Since moving to the UK I have heard phenomenal things about Square Mile Coffee. I purchased a bag of Red Brick which is the seasonal espresso blend. The coffee was delivered in a very convenient post box shape (Not used to that). SMCR also provided a very handy recommended recipe which means dialing in doesn’t waste too many beans and by the third shot with some tweaks got it to where I wanted it. I always like to buy the house/seasonal blend since highly priced single origin coffees don’t always tell you much about the consistency of the roasters. This however did not disappoint beautiful taste both in espresso (personal recommendation) and in a milk based drink. I look forward to trying many future beans from this great roaster.

There is no comparison to the quality of SMCR's beans and the customer service is bar none incredible! I've only recently in the past 2 years come into the coffee world and very much only recently discovered James Hoffman's incredible philosophy towards coffee. Ill admit I have wholeheartedly jumped down the rabbit hole of James's world and I will never look back, gorging on his videos with pleasure. I thoroughly enjoy weighing my beans, grinding them in my wilfa and taking the time to wash my paper filter, bloom my grind, pour over and wait for the pleasure that's coming my way moments later! :) But that's not all, whats most impressive, his ethos clearly extends to his staff. Being still a clear novice on flavour notes, I called their customer service after receiving my next order of freshly brewed beans with a question/query regarding a rather pungent bag of beans as one of them. Not only did Tom know my query before i could finish my sentence, and exactly which beans i was on about, he then proceeded to take 5+ minutes of his time to not only assure me but explain to me the difference between a naturally processed fermented bean and a washed process bean. The difference in tastes, flavour notes and personal experience. The clear knowledge he had and the pleasant way he informed me was exemplary. Now i can jump down another rabbit hole of the Caballero El Campo kind and look forward to it! Because ill be damned if i open the other bag of La Bolsa to try before these El Campo's are ground to dust lol. Congratulations Tom, your customer service (unknowingly) got me to spend the time to write a glowing review and you deserve it! Thank you and the other beans (Jamaican Blue Mountain) we discussed from Taylor's Betty's are on their way for you and James to enjoy, its the least I could do (I just cant give you the roast date as they don't know either lol) :)

I have never had this amount of confidence pulling a shot of espresso or making a v60 in the morning before. The simple fact that I've chosen a wonderful roaster has taken all of the guesswork out of my brew and I can just rely on an almost ritualistic process of making coffee in the morning <3

Although I have known James for a long time, I only upgraded my coffee drinking at home last year during the 1st 'lock down', however I've been a monthly customer every since. The quality of the coffee is superb, and we've never been disappointed, however more than this the customer service is amazing - orders arrive very quickly, and the process is very smooth. Very happy to recommend Square Mile 5 stars *****

I have to give a big shoutout to Square Mile for their amazing customer service. I ordered coffee once and participated in the Worlds Largest Coffee Tasting a couple months back. For the tasting, my kit came late but most likely was not Square Miles fault, but a mix up at Canada Post. I contacted Square Mile and they resent the kits along with other perks like a coupon code and a bag of coffee a little later. All the while, email communication was no longer then a day and was super polite and apologetic. As for the coffees, spot on to their descriptors and many unique flavors as described by James Hoffman. I highly recommend Square Mile even though we are an ocean apart.

Best beans I’ve ever tried! It’s 8PM in Toronto, but I just had to try the coffee as soon as I got my order. Red brick and the filter blend were both wonderful brewed with the aeropress and I’m excited to try them as pourovers as well!

Awesome customer service! I took part in the Worlds Largest Cupping event, and unfortunately (due to no fault of Square Mile) my coffee got lost in transit did not arrive in time. They refunded my order, sent me another sampler of the coffees, and just sent me an entire bag of Kiranga AA... all of which has been delicious! A+ for both the coffee and customer service experience!

These guys are actually fantastic. Situation: I have ordered a pack of their seasonal espresso blend on the 5th of May, which arrived on the 7th (roasted on the 5th). Without knowing any better, I have gone through the whole 350g bean bag without being able to dial it in properly. Slightly disappointed, I wrote an e-mail to Square Mile Coffee Roasters explaining the whole situation. Result: my e-mail was replied in 7 minutes, query forwarded to their training manager Gareth, whom was very helpful in explaining what could have caused my problem, arranged a new coffee bag free of charge and here I am today - more knowledgeable and with a proper espresso in my glass. Highly recommend!

I was gifted some square mile coffee by a friend last for my birthday and now won't drink anything else. Had an issue with deliveries during the current pandemic and emailed Square Mile. They responded quickly, understood the complaint and resolved immediately. Considering the website says they focus on wholesale they really look after the individual customer.

It's one of the best coffee roasters in the UK. What I love most are the online orders and packaging system. Orders arrive quickly and in a very appealing box. I gave it 4* because as being a coffee geek & a barista, I think the quality can go a step further. I have tried some other roasters in London and the UK which are better in terms of quality (Note: I have tried several coffee beans from this roastery just to be as fair as possible). ; )

We were there for there Christmas Market, it is so nice to have a coffee right where they roast their coffee beans. Amazing food and craft. They also did a free Barista introduction. I highly recommend this place for Beans fans!
