Reviews of The Round - Peckham Rye
P. A.
Family friendly, children friendly, dog friendly place with a great view over the Peckham Rye Park
E.
The place looks so much better after the refurbishment. I think that the new management is really doing a good job!! The menu is very good ( a bit overpriced for a coffee shop ) but the food is delicious! Hope they will still rearrange the outside area since that’s the best part!

Bought 2 kids meals and a pizza. The kids meals were good but no way was the pizza worth £10.95. Thin, tasteless and overpriced. Also the staff were miserable. Just OK.

An oasis in all weathers that provides excellent coffee and decent snacks. A little bit pricey but probably the norm for London. Plenty of outdoor seating but a bit restricted indoors.

Great Service, Great Food, Great People, a full restaurant with alcohol & food is available here. You can get many buses inc the 12 or 484, the 78 or P12 & the nearest Railway Station is Peckham Rye, turn right as you leave cover of the station & walk.

The location is brilliant and service used to be fine if a bit slow, but recently (writing this June 2021) I'm finding more often that the staff get orders wrong and can be really rude when trying to get service. It's such a shame because the coffee is decent and it would be great to have a nice place to go in the park but this is expensive for such unreliable service.

Absolutely fine but everything somehow tastes not as nice as the Dulwich park cafe, even though it's run by the same company and has the same menu 🤷🏻♀️

I love the coffee in this cafe. I drink mine black and it's impossible to hide a badly made Americans. I've probably been here 10 times since the change in ownership and I have been constantly impressed. The staff are also very nice despite the cafe often being very busy. Thank you for providing a great service.

No problem at all apart from it’s quite rightly a popular place and can get busy. Great coffee, tasty cakes and friendly staff. I haven’t tried the menu proper but from what I can see from other customers the food looks tasty and plentiful. Dog friendly too, which suits me.

Lovely cafe. So much nicer than the one that used to be here. Staff are friendlier, and although it's the same building it seems so much more spacious, they've not tried to cram in as many tables (ie punters) as possible like the previous establishment.

Nice cafe, great service. Had a chicken Thai soup and a brownie and it was super tasty. Nice environment really recommend to come in especially if you have kids.Laura was really friendly and always checking if we needed anything.

Really like this place .very handy to have this type of cafe by the local playground. It's been refurbished and looking very cozy. The food/drink range is wide.what I dislike it's a little pricey. Always happy to come back tho 😁

Nice fair sized leisurely park. Lots of families and young kids. Well used over Covid. Liked the park Cafe. Sausage and egg baps, yum and great coffee.

The staff were friendly and extremely kind, I didnt realise they didnt accept cash and had my 2 year old niece with me, the lady said I could still have a baby chino for her!!!! What a gem. My niece then started to cry for the muffin she had already picked out, another kind member of staff gave her a treat from her own pocket and settled my niece who was about to go full on tantrum mode, really nice place and the best staff :) thank you so much x

The place to catch some food if you're in Peckham Rye Park. Touch on the pricey side for some items but not enough to prevent you going.

Well located for coffee and a (vegan) sausage roll. Always so busy though so they might want to think about having more people to help on a weekend.

Had the hot chocolate which was overly sweet and lukewarm at best. Not great. Nice people but product could be better

Totally refurbished (August 2018), and so much nicer than it was. A bright airy dining area, and a fantastic selection of food options - everything from healthy smoothies & cooked breakfasts to pizzas, burgers and salads for lunch. Highly recommended.

I visited this restaurant on Saturday morning and it was busy, which is always a good sign .
I ordered a cappuccino And vegetarian breakfast which was tasty and satisfying. The service was quick and thought the staff were friendly and polite .would consider eating thire again and recommend to friends and family .

Thorougly exploiting its monopoly.
The Round occupies a prime chunk of real estate in the centre of Peckham Rye common. Directly adjacent to the new playground where what must be hundreds of kids must play everyday, it is hundreds of metres away from the nearest competion. It has a captive audience.
So it's not entirely unexpected that they charge a signficant premium for their fare. However, the daily operation of the place seems perplexingly lazy. They always seem to be out of at least one thing. The front of house staff don't care, but then again they seem to be teenagers so maybe that's to be expected.
To be fair to management, the recent refurbishment has established a well appointed facility and the menu is attractive on paper. So I applaud the vision, I just wish it was better done (and of course cheaper).

Lovely cafe in the middle of peckham rye. They're operating a limited menu from the ice creams window with social distancing. Employees are all wearing masks too.
M. B.
Lush, freshly prepared, good food great place for family and friends 😊
S. P.
Good place to bring the kids for a late breakfast. ***TIP*** the £3 kids scrambled eggs and beans on toast is the same size as the adult portion. Coffee is good.
A. B.
Tasty fresh food. Slightly limited for non-dairy or vegan options but otherwise great, very child-friendly.
D. O.
Nice coffee and pastries but loud and crawling with kids. Cheesy music. Table was filthy too.
