Only discovered this placed recently when I wanted to go somewhere different than my usual haunts. It's very spacious inside, with lots of comfy chairs and sofas to relax into with your beverage. Bonus: all the seating areas are well spaced out, so you don't feel like you're cramed in. Have to say, the flavoured coffee I had was AMAZING. There's a good selection of food and snacks available to make it a great spot for lunch too. All of which are reasonably priced.

Visited here, with my son, for lunch. Been here many times and I have to say it's one of our favourite places for coffee/tea/lunch. Always a good selection of sandwiches etc, a good choice of hot drinks and plenty tables and seats on offer. Never have we not been able to find somewhere to sit. Love it!

It is warm and comfortable always.Location is excellent,right in centre opposite Fenwicks,under the clock. There used to be a terrific breakfast sandwich,I've reduced a star because the previously hand assembled food is now collect it from the fridge.Still looks pretty good. There are gorgeous cakes. Coffee is ok, little acidic for my taste but the prices are fair. Staff are nice though when we asked for a Tiffin we got a white chocolate shortbread, we couldn't be bothered to argue because it took a lil bit to be served and get drinks etc. Covid restrictions are great though, felt very safe.

Nice coffee, nice dessert (apple strudel warmed :p) nice atmosphere. TV is on but really sensible that they have subtitles on and no sound. Means you can watch it if you want and it's not intrusive, so easy to converse with company. Wish more places were like this. Excellent.....staff nice and helpful too.

Came here while I was looking for a place to wait. Bought myself a coffee and a carrot cake but neither was anything special. The coffee was probably a 5/10 and the cake was a 4/10. I wasn't too displeased though as it wasn't very expensive. The place was full but the vibe was pretty nice, mixed groups of old and young people all sat chatting.

Perfect for a quick lunch - great variety of food and drinks. Only issue is currently only one loo available as customers can no longer use the toilets in the tanning area (COVID-19). However if your not too desperate there are a multiple toilets in Eldon square.

First day of opening properly after national lockdown. Nice big cafe with lovely food and drinks all very reasonably priced. The coffee was amazing as well. Very tasty, not too bitter and gave me the buzz I needed.

Hidden gem in Newcastle Centre. Great menu, good on price, lovely atmosphere. Very accommodating for those with disabilities, just ask at counter if helps needed as they're more than happy to carry your order to table. There are a few steps down into the cafe, though outside seating area is available at street level, and worth asking as I think there's hidden lift access from the arcade next door.

I went into this rather hidden café on a friend's recommendation, and I wasn't expecting too much. I was pleasantly surprised to discover such a secluded gem! Unlike the hustle and bustle present at most other cafés, The Coffee Trader is far too often walked past and remains rather quiet on the inside. This creates a cosy and peaceful environment where you don't have to stand at the window. The drinks themselves are great and very tasty, and although I'm yet to try some the food and cakes were nail-bitingly tempting.
