways welcome and great food plus we lived in the same street
K. W.
We arrived for lunch just before 1pm, and the queue was already snaking out of the door. 'Never mind', said our son, 'it's worth the wait'. As we passed the tables of the other diners, we could see that this food was special for its ordinariness. Real chips, home-made pies, no pretension. Just real, plain, British food. I ordered the steak and kidney pudding with boiled potatoes and cabbage (really, I don't even like cabbage!). It was superb, and with a big mug of tea cost just over six quid. This, in the heart of London, is astonishing value. Highly recommended - I'll certainly be back next time I'm in London.
V. V.
Marco and Claudia run a tight ship. Food is on the button, service is spot on and there's none of this bagging a table before you've ordered, which makes sure that everyone gets to sit down with their food. Convivial atmosphere occasionally broken by presence of local police having their breakfast, but I love the place. Evenings are very relaxed and the conversation is better. Breakfast can be hectic. Arrive early and miss the queues.
R. G.
Excellent breakfast as always. Good quick service, staff are friendly characters. You can't not be Immensely satisfied.
J. M.
Very popular cafe but despite the rush at the time I visited there was no wait for a table and the food came quickly. Great breakfast at really reasonable prices in central London! Here for a few days, might just make this the daily breakfast stop.
J. L.
No frills English breakfast! As British as it gets and the interior is very much still in the wartime decor. It's clearly a neighborhood spot, but also has its share of tourists. The breakfast special is £5.50 and comes with two eggs, toast, beans or tomatoes, bacon, sausage, and coffee or tea. A great bang for your buck!
J. V.
Quality cafe. Great that places like this still exist - proper old school London feel. Bargain prices, friendly service and awesome steak pies! Get there after 1.30 to avoid long lunch queues.
A.
Friendly staff, good prices, and good food. Omelet and chips was quite good.
N. K.
The fixed breakfast menu is a great value at only £6. The bacon was delicious and the food came out very quickly. Wish I had found this place sooner. Will be my go to breakfast place when visiting London.
A. H.
Top bit of brekkers right in the mix of Central London. This place is proper old skool , the food is good and the service is direct . If you think it's expensive just consider the prices of property around here . The fact that there is still a proper cafe in the area is a godsend.
Try not to jump when the lady yells out the order when it's ready
L. H.
How classic British, was my first exclamation, when my English breakfast was served and my boyfriend and I were soo satisfied with the hearty portions and taste it had! Great value for the price is really not enough if I have to qualify the price range of that lovely breakfast spot! I am highly recommending you to find a way and have at least one breakfast or brunch here..and once you do it, you will know why!
L.
Best english breakfast I had in my UK trip. Great place and need no reservation. One can just go there and order the food(or stay in the queue to oder the food), find a table and wait for a strong voice to call you for your food. one of the best. Please give a visit, you will enjoy
K.
The eggs here are amazing, the yolk color is really vivid! I got the eggs benedict with smoked salmon for £6.90 and it's a little strange of a combination but it worked really well. Would definitely come here again.
j. R.
What an amazing place!! Great Breakfast and for a really good price ,following social distance guidelines and the owner calling the orders At loud Creates a really quirky and fun atmosphere
Súper Recomended !!!
D. T.
Charming setting, tradition grease spoon food and no smell of fried!
J. W.
Great atmosphere, proper old school cafe ( bit of a rare find in London these days). Wonderful staff and great prices. Not to be missed. Come a couple of times a week. Be prepared to queue and possibly share tables at busiest times. I usually come around 2pm or 5.30pm to beat the crowds. Always quick service at whatever time. The best.
N. D.
This sweet little cafe is a gem in Central London. Stumbled upon it during my morning walk, just a minute away from my Airbnb. Didn't know this place was super famous. Fruit tart with custard is to die for. Pricing is so reasonable, you won't believe your eyes.
S. R.
Good breakfast options. Generally a long queue to order. Food is freshly cooked and served. The owner remembers all the names who orders! He personally takes the orders and serves st the counter. The place is super crowded at the breakfast time. The food is comparatively cheap.
D. H.
Gorgeous cafe outside and inside, lots of old memorabilia.
Seems almost unfair to describe it as a greasy spoon, but does all the staples and cheap as, err... chips.
Gets very very busy at lunchtime, expect to queue and don't even think about taking a seat before you've ordered.
Also worth it for spotting startled first-timers jumping out of their skins as the softly spoken lady behind the corner bellows the orders when they're ready and the word "...BEANS" echoes off the tiled walls.
A. E.
Nice food and the coffee place takes you back to the old school london cafes lovely place. Decor is amazing. Nice and clean yet very historic. I would recommend anyone who is visiting london for a short time Regency cafe is a must place to visit. It's a piece off london. You ain't been to london till you have had a full English and a cup off tea from Regency cafe SW1. It's as if you come to london and dont go to Buckingham palace f. What the heck will you tell people when you go back home. Fo to this establishment . It's as londoner as you get. Layer cake was filmed here along with many other English british movies. You need to go here highly recommended!
S. D.
A British friend recommended this place to me and so, I decided to go back in August.
The food is typical British greasy food (I liked it!). The vibe is very laid-back and oldschool.
M. G.
Everything about this place is great.... Well organised, efficient, great value for money (inexpensive), great food, lovely staff. If you're wanting to be pampered or treated pretentiously then go somewhere else. Good, honest food delivered quickly and efficiently (when your name is called out) with no pretence to be anything other than a good, honest cafe. It's so popular the queue is out of the door but you don't have to wait too long due to their efficiency.
P. C.
Tons of character in this old-school cafe. All-day breakfasts, plus all the classics like lasagna, baked potato etc. Massive portions, all cooked fresh.
J. M.
Wow! This place is amazing. The best traditional breakfast, and the place serve you so much for so little.
***The only downside is that they only accept cash, so make sure to go there with cash.***
If you are in London, go to Regency!
C. P.
Ive been visiting this place for quite a few years and its very reasonably priced. My kids love the breakfasts there and find it quite entertaining that your order is literally shouted out when its ready! Very good location and accessible to reach from St. James's Park station and Victoria. The staff are friendly and very efficient.

This place is mental busy at lunch time on a Friday, but it was well worth the wait! I had the "set breakfast" and it tasted like quality ingredients were used which is a surprise as the prices are very reasonable!

Worth flying all the way from California for! Well, not quite, but I do love an English Breakfast when I return home to the motherland and this place was a great find just a short walk from our hotel. Place your order and wait for the one-woman PA system bellow out for all to hear when it is ready. One word of advice - I thought the tomato alternative in their standard set breakfast would be slice and fried tomato but it is three large tomatoes from a tin. I'll think I'll go with the baked beans next time.

Had here a great and cheap full english breakfast. We had to stand in line for a few minutes but we don't mind. I love the lady behind the bar when she shouted out loud the ready orders.
J. K.
Great breakfast, great price! There’s always a queue so better to come earlier. The house rule is that you are not allowed to sit down before you order.

Really historic place. Classic English cafe straight out of a time machine. Formica tables, signed photos on the wall. Don't expect anything healthy - it's fried breakfasts, pies, chips and sausages. But it's cooked fresh and super popular. There's often queues out the door.
F. B.
a MUST DO for british breakfast fans. For a really fair price you get everything it needs to start your London day authentically. Yeah maybe it's not super spacious and maybe you find yourself in a line before the cafe but it is worth it and the lovely staff will make you feel comfortable right from the start. The inside might look like from the 40s but that is just because it IS from the 40's. Art deco at it's best!
H. F.
Proper greasy spoon that serves proper breakfast. There's usually a queue out of the door. Good quality food. Not open Sundays when you'd need a tasty fry-up but apart from that a handy local eating establishment.
S. U.
Regency cafe is bursting with charm and it's also a bloody good breakfast reasonably priced to boot! I'm just sad it's taken me this long to find it! Must go back for dinner at some point too and to grab myself some sponge and custard!
M. W.
Enjoyed my meal very much- good ambiance and lovely staff. Very reasonable prices 😀
J. W. C. H.
Bucket list completed! Busy and lively place
J. W.
Brilliant food. Tips: Know what you want before you join the queue as the owner is a proper Londoner and will deal with you accordingly if you turn up to the till and don’t know what you want, similarly remember your order as it is yelled out for you to collect. Decor inside is classic and has been used in many films.

A reappraisal of the 'full-english' breakfast and associated culinary comforts rebooted with enthusiasm and smarts.
Here hearty helpings be heaped high - You get the full Monty yet amidst the clientele no workers overalls or builder’s crack in sight.
Efficient and purposed here, staff are sunny-side-up and really purposed + primed.
T. K.
Love it, a favourite spot of mine for breakfast on any visit to London. Old school heritage Café on a 60s style. Great decor, staff & grub.
K. R.
I'll be honest: there's a line out the front door, the tables are crowded, the space is small.
You get to admire the walls, bathed in modern history. You get to sit down and rub shoulders with locals, tourists, and anyone else who might show up. You get to watch the hardest working front cash/barista/waiter I have ever seen call out in a sergeant's voice the presentation of every order.
You get everything that you pay for, and you get it perfectly made. You get London, if only for a brief, transitory speck of time. You get perfection.
S. T.
It's just brilliant! The breakfast set is £5.50 and comes with egg, bacons, sausage. You also get choose between tomatoes/baked beans, coffee/tea and toast/bread. Add on black pudding/bubbles and squeak/hashbrowns for 90p. Be adventurous and try the black pudding or bubbles and squeak (yummy). The food is cooked fresh so the queue may get really Long.
It will get really busy from 9am so go before that .
J. M.
Got to be one of the best cafes in town - don't expect expensive trendy decor or waiter service - do expect to queue... the full English with toast and strong tea all @ £5-50. It must be one of the best value breakfasts in town. Full of 50's style with formica tables fixed benches and sauce bottles on the table all run by the owner who must be (should be) an opera singer. I pay a visit every time I am in London
C. H.
The food is well-done but bog-standard English fair, but what really makes this place is the atmosphere - the feeling of East London transplanted into Pimlico, the clientele of local workers, and the fantastic counter man who booms 'Two eggs, bacon, toast and beans' when your food is ready. Just don't sit down before ordering - they get a bit touchy!
郭.
Great place to enjoy your weekend breakfast
J. M.
Had a brunch here with my girlfriend the other day. We come regularly but I only now remembered to write a review. It serves traditional English breakfast and lunch food. Everything is so delicious, and affordable. There’s not a thing we tasted that we didn’t like.
S. C.
Great food, quick service, great pricing. Don't be put off by the queue, they go quickly and you'll always get a seat. Remember to bring cash as no cards accepted!
D. M.
This place is amazeballs. It serves one of the best fry-ups I’ve had in London and yet, for London, it’s not that expensive.
The cafe itself is always busy, so be prepared for a little bit of a queue and a little bit of a wait. It’s worth it though.
M. M.
How can such a softly spoken lady have such a booming shouty voice when she’s calling out the orders for collection from the counter?!? It’s like she is releasing demons!!! Posh Greasy spoon!!! Food is excellent, price is high as expected. Getting more and more touristy and rightly so. It’s a great destination for a slice of what British working men’s cafe culture used to be all about. Sets the standard for ‘spoons’ across London. Just don’t sit next to the till. ;-)
C. P.
Atmosphere and price are great with Regency Cafe. As great as these were, the food was so greasy that I felt unwell afterwards. I have had a better breakfast at my local church's coffe morning. I will say- the toast was delicious.
B.
Great place! Tasty food nice drinks. Quick service bit crowded in the morning.
L. S.
This place is ridiculously good. I had the English Breakfast and it was divine. The hash browns were dark and crispy and the eggs were fantastic. Can't go wrong with some tea either and I actually enjoyed the beans as well.
S. S.
Loved this place. Came here for the first time and what I call a proper cafe.
Service was top and the woman at the front was very welcoming.
The food tastes good and I will for sure come back
J. K.
There's a wait but it's well worth it if you're looking for greasy spoon goodness. Nice staff. Know what you want before you get to the front of the queue. Toast runs out and regular bread slices are huge.
J. S.
Excellent long established café (a good 30yrs possibly longer).
With very decent sized portions of yummy English breakfasts.
Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Popular with the locals.
On the corner of Page Street and Regency Street. In close proximity to Horseferry Road, St Stephen's Church, St John's Smith Square, Westminster Abbey, the River Thames, Causton Street Playground, Tate Britain, Royal Horticultural Halls, Channel Four, Victoria Street and Westminster Cathedral.
P. H.
Best fry in London. The Regency has a real old school feel to it, and the food is excellent - and very cheap by London prices.
Just remember to pick up your order when it is shouted out - otherwise you'll get a gentle telling off from the lady behind the counter.
O. A.
Excellent fish with a big amount of chips and a very taste mushy peas are served in this cafe. It is looks a bufe, but it is more than a fast food restaurant. The service is good, it is interesting when yout food is ready wou will hear your name from the desk.
V. M.
Great full english on offer, quick service and great service at that too. Food was really good and the lady behind the counter has an incredible voice, once you visit you'll know what I mean. Top notch greasy spoon.
c.
Had wanted to try this place for years and finally got the opportunity. It's decent quality food at a reasonable price for the location but you are really going for the experience - a kind of 'stuck in time' greasy spoon and the amusingly loud shouting of orders. Glad I visited and would probably return if I was more local.
K.
Would go back in a heartbeat. The guy at the counter is great. Food is simple, consistent and affordable. Only con for me was that I couldn't order the egg how I wanted. They just gave it to me sunnyside up regardless. Maybe it's a British thing.
M. B.
A typical cheap and good great fry-up and lots of queue if you come around 11.30!! Make sure you arrive early.
Not the kind of place where you spend time but you sure don’t spend too much cash!
M. D.
I wanted to get the local taste of London and I definitely got it there. The vibe is very unique, the whole place is crowded, but surprisingly we had no trouble finding a seat. The food is good, the prices are ok, what's best is the atmosphere!
g. w.
Good friendly service. Lush food. Definitely worth a visit if your in london
F. T.
Had the set breakfast. Was good value at £6 including coffee and toast. Included fried egg, beans, sausage and 2x bacon. Minus one star as it's confusing as to when your food is ready
C. C.
If you're after a place that does the classic English menu from a full English, liver and bacon, corned beef, steak and kidney pudding with chips/spuds through omelette's, bacon sarnie's and good old puddings like apple pie and custard. This is the place. Staff are great, place is great. Be prepared to join the quick moving queue and find a seat- it's popular.
T. C.
Brilliant Trad Cafe. Don't be put off by a queue. Its cos it's that good! It moves quickly. Only take a table after you have ordered. Not designed for lottering. Awesome food. Good Value.
F. d. C. A.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant! Amazing service, amazing food and amazingly still kept the typical charm of a REAL full english breakfast. Higly recommend for anyone looking for some real british experience in London. (there might be a queue, stay in the queue don't be a tourist)
T. N.
Awesome place to get an English breakfast. I love their service, efficiency, and seating system. The food is amazing and is a must try if you've never had an English breakfast before. Try the liver with your breakfast!
K. G.
Just look at the amount of Five star reviews for the Recency Cafe and you get an idea of how much this place is loved.
Excellent food and spotlessly clean with amazing 50's/60's architecture.
You will find all walks of life happily eating here side by side. A real gem!
J. B.
The best customer service I think humanly possible.
M. W.
Well it's one of the few old skool proper cafes left in London (not the bog standard cafes that are everywhere in London and usually owned by Turkish people). I'm on about famous and renowned cafes that are packed everyday with builders, scaffolders dustmen etc who go out there way to eat in good cafes and the food is pukka as usual of you want a proper slice of a London cafe then the regency is the one,it's also been featured in movies and TV shows...
F. O.
Arguably, the best place to dine out in London. THE best place for traditional British breakfast. Fabulous homemade dishes for stunningly low prices.
K. M.
We were brought here by a friend who lives in London on a Saturday morning. We had to que for 25 minutes to be served but people seemed very willing to wait. Don't think I'd wait that long again if I was going here but I would return if there was a shorter questions. Food was good and at a fair price
G. I.
Situated off the main road sits this cute little corner diner. What brought us here was its awesome reviews and because we were starving for some good breakfast. Walked in at 9AM on a weekday and it was packed....don't people work???? lol
the menu is simple and straight to the point. i went with just the usual "english breakfast" as they call it. But this was their combo special which comes with 1 fried egg, 2 bacons, 1 sausage, baked beans and toast (choice of white or wheat) or just bread and coffee or juice. i asked for an additional egg because.....we eats just ONE?
the beau went crazy and ordered the liver sandwich which is exactly what it is, pieces of liver stuffed between 2 white pieces of bread. he also ordered orange juice which comes in a jar and they give you glasses to fill them in. our order total came out to £10.50 which may seem like a GREAT deal.....until you convert it...and realized it actually cost $15 (-_-) that's London for ya.
other than the price, the food was wonderful and the service was really friendly. theres this lady probably in her 40's that works the counter and man, she's a beast! taking all the orders, grabs the beverages, prepares the toast and bellows out your order once its ready! the only thing she doesnt do is go into the kitchen and cooks the food!
the people working here are genuinely really nice. just a few notes: its cash only, there are no restrooms here and order first before grabbing a seat!
J. W.
A nice and decent meal! Especially for that price. It has a cozy feeling and they are very quick with your order. They even had the pies ready around 8. A total recommendation.
D. G.
Really recommended for a typical English breakfast! Staff very nice and friendly. No cash accepted at the time I went there. Must go for a very english experience in a not too much touristy location
S. M.
Seems to always be very busy, but service was fast. We find the prices cheap. Portions are big and food is simple but sooo good. The man @ the register was very nice and quick. Only Cash. You feel like a local eating there.
C. K.
Beautiful little place with its very own style, a really nicely priced breakfast combo deal and great authentic food. When arriving at Victoria coach station in the morning, this is always the first place I tend to go.
C. B.
Awesome place and great price. Get there early before the line forms!
G. L.
Amazing if you are looking for authentic British food. Great service, with an atmosphere frozen in time since mid 20th century. It is definitely worth seeing if you are visiting London for a few days.

The Regency Cafe is one of the few remaining breakfast places in London which can both justifiably be called a caff and provides enough quality English food not to depend exclusively on this image to get customers. Lying in a relatively obscure part of Westminster lodged between rich areas and poor areas, it draws an interestingly varied crowd, ranging from regular clientele to foodies to Sloane Square-types. This mixture compliments the sound of the busy kitchen and the booming voice of the clerk, who on first glance appears to be the hardest-working cashier in London. My friend and I each had the full English (£5.50 or so on its own) with a few standard and not-so-standard additions (hash browns, bubble and squeak, black pudding). Unlike a lot of full English breakfasts, it wasn't let down by either the quality of the sausage nor the fried egg. The egg had a nicely runny yolk and the sausage, although not particularly exceptional, didn't do that unpleasant thing of 'deflating' once pricked by the fork; a good amount of toast was also provided to finish-off the remains. Particularly good, however, were the bubble and squeak and the black pudding, which are well worth returning for, even if it's only because virtually no-one else in London still provides them in their breakfasts. All-in-all, it was an above average breakfast, with enjoyably traditional trimmings. But the bustle and energy of the place makes it a truly exceptional breakfast experience, which is well worth going to despite the trouble of getting there.

Found this place by accident, owner was lovely. Went here again out of my way just to go again. Great classic 'greasy spoon' cafe with a higher-end London aesthetic and quality. How a London cafe should look, feel and be!
G. S.
The Regency Cafe is a well loved institution appreciated by civil servants and cab drivers alike, a gem, a blast from the past and the last bastion of English 'transport caff' traditionalism with acceptable pricing. Owned by the same 'diamond geezer' for an age, the food remains reliable, stodgy, British with a full range of breakfasts, breakfast snacks (beans/egg/cheese) on toast and lunches (whatever you can think of - with chips or mash). Lest we forget the additional factors of puddings with custard, this wonderful, popular stalwart of comfort food should be given a preservation order by the Queen and anyone wishing to be granted citizenship should eat here first. As an additional note, it has been in the movies a few times, most notably in Layer Cake, where an Irish guy gets a nasty beating to Duran Duran's Ordinary World. Visit, eat, love and treasure.
Y.
Food is super good with good price, full breakfast set for just 6 pounds including coffee. Added hash brown which is so so good, crunchy but moist and almost buttery inside.
A. W.
Good food in an iconic London cafe. Important to know that it's cash only and that you can't reserve a table. You need to stand in the line, order and pay before sitting down.
m. a.
Old classic feel to it. How a greasy spoons should be. The staff were friendly and above all, the food was great. £5.50 for a set breakfast and 90p for add ons on a standard breakfast.
T. S.
A London institution with a fantastic atmosphere and service. The breakfast is amazing and such good value, I'd eat here everyday if I wouldn't become the size of a house.
N. T.
Just fantastic. A proper diner with fanatic service and food. Don't let the line scare you, by the time you order, there will be a place for you to sit. Blood pudding is worth the extra fee
S. M.
This was the best breakfast I had in London. Great food, quick walk from Victoria Station, and an amazing value. There's a line for a reason, and it is worth the (generally quick) wait.
S.
Good full breakfast to start the day. Great service.
