Reviews of Vagabond N7
O. L.
Very nice cafe. Very nice and friendly staffs. Beautifully made coffee. Nice baked cakes. Has a very rustic relaxing atmosphere here.
S. A.
Happily surprised at the quality as well as quantity of our breakfasts this morning . The Vagabond full breakfast and Tricolour.
We were there about 9:20 and plenty of seats.
If sitting outside I would consider taking something to sit on in case the wood is damp
Very friendly staff.
Shame we don't live closer
D. L.
Great coffee shop, had a lovely egg and bacon bap, friendly staff and good decor.
N. S.
I love their flat white and ginger cake especially. Came there for my morning caffeine intake.
O. H.
What a great unexpected surprise this was!
We were just walking past and thought we'd pop in.
Delicious coffee, great food with huge portions, and super lovely staff.
Feeling hungry? Go!
A. T.
Cute local cafe that serves amazing coffee and great bits to eat. The egg mayo and bacon is simply decadent
M. H.
Brunch is nice and price is definitely worth the portions! The indoor area is just a bit dark and gloomy next to a big mess in the back…
J. U.
Best capuccino (and coffee in general) in London by far. And I have been to more than 30 local coffee places.
Food is very good, all natural, but coffee is on another level.
N. K.
Great slightly hipster coffee joint serving delicious coffee on Holloway road. City garden growing fresh produce at back. Serves hot meals as well as light bites.
T. v. R.
Great place for breakfast, good coffee, big and tasty breakfast portions. Spacious including in the back. Recommend it
E. H.
The tasty English breakfast I've had for a while. Not the cheapest at £8.90, but good quality ingredients and a nice twist with the refried beans 😊👍 The coffee is great too and the staff are friendly. Good spot to sit and read too.
G.
Unexpectedly yum ! Order special of the day : sausage omelette & flat white which was £10.7 - good valued !
D. S.
Local Gem! Lovely cafe, fantastic friendly staff. Smiley smart looking barista, especially the lady. Amazing food, amazing coffee. Spot on! Would definitely come back!
A. C.
Dimly-lit industrial vibe. They offer oat and almond milk. The staff are a bit rushed around and short but the coffee is nice and smooth compared to a lot of places that taste acidic and burnt.
L. L.
Great espresso pull and a really nice flat white early in the morning. Garden out back relaxing place. Coffee was on point. Have to come back for beans.
M. H.
Warm and friendly cafe, delicious food, generous portions. I visited with group of seven adults plus a baby. We were warmly welcomed and well looked after by the staff. All the breakfast/brunch meals, coffee, tea and cake were prepared with care and reasonably priced. Very highly recommended - I’ll be visiting again.
R. M.
Great coffee, great food and nice chilled atmosphere
M. P.
I could come here every weekend
A. G.
They roast at the back, huge spacious place even a small garden area outback. Rustic deco and a friendly service. One of the best places for coffee in the area
M. L.
I got an Oat latte and it was smooth and tasty and the sun started shining more as I was drinking it 😋.
Highly recommend. Good spot to chill out, enjoy a drink, a cake, a sandwich and friendly human beings behind the counter. Give the barista a raise!
S. X.
Just a really good breakfast. There make good coffee, serve good food, and the place feels friendly and relaxed.
Excellent. Perfect way to start any day.
m. g.
Good balanced coffee. The type of coffee you can drink 3-4 daily. It is not floral like they say but it is fine and a good quality. Staff is polite and tge space looks nice.
A. G.
Lovely cosy place with nice staff and specially amazing food! The tricolore breakfast was very very good. Lots of food and very tasty. Not the cheapest place but still good if you want a nice and healthy meal.
L. I.
Great hot drinks, excellent desserts, and a food menu that's looks good but I didn't get a chance to try. A nice place to come and sit down with a coffee and some quiet time, or work on your laptop (wifi is amazing!). However not many seating options with a back rest, and I became cold quite quickly.
J. G.
Fave place in Islington. Good quality coffee and amazing food! Really fair priced for the amount of food you get compared to other specialty coffee/brunch spots. Loads of seating. Table service. Good wifi, not many outlets. The most adorable beaten up garden in the back, amazing to have a smoke (or fresh air) and kick back with your coffee and read. They loaded it with plants so although the garden furniture is mitch-matched it's beautiful and quirky.
I love when I have to pet-sit in Islington just so I can come here!
D. N.
Beautiful back garden for the sunny summer days! Food is good too, large portions but a little too oily for my taste...
D. L.
Due to my two weeks coffee adventures
I would say it’s the best coffee in London!!!
friendly stuffs, yum and health breakfast and great coffee for sure~~~~ I love so much this independent Roasted coffee shop, very comfy and lovely place, I must come a visit again one day (Hello from Taiwan)
I bought some bean back to Taiwan , now I still enjoy the coffee 😁
A. F.
Coffee is good, and enjoyed the breakfast, Ginger cake is beautiful, they use fresh ginger to make it.
F. P.
Sister and brother in London! They wanted a proper English brunch! Here they had it! Perfect location, quite and nice environment, great food!! Recommended!!!
A. C.
Really nice coffee and hot chocolate!
L. S.
Amazing coffee stop - friendly staff, fun decor and larger than you realise inside. The is also a garden round the back, with decent wooden benches and it's cool to be surrounded by foliage.
The coffee I had was nice and my friends juice was super fresh and smelled good.
I. L.
Nice café. Had a turmeric oat latte and a vegan avocado toast and both were delicious.
N. H.
A family and dog friendly cafe, serving all sorts of omelettes and english breakfast. Worth eating if local.
C. C.
My favourite coffee shop in London. Beautiful coffee, passionate baristas, delicious smell of coffee roasting coming through from the back, reasonably priced food for the quality.
Great place to work from. Lovely garden and awesome building
a. l.
Great coffee, nice breakfast!no regret coming here
S. P.
A pretty cool / "trendy" place. Has a very cute outside bit. The inside is nice enough too. A great place to study if you are a student, a nice place to go have a coffee. Recommended.
Y. O.
Love this coffee shop for real artisan coffee, rich deserts, cozy yard, and very simplistic design out of wood. Enjoy sitting here at the window and get some work done on my laptop.
m. l.
Overall a really cozy place to meet up with friends or just to get work done. Coffee is brilliant. Pastries could be better but I’d still recommend this place!
H.
Coffee and food are both very good. The cafe has a cool decor and is normally filled with interesting people. Slightly on the expensive side but if it's an independent venture that isn't part of a huge chain then I get it and I'm happy to pay that little bit more.
V. A.
Went in on a recommendation and found this cute spot serving some serious coffee! I am a huge fan of darker roasted beans and they didn’t have any to buy only light roasts, so I got an oat milk latte for a walk in the park around the corner. Sweet staff who are very attentive!
T. S.
One of the best roasters in London. Will go the extra mile if you’re buying fresh beans! They made up a new bag for me on the spot as they had run out up front. Lovely people who know their coffee.
M. H.
Vagabond serve London's best coffee, but their seating area doesn't appear to be heated in the winter, so it's extremely chilly, and therefore rather unpleasant, when drinking inside on winter days. Please turn the heating on!
J. E.
An eclectic and funky coffee shop serving excellent coffee. You can tell they care a lot about what they roast and serve. There's a section at the back of the cafe where they roast their beans, and a decent sized garden - with impractical seating to work from, but nice to enjoy the sun.
The chorizo and cheese sandwich I had was pretty good. Nothing special though.
Wifi worked fine, but there was a lack of power points if you need a charge.
N. G.
Nice and cosy coffee shop with big sandwiches. The space looks tony until you realise it opens up to the back and ends in a nice garden.
The coffee is not to my taste (I'm not a fan of citrus notes in my coffee), but definitely worth a visit if you're after a cuppa.
O. C.
Really nice chilled vibe for an excellent Long Black coffee. Warm and welcoming. Makes all the difference. Brioche bun cold bacon and egg mayo very tasty.
D. M.
Conveniently located on the main street vagabond has more than just good coffee. The coffee shop is a nice little community in itself, and provides learning services, food, and WiFi for people who want to work from the cafe.
The food has always been on point, definitely had more brownies and cookies from this place than most other coffee shops.
It's a bit tough to find even though it's right on the main street, not much of a big sign or anything outside to advertise itself.
Make sure you drop in for a coffee if you're in the area.
I. P.
This is a great place to breakfast. It is comfortable, has a beautiful back garden, clean toilets and great service. Better still, it has really tasty breakfast choices, made with fresh and quality ingrediends. One would expect this to be in a better area than Holloway. It really has what it takes to be better than most in Lancaster Gate or Marble Arch.
L. G.
Amazing coffee - our regular in Highbury & Islington! Particularly yummy ginger cake and the porridge is great in winter. Everything is very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
E. G.
Great tasting coffee, with fantastic and friendly staff!
I come here for my daily coffee, and occasional lunch. The food quality is good, with prices on par with neighbouring places.
j. e. (.
If you are serious about coffee this is the only place in the neighborhood worth your time. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and beans roasted on the premises make it a worthwhile diversion for coffee lovers. There's good wifi and plenty of space for working in, with a charming garden for when the weather gets good.
D. A.
Great staff, love the garden area. Shoutout to Steponas for being so accommodating and to Chef Paco for the delicious food and blessing me with some more bread for his amazing flamenco!
J. J. S.
Excellent coffee from HasBean beans. Very friendly and knowledgeable baristas.
Very nice decor, made by the owners themselves, lots of salvaged wood. It also has a patio in the back for sunny days. It's great to have good coffee in Holloway Road.
They also have a simple but well executed brunch menu, the omelettes are really good.
A. H.
Great coffee, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.
S. M.
Firstly, there is a lot more space than you'd first think, so have a look round the back for more indoor and outdoor areas.....this is more than just a sparsely seated cafe/takeaway. The menu is compact but varied and always tasty and satisfying. I've tried full English and vegetarian options this far and each plate has been f-u-l-l. Beware though, Holloway Road is full of places offering their take on breakfasts, so make sure you know what you're after. A hard hat and builders tea type place this ain't.
S. S.
DELICIOUS and the food came out piping hot which I love! Friendly service too, well done :)
S. P.
Great coffee - unique roasts. Very chic interior. A lot more seating available than it seems. Cakes offered are quite dry.
M.
Weird baristas and music but really excellent espresso and brewed coffee! Fantastic price for take-home beans too! Definitely worth a visit despite a slightly odd atmosphere.
y. j.
Cozy and inviting. Great Caffe, Without a doubt the best Caffe I had in London!
C. T.
Best coffee in the area with super staff from the friendly baristas to the talented chefs! Great place
A. W. A.
Nice artisan coffee place. Love the staff. The atmosphere is relaxed, the coffee is great and the other stuff on offer is decently priced and fresh.
Whenever I´m in/around Holloway and in need of caffeine; This is where I go!
C. F.
Great to see Vagabond open again post lockdown, you've been missed! Great selection as ever of coffee, pastries, cakes, breads, sandwiches and breakfast/brunch dishes to takeaway or eat in.
R. H.
A lovely place to have a coffee and read the papers or have a snack. The little garden is nice in summer and there's plenty of room inside as well - with big tables in the back room. Ace long black and yummy cold brew. Welcoming and unpretentious.
A. M.
Delicious coffee, great selection of cakes and a few solid choices for savoury dishes. Definitely good for a morning or afternoon coffee and work on the laptop
J. B.
Great coffee! Early for a meeting and found this place as somewhere to loiter and had a great flat white. Staff are friendly and appear to enjoy being at work!
E. T.
Some of the best coffee in London! I always try and pop in here when I pass to get a drink, but have never tried the food. Well worth visiting! They host a farmers market on weekends too so worth popping in to see that
E. R.
The coffee here is incredible. I was literally laughing at every sip - it was unbelievably delicious and perfect! It wasn't just the beans - though they helped - it was the evident attention to detail when making it. The barista knew his coffee and made my Americano to absolute perfection. I always like to have a tiny dash of milk but so often this kills the coffee. Mr Vagabonds barista nailed it. The coffee was creamy, quite sweet yet gorgeously rich. I seek good coffee all over London; this was my best to date.
Cafe itself is nice too. Wasn't so keen on the dance beats as the day progressed, but the lovely, homely garden was a haven to take a break.
A. V.
Cozy atmosphere and good coffee.
Nice view of the roastery at the back, with a garden for the summer.
Cinnamon bun is a must have!
S. C.
Yummy food and great coffee! Love this place! @thatfoodlover
H. T. S.
Best Coffee House in London outside of zone 1! Staff have character, good music, nice vibes. Sort of place that makes you feel like your in your home town.
M. M.
New coffee shop just opened a few months ago. Nice and cosy place, simple and cool decoration, and the most important thing good quality coffee. Good and friendly service.
5 minutes from Highbury and Islington overground or Holloway, perfect!
F. A.
Lovely staff and brunch - they have a nice menu that isn't boring and goes beyond avocado toast! Coffee is fabulous and I will be back.
M. F.
Their food is nice, NICE even. Veggie stuff great, vegan not really so much. Their staff were really nice to me and my kids, I'd like to go back.
A. C.
Painfully trendy coffee bar serving artisan/small batch coffees and craft beer too. Deconstructed interior adds to the hip feel. More people on laptops than not.
C. L.
Amazing coffee, I get my beans here as well
S. L.
What a coffee shop should be. Excellent choice of coffee and fresh, tasty accompaniments. Laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. Try the brews they have on offer!
M. H.
Rough and ready, but great for not being a chain!
Good coffee. Home made cake and the gorgeous smell of coffe roasting.
L. M.
Cool and cute cafe and really know their coffee! With an awesome see through coffee machine :)
H. R.
At last a great coffee shop in N7! Holloway Road is well known for its complete dearth of good baristas and lunchtime hangouts - forcing you to brace the business of Upper Street or seek out lesser known stops on the side streets for anywhere good. But this little barista is a real gem and wonderful addition to the high street. Not only do they have soya milk and wifi (woohoo!) but great coffee, lovely artisan breads and I sampled the friend eggs which was actually a wonderful omelette concoction with spinach, tomatoes, fresh bread and relish. A great place to work on a quiet weekday or take a friend on a Sunday morning - definitely will be revisiting this place.
G. C.
The distressed storefront of this coffee shop belies the space behind it.
There's a lovely garden and a big room at the back. Excellent food too.
O. C.
Nicest place for a coffee on the Holloway Road though can be very cold in the back during winter. Bring a coat! Also, wifi can be very sporadic so maybe consider elsewhere if coming to work
G. C.
One of the best english breakfast you can have in London! This place is just amazing. Great selection of breakfast/brunch with No 1 their Vagabond breakfast. Beans that are properly prepared by themselves (not the usual canned ones from groceries), spicy sausages, crispy bacon, fresh oven-cooked potatoes and tasty black pudding. The vegeterian alternative is full of freshly choped/cooked veggies. The space is a bit tiny and the seats are becoming sometimes unconfortable, but the environment is so cosy. Flat whites as they should be with coffee beans that distinguish from the ones used from other coffee shops. Totally recommended!
a. c.
One of the best coffee in London, you have coffee and not water with coffee. work there Monday to Friday, the food has reasonable price. Fast service. I like it
Y. G.
Walk in and it's hipster central...I'm not a fan of the rustic-chic decor. Feels like your in a stable. Saying that, they do one of the best coffees in Islington.
D. F.
Really Tasty Food and lovely coffee. Great space to meet friends or get some work done.
a. r.
Really nice food and excellent hot chocolate in particular (impressive choice of 4 options). Would recommend
K.
Great breakfast. I am generally very critical, but this was a great breakfast. Slightly off standard English breakfast but lovely flavours and excellent coffee. Thank you.
a. h.
Ordered the soup.. it’s kind of water, with veg, and lots of oil floating on top... I asked to exchange it and the staff said ‘that’s how they make it’. Was literally a spoon of oil. Coffee is great though!
D. M.
Friendly, welcoming. Great coffee, tried the fruit loaf which was lovely. Would highly recommend.
M. R.
Very good coffee, great price, nice afternoon ambience and rustic wooden finish. New fave for this area!
B. V.
Topnotch local coffee spot - good mix of cakes and all day food. They have a little garden at the back and space in the roasting area as well.
S. W.
Very nice and cosy place :). And what’s the most important - really great coffee taste.
L.
Hearty breakfast food. Nothing wildly original but you’ll be satisfied.
Coffee is spot on. Plenty of space and decent WiFi as well if you need it
A. K.
Disappointing. We had to wait a long time for our food and juice (at sat lunch) which was a little average. Great for coffee though so would recommend that.
L. C.
Really chill spot to work from, not getting hustled to buy every 10 mins, good WiFi, plenty of plugs and great hot drinks. Unfortunately it was too early for cake for me, next time!
J. R.
The service can be pretty slow, and the coffee quality varies somewhat more than it used to, but they do generally make a good filter coffee here.
A. Y.
Lovely coffee shop and a good place to work in!
M. N.
Aspirational vibe here - coffee pretty good but the seating is your mismatched semi-industrial stuff and the food I've had is okay but nothing particularly delicious.
P. M.
Great coffee and great place to relax and work. They have additional seating in the back with a small garden.
A. S.
Excellent new food menu for brekkie and lunch (the deconstructed guacamole a particular highlight) to go with the always outstanding coffee. Great local spot for any weather.
E. D.
Lovely and cosy backyard. Tricolore breakfast is my favourite. Their coffee is pretty delicious as well.
K. F.
Good coffee, friendly staff, it varies but that is the core! Nice wooden tables, garden, some nice food
L. A. K.

A. G.
Great location .. stunning coffee and a great breakfast. Good price too. Little garden outside
N. B.
High quality food and coffee, relaxing atmosphere and the owner is very nice person! Highly recommended.
В. Ж.
The only place in Islington where you can get a decent cup of coffee. Also, really delicious cakes!
A. G.
Great breakfast / brunch and even better coffee. Staff are very friendly
C. K.
5 stars for the coffee, 3 star for the pain au chocolat. If you charge £2 for a pain au chocolat, it should better than that.
S. C.
Love the look. Great coffee and staff. I work locally and these guys always look after me
G. C.
Great roastery and cafe with small eats, fast wifi, and lots of seating in a rambling space. Check out the garden on a summer day or hang out in the roastery.
D. L.
Easily the best coffee shop anywhere near here, great coffee, as well as a superb omelette, perfect for brunch.
J. v. L.
Piece of Shoreditch tugged away on Holloway road. Coffee and food is good. You compromise on comfort, but it makes the place look trendy.
S. P.
Very nice coffee. Vegan options available. Haven't tried them yet.
I. S.
Good coffee, nice options for lunch or breakfast if you're hungry. Nice cafe to work in.
T. H.
Spacious cafe with a garden and laptop friendly working space behind, coffee was good!
m. r.
Great coffee. Very trendy. I really like the chai latte here
M. M.
Great coffee; fairly large area. Good for working or impromptu workplace meetings
S. T.
Great tasting quality coffee in a simple cosy setting. Reasonable prices for such a hipster setting.
N. M.
Best coffee in the world, been coming here for years.
E. E.
Love the coffee passion at the vagabond! Friendly staff able to chill and have a drink with little bites to eat, high recommend for coffee lovers :)
S. M.
Best coffee outside of one of the good chains like Pret. Food a bit pricey and range quite limited.
A. W.
Plenty of seating, cosy atmosphere, great coffee, and friendly staff - what's not to love and it's just far enough away from the bustling central London.
A. B.
Great service and great food. Tried the omlette with the toast and some additional toppings and it was very tasty made with fresh ingredients.
h.
Great coffee, decent snacks (though small selection) and cosy cafe to sit and work.

Best coffee on the block. Cold brew and pour over are excellent. Also do nice in-house breakfast and takeaway sandwiches. Good wifi. Has a Torrefaction where they roast beans in the back. Secret garden is a great hang.

We had breakfast Sunday morning and it was absolutely delicious. I had the Tricolor breakfast with salmon and my husband the Tree hugger breakfast.
Having tried breakfast in many local places this is the best by far. It has a small shop front but a large communal seating area at the back where they also do coffee roasting.
Treat yourself, you wonder be disappointed.
