Reviews of Scandinavian Kitchen
H. B.
Scandi Kitchen is definitely one of my favourite cafes in London! Prices are reasonable for the quality and it’s the best place for authentic Swedish bakes. They have a shop downstairs full of Scandinavian products too. Staff are always lovely and a super relaxed atmosphere to work in or chill.
J. P.
Scandinavian Kitchen is the mecca of all things wonderfully Finnish, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. The place has delicious Scandinavian food. Salads are great, healthy, tasty and service was quick. Their open sandwiches looks yummy and refreshing, too. The meatballs and salad I ate were satisfying even the hungriest of Vikings. I had brownie with me for dessert, and I have to say...very tasty! I tried Finnish birch water and I enjoyed it! Im looking forward to returning to try other goodies. The place is quite small but once you get there, it offers an enriching gastronomical and cultural experiences. Tusen takk!
N. S.
Nice spot to sit and work. They have variety of open sandwiches with rye bread and their coffee suppliers are Monmouth and Coffee was okay. They also have Scandinavian groceries in the basement with good supplies of biscuits and chocolates.
M. G.
Great Scandinavian cafe with nice interior design, tasty food and perfect bryggkaffe (filter coffee) ☕ 👌🏻
Small shop downstairs with different Scandinavian food to buy 👍🏻
C. N.
No better place in London for Scandinavian food. Such friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. The Semla buns before Easter are an absolute treat. I always stock up with Norwegian Smash snacks from the shop whilst I'm there.
m. k.
Totally love this shop! They've got what I want from Denmark or I can get something that is almost a good from another Scandinavian country. They are super, I mean totally super friendly and the service is outstanding. Emails are responded to in no time and any queries are never left hanging.
My food/ treats always arrives on time and often earlier, cold and we'll wrapped, great communication so you know what's going on and sometimes there's a little extra surprise in the box.
I can't recommend highly enough!
A. H.
Fantastic little coffee shop and mini supermarket serving all things Scandi. Friendly and welcoming staff who will ensure you have a great visit. Whatever you do don’t skip grabbing a cinnamon roll or two you’ll only regret it 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇩🇰
B. K.
Best meatballs that my mum didn't make! Very cute café, both inside and outside seating nice and spaced out.
Perfect little slice of Sweden in the shop below with facilities downstairs too.
O. F.
A while back I bought one of the baking books in Amazon. I really enjoyed it. First time buying on the online shop. Received it last week. Attention to detail when wrapping, thank you note. All the products I’ve tried so far , really good. Can’t wait to try the rest. Will be coming back for more soon enough
S. E.
INCREDIBLE. Lovely staff, nice chill atmosphere and the food was delicious! We turned up as soon as they opened and ordered coffee and porridge for breakfast. All of this was very reasonably priced, especially considering this cafe is in London.
S. B.
A regular stop on my way to my the office, I’ve only had the chance to try coffee and a pastry. Good quality cappuccino, not too milky. Dream cake is excellent and also can recommend the cinnamon rolls. Really lovely staff as well. Tak!
I. D.
Delicious open sandwiches and grocery shop stocking Scandinavian goodies. Not cheap, but I guess this is due to the cost of importing the stock. Nice subdued decor in the cafe. As with the rest of Sweden, they only accept card transactions for payment. No cash.
L. W.
Friendly staff and lovely food! I had the smoked salmon open top sandwich with the cabbage salad for lunch which was really nice and fresh! Then I had a cinnamon bun with a filter coffee - look forward to visiting again soon to try some other things on the menu.
A. S.
Phenomenal place for delicious Scandinavian classic treats and more substantive lunch options. Their cinnamon buns are phenomenal but so are the selection of sandwiches and smorgasbord that are simple, healthy and tasty
T. M.
I haven’t visited ScandinavianKitchen cafe yet that I will definitely do in the near future, but I was happy to find their site with Scandinavian food online. The order of my favorite Scandi goodies has been safely received in time neatly and safely packaged.
I am grateful to Scandinavian Kitchen team and Adriana who left a lovely card inside.
A. S.
Delicious open sandwiches, although if you dislike beetroot as much as I do, this limits your options! But the ones I had were very good. Good value for money.
C. J.
Ordered some goodies. Took a while to come but COVID and Christmas complicated my order. Good communication.
Re goodies. Meatballs better quality than IKEA but i could make them at home so for the price weren't special.
Brown cheese was stunning, but is widely available.
Mustard great on Hot dogs. Could be in Ystad!
Anchovies.....a revelation. Nothing like salty version. Scandi anchovies, ie sprats, are totally different and make a Jannson's so authentic. Brilliant, thanks

This little cafe is absolutely wonderful. The food is amazing, tasty and healthy. The staff and friendly and helpful. When in London we make the effort to visit and you should too!
C. S.
Lovely cafe serving proper coffee and a good selection of Scandinavian foods on sale.
We really enjoyed visiting and we hope to visit again next time we are in London.
D.
Lovely Scandinavian café and they also have a small shop downstairs with a variety of Nordic food stuff and sweets. A Scandinavian oasis in the heart of London. PS - they also run an online shop so you don't have to carry all your groceries home yourself.
D. N.
So my amazing Uni Sister took me and another Uni Sister to this amazing cafe in preparation for trip to Finland later in the year, great food, great drinks, great atmosphere and great local shop... I would highly recommend visiting this cafe. 💙🧡
I. W.
Great cafe serving Scandinavian open sandwiches, pastries, proper coffee and fantastic meatballs. There's also a small grocery store downstairs selling everything Nordic which can also be ordered online for delivery. Love it!
H. L.
My favorite thing to do is just walk in the shops and cafes on a whim to not have any bias opinion. From the distance the red color have attracted my eyes for my feet to walk into this lovely coffee shop. The friendly staff kindly greets you with such lovely selection of baked goods. There was a small section in the back of the shop where you could shop some Scandinavian goods after you enjoy some nice brew and lovely baked goods. This place definitely became my favorite go to place from now on whenever I visit London that I will be back soon! :)
M. H.
Ordered my "brown cheese" and guide to Hygge book. Arrived in good time even though they emailed me to say it was hectic and may be late. Will definitely be ordering much more in 2022 as well as visiting their coffee shop. Thank you all.
S. E.
Lovely spot! An array of skandanavian sweet snacks, savouries and home grown products that would surely warm an ex-pat's heart. The coffee is really good... the open sandwiches are expensive but pretty fabulous and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are tables out the back and loads of dietary safe options.
A. K.
Excellent Scandinavian treats, delighted to find Carlsberg Christmas beer as well. Looking forward to visiting this year when we get the opportunity to come to London
S. B.
I love this place! They have amazing supply of Scandinavian food- a great selection of fresh cakes, open sandwiches and hot food. Definitely worth a visit for a tasty lunch!
It’s great to have an affordable Scandinavian kitchen :)
C. D.
Loved the trip to Scandinavian Kitchen to stock up on Scandi goodies. Love the new layout of shop and cafe.
P. E.
I ordered several packets of Danish frikadeller on a whim in the hope they would remind me of the delicious frikadeller that a Danish ex-girlfriend's mother used to make. I haven't eaten frikadeller in over 20 years and it was with some trepidation that I tucked in, fearing my memory might have fooled me into thinking that they were tastier than they actually were. I need not have worried as the first bite brought back fond memories. The only thing missing was a bottle of Tuborg.
R. H.
The staff here are always so lovely, very helpful and friendly. Great cafe and super selection of Scandinavian groceries. One of my favourite shops in London
E. M.
Excellent cafe and shop! Superb coffee and great choice of Scandinavian speciality products in the shop downstairs!
G. L.
Delicious open sandwiches, very reasonable prices for the great quality you get! Must try the cinnamon rolls too, so fresh and delicious. My favourite new lunch spot!
B. S.
I went here to buy some smash chocolate but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock! But they had a wide range selection of loads of other stuff so I bought some cinnamon rolls and little daim balls! Staff were very friendly! I'd definitely come back again!
L. N.
Excellent food and a wonderful shop downstairs, wish they had more KarlFazer flavours but you can get everything from frozen rye bread and cloudberries to ground cardamom and pearl sugar!
B. U.
Stopped by for a quick bite, very yummy salmon open-face sandwich! The toasted banana bread was super nice as well - it just about made it on the camera roll ;-) The waffle was on display, looks like it would taste very good, live the German style waffle shape.
N. S.
Tasty food, friendly staff, cosy atmosphere!
W. F.
Bought some food via delivery, posted out to me quickly received quickly too. Very happy with the service, I plan on visiting in person one day soon.
Great taste of Scandinavia, marginally closer to home :-)
A. F.
The food is really delicious and authentic, and there's a good selection to choose from. The staff was serving really efficiently and friendly even during the busy lunch hours. A bit pricey for a lunch, but I'd love to go back again.
F. H.
Nice, tasty, raw cuisine, a bit overpriced on the anything-on-toast. Chilled and quiet ambiance. Great for a job interview.
J.
Ordered from here twice, both times was more than happy with the quality, freshness of the products and a heart-warming handwritten notes. Great service, I definitely recommend!
R. C.
Lovely place to eat, drink, and relax. The staff are really helpful and nice. This time we got banana bread and heart waffles, both delicious, and so cheap. The open sandwiches here are also excellent. It's so good I'm becoming a regular.
w. h.
The best meatballs and mash in town! And excellent Semlor buns too. Great customer service and very clean
A. F.
Great little Scandi supermarket downstairs. The staff members are very friendly & it’s tidy & well stocked. I didn’t eat in the café upstairs, but it looked sweet.
L. P. E.
I had a delicious scandi salad and two beautiful and tasty open sándwich a. Great price, friendly lovely staff.
N.
Unique and special place!
I had the beetroot salad, meatballs, pickles and sourdough bread and just had to try it because it sounded like such an interesting combination. Super tasty collaboration here, the sweetness of beetroot providing the perfect balance to the meaty balls and sharp pickles. Really enjoyed.
I also grabbed the custard Cinnabon which was perfect size, texture and flavour.
I ventured downstairs to use the toilet and actually found a whole store filled with Scandinavian treats.
Cool place, will be returning !
S. L.
Visited twice on our trip to London and it was lovely. We are from Finland originally and haven’t had the chance to visit in over a year so it was great to eat some Scandinavian food and buy all the goodies that we have missed! The staff was nice and even though it was busy it did not take long to get served.
H. S.
I was more than delighted to buy some Carl Fazer chocolate at a sale price! Delivery was very speedy and I was kept updated with delivery timings.
D. L.
Great cafe - cool decor, friendly staff and excellent pastries/coffee. Has a shop attached too, but did not visit, so can't comment on that. Would recommend.
V. H.
I took a chance and ordered from Scandi, glad that I did. The main reason for this was the cheese, fabulous, ham for christmas, lamb salami ! good, herrings with beetroot salad and for nibbles, liquerice. Glorious and salty. I shall be ordering again. The packaging was very good too.

I visit the shop more than the cafe. Very pleased with the selection of scandi groceries.

The food is okay but they seem to run out quickly. Nice decor if you're able to get a seat.

Christmas was saved due to this wonderful site. Timely delivery and the food was amazing.

Amazing cafe with delicious Norwegian food. And the shop downstairs is small but it has all the Norwegian snacks you can think off.
C. R.
The best sandwiches, filter coffee and sweets in fitzrovia! The grocery store downstairs is amazing too.
D. D.
Nice place to buy Nordic snacks😊
J. G.
Excellent, friendly staff, very tasty food , great atmosphere , really good little shop
A. S.
Such a nice cafe, with friendly staff. I love coming here to stock up on my favourite snacks.
L. V. T.
A good place to visit for a taste of Sweden 🇸🇪 Lovely latte (no sugar needed) and really nice staff... After following this shop on Instagram it was nice to finally visit for a little Fika break with my favourite Swedish treat hoover cake.... I will be back for a slice of Princess cake on Saturday 😊
S. P.
I ordered online. The product arrived quickly, packed extremely well with an ice pack and was still cold when it arrived. Top class service!
M. P.
I love your Pick n mix and will deffo order again. Parcel arrived well packed and in good time. Thank you
D. H.
Got all our Scandi Christmas essentials! Great shop with the friendliest and most helpful staff.
P. W.
A little piece of Scandinavia in Central London. Authentic food to eat in the cafe or take away and a wide range of imported goods to shop, in the basement. Great to visit when you are missing your Swedish friends or are looking for a gift for your expat Danish mate. Staff are lovely, cafe is spotlessly clean.
O. H.
Best place to get Scandinavian groceries in London. Since everything is imported it's a bit on the expensive side, but I haven't been able to find any place that is cheaper so can't complain.
D. A.
If you want the best cinnamon buns in London- this is your place. Trust me- I have the weight to show that I’ve tried a few! If they’re warm out of the oven, then you’re going to be in for the best 2 minutes of eating.
C. S.
Being Norwegian, I really appreciate having Scandikitchen around in London. Never stop ❤️
K. L.
I visited here on Friday and was taken back by the friendliness of staff. I was so happy with the service that I decided to place a bulk order online. When there was an issue with the carrier (they attempted delivery and drove off even though I was in all day...), this was not scandikitchen's fault but they were keen to resolve this and managed to get it sorted within 5-10 min. They were also great in responding to my email queries on the same day. I'm impressed at the level of service received and look forward to placing my next order soon!
E. A.
For years this has been my go-to place for Scandinavian comfort food and groceries... if you haven't yet i strongly recommend a visit! ...and still going strong after covid lockdown, never closed!
A. J.
Super coffee and a good array of Scandinavian products to try. Staff are super friendly.
A. L.
Slow service but nice food and atmosphere
Y. C.
Monday Meatballs with mash for a fiver, good value and tastes amazing! Definitely a good lunch! Slaw is refreshing and tangy too, makes a very good and balanced lunch 😋
K. L.
Yummy food and lovely staff. They do the best cinnamon buns ever! The cinnamon and custard Sunshine Bun is my personal favourite... You have just got to try it!
C. G.
2 smorgasbord + a salad for £7! Amazing!
They also have 3 salads for £5, 3 smorgasbord for £8 or meatballs and mash potato.
Salad options usually are: beetroot with apple, sweet potato, mixed beans, potato salad, kale and grape, broccoli and chickpeas, red cabbage.
Smorgasbord options are salmon, herring, eggs, avocado, prawns, vegan potato aioli, carrot hummus with mushrooms and many more! They are all delicious!
R. L.
I’m not normally one to photograph everything I consume but could not resist this time. Lovely coffee and superb cinnamon bun! Also has a bijou but extensive Scandi supermarket, where I have in the past sourced reindeer meat and jars of herrings. Liquorice fans will not be disappointed! Friendly, smiley staff! 😀
M. F. S.
My go to place to stock up on Danish food items - great selection in their basement shop. Small cafe at street level serving famous smørrebrød, cakes, hot and cold drinks and hotdogs. You can't go wrong here.
K. M.
Fast delivery, well packaged and great quality items. Will definitely order again!
b.
Fab food, great little venue, lovely staff. An authentic slice of Sweden in North London. Not cheap, but a really enjoyable treat. Recommended.
K.
Nice little cafe, not much choice though. From their Instagram account I expected a range of sweet baked goods; similar to the fik you can find in Sweden. Was a bit disappointed, but a nice place for a cup of tea and a chat with friends.
R. K.
I love this little gem of a place - fantastic food, cosy ambience, a nice selection of Scandinavian foods for purchase, extremely friendly staff! If you are nearby, you should definitely visit!
A. M.
Excellent and newly redecorated cafe. Their food is authentic Scandinavian and delicious, as well as being much better value than just a few years ago. There's a shop downstairs selling Scandinavian groceries.
C. E. E.
After looking everywhere where you can buy Norwegian food I found this place and they also deliver anywhere in UK and I live in rural Wales I am very happy 😊 I can have food that my Mormor used to cook when I visit her in Norway. Very happy 😊
S. H.
Best place to pick up Scandinavian goodies in London! The food is pretty good too.
m. r.
ordered 2 blocks of Gudbrandsdalen cheese & waffle mix online via the extensive website. Product arrived on time, excellently packaged & eagerly anticipated. was not disappointed on either product. Delicious & will definitely use this site again.
S. L. S.
Incredible food. Great company and the selection of Scandinavian treats is impressive
B. H.
Thank you for the wonderful products that came promptly and beautifully wrapped with care. Was happy dancing when finding your ‘skårne rugkerner’.
Was running desperately low due to the travel restrictions. My rye bread sourdough starter is now a happy old lady again….and so am I :-)
P.
I visit the shop more than the cafe. Very pleased with the selection of scandi groceries.
b. W.
After placing an order late Monday for some 'midsummer goodies' they arrived early on the Friday. All items were very well packed and still chilled.
It was the first time I have ordered, I am very impressed and I will order again. Thank you!
A. S.
Popped in for lunch and the food was delicious, and beautiful! I had a prawn and egg sandwich, and a salmon sandwich, along with the cabbage salad. Everything tasted very fresh and the flavors were lovely and bright. Get the cardamom bun with almond paste, it is deceptively light and really tasty.
I. R.
Friendly staff, honest prices and good food. Salad taste fresh and home made. A nice lunch!
R. S.
Good food (and groceries) in what appears to be, given the clientele, a genuine Scandinavian 'local'.
I. R.
Toasties, coffee and a cinnamon bun... What better way to start your Sunday...
S. S.
Great space with decent amount of food selections.
But no WiFi connection
A. L.
I've ordered some food from ScandiKitchen online as I was craving some childhood flavours from holidays in Sweden. Everything arrived fine and quite quickly and I even got a handwritten note!
s. b.
Fab coffee and cinnamon bun.
I. T.
One of the most wonderfully chill cafes in London. Decent coffees and who doesn't like a cafe that's also a Nordic grocery store??? Simple, unfussy and overall relaxed atmosphere makes this place worth it.
A. E.
Christmas was saved due to this wonderful site. Timely delivery and the food was amazing.
C. D.
Items arreived in good condition. Well packed, protected. Love reading the sniippits about nordic culture in their emails.
C. H. J. L.
Had a problem witth an order which has subsequently been resolved. Good selection of products.
K. L.
A cozy scandinavian cafe, bakery and they have a lovely little downstairs shop too with nice little food items. The staff are very warm and welcoming! Five stars and one very happy customer.
L. W.
Love this place. As a Norwegian living in the UK, it's a great place for Norwegian food and chocolate, as well as lovely coffee and cinnamon buns. Staff is very friendly.
A. W.
They have everything a home sick swede could ever wish for.
Good social distancing rules that are enforced too.
L. S.
Great atmosphere. Coffee was superb and the same goes for the cinnamon buns and hotdogs. Can't wait to come back 🥰
A. S.
I live about 400 miles away from ScandiKitchen but have ordered several times from them now. Delivery is surprisingly fast and it's always a treat to receive an order of Norwegian delights when I'm missing Kaviar or Holiday Mix. Wish they'd open a shop/cafe up here in Scotland :)
S. F.
Whenever in London, we have to pop in. Excellent veggie 'meat'balls and mash!
S. C.
Being a Scandinavian in the UK, nowhere feels quite like home like Scandinavian Kitchen. Their open sandwiches are always incredible, all with flavours from Scandinavia. The cakes are delicious, and taste of home. The coffee is always good and hits your soul. And the grocery shop is any Scandinavian's dream with all the foods from home we all miss. It makes being far away from home a little bit easier, especially when a global pandemic stops any hopes of a summer visit.
B.
Visited here for Christmas shopping, social distancing and mask rules were in place so was abit of a queue outside to get in. Was lovely being able to purchase Swedish Christmas food for our Christmas dinner this year. They have an online store but I wanted to get our food in time and make sure it was in stock. They have high levels of stock in the store so if you can make the trip to Oxford Circus station then it's worth it.
J. S.
Awesome porridge and open sandwiches
S. C.
Excellent Swedish Semla
J. D.
Perfect for all those Scandinavian treats you have been missing!
B. R. K.
My personal embassy whenever I'm in London and want to feel like I'm at home for just a little while.
