Reviews of Where Memories Meet

Such amazing cakes! And served on such beautiful crockery. This place is a little gem. The antiques shop downstairs is also well worth a visit. I picked up a pretty jam pot for my collection. Highly recommend.

This is an absolute gem of a place.
After seemingly endless motorway miles we turned off to wiggle our way through green countryside and stopped to enjoy real coffee 👧🏼 and a proper pot of tea 👴 with a proper tea strainer. Although we are determined to cut back on cake 🍰 the Bakewell Tart was winking at us and who were we to look away?
We cannot recommend this haven too highly.
Thank you, Nick and Hilary.
P.S. There is a free car park on the right, down the hill from the traffic lights. However, it was full of yummy-mummy soft roaders during a birthday celebration close by so we continued down the hill for a very short distance and parked in a line of cars along the road.

Just love this place! Tasty salad meals especially, though the cakes are fab too. Great for a quick lunch or a relaxing afternoon tea. You need to book at weekends. Peruse the quirky antiques in the basement shop afterwards.

Just had cheesey scrambled on granary and garnish. Oh it was unbelievably amazing and melted in the mouth. Each forkful was a delight in itself. The coffee here is top draw too. Another awesome thing about this place is that you can view all the antiques for sale while you wait and bag a bargin of yesteryear. As it is a main meeting place for Wateringbury it can get busy so reserving a table is fine. Veggies vegans also catered for. My wife had chessey scrambled egg on muffin with crispy bacon and she loved it too. Simple wholesome menu cooked too perfection everytime. If you're passing through Wateringbury you have to drop in. I promise you won't be disappointed. It's a 1000/1000 from us and we'll definitely be coming back. Apologies for not uploading pictures but I couldn't wait too tuck in.

Best Tea Rooms Cafe ever! Homemade quality & wholesome food, great atmosphere & friendly service. Cheesy scrambled eggs on toast, so fluffy n yummy but our favourite are Lucy's lovely jacket spuds & cakes. Totally recommend! 🙂

Beautiful little tea rooms in the pretty setting of Wateringbury with an antique showroom in the basement. Food and drink served on a lovely selection of vintage china. As is located on the crossroads, parking is available opposite in the library and pavilion car park.

Excellent place to come for a great lunch or afternoon tea, the food is lovely and there is so much choice, everything is made fresh meaning you get such a fresh tasting meal. Cakes are wonderful the banana and chocolate cake was wonderful . The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Very lovely tea rooms. Vast and varied menu including breakfast. We had a Cream Tea, delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes. We were so full that we had to take some of it home in a "doogy bag" which was a lovely little white cake box, just made for the purpose 🎂😁👌

Afternoon tea was absolutely brilliant, staff were lovely and loved being able to browse the shop while enjoying the food. Looking forward to visiting again.
T. S.
what a wonderful tearoom! lovely varieties of teas, cakes and sandwiches etc. I also enjoyed walking round the antiques as well. I'll be back soon to explore more of the menu!
A. H.
Excellent menu range and super service from friendly staff.

We had takeaway afternoon tea for my birthday and can thoroughly recommend it. Service always with a smile.

Brilliant teas, coffees and cakes in a very relaxed and friendly environment. Great basement with a lot of antiques and collectables on display too. Great place to be.

Such a lovely tea room. Beautiful home made cakes. Very friendly owner who works hard, and friendly assistants. Love walking round the antiques when weve had some lovely home made cake. Would recommend this tea room to anybody who hasnt tried it yet. It takes us around 30/40 mintes to get there but we often make the ride out there just to go there.

Lovely coffee and the most delicious bakewell tart and while we were sitting saw a picture we loved so bought at the same time. Lucy who owns it is lovely and friendly

First visit today. It was nice. Staff very attentive but not overly so which was perfect. Very small so didn't take a lot of people before it was full. My friend had reserved a table in the window but when she got there, they had set up for another group of people having afternoon tea. When my friend questioned this she was told it had already been reserved before she reserved it, so why didn't they tell her that on the phone at the time! They didn't take our details either for track and trace COVID-19.

A small eating / meeting place with great food and a couple of lovely ladies cooking, serving and running it. Its an antiques shop as well and has its own genuine water well in the basement, so plenty to see or buy while you are waiting for food to turn up, which is never long. Unreserved recommend for somewhere to go for a light meal, you just provide the company. (I once had an outstanding fruit milkshake that was truly heaven-sent.) Go and try it!

Took my mum to this charming little place for Mother's day as we are both big fans of afternoon tea. We got serve some really fresh yummy cakes and scones. The staff even so kindly asked if we would like our tea re-filled even though the shop was totally packed and busy! We've been to many places for afternoon tea, both expensive and cheap, and this is one of the best places with good value for money, a quirky atmosphere and welcoming staff. Will definitely go back for more!

Lovely toasted sandwiches and real leaf tea.

Visit here with my father as he has good memories of when my mother was alive. They dined here on many occasion. Lovely food and proprietor/staff very attentive/nice. Average prices of meals and great home made cakes. Have a look at the second hand hand furniture etc downstairs.
M. W.
Such amazing staff, couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome and happy. The food was original, delicious and diverse. A large selection of leaf teas, wonderful coffees, smoothies and soft drinks. Bar downstairs for functions. Such quality! A real gem of a place. Can't praise it enough x
A. H.
Lovely little tea room but need to order the day before for afternoon teas. Lovely staff. Parking is not obvious, but is in the village hall car park opposite. The post office next door has some lovely treats in store too so worth popping in.
L. W.
Wonderful staff who work so hard to make sure your visit is perfect. Fantastic food, really delicious, a good variety and fairly priced. A marvellous collection antiques and novelties in the aladdins cave downstairs too, it's such a great place to visit. I look forward to going each time.

We arranged with Memories to have lunch before a wedding nearby. They were incredibly accommodating, providing us with menu's up front so we could order before we got there. They provided gluten free bread for two of our party and had a gluten free cake as well, so we felt well cared for. On they day they were friendly and helpful and didn't worry about our 1 year old dropping crumbs all over the place. Lovely vintage feel with various antiques actually being used to serve the food - each chair and table was different too - unique and charming!
M.
This is a lovely little tearooms which serve really good breakfasts and nice cream teas. Getting quite popular now, so you may need to book and by 1 o'clock today they had run out of my favourite big breakfast 😭
M. R.
Eat in, or takeaway; the homemade cakes and pastries, such as carrot cake, chocolate cake, and Bakewell tart are light, delicious and the welcome antidote, at the end of a busy working day...😋😋😋
T. S.
Delicious sandwiches freshly made. Can especially recommend the chicken and bacon with chilli sauce, mayo and cucumber. REALLY YUM. Also the wonderful rosebud tea. The staff are lovely so goodness knows why somebody said they weren't.
M.
Lovely little cafe with a lot of character. They offer a nice selection of tea blends served in quaint, mismatched tea sets. Staff were kind and the mixture of antiques arranged around the tables was fascinating to look at.
J. D.
Excellent! Charming tea room and antiques shop run by lovely friendly ladies. Fantastic sandwiches and delicious cakes. The Sticky Toffee Salted Caramel Cake is highly recommended!
S. K.
First visit today whilst taking my car to the very wonderful Maidstone Auto Centre across the way in Bow Rd. Quaint old-fashioned tea rooms with even vintage music playing in the background. Coffee very thoughtfully made by the delightful & quirky owner.
The fact that there were people queuing to get in even on a seemingly quiet Tuesday morning just as the café was opening speaks for itself. This is obviously a much-loved establishment.
Handy free car park a stone's throw away to top off the experience.
K. G.
Wonderful afternoon tea, a present from my husband for our anniversary. Would thoroughly recommend. It's something completely different from a restaurant meal. Loved it, thank you so much
M.
You have to go here! A true gem of a place, superb food (all hand prepared), great staff, and with an antique shop downstairs too.

J. C.
a great find for that special tea. Last time we were 10 with ages from 5 to 80 and all were satisfied. Prices are fair and there is the added bonus of an antique shop.
N. D.
I have been going here since it opened, a lovely little shop in a nice location serving excellent teas and cakes as well as an antique shop below.
If you like peaceful surroundings and some good loose leaf tea then this is for you.
