Lovely decor on the inside, service was good. The breakfasts themselves were good; presented lovely and tasted great. My criticism would be that the poached eggs on both dishes were slightly overdone, with the egg size themselves quite small in actual size. This was more of a notable factor on “The Garden Royale” and, at £13.50, I would expect medium sized eggs at the very minimum. All in all, it is a fine cafe and worth a stop if you are in the area.

This cafe can be found as you walk along the Thames in Greenwich. Great food and atmosphere. Loved their homemade donuts sprinkled with pistachios and served with ice cream! Staff were very friendly & efficient & it's dog friendly too! The owners were present & came over for a chat which added to the warm hospitality. A guitarist added to the ambiance of a beautiful sunset on a Friday night. Will definitely be returning!

We went there for new year’s eve in 2021 for the last branch of the year - I love the decor inside and of course, the lovely river view! We’ve ordered egg benedict with salmon and it came almost in 5mins after the order - the only thing is that there are so many good breakfast menus that are only available for the morning time! I'm going to come back to get them soon though. Needless to say, the service was great. Friendly and very quick! 😊

Fantastic place on the river front. The owners (Husband and Wife) are lovely, always very chatty and accommodating. It’s great to see somewhere independent, that has great food and friendly staff (the cod burger is amazing). Oh, and they are fantastic with dogs. Our own dog is obsessed with this place and the staff are super accommodating to her. Best cafe in Greenwich!

Really lovely setting and love the attention to detail inside, it has a nice atmosphere and view of the river. The food was good and flavoursome. I’m just rating a star down because my muffins were a little on the dry side with the benedict, and the flat white was far from the best coffee I’ve tried in Greenwich. But overall I would recommend it here if you are looking for a brunch/lunch and somewhere to relax

We have been coming to the River Gardens since it opened, love it. It’s a really friendly atmosphere and the staff are so welcoming. Food is delicious, especially love the Med breakfast. Nice cafe along river thames. It has lovely interior and great view. Staff is friendly and good breakfast menu. Due to pandemic, seating arrangements is very spaced out which I really liked.Food was okay, we ordered veg English breakfast, pancakes with bacon, hot chocolate & freshly squeezed orange juice. Freshly squeezed juice was really nice. Also, vegetarian English breakfast was good, specially loved veg sausages. They also have vegan options which is great. Overall we had good time, will recommend for breakfast. And full marks for interiors, I loved their interiors.

We visited because of the great reviews and we are very glad we did. The Cafe looks wonderful with lots of nautical and local themes. The staff were very welcoming and the service was great. We are currently following the Slimming World diet so asked for just poached eggs, muffins and mushrooms, which isn't on the menu, and they were very accommodating. It tasted fantastic too. The coffee was extremely tasty. Thank you x

Nice cafe along the Thames river with great view! The staff is very friendly! Great selection of pastry/ cakes and a nice breakfast/brunch menu. We ordered a few dishes. The eggs Benedict are delicious, however the pancakes portion is a little small and the poached eggs on my avocado toast are overdone so no runny yolk which made my toast slightly dry to eat. Wish the chef could have done a better job on that. Other than this, it was a nice experience.

We managed to make it into breakfast serving and we were so happy we did. Martina was really helpful with the service provided and we found the atmosphere really inviting, friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing and tasted wonderful, we found it reasonably priced and the quality was brilliant. High recommend visiting here, it is also pet friendly so dogs are welcome!

Also a perfect location next to the Thames path so great to combine with a walk. Would recommend booking a table in advance if you want to dine indoors because they're very popular (easy to see why).

Lovely café by the river, quick and efficient service, nice menu with good prices. I had The Avo and a cappuccino with almond milk. The Avo was a good portion and even though it wasn’t the tastiest brunch I’ve ever had, it was well presented and I enjoyed it. The cappuccino was much better than in many other cafes. My fiancé had an apple juice which was so fresh and tasty that he decided to get a second one. I would definitely return.

I have been to this cafe on several occasions and sampled breakfast, lunch and cake and coffee. The menu is varied and the food is of a very good standard, decent portion sizes and reasonably priced. Lovely views whether seated inside or out. The service is excellent. Our waiters Arthur and Alina really took care of my friend and I at breakfast today. I will definitely be returning!!

Wonderful location on the Thames path overlooking the river. Excellent service and nice to sit in the shade on such a hot day. The eggs royale was perfectly cooked. The carrot juice made for a light refreshing lunch.

Super amazing experience in this coffee shop. We normally walk the river path but we have never stopped by, but today we were very keen on having a hot beverage and some cake. What a success!! Firstly, the hospitality is excellent and the staff are extremelly friendly.The food and drinks are also incredible and there are freshly-baked cakes and pastries. Came here on a late hot afternoon, an hour before the end of the day, in a secluded kind of place in between towers of apartments. Area can use a bit more green (all concrete in front and around), but lovely views of the river and the beautiful blue skies made for great companions to this great little place with amazing service and cozy, clean and cool vibes.

Location - beautiful views of the river during morning and evening. Being here is a real calming environment. Looking west towards central London in the late afternoon you get to see an amazing sunset over the Thames and across to Canary Wharf. Lots of outdoor benches close-by to enjoy takeaway coffee or food with a view. Inside, beautifully decorated, many plants and very dog friendly. Team - Always friendly, positive team. Consistently coming up with new ideas for food and drink menus. This year I was introduced to my new favourite, a coconut chai latte. Visiting here during lockdown (sitting in or for takeaway) has often been the highlight of my day :-) Food - Brilliant, fresh healthy options, always well prepared and immaculate presentation. Great consistency. Throughout this year the chef has also come up with new takeaway options - the fish and chips cooked to order has been a real winner. Cakes - This deserves its own category. Truly amazing and some of ... actually... the best in Greenwich. As with the food, new interesting options often appear throughout the week. Favourites include Carrot Cake, Banoffee Pie, Apple Pie and the new addition of freshly cooked doughnuts with ice cream and chocolate sauce is another clever tasty creation. Coffee - This team knows how to make good coffee. They have alternative milks available (coconut, oat, etc) and are very skilled baristas, steaming these to the perfect temperature, as well as presenting these in beautiful cups and glasses. This attention to detail makes the experience all the more special. Thank you. As mentioned before, great drinks I have had include Coconut Chai Latte, Hot Chocolate and can recommend in the warmer months, Iced tea, Iced Chocolate and Coconut Iced Lattes are a great option for cooling down by the river. Amazing. Thank you so much.

One of my favourite spots for breakfast/brunch. It can be hard to get a seat on weekends. Some of the dishes have very small portion sizes for the money. For example, the pancakes.

Came here for a brunch with my friends. No booking on a busy Sunday and we were greeted by the loveliest waitress who arranged a very nice table outside for us. After, we were served by a very attentive, sweet waiter who took our order and brought our food. Food was 👌🏼👌🏼. After, this other lovely waiter took our payment. Lovely spacious cafe with high ceiling making it nice and airy. Our barista was friendly and knowledgeable and made us and our toddler feel really welcome. Coffee was great, although on the stronger side depending on your taste. Chai latte and hot chocolate tasted nice but maybe a little too watery lacking the satisfying velvety milk I’ve gotten used to. There was a carrot cake that blew my mind it was so moist yet light and not too sweet and full of flavour. Perfect spot along the river to sit solo working on your laptop or resting up with your family!

Didn't really enjoy our experience here unfortunately. From other customers cigarette smoke blowing in our direction whilst other ate.. To the incessant back and fourth over a mild Gluten intolerance, where I had to sign a form, to broken crockery behind us, to the underwhelming overly processed lack luster fish fingers Sandwich, and a waitress dropping chips on our table too and ignoring the mistake.. This was not really a conducive and relaxing start to a weekend catch up.. I've not marked lower because friend's meal was good she told me, and waiters were attentive and apologetic.

Went into this cafe on Sunday, it has impressive decor and friendly staff, nice seating outside on a lovely day. The menu choice is great, there is something for everyone on it. We’ve been coming here since the first lockdown lifted. I recommend a walk through Greenwich Park and into Greenwich to view the history. Markets and shore front entertainment with associated eateries. Follow the river east - passing the Naval College. Stick to the rivers footpath past the ancient C1600 naval church, past the power plant, Cutty Sark pub - along cobbled streets - ancient custom houses and eventually you will arrive at this modern development of appts/ play areas - restaurant and the oasis of The River Gardens Cafe. Very pleasant environment and employees. Well worth a visit after the walk I’ve mentioned. But don’t come on a Saturday or Sunday morning as we may not be able to get a seat.

A friend of mine and myself visited river garden cafe before lockdown 2.0 started, was on Sunday and we went with our kids. The restaurant had an lovely atmosphere and all Covid-19 restrictions were in place. All the staff were very friendly, our table was reserved and was already 2 high chairs in our table (we were impressed, most of the time we need to ask for high chairs when we going to a restaurant). The service was superb, Chloe was on top of everything and I remember was another two ladies very attentive (Paulina and Telma). We ordered chicken burger, lemon and thyme chicken and fish fingers. The kids food came prompt after order and the cafe was busy on that night. Food was very tasty specially the lemon and thyme chicken (Sunday menu). For sure we will coming back with our kids again, hopefully very soon.

Lovely new cafe in a serene spot by the river in Greenwich. Fantastic friendly service from owners and staff. A great variety of food, drinks and snacks and lots of veggie options. Visited for a relaxed Sunday brunch with my dog, who was also made extremely welcome. Open early which is great - hanging around for dog friendly pubs to open at midday isn’t always convenient, so this is a much welcome addition to Greenwich eateries. Will definitely be visiting again!

Great cafe overlooking the river right on the Thames Path. Lovely people. Gets afternoon and evening sun while you watch the river traffic and the Thames Path. Had a nice lunch at River Gardens Cafe. I had the chicken burger with fries. Chicken was tasty, though it was thigh rather than breast meat. Plenty of chips and a pleasantly filling meal. Little bit more expensive than my usual Greenwich lunches, coming in at about £15 including an OJ. Staff are friendly and the place isn't mobbed.

I love this friendly local cafe on the river front. Not long opened. Very nice coffee. Fantastic location. Only thing I would suggest is that the roasted veg toastie, which comes with nachos, was a very dry dish. A small bit of mozzarella inside and ideally some sort of small dip for the nachos (or a small handful of leaves with dressing) would really transform it.

One of the best coffee shops in Greenwich hands down. Delicious and wide range of teas and coffees, table service, fast wifi, comfortable seating with power sockets, good music and a beautiful view. First time to try it during lockdown. Tried brownies, the orange cake with rose water, and the apple crumble. Each dessert Instantly transformed into a feeling with the first bite. The brownies felt like a love story 💕, the orange cake with rose water felt like a party in my mouth, and the apple crumble was a bit of a confusion to me, don't know if I like it or not to be honest. But im definitely going back once the lockdown restrictions eases down. The location is beautiful near River Thames, and the seating area looked lovely, can't wait to go back 🥰

The River Gardens cafe is a family run business on the bank of the Thames river in Greenwich. I visited during the soft launch on August 15th 2019 and the cafe is a massive value add for the local development and wider community. The cafe will be operating at normal listed opening hours with a full food and drink menu a little later in August 2019. There's ample seating inside and out. It's the perfect place to get your morning coffee and pastry, go for a bite to eat with the family or stop off as you're cycling past.

Bearing in mind this is still during the lockdown phase one period, so the shop wasnt set up for sitting but strictly in line with the new normal (physical distancing and other mitigations in place), I popped in to get sone ice cream for myself and my daughter after an 8mile leisurely bike ride. The ice cream is the bomb. Will go bck again and again and I highly recommend them. They had other stuff like hot drinks and pastries but I didnt try those out on this occasion.
