The place is very nice, cosy and quirky (I loved that all chairs and lamps are different from each other). Teas, sandwiches, scones and cakes are really good and Christopher is really nice and accommodating for food allergies. Had a great time there!

I heard about they are focus on oriental books and I always want to come over and have a look. It’s better for you to go to their website and book a table first before you come over as I have been there twice but it’s all fully booked. Absolutely wonderful experience. Took a little bit to find because Google Maps and the London Pass Map were being a pain, but when we finally found it we were able to relax in the Tranquil atmosphere and enjoy our very first Afternoon Tea. My Fiance was not a huge fan of tea until we came here and now he's addicted to English Breakfast (which is what we drank while we were here). They had a delicious Gluten Free option for Lunch; a Red Pepper Hummus Wrap that I could have easily devoured all day long. And for Dessert they had a Gluten Free Brownie! Be still my beating heart, it was the best Brownie I was ever able to eat without dying, and for two people it was a very reasonable price. Thank you Tea and Tattle for the Marvelous Experience. If we're ever in the Neighborhood again, we will certainly be back to see you!

Great gem located right in front of the British Museum. Hidden at the bottom of an old bookstore. We ordered the Afternoon tea for £38 and could barely finish everything. Quaint little place with posters of the old Chinese and British. Thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality. We went right when they open at 10:30am to avoid the crowd as the reviews here shown that the wait time is long during the actually “afternoon tea” time. With less crowds, we are able to enjoy our tea/coffee and snacks up till noon. Definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for an English afternoon tea experience that won’t break the bank. :)

Amazing scones and tea (£6.50 if you buy them together). Especially loved the raspberry & vanilla jam. The place does get very full and wasn’t taking anymore customers when I got there because all the seats were taken or reserved (reserve ahead of time!), but I got lucky being by myself they had one seat available.

A Canadian on holiday in London, I was looking for an authentic British afternoon tea, and found The Tea & Tattle online. The cafe is in the basement of a bookshop, a bit of a hole in the wall, but with nice little accents like old-fashioned leather chairs and an eclectic assortment of lamps. Once the food arrived, however, any doubts I might have had vanished. Everything was absolutely delicious, from the variety of sandwiches to the scones (complete with jam and clotted cream) to the cakes. I'm a bit on the fussy side, but there was nothing I tried that wasn't wonderful. The meal wasn't cheap (few in London are), but you get what you pay for; the quality of the food was top-notch. When in London again I will definitely be coming back!

Shared afternoon tea here with a friend and we both loved the stylish interior and peaceful ambience. We had a good chat and really enjoyed the tea and scones. Staff were very polite, and we were impressed with the prompt service and positive attitude. Lovely tearoom.

This tea parlor has no windows but you don’t need that to appreciate the nice tea and tea set and the delicious finger sandwiches and cakes (especially like the sandwiches). Also you get treated like a guest, and not a customer. Great to have a relaxed chat with a friend while avoiding the crowds and the noise.

I bought 5 pieces of cake to bring back with me to Paris and eat the next day with coworkers. Great care was put to the packaging, the cake was still perfectly intact when opening the boxes, despite having to walk around with them for the whole day, plus the trip back on the next day. Moreover, I tasted a piece of each cake they were all delicious ! I'll make sure to come back next time I am in London - right after I visit the British Museum :).

Good location, scones and sandwiches were pretty good... but I found it really annoying that they brewed the tea behind the scenes and came out with a pot of already brewed tea- which means we couldn’t get a top up on our tea and there just wasn’t enough to go with our sandwiches and quite small scones. It was a delight to be here. On our 3rd day in London, my husband and I wanted to try some English tea after the museum tour. We found this little gem! Thank you, owner! You kindly let us in when you were about to close the shop.

Great place for tea, scones, and snacks. Conveniently located right across from the British Museum, it was a nice way to break up the tour of the museum. They were very responsive to an email for a reservation request. The scones were especially delicious!

(Translated) Have a light meal before seeing the Phantom of the Opera at the Her Majesty's Theater. Go down to the first basement floor of the bookstore. There are about 3 groups including me in the store at 5 pm. I made a reservation from the website, but it seems to be okay without a reservation because there are many seats. Scones are served with cream and jam (strawberry and raspberry) applied. A moist but not heavy scone. The Victoria cake I ate for the first time was not whipped cream, but sugar butter cream that left a rough feeling of sugar. I like this because of its exquisite taste. Homemade lemonade comes with the service. It's delicious, but it's a bit spicy in London in January. The amount of candela and litz on the previous day was too large and I had to take it home, but here it is the amount that even one person can eat. The chubby and cute female clerk was very kind and talked to me several times and told me the recommended menu. I want to go here as well.
