Reviews of The Teapot Forest Hill

Friendly local service and much improved menu. Try the delicious cappuccino with coconut milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Another good option is the Greek salad.
Fabulous place for meeting family and friends.
A. J.
Lovely coffee house. Unique interior.
Peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff.
Chocolate orange cake is highly recommended
A. O.
Very nice and cozy spot right in the heart of Forest Hill. Nice interior, friendly stuff and a great menu with many nice brunch options.

Amazing coffee! Amazing day…
Thank you guys for always providing quality coffee. Very friendly staff…. Everything in teapot makes the day perfect 💕
R.
Thoroughly enjoyed a delicious pannini and loose leaf tea. Great ambiance and top notch service. Would definitely make it my regular if I lived closer!
A. S.
We stepped here for a Coffee and Cake break and it was a very rich and tasty experience. The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing. The cakes (coffee & almond 🥧 and red velvet 🍰) were very tasty, so their Cappuccino and Americano ☕. Their staff is friendly and helpful too. Would've definitely given 5 stars if the serving was fast. It could've been lot quicker. However, I recommend The Teapot for you Coffee lovers. Thank you 👍
K. G.
Highly recommend The Teapot. Warm friendly welcoming service and great food. Best Eggs Benedict and avocado on toast in the area.
J. L.
Nice place. I cracked a joke with a member of staff but it did not go down well. The café is an established part of Forest Hill. Long may it continue.
D.
Great little cafe and eatery, attentive and efficient staff and surprisingly calm inside despite being located on the ever busy London Road. I can never leave without buying some of that cannoli by the till 😬
D. W.
Amazing cafe, delicious food and drinks, lovely staff and cute décor. Little gem in the middle of Forest Hill. Would definitely recommend.
V. F.
A lovely local tearoom, run by a very organised owner with excellent staff. The service is excellent and the simple and uncomplicated. Lovely fresh cakes and sandwiches.
R. M.
This is the coffee shop in South London. Italian owned by charming people. Great coffee wonderful panine snacks with salad and mouthwatering Italian pastries. All the better because surrounded by awful chicken takeaways and situated in (shall we say) somewhat challenging Forest Hill. I'm fond of Forest Hill but Mayfair it ain't.
S. W.
One of my favourite coffee shops in Forest Hill, they have a fantastic selection of smoothies and milkshakes and for non-coffee drinkers like myself. 2nd time visited during lockdown for takeaway to get a drink and it was so nice! Quick, friendly service.
I can't wait to try their brunch and breakfast menu and one day eat in as the coffee shop has light and airy welcoming vibes. Worth the visit rather than going to Costa!
L. H.
Their coconut iced lattes are the best! Very friendly staff and have been a highlight during lockdown.
Such a good variety of cakes as well.
S. B.
Great service and they also cater well for the GF and VG crowd.
O. M.
Lovely coffee place. Friendly and polite. I will visit again.
L. S. J.
WOW! This is one of the most welcoming coffee - Tea shop I have been to for a long time. If you are in the area step in and give it a try.
a. m.
Really good. Nice vibe. Would be good to be able to get your own tap water.
A. H.
Very pleasant cafe, good menu, comfortable surroundings, friendly service.
T. G.
Very friendly staff, good coffee, wide array of paninis made fresh (highly praised by my colleagues). Homemade pies, pastries and treats. I had a fantastic homemade minced beef and tomato pie/pastry. Happened upon it on my way through so unfortunately I can't make it a regular but highly recommended!
i. W.
Had a great 'Greek' ciabatta and ice coffee. A lovely atmosphere when eating in. Attentive and friendly service.
D. B.
Lovely, super friendly staff and the best chai latte ever!
Also have lovely cakes and sandwiches.
I definitely recommend it!
J. M.
Nice staff and good coffee, also nice atmosphere. Waiting staff are not nagging to get more stuff like some others nearby... It is always nice to get back there. They have interesting products to sell, like genuine Canadian maple syrup.
M. W.
We had an excellent breakfast at The Teapot. Eggs and Avocado, smoothies and great coffee.
It’s a real gem of a cafe with lovely staff. Another great cafe for Forest Hill.
E. A.
Really liked this coffee shop. We thought the food was really nice for the price with really good quality coffee and very friendly staff. Has a real cosiness to it as well and a nicely done interior. Would happily recommend.

I went to The Teapot Forest Hill today as I had been told that it was a nice coffee shop to go and relax. In fact, it had many good reviews on Google so I decided to give it a go. It was my day off today so I also thought it'd be nice to treat myself to a nice breakfast and enjoy the atmosphere, however, the whole experience ended up being a little bit disappointing.
I arrived early in the morning and the coffee shop was pretty full. I asked for a table. The barista told me I had to wait about 10 minutes, which I did. I mean, I was not in a hurry so I did not mind. Less than 10 minutes later, a woman left and the barista offered me her place. This tiny space was next to the main door, in front of the window, and with a very tall stool as the only option for me. This was the first letdown of the day as I specifically requested a table so I could work on my laptop while I was having my breakfast. The worst thing was that so many people came after me and they were offered a table when I was told by the barista that they would all be very busy for a while.
After this incident, I stopped insisting on the table because I knew they were not going to offer me one. I am starting to get used to it now to be honest because I tend to go to many places by myself–including coffee shops and restaurants–so they will always give me the tiniest space so they do not end up wasting an entire table on just one person.
Then, I asked whether they had any WIFI. It did not work and if you were to join a specific network you had to pay for it. Seriously? What kind of coffee shop (with WIFI) is this one? The whole point of me going to work to a coffee shop today was in order for me to leave my place for a while and take some fresh air and enjoy a different environment but this did not work.
Finally, getting served took ages because I noticed that they only focus on pleasing people and filling in the place but they don't really take care of their patrons in the first place. I felt that I was being judged by the baristas since the moment I first entered the establishment. When I asked the girl for a hot chocolate and a scone she looked at me with a clueless expression in her face and said, "umm okay?" Then, she brought my breakfast and she event forgot the cutlery ^^'. Finally, there was no hand sanitiser available or at least that I could see right away once I went inside.
In summary, a total disaster. Something that seemed to be promising and I was looking forward to doing ended up being a completely disappointing and upsetting experience. At least, the only good thing I can say is that, even when my morning was kinda ruined for a moment and I did not get any work done, the hot chocolate was nice and also cheap.
So, yeah… Not the most pleasing experience I've ever had. I do not usually post any reviews in here. In fact, I am probably the easiest person on earth to please. I am not picky at all and I tend to be happy and give a chance to pretty much every situation but I definitely feel like I had to say something in here because I was not comfortable with what happened.
Perhaps, it was just an isolated event and it was just bad luck but even so I don't think I will be back. I'll probably stick to places that I know because sometimes having high expectations on new places can be very disappointing.

Lovely owner operated establishment, I think? Have fun trying to find something that's not absolutely lovely. It's a tough job! Their home-made minced beef and tomato flatbread tart is dangerously good. In summary, don't hesitate to pay this place a visit. Great value for money.

Absolutely heavenly! Had breakfast here while staying in South London on holiday from Seattle. We ate Moroccan lamb pie, steak pie, earl grey lemon cake, salted caramel cake, with tea and coffee. I found everything to be of superb quality and perfectly baked. Moroccan lamb pie had chick peas inside and sweet and spicy gravy inside with a hint of cinnamon, the lamb was not over powered by the spices and was tender. Both cakes were just, not overt or under baked, not overly sweet, all the flavors come across well. Salted caramel cake was crispy caramelized around the edge, like a corner brownie. The icing was a rich cream cheese, sweet and salty. The earl grey cake was fantastic, zesty, tart, and just a little sweet, with just the right amount of floral and tea flavor. This had a light and lemony glaze on top. Had Americano black coffee, strongly brewed and generously portioned. Highly recommend after only one visit, I wish I would have gone more on my trip, but didn't give it a chance until the day before I departed.

Best coffee and paninis in Forest Hill
K. L.
Best coffee in town + excellent chatter with the teapot dream team.
И. Ф.
Amazing place. Nice atmosphere, relaxing music. Kids friendly. Very attentive staff. And enormous portions. Great place to have hearty meal. Highly recommend.
M. D.
Can't recommand enough. Their coffee is amazing! It's actually hard to find a cup of a good dark roasted coffee nowadays and they have it. Their Pastel de natas are delicious. The Halloumi & rosted veg panini is brilliant. Well deserved 5 stars :D
T. R.
Lovely local cafe. Great sandwiches, soups cakes. Delicious coffee. Good for littluns with high chairs and baby change and the staff are really friendly and patient with kids too. Can't fault it.
C. D.
Great café!
I have never reviewed a cafe but thought the Teapot deserved a 5 star rating.
Food was delicious and honestly priced. Staff were very friendly! I will definitely return :-)
H. S.
Lovely little coffee shop. Fresh made and tasty produce available to eat in or take away. The Panini's, potatoes and salads are all great mixes of fresh meats and cheese - classic combinations with quality ingredients served promptly in a calm and relaxing classy cafe. The for those of you with a sweet tooth you simply cannot (and should not!) walk past the delicious window display of melt in the mouth cakes, muffins and treats.
N. B.
Excellent coffee & sublime pistachio cannoli
C. B.
An excellent little cafe. Very nice staff. Great food and drinks offer. Highly recommended
C.
Best staff. Great coffee. Decent prices and good atmosphere.

What a nice addition to the area. You don't really notice the new addition and changes to Forest Hill when you drive through so it is nice to go for a toddle around and see what there is.
I went here on a Saturday morning with the bestie in search for a place to have good food and a long catch up. This place delivered. We has breakfast, two hot drinks and apple just and the bill came to under £14 - cannot complain as the food was delicious and substantial. You are left in peace to either sit with the paper or catch up over coffee. Great addition to the ever enhancing Forest Hill
R. B.
Delicious drinks and food - the iced latte was one of the best I've had.
C. G.
Good food at reasonable prices. Even bought in some gluten free bread especially for me and didn't charge me extra. Service and coffee also very good.
h. j.
Coffee is lovely and service is always great. They even know my coffee order even though I don't go every day!
G. M.
Great place and great breakfast 😁😊
R. B.
good snacks and good service.
As is often the case for small establishments the drawback is that you need to use stairs to get to the seating.
But the food is good and as you'd expect the teapots are a proper size.
C. H.
Love popping in here for a morning coffee. Had cosy welcoming vibes and always friendly service
T. R.
Go visit & enjoy freshly prepared food. Owner & staff very keen to satisfy customers. Lunch or snacks all generously portioned. You will leave feeling well restored!😄
M. M.
Lovely Italian coffee and pastries. Serve Almond Milk which is the only coffee shop in forest hill which does!
L. H.
Great coffee and tea. Good food too. Staff are always friendly and cheerful. This is always my go to when I’m in the area.
J. M.
Omar, I understand from the owner of the Tea Pot you were there for three hours, used their socket for your laptop (no charge for using it), sat on your own at a table for four so you could use the socket and spent £9.50. All of this time whilst the place was busy. It is not a business centre. The owners is quite happy for people to use laptops etc but not as a cheap office.
I am a responding to this review as a regular user of the Tea Pot who really enjoys the place because it DOESNT have WiFi. If you want a cheap office use one, if you want a good coffee and food then this is for you.
T. M.
Good for a quick coffee or a longer lunch. It's a nice relaxing space to spend some time, but bring the paper or a book as there's no accessible wifi if you were planning to work.
J. W.
Lovely little café delicious home cooked food
Y. x.
Found the chicken panani a bit bland...Thought it be more flavoursome...service was a bit slow. But the cafes interior was lovely and clean..you could tell they use fresh ingredients. I would go back again..but not for the chicken panani. 😋
E. J.

A decidedly average tea shop. Food is OK. Service takes a while and rather steeply priced, but OK for the area...when there's not much choice...
