Reviews of The Parlour Herne Hill

What is not to love of a place that champions the kind,
a place of hope for those who mind.
Buy a coffee and leave it on the wall on a post it signed,
someone will thank you later when the coffee they find.
A lovely lady will make you feel at home,
and the coffee is as good as if you were in Rome,
Or maybe if you are strolling down the street in Frome.
It’s a place I would just say you have to come!

Our dog loves this place and so do we, perfect cafe for an afternoon cake and tea after a walk in the park!

My absolute favourite café to grab a fantastic coffee and a slice of something perfect to feed that sweet tooth. But also great healthy options for those days where only a smoothie can rescue you from those Herne Hill Hangovers. The ladies who work there never fail to put a smile on my face! Well done and keep it up!

Great coffee and tasty Nutella and banana bread/cake! Many options for vegans if you happen to be one! Mostly healthy options available! I also tried their Hulk smoothly!! What a treat! Not very sweet but just sweet enough!!! Definitely one of the best I’ve had! Staff were friendly! Would recommend!

I am a Herne Hill local, and have been a regular at The Parlour for two years now! It is a lovely cafe with a very unique menu for the area. It has always been my first choice for delicious, fresh and healthy food - I love the Buddha Bowls and hearty stews which change every day. They also have a great breakfast menu, impressive range of coffees/smoothies etc, and delicious home-made cakes! It's a great place to go for brunch with friends on the weekend, and nice and calm spot to work or relax with a coffee during the week.
I also run a training business locally, and use the Parlour as my caterer - the service has always been very professional and high-quality, delivered on time and always delicious - my clients have been consistently impressed by the service and diverse and creative menu.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough! Thanks Parlour Team - keep up the good work!

This is my favourite local cafe! I spend a lot of time here, either working on my laptop (it's a freelance friendly spot), stopping off for coffee after a walk in the park or meeting friends for brunch. The food is fantastic - nothing beats the French toast - and the Buddha bowls are a great idea. There are loads of vegan and gluten-free options, and I love the fact you can create your own smoothie. Lovely staff and owner. Couldn't ask for a nicer little gem.

Lovely cafe with great salads and drinks and dog friendly. The rotation of home made cakes and snacks are also really tasty. The book club is great fun, a very friendly local spot.

Had a lovely lunch here, service was excellent.

Food and drinks are good, quite pricey for the portion sizes. My main complaint is my clothes now smell like grease. I have been before and it was less "greasy" and very pleasant, everyone has a bad day now and then I guess... There is a friendly atmosphere, boardgames and books. I would go again, to give it a fair chance.

The palour is great. Nice coffee, friendly service and some of the best eggs in Herne hill. Dog friendly too if you've got a furry friend. Can get busy though and it's not very big so it's possible that you might not always be able to get a space.

Literally, Parlour is the best café in London, maybe even the world.
I work in Herne Hill most days, and come here every morning for my coffee and pastry, every lunch for some amazing freshly made food, and sometimes even back again in the afternoon for a cake (sue me)!
The food is always delicious, and there’s a different stew made every day, always a winner (would particular recommend for the mushroom strog). Would also recommend any of the items on their food menu, as well as their smoothies (and if u don’t like the one on the menu you can make ur own).
Also, the staff are the literally the nicest bunch of people. Always up for a chat, always super speedy with your order, and their banter is almost as good as the mushroom strog!
Last but not least, there’s usually some kinda cute dog or baby to say hello to as well, so that’s a real bonus.
Oh and they play some slamming tunez too!
5/5, fav café in the area, make it ur local, can’t recommend enough (going off my phone now so I can finish my strog lol).

Lovely café with great coffee and a really friendly atmosphere. Great cakes/lunches and there are usually lots of "free-from" options - definitely recommend!

My favourite place in SE London! The friendliest staff, tastiest brunch and fab coffee! Especially love it as is dog friendly, me and my large breed dog Willis are welcomed in warmly with beautiful Coffees for me and dog treats & refreshments for him! (He's a bit smitten with Lippy, the owners dog too!) can highly recommend the parlour eggs for lunch and the Hulk smoothie (especially if you are feeling slightly worse for wear!) is an absolute must if you are dog walking across the road at Brockwell Park! Please don't ever change Parlour!!! Me and Willis adore you!

Great local cafe. Friendly staff and owner who very kindly made a special wrap for my daughter to eat when we went there for lunch. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with big windows overlooking Brockwell Park- perfect to enjoy a cup of tea and some delicious cake.

The most enjoyable experience I've had first thing in the morning. Staff were more than happy to help, and couldn't have gone more above and beyond to ensure a pleasant and memorable experience. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who values a delicious coffee with tasteful decor. Thank you, I will definitely be in again soon! All the best
P. A.
If you have a furry friend then this cafe is dog friendly, not that I want to be sitting around dogs and eating . The service is friendly coffee, the only down side when it starts getting busy the service tends to suffer a bit and it’s quiet small so you cannot always get a place to sit.

The Parlour is a lovely independent café, serving delicious homemade food and drinks. Having been there a dozen times, the staff are always friendly and smiley, and the food and drinks are extremely well made (especially the hulk smoothie!). If you're in the area, make sure to pop in!
E. H.
A local gem! Great coffee from a friendly, chilled independent, just what Herne Hill needs. Great homemade food and even some toys to keep the kids entertained while I can read the paper and drink my flat white. Thanks and see you soon.

We love the parlour! I have a three month old baby and two dogs and its a favourite for us all! The dogs are always given treats and water, it's a stone's throw from the park so great pre or post walk, space for buggies/ to change your baby and great coffee/ smoothies/ food for me. Oh and a fab playlist. Have been almost everyday since we discovered it. Thank you Caroline and Chanel for always taking such great care of us!
S. M.
A lovely friendly (to dogs as well!) independent cafe overlooking Brockwell Park. Good coffee, cake and smoothies, the food menu has been extended and improved since they opened and there are some good healthy options.
O. M.
The Parlour is a lovely cafe looking out onto Brockwell park. It has a wide variety of hot and cold foods and lots of healthy options as well as some delicious homemade cakes and pastries (I'd recommend the banana cake). Their coffee is amazing and they're dog friendgly! Would definitely recommend.
E. H.
Lovely staff, didn't mind me popping in mid cycle ride to hydrate with some much needed cucumber water, I felt like a new man! Even stayed to try a cake. Will definitely take my girlfriend there next time we are walking around the park.
J. F.
great atmosphere, very airy, overlooking Brockwell Park. We ordered an Iced Tea and ended up having to wait about 10 minutes, which was frustrating, however would probably still go back for the ambience. Good coffee and breakfast
L. B.
A brilliant local cafe with a wide range of drinks and food. Staff were incredibly friendly and the berry smoothy was one of the best I've had. A brilliant place to relax and chill out after a long week.
M. R.
I've been to The Parlour several times for lunch - it's a lovely independent café with great food and friendly staff. They often have some fab music playing too! I'd definitely recommend!
J. C.
Visited recently and I was massively impressed. Amazing staff and owner, wide selection of homemade food and delicious coffee. The place was immaculate and super dog friendly.

Today I was unexpectedly stopped traveling after my peddle came off bike, . I’m not glad I did, THE PARLOUR is a lovely little eatery across from the brick well park, chicken Cesar wrap was yummy , and the banana loaf more yummy., perfectly moist . Mmm mmm mmm ! Definitely eating here again .
M. S.
Simple and delicious food.... Gluten and Dairy free options and coffee to get you through the day.
....and you can bring your puppy dog!
S. A.
Lovely cafe with friendly staff, delicious coffee and laudably dog friendly. (The owner has a beautiful husky). Seems to be becoming a real community hub in Herne Hill.
J. G.
I love local coffee shops that not only focus on good coffee but on making deliciously healthy food with fresh ingredients and a touch of flair.
The menu offers yummy brunch foods like the Croque Madame made with prosciutto, cheese, and a fried egg on top of organic sourdough bread; French Toast made with yoghurt and berries; omelettes, eggy bread, avocado toast, and lighter version of their egg dishes.
They also have take-away options like wraps and sandwiches, as well as sweet and hearty pastries to go with their great coffee. Might I suggest their Latte Machiato with Coconut Milk? It's amazeballs.
If all that sounds too heavy for you, they're also cranking out power-packed smoothies and juices with supercharged add-ons like hemp protein, spirulina, and baobab. You can even build your own smoothie.
My favorite concoction is a mixture of almond or coconut milk, banana, a shot of coffee, cashew nuts, hemp protein, and baobab, which is a nutty root high in Vitamin C and calcium. Heck you can add peanut butter to it and be good for the day.
It's quiet, local, perfect for getting a bit of work done, and enjoying a healthy meal. Certainly better than the alternatives.

Homely small cafe, now accepting card payment. Popular with passing families..hence buggies and gurgling babies..on the untidy side of a proper cafe, bit noisy the one time I visited, very small choice of food. Run by a young crowd.
K. R.
Nice coffee and friendly service. They have a good range of healthy snacks for kids and you can even rent a blanket and basket to take a picnic to Brockwell park across the road!
J. d.
Quirky little café. Good juices and okay coffee. The interior is comfortable but it lacks atmosphere in my opinion.
J. T.

(Translated) We looked for a real place for a typical English brunch and we nailed it. Healthy, cozy and well-priced restaurant.
If you're in the area, it's worth it ... and if you're not there ... too!
(Original)
Buscàvem un lloc autèntic per a un brunch típic anglès i la vam clavar. Menjar sa, local acollidor i bé de preu.
Si sou per la zona, val la pena... i si no hi sou... també!
