Reviews of The Physic Garden Café
N. B.
Great little spot for a light lunch or coffee/tea.
C. B.
Good food, just took an appetizer and salad. Wait to get served was long unfortunately.

Amazing botanical garden just discovered following a friend's recommendation. An oasis in the middle of London! The café is a hidden gem with friendly staff, the man in the jacket was very attentive. Beautifully cooked food, (loved the scallops and the lemon tart). There is also a cute little shop by the exit.

We received a warm welcome from the staff on duty.....A very hot day.
The Cafe is pleasant but can be expensive
Service charge is included and not optional. No cash accepted either.
A permanent gazebo has been erected otherwise tables, chairs and parasols outside.

Lovely menu with great tasting food and good service. Fab views of the garden. Relaxing and feel good place

Lovely food but table service was unfortunately slow today. Still when we did get service & an apology for the wait, we enjoyed our food in a lovely outdoor setting. The fact it was sunny was a bonus.

Enjoyed my time at the Garden Cafe. Was sat outside, distanced from other tables. Our table was cleaned before we sat down. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. We had two delicious meals, a Caesar salad and the aubergine curry. Will come back again!

a secret haven for Chelsea locals - pleasant place to have a coffee, relax or read a book during the afternoons - superb variety of plants and trees - well looked after - must visit if you are ever in the area - thank you to all the hard working gardeners

The food was good and it is a lovely location but the service was very ordinary. One fellow wound up half way through their lunch getting up and getting his own drinks! They also sat everyone without a booking (which was most people!) outside or at share tables that aren't quite big enough to be share tables which wound up making the whole experience quite awkward. The supposedly reserved tables were never used while I was there which made it more annoying.

Lovely spot right there in the Physic Garden, with indoor and outdoor seating (plus a space that's kinda both, in a marquee). Good menu; I tried the fish pie and it was EXCELLENT, though perhaps prices were just a little high. I read some of the reviews that talked about surly staff but I didn't encounter anyone like that and I interacted with three or four people. I'd say give it a go.

What a lovely cafe, the staff are really pleasantly helpful and the setting is so beautiful, I go every week that I can. The prices are reasonable for this area.

Brilliant food and great service

Fascinating and perhaps often overlooked destination in London. The gardens have an incredible history as well as being a beautiful place. The tours are very informative and the gardens have lots of educational information. There is very nice (moderately pricey) cafe inside for lunch.

What a great restaurant and a hidden gem! The cuisine is very, very good. My rack of lamb was exquisite and cooked to perfection. My fellow diners equally enjoyed roast duck confit and also the salmon en croute. The atmosphere is delightfully casual to the point of being almost scatty but everything works well. You have to go inside the building to order from wall boards and then return outside (covered) to your table while your food is bright to you. Probably best to book in advance.
Just a note about the location: on Google Maps the location is shown accurately but access is via the entrance to the Physic Garden on Swan Walk. Note also that you have to pay for entrance to the Garden just to get to the restaurant. Best to consider that as a bonus incentive to get you to actually walk round the beautiful gardens before or after your meal.

Very nice place and food and service overall good, and not overpriced.

Nice cafe in the Chelsea Physic Garden, good range of drinks, eats etc. Great place to sit with a coffee after a wander round the gardens, which are lovely. Haven't tried the lunches but the food coming out did look very good. Overall well worth a visit, nice little shop as well.

Love the setting, good value quality food and good wine and beer options. The slight amateur aspects add to the experience. Unique and one of my favourites. Kids need to behave.

A very nice place to go situated in the physic garden. No main course was vegetarian on the day I was there. 2 large spoonsfull of vegetable salad was 9 pounds. It was delicious but surely overpriced? Lovely surroundings.

This is a lovely place to be on a sunny afternoon. You do need to pay to get into the Chelsea Physic Garden first (and very nice it is too). Once in, the food is good and imaginative, the ambiance relaxed and comfortable.

Okay salads but not worth the price
V. B.
Lovely setting and good food (if rather expensive now)

The cakes are amazing and very friendly service in the iconic and historical gardens

Great game pie. It is a small cafe and really hard to get a seat on weekend.
S. M.
Lovely cafe in a really peaceful garden setting.
C. L.
Slow service with unhelpful staff. Shame as the garden is lovely and worth visiting.
T. W.
Friendly service. Great to grab a quick bite and a nice cuppa coffee after walking around the garden!
C. T.
Some very good food and excellent Gin and Tonic. Good service from staff at the recently upgraded now table service restaurant that is fitting for London's hidden gem, the Physic Garden.
M. A.
Gardens are stunning and guides know their stuff. Worth it👍

You just have to visit this place. It is sooooooo relaxing and great coffee if you are inclined or need a jazz up after all the relaxation, a very peaceful, restful, garden with spots where you can just hide away and not be bothered.
S. G.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and reasonable prices. There are times when they close for special events so it's worth checking out before you visit.

As much as I love to come to the Chelsea Physic Garden, the main reason why I come is to eat at the Tangerine Dream Cafe. The food is beyond divine with the salmon pie, greens and deserts to make anyone ignore any diets--mind you all healthy and freshly made deserts. The high tea, in case you haven't the time for a meal, is not to be missed.
A. A.
Knowledge was extensive but not encompassing of all plants. Food and service at the cafe and shop was superb. Staff very dedicated and short handed
V. C.
Went for lunch with great selection and very high quality food and service.
S. O.
An interesting place to visit, they have a lot of plants and different vegetables. It looks a bit outdated, otherwise if it's a nice day outside it's worth visiting.
s. m.
Now it's got table service, beautiful location, good food and wine. Would love a private party here.

Was quite slow being served and it wasn't that busy... £14 for a sandwich was steep (to me) and couldn't work out what warranted that price.
S. W.
Botanic garden cafe with a covered terrace, serving homemade light lunches, cakes and afternoon tea.

Lovely. Excellent food. Couldn't ask for a better setting of course. Little oasis in Chelsea
