This is a lovely place, The staff are all friendly and will go out of their way to do anything for you. Food here is amazing, from the breakfasts to the home made cakes. It can sometimes be hard to find a place to sit but that just goes to show how good they are. Foods cooked to perfection and are vegan and vegetarian friendly. We call in after a walk and get a cold drink and a slice of cake. They have several different options like Carrot cake, lemon drizzle, victoria sponge and chocolate cake. They have other options every now and then but all are very good.

This is a hidden gem of a place, tucked away off the high street. I swear, when you're sat there, surrounded by painted walls, flower filled pots, enclosed walls and blues sky's, you could be anywhere in the world!! It has a really nice chilled out vibe, a kind of coastal shack feel, without the sea! The beers cold and well priced and there's a good choice of wines, beers and spirits. Well worth a visit, or don't and let it be enjoyed by those who already love this place.

Quirky with a vintage twist. I love this little café. It's so inviting and you can smell the beautiful food as you approach. The new location is definitely better for size. There's seating inside and out which makes a change for this area. I love the shear selection of tea and I'm slowly trying to work my way through them all. So far my favourite is the fairy wings tea. They also have a great milkshake selection. The bacon butties are amazing. Plus the homemade cakes and scones are a must try.

The Snug is a delightful cafe in a cobbled courtyard in Atherton. They serve vegetarian and vegan food including vegan cakes that are delicious. There is a nice range of fancy tea types. It is also a music venue in the evenings at weekend. Staff and customers are both welcoming and friendly.

Absolute gem!! Its tucked away down a little off road from the main shops, but it is worth it!! All of the food is freshly prepared, tea is loose leaf. The music and events are great. The whole place is missing only 1 thing......you!

Brilliant place!! I believe they also have live music acts too, but as much as I'd like to attend, haven't as yet!! I love the snug. Lovely coffee hot or cold I love the detox tea especially at weekends 😉. Love the cakes and local produce including the jam and honey (sorts my hayfever out) and I I'm in love with the skinny pies. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I love the record player too. Brilliant place to meet up with your friends for a chat .

A very friendly city centre type Coffee House in a small town setting. Superb coffees and loose leaf teas and delicious home-made cakes. They have also started doing milk shakes and frappes.Great atmosphere, brilliant pictures and helping other local businesses by selling home-made jams and honey, hand-made jewellery and Skinny pies. This truly is hidden gem. I love the set up of the place, the atmosphere has been fantastic every time I have been to various events that they hold and the people who attend and staff are all fantastic. A common goal is on the menu - great music,a proper selection of drinks . I just wish they could have more late licences as this restricts the amount of good times that I can spend in there. Come on Wigan council - sort out a late licence for this great business who are consistently trying and succeeding with new and vibrant ideas for the local community . Its different, its fun and it works - get yourself down there for a drink and a dance !!!

Adorable setting and cosy atmosphere. My cofee Americano was delicious and kids loved their cream and marshmallow topped milkshakes. Haven't tried any food yet but heard lots of compliments from people in town. Highly recommended!

With a variety of loose leaf teas, hand crafted coffee & syrup flavours, there really is something for everyone. And if coffee and tea isn't for you, their range of frappe's and delicious milkshakes will definatly satisfy you. The staff are lovely, and are willing to go above and beyond to help customers. With local jam, honey and incredible home made cake, as well as selling skinny pies and locally-made hand-made jewellery, it's a local shop helping local people. It has a great atmosphere that just can't be beat! The best coffee shop in town! ❤❤

I absolutely love The Snug, I come here every day. The latte art is out of this world, there's plenty of room for babies and they really make a fuss of the kids. My 6 year old daughter looks forward to every Saturday for her treat in the Snug. They have colouring books and kids games. The staff are all lovely and can't do enough for you. All my family come here regularly too. Highly recommend The Snug.

This is what all coffee shops should aspire to be. Warm, welcoming, chunky slices of hot buttered toast and homemade scones, topped off with the best coffee I've tasted in a long time. All at prices that make you wonder how they stay in business. Starbucks and Costa are dead to me now.

Really a quite perfectly formed little independent coffee shop. The loose leaf teas are fantastic – you can even combine them to make tea cocktails! Try the Turkish Apple + Ginger and Lemongrass. The place is a really chilled atmosphere, with very friendly staff and customers. I use The Snug as my 2nd office, and it's absolutely perfect for working from; with the free wifi, great food and snacks, and supremely excellent music all day! Exponentially superior to any of the dive alternatives on the main street.

The coffee shop offers a diverse range of freshly crafted coffees, delicious toasties and panini's, and locally homemade cakes. The owner, Rachael, will go above and beyond to attend to your every need, making your visit to The Snug perfect. There is a large variety of syrups that can be used to create a tailor made coffee that is perfect for individual tastebuds. Besides coffee, The Snug offers a collection off loose leaf tea's from basket of berries to peppermint. There is always a 'buzz' around The Snug as a customers love to chat between each other. The Snug is really home from home.
