I always go steam and bean with my friend. It is a very nice place and the staff is very kind. The panini's are my favourites along with the chicken burgers. The place is sanitary and kept a high standard too . Would very much recommend

Clean and pleasant atmosphere. Customer service was very good. Gentleman made good suggestions... He was quick so I will give him that. I didn't want some of the items on my plate and he straight away suggest other items. That was nice of him to accommodate. Food was clean and prepared on the spot. Coffee was thick and the beans were good. Just the way I like my coffee.

As you enter after a hard day's work or from the hot summer weather (or the future oncoming cold of winter), you'll be pleasantly welcomed to the cosy atmosphere of this pleasant coffee lounge. On your right is the counter and the left with soft cushioned seating. I rarely give 5 stars, so this place is recommended. Read on for more details: 👩‍🍳 Received excellent customer service. 🥖🥑Panini was delicious, crunchy, moist and not so hard or crusty like other eateries that can cause oral injury. Here the panini are made and heated to perfection. 🍽️🥤☕🍰🧁They do special meal deals and drinks with dessert deals. Must try their gourmet burger on next visit 🍔 💷 Average, some medium to high price, however, it reflects the atmosphere, decor and furniture within the establishment. 🛋️ Seating are comfortable. They have 2 to a table or settee around a large coffee table. 🚽 WC at the back of the sitting area. 💻📱 WiFi - Steam & Bean coffee lounge do have WiFi, however, haven't asked if it's accessible to customers nor is the password visibly advertised. All in all a comfortable and pleasant experience.

I visited this place on Saturday morning. There was only one poor member of staff juggling Uber orders, Deliveroo orders, and sit in customers all with full English breakfast orders. The guy looked like he was at breaking point. I can imagine the quality of food would drop too if you’ve got one person rushing everything. Never the less he was lovely but I really did feel sorry for him. You need to reevaluate the number of staff you need on a weekend.

Steam & bean is a new cafe on barking road, the shop was previously employed by “paddy power”. It’s near the East Ham library. This cafe has a lot of potential, their coffee beans and machines are average. The Manger/Barista Shamsul is a very friendly person, who knows what he is doing. He knows all the recipes and techniques for a variety of different coffees, the hygiene levels in this cafe are above average. Overall, it’s a nice, neat, cosy, well decorated, modern cafe, which has a lot of room for improvement in standards and they most certainly need to up their panini game. They can bring in more cakes and cookies, there is certainly a demand for that, introduce a small range of soft drinks, throw in a few seasonal drinks, hot chocolates and improve their sandwiches. Most of their coffee and other food items are very fairly priced.

Very nice paninis in East Ham. Actually a very decent cafe (there's not many of those in the area!) Owner is very nice and keen to make everyone feel at home. Yet to try the coffee but it is affordable and the food is tasty/fresh. The cafe is clean which is the most important thing.

A+++++. Have only recently moved to the area and this cafe is phenomenal has become my daily. Very spacious with ample comfortable seating both inside and outside. Food is top notch and of the highest quality. Throughly impressed with it as I only just stumbled upon it walking past. Staff is also really friendly and polite. Definitely recommend

I love it in Steam & Bean! They do a brilliant mocha and already know what I like. I've tried out most of the local cafes including Costa and their mocha is the best, cheaper and served with a smile. Great customer service with a personal touch. There are lots of lovely cakes and sweet treats among other foods. Very clean and a relaxed, funky style. The style are really interested in the experience that customers are having, so have a chat with them. A great find to grab a coffee to go or chill out in!

I was part of a Test and Trace team set up in Newham County Council during Dec 2020, testing local residents for covid. The weather was horrendous, torrential rain for most of the day. These guys sent the whole team a cup of hot chocolate for free and of their own volition, we were so grateful! Thank you so much, your generosity made my day. 🙏

Visited Steam& Bean when it first opened out of curiosity, but was pleasantly surprised by the pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The coffee's are reasonable priced, generous, and full flavoured. The staff makes your visit personal and inviting! You can't help but visit again and again. ( Helpful and friendly suggestions on what's new, and options to order.) Customer service is good. I was just a bit let down by the Matt foam on the coffee. There are no excuses for only having whole milk available. People want a skinny flat white/latte. I want to stay skinny. Seriously!. Lol.

Visited Steam & Bean for the first time on Monday and was incredibly pleased with the service I received. The staff were very friendly and chatty and the service was prompt. I had the spicy meatball sub panini which was delish. Will become my regular spot for lunch when i pop out of work

I really want to give more based on the food, coffee and service but there are just more and more Eastern Europeans that just sit there without buying anything or just bare minimum between a massive group so they can use the WiFi. They're starting to become intimidating and just play movies and TV on their phones really loudly in the cafe. I said excuse me twice to one of the women and didn't think she'd heard me so got up and said excuse me can you please turn your phone down a little bit and she just stared me down and wouldn't stop until I moved to the back of the cafe. I used to enjoy coming here to work once/week but I don't think I'll be back for a while as it stands - not unless it's takeaway anyway.
