Reviews of Matfen village store and coffee shop

Only popped in for can of pop as we were on our way somewhere else. Staff seemed friendly. Reasonably priced, and clean. The village itself is very nice.

Stopped off to have a coffee and tea, also purchased a caramel shortcake was very good, service was good and you are welcomed by very enthusiastic staff.
Purchased some. Corn beef pie and a slice of quiche to take away they were full off flavour and very reasonable prices. Will be returning and I would say it is well worth a visit and very good value for money.

I cycled to this lovely village and sat outside overlooking the stream and green. Had a delicious home made steak pie and a hot chocolate with marshmallows. Good choice of home baked and freshly prepared delights!

Lovely shop with very friendly and helpful staff who will try their best to meet your needs. Lovely little outdoor seating area to eat your food, or inside. Matfen is a stunning little village where you can sit and watch the world go by

Good coffee and an array of home-made cakes. There is also a small local shop on the premises, selling bread, eggs etc.

Its was a fantastic experience. The owners and staff are lovely people and the food is second to none. Best sandwiches and pastries in the northeast.

I spotted the sign when on a bike ride today. In desperate need of a coffee so popped in and ended up with a warm cheese scone and a massive slice of coffee cake. Enjoyed all of it sat outside in the sunshine, very friendly fella serving.
Lovely quiet little place to sit inside or outside. Thank you, I'll be back!

Lovely little place, situated in a beautiful, unspoilt village. Plenty of outdoor seating too, if the weather's good.
