Great home cooked food. The beef sandwich is amazing. Friendly staff. Would recommend a visit if you're down by the quayside.

A wonderful, tidy café, tucked just away from the waterside. As soon as I entered, I felt like I was at home; warm welcoming and run by a lovely couple ready to work and serve. The Queens Breakfast is a deliciously cooked breakfast, at an affordable price, served timely, and with a kind smile. I couldn't have been happier at 06:45am, tucking it away this hearty meal, and sipping my gorgeous flat white!

The best breakfast I had in NCL, it’s little bit far away from my aptm, or I must be here for bkf everyday!BTW, I love the opening time here, it’s friendly for me as we have to rush to school for class on weekdays!

Cheap and cheerful cafe. Hubby had full English (queen's brekkie) and i had scrambled egg on toast with huge pot of tea for £14. Both good size and tasty. Small with 5 or 6 tables inside and a couple outside
P. S.
A small cozy breakfast place. Was excited for the food after reading the reviews but ended up being a bit disappointed by the omelette.

Love this place and all the staff! Me, the BF and my pug go there every week for breakfast hahaha it's my dog's favourite place in the world as they always treat her with a sausage! :) Thank you! xx

Fast friendly service! Delicious food cooked to perfection and an awesome atmosphere to boot!
10/10 would recommend for a good old fry-up!

Visited today. We had the one queen breakfast and a brie & caramelized onion toastie plus the biggest pot of tea. Everyone and everything was great. Well worth a visit.

Really lovely place with friendly staff and absolutely amazing breakfasts - full English and a veggie breakfast with a massive pot of tea. The cafe is dog friendly and our furry friend was catered for with her own plate of sausage. Looking forward to a return visit :)

English breakfast was delicious, couldn't fault it, good price too. Pot of tea 👍. Definitely recommend this place.

As good as ever.

A good little traditional greasy spoon type cafe. Food was good and quick.

Staff were super friendly and decent food. Didn't care we were a stag group despite taking over the whole place.

Lovely freshly cooked food. Varied menu, excellent value, large pots of good quality tea, always busy what more can I say! Always top of our list for a breakfast to set us up for the day when visiting the city

Great place for breakfast after a heavy night on the drink
G. N.
Not bad for the price, seating area very limited and the drink fridge is too close to a table
B. M.
Lovely food- I had the breakfast bun, although rude and unpleasant staff, very unwelcoming and basically act as if you’re not there🤷🏽♀️ could use a lesson or two in customer service!
A. S.
Decent coffee, although if you just want a drink you can't sit in.

I intentionally come into work early on days I’m scheduled to start at 11.30am, solely to walk down the hill and get a breakfast bun for less than £3. It is absolutely delicious too.

Traditional type of cafe. Had a pleasant porridge breakfast

Great experience in the cafe. Staff were lovely & extremely welcoming. Our food was lovely, I ordered a chicken, bacon & avocado panini which wasn’t on the menu but the staff were extremely flexible & helpful with the menu.

Used to go here a long time ago but has gone downhill. No hand sanitiser, we got wrong for sitting down as they hadn't cleaned the table, other tables hadn't been cleaned either. The condiments needed to be cleaned down as they were sticky. It wasn't busy so would have expected tables to be cleaned as soon as they were cleared. Sorry but I was disappointed.
C. C.
Lovely friendly cafe serving great fresh food and tea in a proper, huge teapot. My kind of place to take the weight off for a while. Highly recommended.
J. W.
Spot on! Really nice place. Great food at a very reasonable price. Can't fault it.

Cracking vfm for full English. Wish this cafe was near me.
P. L.
Really really nice breakfast and delightful pot of tea, toast was burnt on one side but I love burnt toast so made the whole experience a perfect start to the day

Great little cafe breakfast was fast and delicious and the service on point.

Cooked to order food by the ladies behind the counter. this is old fashioned service whereby the staff are actually happy to chat with you and happy to get to know youThis cute little venue offers a great variety of breakfast options, despite the overall size of the cafe. It was just a delightful atmosphere with 3 ladies working together in sync, creating delicious made-to-order breakfast entrees. I

Excellent food at a great price. Friendly service.

Exactly what you want on a crisp October Sunday morning after one too many wines the night before. A really cute café with some character and friendly staff serving a good old honest British fry up at a very reasonable price.
L. E.
Good food, friendly staff, great location. Only downside is stairs to the loo would be an issue for anyone with mobility issues.

I went for breakfast this morning with my partner and his colleagues. The menu choices are fantastic - suitable for non-vegetarians, too which is a bonus. I opted for the full english breakfast which was filling and satisfying. Other choices included Eggs Benedict, stacked muffins, scrambled eggs on toast, omelettes, hot sandwiches (bacon / sausage) etc.
The cafe opens really early so perfect for early birds, and great that they also do great lunch choices too - paninis, soups, sandwiches and jacket potatoes. I work just along from the quayside (Ouseburn) so I will have to pop through here for my lunch one day.
Also like to mention that the prices are fantastic for what you get, and the service was really friendly. The location is right on the corner of Akenside Hill, so not hard to miss - just a lovely little cafe with even lovelier staff.

Perfect for a quick breakfast. Serves all the usual traditional English breakfast items you would expect plus some vegetarian options too. Place is clean and staff were very friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Lovely.

Great little cafe, cheapest breakfast I've ever had. The women working there accepted all the fussy requests our group had and remembered who ordered what when they brought it to the table. Great little find.
