Lovely choice of sweet treats here. We had the butterscotch cake which was amazing - perfect amount of sweetness and not dry at all. Fresh donut and shortbread also really good. Nice friendly service, would definitely recommend! 🥰 …

Great little cafe on the way into Ponteland (from Newcastle). The cakes are really nice and fresh and the meals are nicely presented. Not much parking so be prepared to walk there at busy times.

Called in at 11.30 in the middle of a bike ride with three other people and ordered a bacon and egg bun, a choice of white or brown, as it's the breakfast menu till noon. The food is made fresh but our food all came together in good time. The bacon is of good quality and three full breakfast looked good as well. Sauces came with the food, free of charge.The staff were friendly and the service was fast and efficient. I would highly recommend this place for a bite to eat anytime.

This is a great little cafe which sells delicious food extremely cheaply. The cooked breakfast and poached eggs on toast are definitely recommended. Lovely staff too.

Our 1st visit to Jan's Kitchen for a spot of lunch was 100% perfect. As far as Cafe food goes you can't do much better! We were greeted by warm smiles, friendly service and a very clean environment! We didn't have to wait long for a 'good quality' pot of tea followed shortly after by a delicious Lemon Crayfish Jacket Potato, super-fresh salad, authentic tasting mayonnaise and crunchy coleslaw! To be honest it's a combination of food we wouldn't ordinarily choose but tasted fantastic!! The Cafe was nice and busy so didn't lack atmosphere.... I guess the only picky criticism could be that a bit of background music would be a nice touch. To be really picky our table was a touch wobbly, but hey, for value for money and quality of food this place is well worth a 5 star review. Well done, and we WILL definitely be returning :-)

Thoroughly enjoyed pausing in Ponteland for a cuppa and a slice of cake. Jan's Kitchen is a popular spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is available onsite. The staff members I spoke with were friendly and helpful. The lemon cake was tremendous.

Friendly service, great coffee and good value. Staff are always lovely here, the coffee tastes great, you can sit in, sit out or get take out and the cakes are always delicious. I've never had a bad cuppa or cake here ever! Even the other customers are lovely - a couple let me put my sleeping baby (in a car seat) on their table while I ordered and waited for my take out coffee.

Update: Sadly dropped one star because the last three times we've visited we've been unable to get a table. I still like the place, but because it's a bit of trek for us and it's difficult to get seated, we probably won't be back. Original review: Lovely little cafe. Very, very reasonably priced food - four of us were fed and watered for £21. The soup and a sandwich is extremely good value at just £5. I was expecting a small bowl of soup and a small sandwich. What I got was a large sandwich and soup, and a small salad. It was very nice too. There were no free spaces in car park, so we had to park at the pub two minute walk up the road. We'll definitely be visiting again.

For years this establishment was a bit of a cyclists mecca , it wasn't the best cafe and was getting a bit shabby but always seemed a handy meeting point or to drop in for a post ride cuppa. Then it closed down and stood empty for a while. Thankfully the new proprietors moved in but not before a much needed makeover. The decor isn't the only thing what had much needed improvement though. The menu is full of tasty delights, coffee is great and service is friendly and first class. I've heard a few people complain that it's a bit pricey and it's true there are cheaper cafe's but you get what you pay for and the quality is well worth the price you pay.

Popped into Jan's Kitchen after long drive from Nottingham for a coffee . What we got was a genuinely warm friendly welcome 🌞☕ inside and out is really smart classy and inviting. There coffee and cakes are stunningly good. This is ideal place for all , mum's and dads with families, couples, those on there own as all made really welcome. When we arrived there was no tables. We got back in the car to go home and Jan came out to see if there was a problem. She found us a table for 6 within 5 minutes. Food was very tasty and very reasonably priced. Loved it and will be returning.

Lovely coffee, open early in the morning, toilets available , parking at busy times is not recommended. If parking over the road in sainsburys remember that you only have 20 minutes before you are fined

Lovely little place, spotlessly clean, with good food and coffee at reasonable prices. Parking's limited, but it's only a couple of minutes' walk from the free car park around the corner. Free Wi-Fi and it has air-con too.

Out of all the places to go in Ponteland for a cuppa, I come here. That must tell you something. The ladies are lovely and the food is fresh and delicious. Gets really busy at times but it's worth waiting
