Very nice café. We were there for lunch on a Saturday. Very good menu. We had felafel (delicious with hummus and pomegranate) Shakshouka very tasty and their take on Benedict (very generous portion). Lovely coffee too! Service was also very courteous and nice which is always a plus when they’re so busy!

Impeccable fast service even with the whole place packed full of people over the weekend! Staff seemed to be very busy but friendly, calm and all round and enjoying themselves. My wife and I had extra coffee because it was so good, perfect espresso every time, very consistent they do Monmouth coffee just as good as the one in the city. Best pastries and lunch offer in the area and great choice of music too. Clearly a lot of care in the food and drinks here - Thanks so much guys

I had a plain latte but it was anything but plain. Great coffee and excellent choice of beans to use (Monmouth). I didn't try the baked goods but they looked and smelled delicious. 5/5 would definitely recommend.

I love this local wonderful café. Apart from the yummy pastries and coffee - it's the lovely people who work in there that make my mornings really special. Always a warm bonjour - great place to practice your french too! But their little random acts of generosity like this morning...they gave me my coffee on the house. Highly recommend this gem in Highbury. Merci Vertige xx

You MUST try this place! The owner wakes up at 4am every morning to make and bake fresh crossiants and other amazing things. I have tried many places over the years but I have to say this is the No1 place for an amazing patisserie and coffees!

Lovely little new place on Highbury corner that replaced maison d’etre - really helpful staff, great selection of food/cakes. A girl told me about the cold brew she made with beans from Kenya, great after my runs in the morning and extreme heat! probably one of the best tasting coffee in the area with really friendly staff who really care and know about what their making. Highly recommend !

Agree with earlier reviewer, it is not a friendly place. The atmosphere is not welcoming and the staff don't seem happy. Instead of interesting music, the radio is playing giving it a greasy spoon feel. I ordered a pastry that had a bready texture and a cappuccino that was served as a latte with over an inch of the cup left empty. The coffee was fine but I prefer St Paul's by far, for pastry I'll go to Pret. Maybe they'll improve.

Lovely cafe with gorgeous food and friendly staff! I was being quite greedy so I ordered shakshuka, the garlic and rosemary mushrooms and halloumi! And we also shared loads of bread and hummus/falafel too. All the food was great - the bread was so soft and buttery! Labna with the shakshuka was perfect compliment to the rich tomatoes and the hummus was great. We also all indulged in the salted caramel brownie which was gooey and delicious! Good drinks range too, really nice Monmouth coffee and freshly squeezed OJ which I always love! Staff were super friendly, and the interior was light and fresh and comfortable. A great find!

Lovely little french cafe at the top of upper street near the Victoria tube line. The coffee was delicious, along with the croque spinach & mushroom which was divine.

Stumbled across this delicious spot after a walk around Highbury Fields & wish we’d found it sooner in lockdown! Great coffee with Monmouth beans, and the croque monsieur and service was delightful. A dog bowl for thirsty pups also!

These guys are fantastic. Coffee is delicious, all the people working there are friendly and attentive without fail. I've had the food once or twice and it's always been a treat. Almond chocolate patisserie cream croissant is a real winner.
