Reviews of Teapot Island
H. N.
A really great place if you love teapots, it has a museum of 8000 teapots! We did a pottery painting session for a friend's birthday, it was very therapeutic. We had high tea with it, which was individual sandwiches and home-made scones and pots of tea. Lovely little place near a river.
B. L.
I arrived on a sunny Monday after a very busy sunny weekend. This meant that a number of items were not on the menu. Fortunately this did not affect my choice - a BLT on a brown baguette. I was very happy to sit inside in the air conditioned room.
R. Y. b.
Arrived late - as they were closing - but we were welcomed in. Had a pot of tea and sat there and chatted a while - it was a cold day - but I’m sure the location is lovey with a big outside area and lovely position by the river … inside the tea room- a bit stark with the tiles - but done as a precaution for the odd floods - but otherwise nice. And I’m sure we will be back for a Sunday lunch … and the tea pot display was great !!
K. P.
We went to Yalding so our dogs could have a splash around in the water for a few hours and then we popped in to teapot island for lunch, the food was lovely but for the four of us was nearly £60 which seemed a bit expensive just for a cafe so I'd advise to take a picnic or even a bbq to save money.
A. R.
Visited today for the first time today and we had such a lovely time. The breakfasts we had were very generous for the price and delicious! It is always lovely to find somewhere that has a play area and not only did this have but the atmosphere was very relaxed and family friendly. The staff were welcoming too and couldn't do enough for you. The view is lovely and the ice-cream wasn't bad either! Thank you for a lovely time and we will definitely be back.
M. J. B.
Glorious place to visit. Good grub, drink and a museum of teapots!
R. V.
Great collection of teapot's in their walkthrough museum.
Nice friendly restaurant, with great service and even better food
C. F.
Friendly staff and lovely food at the delightful teapot island with riverside seating and a teapot museum.
What more can ask for? ❤️
C. C.
Lovely little cafe and dinner ideal for a little stop over if your walking though on a river walk, lots of choice in the cafe service is good and friendly 😊 lots and lots of teapots 🫖 as you would think from all over the place, different shapes and sizes
S. H.
I've been coming here for years, it's definitely a family favourite. Whether you want a full English, lunch or a snack, you won't be disappointed.
Service is always good, even when it's busy. We've always received a warm welcome and a smile. 🙂
j. A.
Amazing my friend took me here to kayak was a amazing day I will never forget ☺️
T. W.
Was an amazing place. The range of 8000 teapots was mind blowing. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend visiting. Only £3 for an adult. Good food selection and reasonably priced.
A. N.
A nice place to visit .. but you need to either park in a field next door at £3.. or a long walk if you park on the road for free. Motorcycles can use a separate narrow bridge and park very near.. so biker friendly venue!
w. h.
We have our boat nearby so often pop in for a drink and sometimes lunch.
Plenty of food on offer from light snacks to Sunday roast. They have a range of breakfasts available and there are a number of options for vegans. Alternative milks are also available in coffees and teas etc.
There is seating inside and a lovely outside area with stunning views of the upper River Medway.
Kids have a play area and there is even a teapot museum with a modest entry charge
R. B. B.
A nice place to visit on a sunny day. Dining inside and out. Dog friendly. Great full English breakfast. The teapot museum wasnt open when I last went but apparently they have around 8500 teapots on show.
K. K.
Absolutely l8ved the display of teapots . Magnificent and set in beautiful surroundings, however I was disgusted around the way Darryl instructed the young girl doing entries to the museum to get everybody out and not let anyone else through at 3pm because they couldn't cope with the food orders outside! I can understand things were busy......which they should have been happy about ......but that is not the way to speak in front of customers. And the tearoom was closed at 4pm when all times stipulated closing time is at 5. The staff need some training on professional people skills
G. K.
Great service, great food, view of the river and weir.
r. r.
Went for breakfast with my son and daughter in law after discovering teapot island a few weeks ago after a walking the river medway when we originally popped in for a drink. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in ages and being a biker I get to try loads! Lol Great food and friendly service in a great surrounding and can't wait to return soon! Top marks teapot island!
A. S.
Amazing place, the staff are so friendly, the food is homemade and delicious. The museum is beautifully curated and the range of teapots is amazing. There is also a large selection of teapots for sale in their lovely gift shop. Definitely worth the visit we hope to come back soon.
N. C.
Been back twice in one day! Perfect spot by the river Medway and so many things going on around here. Paddle sports, pleasure craft and fishing plus loads of walks (not all smooth and maintained so be wary). Food options amazing from pancakes and waffles to huge brekky and avocado on toast. All brought to your table number plus you can order on line. Garden is filled with seating. Highly recommended. Will go again.
J. W.
Lovely food lovely people and lovely atmosphere
R. G.
A very nice place for picnics and space for dogs to run around, the weir is pleasant enough and fun the children when supervised , ensure to book a table if you would require a meal or drinks at the boat House.
A. R.
Wow! what a lot of teapots. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy.
P. B.
Had a fantastic brunch here on Monday, service was brilliant 👏, Very busy which was good to see. Very impressed at the collection of tea pots.
A. P.
Unique museum with café. Nice day out.
C. L.
Went there on a coach trip for a cream tea which was lovely just scones jam & cream & butter which I asked for. Lots of teapots to look at then sat outside but unfortunately it started to rain then back on the coach .
J. M.
Lovely place to enjoy the beautiful view, reasonable prices, available hot and cold drinks, free car park on street, picnic area 1 min walk, family friendly, etc...
I love it!
G. H.
Even though it was pouring of rain but we visited Teapot Island somewhere I have always wanted to visit. Lovely experience seeing the collection of 8000 teapots on display and had a high tea. Will visit again when I can walk round the Island and look at the weir properly.
M. N.
very friendly staff , great food , birra moretti on draught , lovely location would highly recommend , the toilets are spotlessly clean as well .
J.
A unique place with good food and excellent service. Worth a trip for the tea pot collection itself! A Kentish gem
L. T.
One of West Kent Road Club's favourite cafe stops. Plenty of food choices for breakfast and lunch, great for families with young kids. Nice garden overlooking the river.
R. C.
Great little place on the river, good food, better views. There's a kids play park there and once your done you can take a walk along the river.
A. H.
Great local spot for lunch or tea. Keith extremely friendly and welcoming.
d. b.
Not really a tea pot guy but this place was Amazing. For so little money I was astounded by the shear number and type of tea pots they have . Didn't use the restaurant/cafe
N. H.
One of my favourite places on earth and somewhere that I will continue to go back... I have come here twice so far and we are already planning to go back soon as the sun comes out. It's a great place to come for a day out. The tea pot museum is just hilarious to walk round and see so many creative ways to poor tea. Then my favourite bit the scones and pot of tea... They make their own jam which for someone who hates jam actually appreciates as it tastes really nice. Complete with clotted cream and warm fresh scones is a win. We have also eaten meals there and they aren't going to win Michelin stars but for the price you get a fair amount and it's not all straight from frozen with some effort put in. It has a friendly atmosphere and on both occasions ended up staying here for a few hours just enjoying the views and food. It also has a children's play area and is dog friendly. It's an adorable place and it needs more acclaim and since it's family run a friendly custom.
N. B.
Lovely place to walk or sit and enjoy the views. Parking can be difficult however as it's along the edge of the country road.
C. C.
Good food at fair prices
It does get busy. Really enjoyed our cream tea.
Somewhere for the under 10s to play.
J. M.
It's a very busy and popular place so that speaks for itself. You won't be disappointed if you stop here for a cup of coffee or food.
T. B.
If you or someone you know loves teapots this place is a must. Over 8000 on display
M. M.
Great food, very friendly staff.
S. H.
They do all lactose free , dairy free. Any allergies they cater for. In 7th heaven. Could eat without worrying.
T. H.

K. M.
Good family friendly cafe with outdoor toys for children to use.
Local parking charges apply.
A. S.
Great place for a coffee and adopt of lunch then a nice walk along the Medway
s. t.
First ever visit on 13/7/18 with my husband and we loved the place. We may need another visit to take all the teapots in! The only reason it wasn't 5* was due to the menu being pricey.
S. J.
Had the best time at Teapot Island.
The food was lovely and i had such a lovely time there with my family.
Loved that there is a playground bit for the kids and children are so welcome.
Thank you.
We will be back again.
A. B.
We spent a nice afternoon there a bite to eat and a walk 🚶♂️ along the canal foot path in the sunshine 🌞
I. C.
Great place for a cuppa and nice food small play area for kids and great walk along river medway
K. W.
I absolutely love this place! I go and sit and have a tea on my own, sometimes paint a piece of bisque! Friendly staff! Lovely atmosphere!
E. W.
£3 to park last all day, food alright, great service. Plus you can walk along river..
B. C.
Lovely little gem, very quaint and interesting. Nice walks along the river.
Shame the weather was cool today.
Cream tea was very nice, thank you.
j. f.
Nice place for picnic or bbq. Reasonable prices in teapot museum and cafe.
C. W.
Great place. Like an Aladdin's cave of Teapots. Lovely cafe too
m. s.
I love going there especially Autumn time when not so busy , the cafe there is very good with freindly people , I regularly go there for breakfast
L. F.
Great little place in a good setting but unfortunately has extremely long waiting times for food even just a sandwich
J. B.
Friendly staff food was nice too however a bit off-putting the carpet/rug could do with a good clean at front of cafe
C. T.
Food is very nice, very fresh and very high quality. The price is reasonable too for what you get.
S. M.
What with these strange times, it's kinda semi-functional, but with a reduced range of products. Obviously, loos aren't open due to Covid-19, but plenty of refreshments. To be truthful, I find this place a slightly weird 'in-between things' venue. You've got nicer folk looking to enjoy the countryside/water, but the local scallywags clutching their tins of cheap energy drinks and/or strong lager. The smell of spliffs will likely permeate your nostrils too. Because of the latter, it's doubtful I'll be returning with the younger members of my family.
S. J.
Would have been nice for a walk but heavy rain stopped play
R. L.
Great setting food and ice cream. Very disappointing milk shake expected so much more
M. S.
Great food at good prices, friendly staff and a great view.
Where better to go for breakfast lunch or in my case a quick coffee.
N. L.
A quaint place in yalding especially If you love tea pots..over 3000 to view or purchase. Raising money for air ambulance. Cakes were scrummy. Outside play bit for kids. Reasonably priced. Also available Sunday lunch which we never had but it smelt beautiful
P. Y.
It's OK for coffee & cake or a meal, guy serving needs to smile 😃 a bit more.
K. M.
Had the big breakfast and it was as described, a big plateful with no white space showing. The food was tasty, well cooked and presented. I also had a takeway sandwich for later that came in a fully compostable box that stopped it getting crushed in my rucksack, a nice touch. The all-important food rating from the health inspector displayed in the window is 5 stars.
D. J.
Fantastic, all staff extremely helpful and friendly! Amazing displays of teapots, would definitely recommend a visit and will be going back!!
S. M. C.
Cute little place! Cheap cuppa and excellent looking food. Friendly service 😊😊😊
G. G.
Never seen so many teapots of every size and design, really lovely place to visit. Friendly staff and great food.
S. B.
Lovely place! homemade everything! Dogs welcome
W. “. O. M.
Heard so much about this place from family and friends so headed off down with my partner to check it out for a bite to eat mainly. Being out of season in November I wasn't expecting much and the carpark was shut so had to park down the road and walk back to it but my god asked for pie and chips and the pie was massive and tasted great. Staff was great and surprised when one said he came from the area we live before moving there. Didn't know they made so many teapot designs if you go to veiw that as well. Nice location for a walk afterwards as well but bring your walking boots.
L. H.
There is a museum with over 8000 teapots, café, toilets and a play area. We had lunch in the café and it was delicious. We parked on the main road and then walked over the bridge.
@playgroundadventures
I. P.
A really lovely place. Good food very nice staff. Wonderful walks along the river. Plus the odd teapot if you want to buy. 😊
K.
Lovely place to visit for a nice coffee break or lunch
F. M.
Delicious all day breakfast and scrupulously clean toilet.
B. M.
Great Food. Interesting museum with over 8000 teapots 🫖.
T. H.
Went recently nice cafe varied menu nice area for a stroll by the river but best of all was the museum so many tea pots even better we had the place to out self so we could take our time.
J. M.
I will always remember my dad here playing with his granddaughter
C. D.
My friend and had a lovely visit today. All covid protection in place. We enjoyed a delicious baguette inside the marquee as even though it was nice and sunny the breeze was cold. The marquee is well ventilated so we felt quite safe. Will be going back again soon.
K. S.
Beautiful and amazing collection of ~8000 teapots in march 2019
Z. D.
Lovely little place with playground for children and an ice cream stall. Lovely little walk. So nice to see kayak's on river. Only disappointment was the half hour wait on food.
O. B.
Great location for a brake. Lots of cyclists. Very pretty
D. R.
Classic cafe, proper breakfast! Good price. Cycled over from Crawley on BH. Only dissapointment was the grumpy employee. Needs better manners and a clean up. Give the man a polo shirt at least. Will definitely be back. Owner and lady serving were great 👍
C. J.
1st I've been there was a lovely visit sat out side by the river watching the ducks 🦆 just a shame there was a cold wind
A. G.
lovely place to relax by the river. Long queues, but managed very well.
P. P.
Great Collection of tea pots, must visit place, ideal for family day out and lovley picnic spot... the owner is amazing and very friendly, had a great service, made our day....
j. B.
Breakfast really good, but can be a wait even if not too busy. Plenty of seating, but outnumbered by teapots. One thing I don't own, maybe coz they have them all.
c. d.
Enjoyed the display of teapots, but could have had some better sorting e.g. although collections of animals, cars etc. Some of the designer teapots or other theme such as Dr Who were spread all over the place.
Cafe appeared busy although we’re told of delays between 1 hr-40 mins during lunchtime on a Sunday, ordered sandwiches & got them within 10. Very generous with tea as well.
D. B.
So much to see. Well worth £2.50.
Brilliant collection of novelty tea pots and the cafe is good value for money.
d. r.
I would just like to say a big thank you for hosting our afternoon gathering on Tuesday 15th June at 2pm. Not only were the Cream teas lovely the service was excellent and the way that the Covid rules we're followed was very was skilfully handled. Well done. We will be delighted to return again in the summer
A very nice afternoon
Denise
B. R.
Friendly staff, and the most amazing breakfast..
W. F.
Excellent place to visit, something for all the family. The teepot museum was amazing. Loved watching the kayakers on the river, small playarea for the kids, nice walk down the towpath, good food from the cafe. Will be visiting again
A. l.
There are a LOT of teapots! Honestly, something for everyone in here. Totally worth £2.50. Lovely little cafe too.
J. B.
Amazing place all so a teapot museum to visit with over 8000tes pots to look at fantastic place can't wait to make another visit
S. H.
Didn't get to check-out the teapot collection (which looks extensive and interesting) but had a lovely bacon baguette outside under a large gazebo..
Dogs on a lead welcome.
COVID regulations are being followed diligently inside and out.
All in all, a nice spot to relax for a while.
M. N.
All round a good experience, coffee and food was nice, staff were friendly and there's some nice walks nearby. Wished I'd have walked away having bought a teapot, might have to go back.
A. W.
Lovely food helpful staff thankyou
m. t.
Alway a nice place to go , food 1st along with the friendly staff
S. G.
Lovely little place for a bit of light lunch
i. t.
Worth a visit when going into yalding. If you are a tea pot collector, this is a place for you. With hundreds on display. Good menu selection.
M. P.
Great place to stop for a meal, they have over 8000 teapots on display, many for sale, so if you are looking for an unusual present, give them a visit, the food is well worth trying.
J. P.
Nice cuppa and muffins were lovely - perfect for mid bike ride fuel up
O. A.
Pure, serene. 8500 strong teapot exhibition.
S.
Visited Teapot Island on Sunday with my husband and 3 kids (16, 14, 11) it was great the price was good and the food was deffo worth it. The seating area was lovely, the service was great and the people and atmosphere was incredible. When we finished breakfast we took a nice walk around the canals was so peaceful and beautiful, deffo recommend this place.
J. G.
We popped in here on Wednesday afternoon for a cuppa before a lovely walk along the river. The cafe is dog-friendly and has a large outdoor seating area in a great location. We were served by friendly, accommodating staff. The cafe owner has displayed her extensive collection of teapots throughout the building, adding interest to our visit. Will definitely visit again. The tea was nice too!
I. B.
Over 8000 teapots in their collection. Fascinating. Tearoom supplies good tea. Food is ok too. Surroundings v.pleasant. Will go again.
c. s.
Visited recently not as impressed as I was on previous visits. Long wait for food - fairly basic cafe menu now. Its good enough - but it was special.
D. M.
A beautiful place to visit by the water. A family run cafe with a large choice of food from sandwiches to hot meals, never disappointed. For a small fee you can see an extremely amazing Teapot collection.
You pay to park in the field beside them, currently £2. You need coins for the parking machine. I love visiting here, always made to feel so welcome, thank you to the team special mention for Sandra who took our order and Darren who was running around clearing the tables outside where we sat. Thank you again, see you again soon
L. S.
Family run cafe on the river bank selling tea and cake with a savoury menu covering toasted sandwiches and cooked breakfasts. Sunday lunch on offer too. Cakes are good but not too enthusiastic about their roast. Feels very 1980’s and aimed at young families, which isn’t a bad thing on either account. We always stop for a drink and a slice of cake when walking past.
S. W.
Definitely worth a visit, tea coffee and cakes as well as ice cream and other yummy stuff. Plenty of seating inside and out. Right on the river with access to footpaths and moorings. The parking access is a bit strange. You need cash at the barrier on entry. £2.50 weekdays and £3.00 weekends.
A. H.
Great coffee. Nice break from my walk.
S.
The teapot exhibition was enjoyable, the man who runs it was lovely.
However there were two older members of staff in the cafe that were quite rude. They had a go at us about face masks, but government guidelines at the moment say you don't need to wear them in food places where you intend to sit and eat (which we did). They done this while not wearing masks themselves.... None of the staff did. And none of the other customers were wearing them when we went in earlier that day.
Not a fan of hypocrites, so won't be returning.
R. L.
Excellent good. Amazing scones. The
Cream Tea was excellent. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Interesting Tea Pot Museum over 8000 teapots. Parking is £2. There are walks by the canal. Also a children's play area..
C. T.
Nice location, lots of wasps. Little mean with their milk. Long queues on sunday
b. b.
Slightly greasy breakfast. Heinz bottles but cheap refill ketchup. Great staff. Nice place to have a wander.
J. j.
Peaceful...and near to nature...enjoyed my day out.
L. H.
Very friendly. Nice for an ice cream and drink after a walk along the Medway even had frozen yoghurts for dogs.
N. S.
Weird and wonderful. Not a lot for young kids to do apart from play in the play area, but if the weather is good that should keep them busy for a few hours. The cafe is brilliant and very good value for money. The staff are lovely and couldn't have been more helpful when my 3 year old Grandbean was stung on the lip by a wasp. The teapot collection is crazy!! It just goes on and on, and I'm going back without any children to really explore it.
L. M.
Lovely sunny seating area on the edge of the river with plenty of inside seating if needed. Play area within seating sight. Good food choices all prepared in the kitchen. Friendly staff, good drink and cake selection. Sunday roast is yum. Big selection of ice creams and desserts. The biggest teapot collection ever. Its huge. Would highly recommend a walk along the river with a stop in the tea room
L. W.
We had our Christmas lunch here today (3 December 2018). There were about 30 of us from a club for the disabled. The Christmas table decorations and the dining area were very festive, the food was delicious and the service was great - nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our club members thoroughly enjoyed themselves in a friendly and relaxed environment. Thank you everybody at Teapot Island for starting off our festive season in a fashion we intend to continue!
J. H.
Lovely place to chill out and relax by the River. Food good quality and good value for money it can take a while for the food to come but definitely worth the wait. The staff were polite and friendly and very welcoming nothing was too much trouble. If you have a few hours to spare this is well worth a visit.
P. W.
We had a delicious lunch then wandered around amazed at the 5 rooms of teapots. They are all behind perspex, which was a massive relief walking in there with 2 small children. The staff were all very attentive and the place was really clean. A lovely afternoon.
T. K.
Lovely friendly family place to go
L. T.
Teapot island was both fascinating and eclectic, it exceeded my expectations. Very interesting, a showcase of teapots from a world I didn’t know existed. I wish there was more space for the shop to expand and offer a greater selection to purchase. Great visit!
H. S.
Been going here for over 40 years and I still love it and yalding village is so beautiful. It's also so dog friendly you can even buy them there own custom made dog friendly ice pops . The staff are fantastic especially the lady who I presume owns/runs the cafe who will go the extra mile to ensure her customers are happy. I don't do dairy and was so pleased they do diary a alternative they also do gluten free they really try to cater for all.😁
K. M.
Nice place run by very friendly people. The food is fresh and tasty and the surroundings are brilliant. Clean and friendly atmosphere.
D. i. B.
A warm and wonderful place in the middle of stunning scenery. The coffee was incredibly good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I look forward to my next visit.
R. R.
Great brekkie wonderful staff in particular the young lady taking the orders she's a real gem
Lovely river views
Seating inside and out
Teapot museum for a small fee
J. M.
Fast friendly service. Reasonable prices, we both had soup, Red Thai and Carrot/Coriander, piping hot and served with hot baguette and butter. Highly recommended.
L. H.
An unsung quintessentially English treasure. Quirky teapot museum that is well worth the small entrance fee and a real live potter on site. Nice cafe with plenty of inexpensive food choices and ice creams to boot and really nice staff. Walk along the river and surrounds very tranquil and excellent pub next to the bridge. Loads of easy parking but make sure you have £2.50 cash for the parking machine.
T. “. E.
We have been camping in Kent for about 11 years and have passed Teapot island several times in the past and kept meaning to visit this place but haven't until now. And now I'm gutted cause we have been missing out on a lovely place.
The seating area is comfortable with clean toilets and although it was busy the food came hot with generous portions and not too long to wait.
We decided to check out the teapot museum, it is incredible that there were so many teapots, fascinating to see if not a tad over whelming! Staff in shop and cafe are awesome with a smile on their faces.
Also love the fact it's dog friendly and they even have a doggy ice-cream for your furry friends! The carpark is a grass field just over a bridge (or before it depending on which way you come to the island). You have to pay for the carpark. There is also a lovely walk down the riverside with picturesque riverside homes with walled gardens, white geese and rose bushes. It's not a 'Whole day' out adventure but still very much worthwhile! Perfick!!
K. M.
Lovely spot in the country. Good friendly service, nice menu/drinks. Serves a good selection of ice creams. Good place to take kids for a runaround. Car park is £2.00(pound coins only).
L. R.
Brilliant pit stop for a bike ride. Very pleasant location and friendly staff. They have a good selection of cafe food. There's not much cake but the location and value make up for it.
T. R.
Novelity tea room with museum of over 8,500 teapots and a nice play area for kids. Food was average cafe fare.
L. L.
The display of teapot was huge, didn't expect to see as many as I did in all shapes sizes and style, house in one building with several rooms. Also had lunch which wad just a snack but cooked well and enjoyable
V. H.
Nice little place to visit. Friendly staff. Amazing collection of teapots. We visited on a dank day in January. Imagine on a warm sunny day, the outside area would be lovely to enjoy.
H. K.
Lovely food, ploughman’s lunch and soup. Take away cream tea by request. Friendly service. Clean and speedy. On the river Medway. Little secret gem. Will definitely return for a walk by the river in better weather. The tea was served in workman’s cups but it was lovely tea!!
J. G.
Nice café if you're in the area strolling along the river or enjoying some fishing. Nice atmosphere inside, along with a good selection of breakfasts / light lunch or sandwiches. In addition there is a fantastic range of teapots of all shapes and sizes on sale too.
N. T.
Super friendly staff let me and a friend hang out in the garden while they opened up. Coffee wasn't bad and the cake OK. Bacon and egg sandwich was OK too. You'll like it if you don't expect too much!
B. M.
Great place. Nice food and drinks. Good place to start and / or finish a walk.
K. L.
Ideal at any occasion, had great brunch with my lovely hubby to celebrate our 48 year anniversary. Peaceful walk by river and ice cream to follow, lovely to take there too. Kay Lawson
L. D.
Really cosy. As a biker they have spaces away from the main road that you can keep watch over your bike whilst you're eating.
C. B.
Great ... good setting on the confluence of the rivers Mewdway and Teise... fun place for a drink and a bite ... all you need after a good riverside walk
K. P.
Lovely place. Lovely outlook.
J. P.
Have a Wonderful walk along the river then you can sit down with a nice cup of tea
Excellent service from polite staff
Worth a visit to just sit by the riverbank and watch the world go by..

How to rate this place? On the one hand it’s ‘just’ a bunch of teapots but on the the other it is a quirky treat for anyone whether they be tea lovers or not.
I can only judge by my family’s experience but I’ve decided it’s the latter. We actually used to tease our children about visiting the museum (to much eye rolling I might add) but when we finally decided to visit they absolutely adored it. Cries of “look at this one!” rang out from around corners constantly. Well worth the small price of admission.
On site is also a children’s play area and a cafe. Both excellent.

Great place for a cuppa! Right by the river, so a good stop if you like the water. Big open space next to the island, great for picnics and letting the kids run wild. We use as a rest point when kayaking the medway.
A. F.
Although busy, its a nice place to chill, good full English breakfast too...biker friendly.
A. A.
Quirky and unique. Has a teapot museum with over 8000 exhibits. Situated on banks of River Medway in rural surroundings with towpath walks. Has a small children's play area. Good cafe offering range of snacks and meals. Internal and external seating. Food at reasonable prices. Opportunity to decorate your own ceramic, popular with children.
Parking adjacent in field, payment at barrier on entry with machine only accepting coins.
L. B.
BEST ICECREAM EVER!!
Such a lovely, quiet place to visit.
S. C.
Had a very lovely breakfast this morning. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
P. S.
Love this place. Food is basic, service is good. Environment is one of the best. There are play area for kids and the outdoor space is very spacious and you can enjoy the river view too.
D. F.
Breakfast was lovely. Just to note, food is served on paper plates & plastic cutlery (due to Covid) but it would have been nice to be told this when ordering.
L. F.
Interesting place with a huge amount of teapots.
The cafe side is a bit naff and could do with a tidy up.
Tea and scones were ok but stingy with the cream and jam.
Definitely worth a visit, to see the teapots!
P.
Nice place for a coffee right by the weir at Yalding
G. A. T.
So relaxing to be able to sit in the garden of a family - friendly cafe next to the river and watch the kayaks go by. Service very friendly and food tasty. Would definitely return.
A. C.
Great pub, nice cafe and good areas for picnics by the canal. Perfect for a sunny afternoon out.
g. f.
Good tea coffee and food.So many teapots in the museum.Worth a visit.
H. H.
It's not exactly a museum. More like a tiny teapot shop... With a collection of teapots acquired over time. The tea room seems average. The Anchored across the bridge does decent food and refreshments nice setting but wouldn't focus on the teapot aspect, I'd just got online for a more authentic and extensive range.
D. T.
Great place, you don't realise how many teapots there are. Great to show the kids. Food is lovely too and staff friendly. Great morning or afternoon out
T. C.
Lovely to see the teapots.
The cafe is great. Tasty treats 😋
C.
A real gem of a place. Avoided it for a long time as assumed it would be a typical tourist trap type venue but it really isn't. High quality, but cheap food with a lovely view and excellent service. Absolutely A1!
L. H.
Arrived here after a walking along the Medway Valley Walk from East Peckham with our pet dog and were very glad to be greeted by Teapot Island (It was the Easter Monday bank holiday so were not expecting to find anywhere open). The toddler thoroughly enjoyed the garden toys and the dovecote residents (who were enjoying any food scraps left behind, much to her entertainment). The dog was less pragmatic about hanging out with the birds unfortunately but I think she also had fun in her own way. The cups of tea and snacks we all had were thoroughly enjoyable and reasonably priced and the setting is very pretty. We look forward to returning again one afternoon.
C. B.
Such a lovely part of Kent. Great for walks, wonderful outdoor space, great cafe that sells wonderful cake selection. All Covid measures in place.
Worth a visit.
G. a.
Very enjoyable loads of family there drinks food I will go back again parking £3.50
j. w.
Very sweet venue - the teapot museum itself very quirky and the food we had was delicious - sausage sandwich, ham egg and chips and chicken burger. Also impressed by the doggie ice creams!
S. C.
Beautiful place to visit for breakfast, lunch or just a cuppa. Friendly staff and a great place for kids and if you like teapots you won't be disappointed! Would highly recommend.
S. K.
Nice little cafe with excellent toilets and lots of seating under cover.
R. M.
Unique area with this nice restaurant housing over 8000 teapots! Food was good and service was very pleasant and friendly. Park in the adjacent paid car park.
L. M.
Great cafe. Nice friendly staff. A great reward after a long downhill cycle ride from Rochester... And an uphill one on the way back.
K. B.
Yalding is a lovely place for adults and children alike. You can park all day for around 2.00 pound and teapot island is just over the bridge. They always have a lovely selection of hot and cold food. Also ice creams and lollies. There is seating out side. And food is medium priced. When busy you can wait around 30min for food. The is a little shop that sells teapots and you can see them being made next door.
S. J.
Great food, lovely views of the river and a quirky teapot museum. What's not to like. Children's play area and dog friendly garden.
T. J.
A lovely place to see sit out when it's warm and sunny . By the river medway

M. B.
Just been to teapot 🫖 Island and liked it very much, you must visit the teapot museum, it is just wonderful how many teapots there are....
J. E.
Must visit next year
S. R.
Nice enough location, and the cream tea was ok (scones weren't the freshest mind), but the website says you can get a free visit to the Teapot Museum if you eat there but you only get access to the front part (shop) and still have to pay £2.50 to visit the bigger collection, small enough entry fee to be sure but the 'free entry' aspect is misleading
S. R.
Lovely food and the staff are really friendly. Amazing teapots and brought back some memories
R. T. N.
