I have walked past several times. The only reason I’d never visited is because I’m trying to eat healthy, and the multitude of cakes in the window made me walk past each time. We popped in for a quick coffee, and then decided to have a few bites. The staff were warm and friendly we picked our own large table. The cafe was very nice and every table was cleaned to a high standard! Our server lady was great while we deliberated she made suggestions and was funny. Between us we ordered a vegan salad bowl, breakfast sandwich and chips. The food was pleasant however I’m sad my chips were so crunchy I really wanted them to be nice as I liked the cafe. All the other things were beautifully presented and tasted good as advised by the others. Our drinks coconut latte, and immune boosters (Carrot, Apple and Ginger) were very tasty! I will definitely return but will try something else…no chips for me my teeth are delicate! Thankful that my nephew persuaded me to walk past the cakes and try the Sawmill out! One day I will return to have cake though! Forgot to take a pic of the outside so returned and took a pic later that night!

Really tasty food! They can’t accommodate changes to food at weekends unfortunately so that was a bit disappointing as we wanted to swap fried for scrambled eggs. Lots of little ones the Saturday morning we visited - not a problem for us but worth knowing when visiting. Staff were sometimes friendly but a bit grumpy when we got in their way - which will happen when the chairs and tables are so close. Apart from this, really recommend! Especially the chai latte.

Trendy Chic Cafe in Stratford. I think this cafe has the charisma and professional service to meet most peoples expectations. They serve breakfast and vegan options included, wonderful sweet pastries and delicious variety of cakes. The food is carefully placed by the large window so onlookers passing by get to see the treats inside. This is how they got me in through the door. Since then I've been visiting for around 4 years but oddly haven't reviewed it. Cappuccino or Lattes they got the hot drinks and fruit juices everything reasonably priced. But your not just paying for the food, if you intend in hanging round, take a seat and immerse yourself is this beautiful designed cafe, its cosy and not so bright, but lit up with clever lighting which gives it a chic trendy vibe. I would reccomend this cafe, im sure you'll enjoy it just as much as I do. Its also 10 minute walk from Stratford High Street and quieter end of Stratford.

Really cool looking Café. This place is a true gem in the entire area, which otherwise looks a bit grubby. Good and fresh looking savoury sandwiches and sweet cakes. The staff were very friendly and served well to facilitate the high demand on a busy Saturday. There’s rustic cute decor and fairy light trees across the place to give it a quirky look. I had a mocha which was well made. Deffo a place visiting for brunch if you’re in the area.

The best thing about this place is the quality fresh food and desserts. They have quite a few vegetarian options and a few vegan too. I haven't had the breakfast meals yet but there is a good choice and also nice healthy kids meal options. Its a great little cafe that is very well decorated to modern standards, and to be honest has improved its customer service since my last visit, and is a deserving 5 star cafe.

This was probably the best cafe for me in East London (where I live by the way). The food, both savoury and sweet, is great and doesn't taste processed (unlike Cafe Concerto and Elan Cafe which were disgusting - they only lure you by the look of the place and by location). Having said that, Sawmill Cafe not only had a cosy vintage look but serve you tasty, presentable food quickly. They also take your plates when empty to free up space on your table (ahem Elan Cafe with your tiny tables).

Fabulous! We arrived on a sweltering weekday afternoon, keen to shelter from the sun. The air conditioning was most welcome! Relaxed vibe, friendly and efficient staff, we chose our comfy seat and waited for our order to arrive. It did, promptly. My iced coffee was, simply, perfect! My yogurt vanilla cheesecake was rather intriguing and quite delicious. My friend also enjoyed her cake & coffee. A real gem of a place, off the beaten track, away from the crowds, serving up delicious food & drink. Can't wait to return to Sawmill Cafe!

Nice little family run place. The pierogi was great, the only other place I've had it was in Krakow, Poland and it was on par. The Sawmill breakfast was also great; particularly impressed by the sausage. Very densely packed with pork. I had the homemade fruit/veg smoothie juice drink called Revitalize(?), if was very good and refreshing, I asked for ice on the side as I prefer my juices chilled. Highly recommended.

Love, Love, Love this place. It opened when the 2012 Olympics were about to take place. At the time I was a selfish google user who only read reviews but never left any. It is cosy, relaxing & you don't even feel like you're in Stratford when you come here. They have since extended and changed things up but have still kept with their wooden look. Their charges are less than half the price of places (A pot of tea for £1.50) in Westfield and it's probably less than a 10 min walk. Walk out of westfeild, walk into stratford centre. walk right out carry on straight & walk towards westham lane, use googlemaps or ask someone to point you towards westham lane. There is also a lovely (stratford) park where you can take a walk. Recommend to any tourist who would like to feel like a local or to any local who has never been here. It will become your favourite!

This place has so much potential but has far to go. The setting is very pleasant and relaxing and the service is friendly. But the service is also slow and the food is inconsistent. Order the same thing twice and it’s likely to be different each time, and neither time will it match the description on the menu. Svetlana saved our wedding! ...it was the night before and we were at wits’ end what to do... our decorator had forgotten tables for 16 people! Svetlana came to our aid, telling us all to keep calm and that she would sort something out! Indeed like our own Fairy god mother, the next morning everything was magically sorted. Throughout the whole experience, she always made herself available with valuable advice. She truly went above and beyond. The food was truly fantastic, my grandma would be proud! All our guests loved it, we’d been told it was some of the best wedding food they’d ever had. Truly outstanding service, all the staff were immaculate, friendly and professional, also wonderful table setting! We all had an amazing experience, thank you so much for catering our wedding!

Ukrainian cafe on West Ham lane, serves a variety of tasty and hearty food. Simple menu, basically go to the counter and choose which dish you want and they bring it to you. Not really for vegetarians, although there are fish dishes! Reasonable Ukrainian beer on offer too.

Really good breakfast/brunch. Since the lockdown it has been difficult to get restaurant/cafe quality food from takeaways. The food tastes freshly made and it is great quality. The pancakes are amazing and we tried a pancake specific takeaway a week ago which was not even close to the taste of these/freshness. We will be ordering again!

The food here is some of the best cafe food I've had, and I visit a lot of cafes! The orange juice is amazing and the coffee is great. You can sometimes feel like a packed sardine when it's busy and you're waiting to order because of the long, thin entrance area, which isn't helped by the door opening inwards. Depending on who serves you the service can be very direct but not in a particularly unfriendly way. I think they should increase the lighting at the back of the cafe. This place really is great. Make sure you check it out if you haven't already done so.

Nice staff but kept forgetting what we ordered / had to ask a few times to bring drinks. Not many non-commercial cafes in Stratford. This is one of them.

By some way the best cafe in Stratford. They do the usual range of light brunching dishes really well like poached eggs + smoked salmon, avocado on sourdough toast, pancakes + fruit etc. as well as some heftier options for the very hungry including an amazing full English (with superb vegetarian + vegan versions also available). What really makes them stand out, however, is the array of home cooking they offer from Central/Eastern Europe as the cafe is owned by a Ukrainian family and some of their recipes are generations old. The Varenyky (Dumplings), Hunters Beef Goulash, Borscht and Shakshuka are all as good as I've had outside of Kiev. Add to that a lovely rustic interior decor, friendly staff, superb coffee and a mouth watering selection of home baked treats and you've got the nicest spot in Stratford for breakfast/brunch/lunch when you're too lazy to cook yourself!

I want to like this place, I really do, but there are a few things holding me back: - the high chairs are terrible child deathtraps without strapping them in quite tightly - the menu appears to be largely random, e.g. the breakfast menu has a full English on it but that's the only source of bacon as much of the rest of it is egg types on sourdough - it feels ever-so-slightly overpriced However, given other reasonably decent venues force you into Worstfield, I will say that the coffee is decent and the staff are nice, albeit slightly inscrutable.

My girlfriend and I visit Sawmill every Saturday after our run, we found the place via google and we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and always greet us with a smile. The food is really interesting seeming to be a mix of tasty healthy / sugary snacks and Eastern European yummy dishes (Strongly recommending the almond croissant). But the most surprising thing is there Iced Oatmilk Latte, my girlfriend who is a self proclaimed coffee connoisseur swears blind that it’s the best she has very had!

The cafe is handy for people living or working on the West Ham Lane side of Stratford. Very popular with local staff of the two nearby housing association offices.

I like this place, it definitely is expensive and crafty. There is no go to dish for me. A lot of what I saw on the menu was abstract and experimental. I think Deadhorse Hill is doing a lot for Worcester. It's a must come to place but not necessarily a must come back to place.

Visited based on other reviews and agree this is one of the nicer places in the area but felt it was overpriced for location and quality. Service needs improving (wrong drinks delivered to tables and plates of hot food handed to people instead of put on the table) and food was overall okay though on this visit the breakfast wasn't cooked very well (tomatoes not grilled properly and scrambled eggs were very watery).

Amazing find in an area where you would not expect to find a Hackney-esque cafe! A true gem that could stand against any cafe in London!...Coffee is excellent and not too expensive, and the food offerings: cakes, sandwiches, bagels and more are far too enticing to turn down. Lovely cafe just away from Startford centre. Very nicely fitted out with sawmill theme - chunky wood tables everywhere. Coffee is one of the eBay in Stratford and the food is always great. Their range of cakes are dangerous for the waistline. It's all I can do to walk by the window some times.

I've often walked past this place pressing my nose against the window to look at the beautiful cakes inside but up until recently had never ventured in. It's actually a beautiful little Café / cake shop with a wonderfully warm and rustic décor. The drinks are very generous in size and reasonable in cost. My partner and I had a large hot chocolate/mocha and a pastry/quiche which amounted to just over £11. The food was also generous in portion. The only drawback to this place is that there are quite limited spaces, perhaps 5 or 6 tables... but I really can't think of a nicer place to spend a dreary Stratford afternoon than snug in here with a drink and a nibble! *Edit* - It seems there is another seating area! Horah!

One might not expect to find a cosy, tastefully decorated cafe on West Ham lane, but sandwiched between off licences and barbers salons, this cafe ticks the boxes. Decked out in something between Hackney and faux-Scandi decor, the food is good, the coffee is good and the prices are reasonable. My only complaint is that they don't seem to do a breakfast menu - fix this and I'll be spending a few more of my Saturday mornings here!

Me and my girlfriend come here often as this place is right next to her college, it’s a nice cafe with nice food, cakes are often very dry but what really lets this place down is the customer service, 2 waiters recently left and it has been getting worse ever since the lady that works there is so so stingy with food portions you’d think their coming out of her wages... she’s the only one that does this my gf got one piece of broccoli with her food and asked for more so the lady out 3 pieces of broccoli in a bowl and charged us £1.95 for it, none of the other staff do it I don’t know what her problem is... she tried to charge full price of tea if you ask for lemon and honey water and get fellow colleagues charge £0.30... if you do pop in avoid the lady with black hair she’s not very nice doesn’t know how to smile unless it’s to people who speak her own language...
